Chapter 7: Blader's Spirit

"Stop it, L-Drago..." Ryuga moaned, flickering between his human form and his half-dragon form. "Just stop it. I am the one who controls you. Don't try to take me in. Don't try to control me!" he forced L-Drago's dark energy out of him, said evil Bey refused to give up commandeering its vessel and re-entered Ryuga, reinforcing its will over the Blader.

In the audience...

"The thing that I was afraid of has begun after all." Ryūsei remarked. "Until now, no one had been able to control L-Drago. It is said that those who tried were all taken in by the Dark Aura and destroyed. Through the matches at Battle Bladers, its power expanded greatly and has now begun to run wild. Not even Ryuga can control it any longer. The rampaging L-Drago is trying to absorb Ryuga himself. Over the long course of history, the past the two fragments took diverged from each other greatly. One is Darkness, one is Light. In the end, the path to taken depends on the choices of humans. Even L-Drago's creation was a result of the humans who became amazed by the Star Fragment's great power. Some powerful people of the past were just like Doji. Be careful, Ginga." he warned. "The thing L-Drago desires is Darkness. It won't stop this rampage until it leads the world to destruction and everything falls into darkness."

In the Beydish...

"That's right." Dark Ryuga droned. "That is my desire. Destruction!"

"Pull yourself together, Ryuga." Ginga shouted.

"Turn everything to darkness." Dark Ryuga chanted.

"Don't lose to the dark power, Ryuga." Ginga pressed. "Pull yourself back from it."

"You will become sustenance for me as well." Dark Ryuga sent L-Drago back into its Bey and had it attack Storm Pegasus. "Destruction... More... Rampage... Sacrifice everything to me. I will tear this world apart and completely cover it with a darkness of destruction."

"Stop it, Ryuga." Ginga pleaded. "What will happen if you do something like that? So, is this really the reason you've been Beyblading?"

"All I want is a world covered in darkness." Dark Ryuga replied.

"Open your eyes, Ryuga." Ginga begged.

"No one can stop me now." Dark Ryuga retorted. "Go away! Disappear!" he sent L-Drago for an all-out attack on Storm Pegasus.

"What power..." Ginga was thrown back against the railing. "Can I really win against an opponent like that? I have to do it; if I lose here, everything is over. Pegasus and I hold the fate of everyone's future. Here we go, Ryuga."

"It's no use." Dark Ryuga mocked. "What can someone like you do?"

"I must not lose." Ginga held firm. "I'm going to win. I'm going to win this."

"Don't make me laugh." Dark Ryuga had renew L-Drago its attack.

"Go, Pegasus." Ginga countered. "Pegasus." he gasped when Storm Pegasus was knocked up into the air.

"Dark Move: Dragon Emperor Soaring Destruction!" Dark Ryuga fired an energy beam upwards at Storm Pegasus, before sending the winged horse pummeling back down into the Beydish. "And it ends right here. What's this?" he was taken aback when the smoke died down and the spirits of Kyoya, Hikaru and Tsubasa forming a protective wall in front of Ginga, before turning into energy sphere and entering Storm Pegasus, re-energizing the Bey and enabling it to push L-Drago back. "I'm after you, Ginga." he admitted.

"I'm not going to abandon a fellow Blader." Ginga made his decision. "That's exactly what the dark Bey has been doing. It's not enough just to defeat the Bey. In the end, Ryuga and Doji were both fooled by the power L-Drago possesses and were only being used. So now, I'm going to in against L-Drago and free Ryuga from the dark power once and for all. All Bladers are family and Ryuga is part of that family. So, we will not desert him. Our best weapon against evil is a heart that loves Beyblade. The Blader spirit rules. I've got to put all that spirit into Pegasus in order to win. I'm counting on everyone; I'm counting on you, Pegasus."

"Save me, you say?" Dark Ryuga mocked. "Enough babbling about things to come. There's no future for worms." he sent L-Drago's dark power into the sky.

"No matter what might go down here, I'm not going anywhere." Ginga was determined. "Are you with me, Pegasus?"

"Bad move, worm-boy." Dark Ryuga retorted, sending L-Drago to meet Storm Pegasus head-on.

"Here we go, everyone." Ginga answered the audience's encouragement. "Here goes my Pegasus and everyone's full power."

"Who cares?" Dark Ryuga sneered, countering, both epitomes of Light and Darkness clashed, taking their fight into space.

Storm Pegasus easily dodged L-Drago's energy beam and fired its rain of light-powered feathers on its opponent.

"Special Move: Galaxy Nova!" Ginga pulled out Storm Pegasus' ultimate attack.

"Calling Dark Move: Dragon Emperor Soaring Destruction!" Dark Ryuga countered.

The two energy beams fought for dominance until Storm Pegasus overpowered L-Drago and sending both Beys back to Earth.

"The thing to decides who wins a battle isn't the Bey's strength." Ginga told Dark Ryuga. "It's the Blader's spirit. Ryuga, take back your Blader's spirit."

The massive collision shattered L-Drago's Face-Bolt, destroying the evil tri-dragons and forcing L-Drago's dark aura out of Ryuga.

The Bey stadium finally broke down, sending Ginga and Ryuga pummeling downwards.

Just then, a silvery white energy sphere encased Ginga, slowing his descend.

"This energy..." Ginga instantly recognized the familiar aura. "Seina-nee?" he blinked, seeing a navy-blue transparent crystal orb appear above him. The crystal orb then continued to manifest its true form; twin rotating silver-white rings with stars and crescent moons appeared around the crystal. Asteria's sacred Astrolabe was finally completed with twin silver bands locking onto the top and bottom of the crystal. "Ryuga..." he turned to see Ryuga also locked in a similar energy bubble, L-Drago's dark aura was completely dispelled from his body.

"Ginga?" the confused Ryuga inquired, the two boys were lowered back onto the ground. "Is this... the power of the Goddess of the Stars?" he wondered outloud, the Astrolabe then vanished from sight.

"The winner is Ginga!" Blader DJ announced the result.

"Pegasus...?" Ginga gasped, the Bey dispelled into stardust and disappeared.

"You did it, Ginga." Kenta cheered, the others running in. "You won against L-Drago."

"Looks like we missed all the fun." Hikaru noted.

"You truly did well, Ginga." Ryūsei praised. "Because you worked so hard, all your friends' spirits became one for the first time."

"But dad." Ginga started. "Pegasus has... disappeared."

"I'm afraid so." Ryūsei admitted, Ryuga having picked up the shattered L-Drago and left. "In the final battle with L-Drago, Pegasus fought so hard that it must have used up all of the power that it possessed. In order to win the dark force, Pegasus had the use of everyone's power. But it kept fighting past its limits. Just don't worry about it right now, Ginga. Once it has rested its wings under Asteria's care, there's a good chance that it will regain its strength and return.

In the inner chambers of the Temple of Mist Valley...

"You've worked hard, Pegasus." Asteria let the utterly exhausted Pegasus rest its head on her lap. "Stay and rest well."
