Chapter 5: Poor Unfortunate Souls:
Porcus' POV:
I was faced with the King.
"I know..." the King begins.
"I tried to tell her to stay away from the human," I said.
"WHAT ABOUT HUMANS?"
Quick, play dumb. "What's a human?" On second thought, I don't have to play.
Pearl's POV:
Slippery then shows me...
"A sword," I asked.
"It belongs to him," says Slippery.
"Who," I asked.
"Guess."
I then realized who's sword it is. It's Yoi's! This was Yoi's sword! I then picked it up. I'm holding his sword! "Wow," I said, "it sure is different from the swords pirates and vikings use."
"So, it is true," says my Father, "YOU WERE UP THERE AGAIN!"
"Daddy, how did you find out," I asked. Then I realized. "Porcus."
"YOU SHOULD'VE STAYED AWAY," says my Father.
"He could've drowned," I said.
"ONE LESS HUMAN TO WORRY ABOUT!"
"Daddy, I love him!" I then realized how much more trouble I was in.
"HE'S A HUMAN, YOU'RE A MERMAID!"
"I don't care!"
"I DID'NT WANT TO DO THIS, BUT IF THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO CONVINCE YOU, THEN SO BE IT!" He then destroyed everything I had, even the sword. I then started crying. My Father then leaves.
. . .
I was alone.
"You look like you've seen better days," says the son of Bai Tza.
"What do you want," I asked.
"My Mother can help you."
"Are you kidding me? She's always trying to kill me!"
"You've noticed that huhh? Well, what have you got to lose."
. . .
I then started swimming with the boy.
Porcus' POV:
"...and then I blabbed," I said.
"Porcus, you've told me this story 12 times in a role," says Slippery.
"And I'm going to keep telling it until the guilt comes off," I said.
"Or we could follow her," says Slippery.
"What?" We then saw Pearl with the son of Bai Tza.
Pearl's POV:
I was in Atlantis, and I saw Bai Tza.
"Hello, dear Pearl," says Bai Tza.
"Don't come any closer," I said.
"I know, you have every reason to fear me. After all, the things I've tried to do, but now I want to help you. I know about the human, and I don't blame you. There is one way you can see him."
"But if I peeked through his window, won't it be creepy?"
"What? No! You have to become a human."
"Can you do that?"
"Of course."
"But that means I'll never see my Father or my sisters again."
"But you will get your man. Life's full of tough choices, isn't it?"
Bai Tza: I admit that in the past I've been a nasty
They weren't kidding when they called me, well, a witch
But you'll find that nowadays
I've mended all my ways
Repented, seen the light, and made a switch True? Yes.
And I fortunately know a little magic
It's a talent that I always have possessed
And dear lady, please don't laugh,
I use it on behalf
of the miserable, lonely and depressed pathetic
Poor unfortunate souls
In pain, in need
This one longing to be thinner
That one wants to get the girl
And do I help them? Yes, indeed
Those poor unfortunate souls
So sad, so true
They come flocking to my cauldron
crying "Spells, Ursula, please!"
And I help them? Yes, I do
Now it's happened once or twice
Someone couldn't pay the price
And I'm afraid I had to rake 'em 'cross the coals
Yes, I've had the odd complaint
But on the whole, I've been a saint
to those poor unfortunate souls
"Now, you got three days. Got that? Three days to get him to kiss you. Not just any kiss, a kiss of true love. If he kisses you, you'll be with him forever, but if he doesn't, you'll turn back into a mermaid and... you'll belong to me! Oh, and we haven't discussed the subject of payment. You can't have something for nothing. What I want from you is... your voice!"
"My voice?"
"Exactly. No more singing and no more talking. Just... silence," says Bai Tza.
"But without my voice, how?"
"Have you not seen yourself? Your looks... your pretty pretty... oh, and don't forget about body language"
Bai Tza: The men up there don't like a lot of blabber
They think a girl who gossips is a bore!
Yes, on land it's much preferred
for ladies not to say a word
And after all, dear, what is idle prattle for
"No, this is wrong. I can't do this," I said.
"Fine then. Forget about the world above. Go back home to daddy and never leave again," says Bai Tza.
Bai Tza: Come on, they're not all that impressed with conversation
True gentlemen avoid it when they can
But they dote and swoon and fawn
on a lady who's withdrawn
It's she who holds her tongue who gets a man
Come on, you poor unfortunate soul
Go ahead! Make your choice
I'm a very busy woman and I haven't got all day
It won't cost much. Just your voice
You poor unfortunate soul
It's sad but true
If you want to cross the bridge, my sweet, you've got the pay the toll
Pluck a scale from off your tail
A drop of blood inside the bowl!
Take a gulp and take a breath, and go ahead and sign the scroll
Tiburón, now I've got her, boy
Your mother is on a roll
THIS PPPOOORRR UUUNNNFFFOOORRRTTTUUUNNNAAATTTEEE SSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLL
Beluga sevruga, come winds of the Caspian Sea
Larynxes, glossitis, ad max Laryngitis, la voce to mmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!
"Now, sing! Sing for me!"
I then started singing.
"Keep singing!"
And with that, my voice is gone, but then my tail started to change as Bai Tza was laughing manically.
