Chapter 4: Just For a Moment:

Utako's POV:

I arrived at the home of Tiburón.

"Utako, I've been expecting you," says Tiburón.

"Can you really tell me what this locket is," I asked, "why does it have my name?"

"That's an easy one," says Tiburón, "it has your name because it holds the secret to your destiny. Who you really are."

"What do you mean?"

He then shows me the image and I saw the merpeople. "Take a guess."

"You mean... I'm meant to be a mermaid?"

"And I can help you." He then holds out a vial.

"Bai Tza's magic," asks the shrimp who told me about this place, "where did you get that?"

"I was saving it."

He then pours some stuff on my legs, and they turn to a tail. I look at myself and saw that my hair has a mixture of Blue, Teal, Green, and Purple, my eyes have a mixture of Cyan, Aquamarine, Turquoise, and Teal, my have a Mixture of White, Silver, Brown, and Yellow, and my fishtail have a Mixture of Purple, Pink, Orange, and Blue.

"I'm a mermaid," I said.

"You can say that again," says Tiburón.

"I'm a mermaid!" I then jumped into the water.

Pearl's POV:

"I'm having all my guards look for her," says my Father.

"You should join them," says Yoi, "you know these waters and you know our daughter."

"It might be dangerous," says my Father.

"Yoi's right, Daddy. I have to do this."

My Father then turns me back into a mermaid.

Utako's POV:

This tail was taking some getting used to.

Utako: Okay, get a grip, get the hang of this flipper
It's like slipping two feet into one big huge slipper
This way is left, but which way is right
Oh, now I'll be circling in circles all night
Oh, so this is forward, no problem

I can't believe I can do this and more
To swim in the sea like I walk on the shore
Out of my shell, not closed up like a clam
Look out, sea
This is me
Here I am

For a moment, all of me, is alive and at home in the sea
I'm swirling and twirling so graceful and grand
Without stubbing my toes, getting stuck in the sand
For a moment, life is cool
I'm a splash in the world's biggest pool
This is more than my thoughts ever thought it could be
For a moment, just one moment, lucky me

Pearl: If only for one moment
I had shared with you all I know
The sea wouldn't be a mystery
Oh, why did you have to go

Utako: Everything's newer, and brighter, and bluer
and truer to life than before...
Watch me soar

For a moment, I can shine, got a grin and a fin that works fine
My fingers are wrinkly, and I really don't care
If all of my curls have curled out of my hair
For a moment, I can feel
All the dreams I've been dreaming are real
Wish my mother could hear it, the sea is my song
For a moment, just a moment I belong

Pearl: I will find you my darling
And the moment that I do
I'll hold you close, my Song Child
And sing the song of the sea with you...

Utako: For a moment, just a moment I bbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeelllllllllooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggggg!!! (Pearl: Sing the song of the sea with yyyyyyyyyooooooooouuuuuuuuu!!!)

. . .

I then returned to Tiburón.

"This is the greatest thing to have ever happened to me," I said.

"Too bad it won't last," says Tiburón.

"What do you mean," I asked.

"At least not without my mother's trident," says Tiburón, "but it was stolen from her a long time ago by a kleptomaniac and without it, you'll have to turn back into a boring human."

"I don't want to get back," I said, "can't you just get it back?"

"I've tried that, believe me, I have, but it's way too difficult."

"Well, maybe I can."

"That's a great idea!" He then opens the locket and shows the image again. "This is where the thief lives."

"Lemuria? You mean it's real?"

"Of course, whoever told you otherwise."

"My Mom."

"Now, why would she ever say that?"

I then tried to brush it off. "I'll get your mother's trident back." I then swam off.

"I know you will!"
