Reinforcements
Sasuke had spent the past two weeks in hell. He fought everyday all day against his cousin Shusui and a Jounin named Kakashi Hatake. His Sharingan had evolved too the three tomoe state in both eyes after the eighth day but that had not lead to a respite until the 13th day of training. Shusui had given him orders to got o Naruto's house for a team meeting.
Ino's training had not gone quite as well as Sasuke's. She had managed on the fourth day to synchronize with Naruto for communications sake but had been unable to pull him out of the four tail state that he had entered into on the fifth day. The result was Naruto being brought back to his senses by the combined efforts of Yamato and Fuu. The two had restrained Naruto and then Fuu helped him suppress the bloodlust of the nine tails allowing Naruto to regain control. While the test had been a failure she had been able to get a grasp of her sensor abilities during the second week.
Naruto had a fairly standard week training with the Kyuubi's chakra the only difference was the presence of Ino who he was learning to work with. He had learned how to work with her fairly well and with the exception of her Kyuubi suppression test it had all gone well. His second week of training was fairly eventful as it had been spent with Danzo reviewing Futon ninjutsu. Then Danzo had taken him to the Hokage tower in the middle of the night on the fourth day of the week…
Naruto and Danzo entered the Hokage library. It was a a room full of scrolls and books on important information to Konoha. They walked to the center of the room to look at a large scroll sitting in the middle.
"Naruto, this is the forbidden scroll, It contains the Kinjutsu of Konoha. To be put in this scroll a jutsu must be one of three things. Dangerous to oneself or allies, politically sensitive or immoral in a way that cannot truly be understood by those who are not ninja like us." Danzo sneered at the end. It was clear what he thought of the last two reasons.
"Ok so what do you want me to do?" asked Naruto
"Take a guess… the Hokage and I have decided to allow you access to this scroll in the hopes you will be able to take on some of these techniques." Danzo opened the scroll. "We are going to start with a technique that is an advancement of your Kage Bunshin. It is called Bunshin Dibakuha."
Naruto had seen this jutsu before when he was training with the ANBU. He had to restrain himself from squealing with excitement.
"I know you have been looking forward to learning it but do try to control yourself Naruto it is unbecoming of a ninja to show emotions." Danzo was glaring at him. Apparently bouncing instead of squealing was still unacceptable.
Naruto was on his third day of training in the stronghold. He would make a clone send it into the room where he trained with the Kyuubi Chakra. Then he would seal the door and detonate the clone. He was finally starting to hear the explosions from the other side of the door. He knew the jutsu was complete as the room had been built for him to undergo the four tailed transformation without anyone the wiser above ground.
Suddenly the red lights in the hallway came on. Naruto knew that was the signal for him to report to the Hokage
The team stood in front of the Hokage. He had a rather serious look on his face. He was alone in his office with no attendants present.
"It appears that team 8 is in need of backup. Their C-rank mission to the land of waves has gone poorly. The client Tazuna lied about the risk of the mission, under normal circumstances they would have withdrawn but it appears we that we have an opportunity to score a major intelligence coup. The shipping magnate Gato is involved. Our intelligence division has linked him to several figures of interest to Konoha including the Kirigakure and the new village Otogakure. Your mission is to back up Kurenai with the protection of the bridge builder then you are to capture Gato alive and bring him in for interrogation. If in the process you are to secure any ledgers or documents about his business. Now go and show the world our power."
The four disappeared in a blur heading towards the gate at full speed. They left the gate in the manji formation Naruto leading, protected on either side by Sasuke and Yamato in the rear guard position was Ino. Ino had extended her senses the moment they left the village in search of team 8.
The squad traveled for about 4 hours in relative silence until they spotted signs of a battle on the road ahead. Kurenai and team 8 were waiting for them along with two bound missing ninja from the mist.
"It looks like our backup is here team" said Kurenai as she eyed Yamato.
"Yes, I am Yamato and this is my team Naruto, Ino and Sasuke. We will be taking point from here."
"I thought I would get at least a team of Chunin, Why did Hokage-sama send you? Not that i am ungrateful." asked Kurenai
"My team is a bit unconventional. They may be genin but in terms of combat power they surpass any team of chunin that are available." said Yamato
"Are you saying they are better than us! Cuz I we were in class with Ino and Sasuke, they can't be that good!" interrupted Kiba brashly.
"Kiba! Stand down unless you plan to question the Hokage!" barked Kurenai
Kiba was immediately cowed by his sensei's tone and backed off. As Kurenai and Yamato discussed the prisoners the other genin sized each other up they all knew each other from the academy except Naruto who team 8 had never seen before. Yamato clapped his hands once.
"Right our opponent will be a Jounin so in the next encounter Naruto and myself will take the lead while everyone else will guard the bridge builder." Yamato surprised team 8 with his plan but they made no objections and just gave a few skeptical looks.
"Everyone with any sensor type techniques is to keep them active from here on out." ordered Yamato
At that order a cloud of bugs flew from the sleeves of Shino Aburame and dispersed throughout the area. Ino expanded her chakra sense again, having relaxed it when they found team 8. Hinata activated her byakugan.
"Hinata use the byakugan in bursts. It will do us no good if you exhaust yourself before a fight even starts" said Kurenai. Yamato nodded to her relenting that she was right about her student.
"We will keep the genjutsu up around the bridge builder as we move so let's keep a steady walking pace and move out." said Yamato
