Chapter 4: Jungle Rumble

Deep inside the jungles of the Kongo Isles, Donkey Kong swung through the vines of the jungle. The large primate checked on his jungle home, ensuring it was safe from any threats. Following him was his sidekick and best friend, Diddy Kong.

"Man, things have been peaceful here," Diddy Kong said. "I know. Lizard Lips hasn't attacked in months," Donkey Kong said. "Hey! I can't believe we're doing this!" yelled somebody. "Huh? Who said that?" Diddy Kong asked. "Not sure little buddy. Let's go check it out," Donkey Kong said.

They jumped down to the ground and hid behind some trees. They noticed some Koopa Troopas and Goombas. "Koopas and Goombas? They're not native here," Diddy Kong whispered. "Shh. Shut up dude!" scolded the Goomba. "Why? Why do I have to shut up?!" the Koopa yelled. "Because Donkey Kong might hear you," the Goomba said. "Oh… Yeah," the Koopa said. Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong walked up behind the two. They turned around slowly as their eyes widened. Donkey Kong pinned the Koopa to a tree while Diddy Kong stood atop the Goomba who was on its side. "Alright. Why are you here?" Donkey Kong asked. "I'll never tell!" the Koopa yelled. Donkey Kong tightened his grip, hurting the Koopa. "AH!" he yelped, "Okay! Okay! I'll tell you!" the Koopa yelled. "Don't tell- OW!" the Goomba yelped as Diddy Kong shot him with a peanut. "Ludwig told us to distract you while the rest of us steal your banana horde!" the Koopa yelled. "What?!" Donkey Kong yelled. "Our bananas!" Diddy Kong yelled.

Donkey Kong tossed the Koopa up in the air and punched him far away. Diddy Kong stuck the Goomba in the dirt and he and Donkey Kong ran back to their home. "Uh… Can somebody get me out of here!" the Goomba yelled, "No? Alright then."

Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong arrived at their hut and witnessed that their banana horde was all gone. "No! Our bananas!" Donkey Kong yelled. "They're gone!" Diddy Kong yelled. Donkey Kong looked around and found some tracks heading towards the deeper jungle. "Come on Diddy!" Donkey Kong yelled.

They ran, following the tracks until they arrived by a cliff. "Hm," Donkey Kong grunted as he looked down below. A kart was below with a pulley filled with bananas. "It's Donkey Kong!" yelled a Koopa. "Shoot him down!" yelled another Koopa. A Goomba flipped a lever and fired some bullet bills towards the two. "I got this!" Diddy Kong yelled as he put on his jetpack. He flew up and shot some peanuts from his popgun and diverted the bullet bills. "You go on ahead! I'll follow!" Donkey Kong yelled. "Got it!" Diddy Kong yelled.

Diddy Kong flew ahead while Donkey Kong jumped down the cliff. He ran towards the Koopas and Goombas. In his path, he encountered some Koopas and Goombas. As he ran, he punched the enemies ahead of him. Diddy Kong dodged all of the bullet bills shot at him. "We can't beat them!" a Goomba yelled. "That's the plan," a Koopa said.

Diddy Kong kept following the kart. Ahead of him, he noticed some smoke rising from the horizon. Keeping an eye on the kart, he flew up and saw an entire floating factory ahead of him. A key detail he noticed was the giant crocodile head on it. "K. Rool," he said. The kart with the stolen bananas entered the facility as the doors shut close behind it. Diddy Kong landed in front as Donkey Kong arrived. "What is this?" Donkey Kong asked. "I'm not sure, but K. Rool is involved with this," Diddy Kong said. "K. Rool? With Goombas and Koopas?" Donkey Kong asked. "I know," Diddy Kong said. "This spells trouble," Donkey Kong said.

Donkey Kong broke down the door and he and Diddy Kong slowly entered a dark room. "Lizard Lips! You better show yourself!" Donkey Kong yelled. Suddenly, the floating factory began floating. It floated above the Kongo Isles. It descended into the jungle, destroying some of the environment around it. It shot a laser at the bottom, and began drilling for something. "So, you found this place, just like I planned," someone said. "Hey, that doesn't sound like K. Rool," Diddy Kong said. "Hm. Smarter than I thought too," the voice said. "Show yourself!" Donkey Kong yelled.

