Sorry it's been so long since I updated anything. It's been a very busy year this year. Hope you enjoy.

Two weeks after her conversation with Anduin, Kenya stepped through the portal to Stormwind. She was greeted by Jaina, who had a very concerned look on her face.

"Welcome home, Your Majesty." Jaina said with a bow of the head. She masked the concern just a little as the queen stepped forward.

"Thank you. It's good to be home." Kenya replied, stepping up to Jaina so the portal could close. "I think." she said quietly.

"Trouble with the peace talks?" Jaina asked.

Kenya smiled up at her. "No. I left them in good hands. It's just the circumstances behind my return that are worrying me. I haven't spoken to Anduin since his visit, so I'm a little worried to hear his thoughts on our current situation. I'm assuming he filled you in."

"He did." Jaina replied as they headed towards the keep, not passing many people on their way through. It was still very early morning and the markets and shops had yet to fully open. The sun was only just above the horizon.

Jaina looked at Kenya out of the corner of her eye, then stopped and turned to her. "With respect, Your Majesty, are you sure there isn't something else bothering you? I've known you quite a while and you seem more off than you should be for the situation."

Kenya stopped, looking around to make sure the two women were alone. Confident their conversation would be private, Kenya sighed and looked at Jaina.

"Varian and I knew each other for five years. We were together for four, married for three and sleeping together for three and a half. We never got pregnant, not even a scare, for three and a half years. And we were…active and not taking any kind of precautions. In Fact, for the last year before he was killed, I honestly think Varian was trying to get me pregnant. What if there's something wrong with me? What if emotionally things work out between Anduin and I, but I can't give him children?"

Jaina sighed, nodding her head in understanding.

"You really shouldn't be worried about that yet. You both need to focus on seeing if you can be together, before you need to worry about children. Not to mention, you don't know for sure the problem was with you. Varian had been in many battles and was injured on many occasions before meeting you."

"So, what you're saying is the reason behind our infertility might have been an old injury of Varian's?"

Jaina shrugged. "It's not unreasonable. The man tended to put his body out there during battles. Also, you two might not have been compatible with each other in that way. You might be fine if your partner is Anduin. The truth is, you just can't be sure and there is no point worrying yourself over it. Even if it comes to pass that you can't have children, there are things that can be done."

"But the point of all this is for Anduin to have an heir!" Kenya said, a little forcefully, but quieted right down, as if unsure. "Isn't it?"

"No, it's really not." Jain said calmly, not fazed by Kenya's outburst. "The point is for our king to not have to rule alone. A king does much better with a queen by his side. Take Varian, for example, the only times he was calm and happy were before his first wife was killed and after he met you. The time in between was a bit rough, at times. Ask Anduin. The point of all of this is for Anduin to have a queen by his side who loves him and can help him with the heavy burden, which is his life now. And, since you and Anduin seem determined to give this a try…"

"You don't like the idea?" Kenya asked, reading Jaina's uncertainty.

"It's not that I think it's a bad idea, I'm just not convinced you can get beyond what your relationship is now, so it can become something more. There is too much history between you and Varian. But then, you are a much stronger woman than I am and your relationship with Anduin and Varian is different than mine. I just don't think I'd be able to make it work."

Kenya scoffed. "You think I'm stronger than you?"

Jaina laughed. "You married Varian Wrynn! It took one hell of a strong woman to be with that man. Again, I would never have been able to live with him. I loved him dearly, don't get me wrong, but he was a difficult person and Light bless you for being strong enough to love him as you did."

Kenya couldn't help but smile, holding back tears. She's never thought about what it said about her as a woman to have captured the heart of the elder Wrynn. He had been a difficult man, that was abundantly true, but Kenya never minded the difficulties. She'd loved him with her whole heart, regardless of his flaws, and his death had crushed her. The only reason she was able to move on at all had been Anduin.

"Varian was challenging." Kenya admitted. "But, I wouldn't have changed him for the world."

Jaina laughed, pulling the younger woman into a hug. "Neither would I. Enough of this type of talk. Let's get moving. Anduin is waiting and he seemed very eager to talk to you. Things will work out, Kenya, in one way or another. I promise."
