"Oooh…my arm." Paige moaned softly. This time she remembered why their arm hurt. That memory helped her before their eyes opened. There was the barest glow of sunlight even as she remembered the last time she was awake. She'd found out what happened, that she was somehow only alive inside of Walter. Even though she could just make out she was in Walter's bedroom, their left hand grabbed at their chest. She sighed disappointedly that it hadn't been just a really bad nightmare. She could hear the slight sounds of someone getting a pot or something out of the kitchen cabinet.
She was relieved that no one else was there, she worried that Walter would bully Toby into making her wake up again. And then the thought of that, she wondered if she could rouse him.
"Walter?" Paige said softly. Hoping he would wake. She waited a few moments before thinking as loud as she could…"Walter!"
Paige sighed.
"Maybe I should just try and go back to sleep." Paige said as a tear ran down their cheek. Then she felt the pressure of their bladder and she grimaced. She'd been intimate with Walter many times during their year together, but to take their combined body to urinate seemed too much. She rolled onto their left side hoping it might relieve the pressure.
Paige grimaced at the pain from their right arm. While the arm hurt from the action, the pressure on their bladder did relax a bit. She smiled as she closed their eyes, hoping to go back to sleep and Walter could wake up and take care of things.
She sighed as their stomach grumbled at how hungry they were. She knew she couldn't fight both the hunger and the pressure to pee…She threw back the cover and half rolled and kicked their legs over the edge of the bed before sitting up. She saw Walter's phone and reached out and picked it up with their left hand. With all the pain in their right arm, she was glad she was left-handed. She checked and realized that it had just been a bit over a week since the accident.
She wondered how long it had been since they woke her up. She saw that Walter hadn't undressed before getting into bed last night. She sighed realizing how tired or perhaps despondent Walter had to have been. She got up and walked quietly into the bathroom after removing his suit. She thought of how he'd lived without her for nearly a month and then she died as far as he knew. Now to know she was alive inside of him, able to talk to her. She shook her head knowing she'd been unkind to him…again. She shouldn't have shut down on him like that.
She stared at the toilet for a moment, while she wasn't as tired as last night, she still opted to just sit down to pee. As well she thought the less she touched him…there, the less creepy it would seem. As she turned around from flushing the toilet she stopped to wash her hands. She paused to look at his reflection in the mirror over the sink. It really freaked her out at first. Normally when she saw Walter's reflection in the mirror, it was behind her own reflection. But now she felt like a vampire in front of Walter and only his reflection was cast back.
"I guess in some ways I am a vampire now…I only live leeching off of Walter." Paige thought as she stared at the reflection and a tear running down their cheek.
How many times had she stood in front of the sink and Walter stepped up behind her. His hands sliding around her waist. With the left side of his mouth curling upwards as their eyes met in the mirror and then he bent his head down to bite down on her shoulder.
Their eyes closed as Paige remembered the feeling of his teeth against her skin. His tongue lashing out after each bite, followed by a quick suction of his lips kissing that flesh before he repeated the action up her neck until he reached her ear.
Paige's breath came out in a staggering pace as that memory ravaged her feelings. And then she felt something she had never felt before. An almost negligible weight increase, followed by a pressure below their waist. Their eyes opened as Paige looked down and she gasped a bit as she realized Walter's manhood was hardening at her memory. She could feel it pressing into the front of the vanity as the blood rushed into the flesh. She could feel a familiar tingling in the muscles of their chest and it ran down to their abdomen.
Paige blushed as she hadn't counted on that. She looked at the shower and decided if she was going to be the one to eat breakfast, she better take a shower first. She hoped the shower would help distract that part of her and then his manhood could…stop.
The water felt good as it cascaded down their body and she was happy he hadn't gotten rid of her favorite brands of care products. The scent of her shampoo had a stronger effect on her than she ever felt before. And rather than relaxing his manhood, the scent seemed to elicit an even stronger response. She felt like slapping herself, after they became intimate, Walter had a hard time keeping his hands off her when they were alone. She recalled how Walter was always unbelievably more passionate after she showered and the scents were strongest. She chose to use his soap to wash their skin with, but she still struggled against the feelings as she began to wash their body.
The scratchy, scrap like feeling of the loofah on their nipples drew a sharp gasp from Paige. "Maybe this was a really bad idea." Paige thought. But she needed to finish the shower…but every bit of skin she washed with the loofah came alive.
Paige groaned. "Great, now Walter's manhood is fully erect." She thought and then just as quickly thought. "How many times have I touched him intimately? Why is this so difficult? It's just a shower." She thought as she resolutely soaped up their left hand and reached down to wash his flesh. But as soon as their hand touched the skin of his manhood, while it felt good, it felt…off. She seemed to understand, Walter must use his right hand. It was a struggle, but after she changed hands she felt an exhilarating rush through their body. She blushed as she made the decision and wrapped their fingers around his manhood. She marveled at the different sensation. As she gripped his manhood, her arm was in a different position than any time she'd touched Walter like this, but to their hand it felt…right. But the feeling from his manhood, created by the pressure from their hand squeezing it, followed by moving their hand up and down the shaft was something else…
She had to stop…the pain in their right arm was too much. "Well, if you really want this, you'll have to put up with me doing it with my left hand." Paige thought before she switched hands.
