Chapter 10: The Guardian of the Temple, Dynamis
Sometime later...
"Fresh air again." Ryuto remarked, Ginga managing to smash through the rock slab blocking their way.
"So, we made it to the summit at last." Ginga declared.
"Who knows?" Yuki shrugged.
"As usual, we can't see anything in this mist." Madoka added.
"Sometimes I think we're never gonna reach the temple where the Legendary Blader is." Ginga whined.
"Chosen Ones," Dynamis' voice echoed in the distance. "You, who were chosen by the Star Fragment; you have done well in to make it this far. I am the Guide of the Stars. The Stars have already told us that the warriors determined by fate would come to my temple."
"Then, we have reached the ancient temple, after all." Madoka noted.
"I don't see a temple around here anywhere." Ginga looked around.
"The wings of the white god will point the way for a true warrior." Dynamis started. "You must come with wisdom and power combined. Only then will the real door be opened. It is all as the stars have shown."
"Let's just keep moving." Ryuto suggested after Dynamis' voice faded off. "If we continue going forward, we should be able to figure it out."
"What is that?" Yuki gasped when the mist suddenly cleared and Stonehenge-like structures appeared in front of the group.
"It's the ruins left by an ancient civilization." Ryuto instantly recognized the structures.
"So, this is the temple?" Ginga gawked.
"We have to keep going." Yuki insisted. "We might be able to find out something we don't know yet about the Star Fragment."
"This must be the temple where the guardian of the ruins is." Ginga ran towards the temple in the middle of the square.
"Is this the entrance?" Madoka blinked, the group was standing in front of a large door.
"The key to opening this door must be here somewhere." Yuki concluded. "We just have to look harder."
"Something is curved on here." Ryuto noticed a paragraph etched on the door.
"Just maybe, if we can decipher these, they will tell us how to open the door." Madoka pulled out her electronic translator. "It may take a long time to figure this out. We don't know when this civilization that respected Beys existed or what kind of language they used. So, analyzing it would be difficult."
"In the meantime, the rest of us can search for more clue around here." Ryuto proposed.
Later that night...
"The air is so clear here, you can really see the stars." Yuki turned to the starry night sky. "Cygnus, the swan constellation; it's so pretty. The wings of the white god..." he recalled. "That's it." he climbed back to the ruins to test out his theory. "I knew it. This is an ancient astronomical observatory. The wings of the white god most likely refers to the constellation Cygnus. There must be a pillar among all these stones that corresponds to Cygnus. That will hold the answer to this puzzle."
"Among the stone pillars, some of them have holes in them and others don't." Ryuto supplied. "If we connect only those pillars with the holes, then..." he sketched out the diagram in his notebook. "That's it. The holes are just big enough for a Bey to pass through. If we pass a Bey through the pillars that form the constellation Cygnus, that will undoubtedly be the key that opens the door."
"And I think we all know which one of us has the best control." Ginga grinned. "Yuki, you have to take care of this."
"The door is opening." Madoka gaped, the metal door sliding upwards after Yuki passed his Bey through the holes.
"We finally made it." Ginga declared, the group running in.
"Congratulations." Dynamis praised on his stone chair. "You have done well to decipher the hint we gave you."
"Just who are you anyway?" Kyoya demanded.
"Stay down, Kyoya." Ginga warned. "He's the guardian of these ruins.
"My name is Dynamis." Dynamis introduced himself. "I am the guardian of this temple and the warriors' guide as well. It has been a long time since anyone has come here. It does appear that you are worthy of meeting with me."
"You said you knew we were coming here." Yuki spoke.
"In that case, you must also know why we've come here." Ginga added.
"You are referring to the Star Fragment." Dynamis concluded.
"If you already know about it, that'll make this easy." Ryuto cut in. "Tell us where the Star Fragment is. Hand over the Star Fragment and quickly."
"I cannot do that." Dynamis refused. "Because only those warriors determined by the Star Goddess are able to possess the Star Fragment. The Star Fragment you are searching for already resides in this Jade Jupiter I hold in my hand."
"Please, Dynamis." Yuki pleaded. "Will you lend that power to us? I beg you. A great evil is trying to revive the Black Sun; the God of Destruction, Nemesis. That can't happen."
"There is no need for you to tell me about that." Dynamis informed his fellow Solar System Beyblader. "I am the guardian of this great temple and protector of the Star Goddess. My Lady has always been able to learn everything through the movement of the stars above it. I follow the guidance of my Lady. However, before that, I must first judge you. It is my duty to judge whether or not you are worthy to be here."
"You mean you want to test our strength." Kyoya grinned. "I will be your opponent."
"That is fine." Dynamis accepted the challenge.
"Why you..." Kyoya glared at Ryuto who had cut in.
"Go ahead and judge me." Ryuto retorted. "In exchange, if I win this battle, then that Bey with the Star Fragment in it will belong to me."
"You're a fool." Dynamis tsked.
"Slice them apart, Dragonis." Ryuto ordered.
"That won't happen." Dynamis corrected, allowing Ryuto's full-out attack. "Jupiter, Satellite Move." he shifted his Fusion Wheel from defense mode to endurance mode, reflecting Dragonis' assault.
"Special Move: Hammer Bolt!" Ryuto fired off his attack.
"So, you still do not understand." Dynamis rebuked. "I'm sorry, but there is no way you can win against me. I admire your persistence. But unfortunately, the Star Fragment is not something that can be taken from another and make one's own. Those who hold the Star Fragment pieces each have their own role to play. It is a destiny that has been decided since the first Star Goddess descended from the Heavens. No one can defy the will of the Goddess. It is time to end this battle now. Jupiter, Special Move: Grand Lightning!" he struck Dragonis out with a lightning bolt. "Which one of you is next?"
SailorStar9: Now that's done, read and review.
