Chapter 1: The Silver Pegasus
"Is there really a village in these mountains?" a skeptical Kyoya asked Hyoma who was leading the group across a wooden bridge.
"Of course there is." Hyoma replied. "After we cross this bridge, Koma Village is just a little further. Welcome to the home of Bey, Koma Village." he introduced.
In the village...
"This is Koma Village?" Kenta wondered, the group walking through the ghost town.
"Who are you?" a voice demanded as they neared the village center. "Only people given permission are allowed in this forbidden place. Outsiders, leave now. It'd be wise for you to leave here at once. If you don't, great misfortune will fall upon you."
"No need to threaten us, Hokuto." Hyoma sighed.
"Why did you bring outsiders here, Hyoma?" Hokuto asked.
"His name is Hokuto." Hyoma introduced. "He's Ginga's childhood friend, like me."
"Hyoma, you haven't forgotten, have you?" Hokuto reminded. "What happened the last time outsiders set foot in this village."
"These people aren't evil." Hyoma assured. "They're Ginga's... by the way, Hokuto, where is Ginga?" he asked the important question.
"Ginga, huh?" Hokuto mused. "That's too bad. You just missed him. Right now, he's there." he turned his head to Snow Mountain.
On the snowy slopes of Snow Mountain...
Ginga made his way up the mountain slope. "As if I'd fall here." he regained his footing after being losing his balance against a strong gust of wind. "I have to stand up to him again. In order to do that..." he recalled Hokuto's advice for him to visit the mountain's shrine where a scroll containing secrets was kept.
Inside the cave entrance...
"Just through here and the peak will be just ahead." Ginga made his way into the cavern. Accidentally stepping on an ice stalactite, he caused the stalactites on the cave ceiling to fall down. "Damn it." he cursed, letting Pegasus loose to break the falling stalactites apart. Letting out an enraged roar, he continued his way and found himself in front of a huge block of ice a while later. "This time, this wall of ice is my opponent?" he brought out Pegasus again. "Damn." he hissed after Pegasus was reflected back. "As if I'd give up that easily." he snapped, sending Pegasus clashing against the ice block again. "Crush it, Pegasus! I did it." he beamed after Pegasus smashed through the ice block.
Outside...
"What the..." Ginga wondered, looking around when he heard a low rumbling sound. "No way." he gulped when an avalanche came falling down towards him. "It's no good. I can't get away." he then recalled Ryuga's mocking words. "Don't mess with me." he snapped. "I'm going to bring you down, no matter what it takes. I won't give up." he launched Pegasus straight towards the rushing snow. "Clean a path, Pegasus. How about that?" he climbed out from the snow he was buried under. You can't stop me that easily. Even so, I couldn't defeat him. Is it really up there? The new power to beat Ryuga. It's like I'm blind." he winced, continuing his way through the thick snow. "Where exactly am I right now? How much further? Ryuga!" he suddenly heard Ryuga's taunting laughter in the winds. "Pegasus..." he gasped, the Bey falling from his frozen hands before he fell over and passed out in the snow.
Ginga... Ginga... Seina's soft voice awoke Pegasus' owner.
"Seina-nee..." Ginga whispered, reaching out to the blindingly light before him.
Get up, Ginga. Seina encouraged. Your friends are outside waiting for you.
Ginga reached out for Pegasus, the Bey glowed with Asteria's aura.
"All right, Seina-nee." Ginga regained his determination. "I won't give up until the very end. So please, lend me your strength one more time, Pegasus." he released Pegasus once more and clearing a path straight towards the shrine.
Outside the mountain doors...
"What a group." a thoroughly impressed Hokuto remarked, he and Hyoma watched on as Kyoya led the others through the opened doors they had managed to open together.
"That's the strength of their feelings for Ginga." Hyoma stated. "It seems he has good friends. Hokuto, that light..." he gasped, seeing the silvery-white aura ripples pulsing from the mountain.
"My, my." Hokuto mused. "Looks like Seina has truly awakened her powers."
"Seina-nee?" Hyoma echoed.
"Hyoma, do you remember the village's other legend?" Hokuto reminded. "Then recall how Seina writes her name."
"'Star Stream'..." Hyoma frowned. "You mean... Seina-nee is... Asteria-sama?"
Inside the mountain's shrine...
"The scroll of secrets is here?" Ginga approached the alter where a chest was placed on top of it. "is this it?" he opened the chest and removed the sealed scroll and untied it. "If you are reading this, you must've lost a tough battle, Ginga." he read. "This handwriting... it's dad's handwriting. Then... and so, you came here in search of the scroll of secrets." he read it in Ryusei's voice. "You idiot! Don't rely on something like that. Listen, Ginga. People gain the most strength when they lose. That means this is your chance, your big chance. It's important to feel the desire to win. But winning isn't everything. A man's worth is measured by what he does after losing. First of all, relying on some scroll of secrets just over one loss shows you have no guts. As if something that convenient exists. Too bad, huh? Whether you learn from this experience or not, is all up to you. Because there is only one way of making a Bey stronger: it's only by the Blader's spirit. Listen up, Ginga. Don't feel ashamed about losing. If you lose, just stand back up. Even if you lose and lose, no matter how many times, just bear it and stand back up. When people get back up by their own power, they will always become stronger than ever. Only a man who won't give up can grow. Just laugh off your measly losses. When you lose, there are times you might feel lost. Sometimes, you lost sight of yourself. At those times, believe in yourself and believe in Pegasus. Without giving up, you were able to make it this far. That's the proof of your strength."
Outside the shrine...
"Dad, I'll try again." Ginga promised. "Believing in myself. Believing in Pegasus."
SailorStar9: Now that's done, read and review.