A clown car flew around them. Flying it was Ludwig Von Koopa. "Uh, who are you?" Donkey Kong asked. "Oh, right. We never met. I am Ludwig! Son of Bowser! The better of all his children anyway," he gloated. "Bowser?" Diddy Kong questioned. "It's a shame though. I would've preferred to use you two as my experiments, but," he said as he landed inside a mech, "I must put an end to you two."

Ludwig shot two cannonballs. The two primates dodged the attacks. "Banana Slamma!" Donkey Kong yelled as he charged forward. A mechanical arm came out of Ludwig's mech and caught Donkey Kong's punch. Diddy Kong jumped off Donkey Kong's back and shot some peanuts at Ludwig. "Ow!" he yelped, "Oh! How dare you?!" He jumped up and floated in the air. He shot out cannonballs. Diddy Kong jumped up the cannonballs. As they came down, Donkey Kong caught the projectiles and shot them back at Ludwig.

"AH!" Ludwig yelped. Diddy Kong jumped up the final cannonball on top of Ludwig's mech. "Ooh. I wonder what this does?" Diddy Kong asked. He began pressing random buttons, shooting cannonballs, sending electrical shocks everywhere, and bringing out some toast. "Hey! Stop touching things!" Ludwig yelled. "BANANA!" Donkey Kong yelled. "Huh?" Ludwig questioned. "Gotta go!" Diddy Kong exclaimed. "SLAMMA!" Donkey Kong yelled as he slammed Ludwig's mech down to the ground and crushed it like a soda can. "Uh oh," Ludwig said. Ludwig was launched from his clown car, through the ceiling. "I'LL BE BACK!" He screamed.

A door opened, revealing Kong's banana hoard. "Aw yeah!" Donkey Kong exclaimed. "I'm starving!" Diddy Kong exclaimed. They pounded their chests like drums. They stepped towards their bananas, until they heard a stomp behind. "Don't think this is over!" yelled a voice. "Huh?" they questioned. Behind them, the conniving Kremling boss, King K. Rool appeared, and he was holding a cannon of sorts. "K. Rool!" they yelled. "Time to die!" he yelled. He charged up the cannon. "Oh no you don't!" Diddy Kong yelled as he walked ahead of Donkey Kong. K. Rool continued charging. Donkey Kong looked, charged a punch, and punched Diddy Kong through the ceiling. Diddy Kong looked back at Donkey Kong as an arrow hit him, turning him into a trophy. "Donkey Kong!" he yelled as he was launched away.

Diddy Kong landed deep in the jungle, near Donkey Kong's hut. It began to rain. "Donkey Kong," he melancholy said. A glow came from Donkey Kong's hut. Diddy climbed up to the front door of the hut. The glow came from a painting of the Mushroom Kingdom. From the painting. "Mamma Mia!" Mario screamed as he came through. Following him were all of his friends. He slowly stood up, still hurt from Ganondorf's attack. "Donkey? Donkey Kong!" he called out, "Anybody?" Diddy Kong opened the door. "Mario? Princess Peach? Everyone? What are you doing here?" he asked. "Diddy Kong?" they questioned. "Where's DK?" Mario asked.

Diddy Kong explained the whole story, while Peach explained to him everything that happened in the Mushroom Kingdom. "Bowser took over?!" he said, surprised. "Yes. He had help," Peach said. "And from what he said, it looks like Bowser also made an alliance with K. Rool," Toad said. "And if Bowser's working with Ganondorf and K. Rool, that would make him unstoppable," Toadette added. "Although, K. Rool was drilling something in the center of the Kongo Isles," Diddy Kong said. "Hm," Mario thought. "How are we going to stop them?" Daisy asked. "They're clearly looking for something. So we're going to find whatever they're looking for first," Mario said. "Wait. We're going to the giant floating factory fortress?" Luigi asked. "Exactly. Although, I think we could use some extra help," Mario said. "Help?" Toad questioned. "Yeah. Yoshi might be able to help us. So we're gonna separate, hopefully find out a plan to stop Bowser and those other guys," Mario said.

With some hope left, the group began to come up with a plan to recruit Yoshi and invade the mining operation of King K. Rool.