"Good morning Grandma." Ralph said as he came around the corner and walked towards the kitchen area.
"Good morning sweetheart." Louise smiled. "Oh, I thought you were taking a shower."
"No, apparently it is Dad. Or maybe Mom." Ralph said as he smiled. "I'm really glad neither of them woke up screaming."
Louise smiled weakly and nodded as she looked back at the stove. She didn't like the idea that Paige might have woken up in charge of Walter's body. She didn't begrudge Paige being able to live. And she wouldn't want to deny Ralph time with his Mom but what about her son?
"Did you have any preference for breakfast?" Louise asked over her shoulder.
"An omelet with salsa?" Ralph asked hopefully.
Louise chuckled as she nodded.
"Good morning." Paige said as she came around the corner and saw Ralph, Louise and Sean sitting at the table.
"Mom?" Ralph said softly at the tone and inflections Walter said that with.
Paige smiled and nodded.
Ralph jumped up and ran over to her to hug her.
"Is Dad okay?" Ralph asked as they broke their hug.
"As far as I know. He hasn't spoken to me since I woke up earlier." Paige told him softly.
"Well come on over here for breakfast dear. I've got eggs already scrambled and ready to cook, or if you'd like an omelet I can do that too." Louise said as she got up and readied to cook the eggs for Paige.
"Scrambled is fine Louise, thank you." Paige said as she walked over and sat at the same time. "I know this has to be weird for you guys too."
"It definitely isn't an everyday occurrence." Sean chuckled.
"Do you know how you woke up?" Ralph asked as he helped secure their right arm in the harness.
"Not really…I just felt the pain in my right arm. But since I knew what had happened, I wasn't shocked like normal when I realized I didn't have breasts." Paige explained.
"Huh…so that must be what some of the screams we'd heard from Dad were." Ralph told her as he walked over and poured a glass of orange juice. "I had thought it was because you were reliving the moments before you were struck by the eradicator. I know the other day it was because of the memory. But maybe some of them were from you just waking up as you are now. I can understand how that would freak you out."
"I guess…when was the last time Walter ate? Because I'm starving." Paige told them even as Ralph sat the juice in front of her.
"Thank you baby." Paige smiled.
"Dinner with us last night." Sean told her.
"Yeah, Dad's been eating a lot more the last four days or so now. He really packs it away at meal times and within a couple of hours he says he is already feeling hungry again." Ralph told her as he sat down.
"Aye and by meal time he's famished again." Sean nodded.
"So Walter's not conscious right now?" Louise asked as the eggs cooked.
"If he is, he's not trying to communicate with me." Paige sighed. "I wish he was, it would be nice to have his calm voice helping me deal with these feelings."
"Good morning everyone." Veronica said as she came up the stairs.
"Mom?" Paige said sharply. "Oh, that's right, you were here last night too."
"Paige?" Veronica said quietly. "Are you in control?"
Paige nodded even as Veronica moved over and they hugged as Veronica bent over and took her in her arms.
"Is it safe for you to be here?" Paige asked quickly as they broke the hug.
"Should be. The guys I owed money to are in prison in Texas. I'm not taking any chances though. I'm doing everything as covertly as I can as well as I'm not leaving the Garage." Veronica smiled.
"Did you just want coffee, biscuit and bacon this morning Veronica?" Louise asked as she brought the huge plate of breakfast to Paige.
Paige stared at the amount of food wondering how Walter ate it all.
"Thank you Louise, that would be lovely." Veronica smiled before she sat down.
"So you just woke up this morning, no dream or memory of the accident, no screams? And no Walter's voice?" Toby asked as he sat next to the chair Paige was in as he checked her vitals.
"Pretty much." Paige nodded.
"Anything else different?" Happy asked quietly.
"Well I'm constantly getting thoughts I don't normally have. Like I'll suddenly begin calculating angles, or assigning variables to things people are doing…" Paige sighed.
"That must be Walter's mind influencing you." Sylvester told her.
"Okay, I just talked to Katherine and she's taking Scorpion off the active list until we can figure this out." Cabe said as he walked back into the Garage.
"Can Scorpion survive without Homeland cases?" Paige asked worriedly.
"As long as Dad comes out and fulfills his contracts we should be okay. I could probably handle the programming jobs if needed." Ralph told her. "I also sent a message to your friends that we are postponing your memorial."
"This is so messed up." Paige said sadly.
"Well, all your numbers are checking out." Toby told her as he took the blood pressure cuff off of their arm. "So that's a good thing. Sly also hacked me into the hospital's records for Walter last night so I've been going over all that data."
"So when is Walter going to wake up?" Paige asked.
"That's the sixty-four thousand dollar question." Toby smirked. He nodded as Happy backhanded his arm. "Okay, but we have no idea really, I was just being cute, not a smart ass. At least from what Ralph and Cabe have said, other than the early mornings, you were never awake until we hypnotized Walter last night. My instincts say we give this a little time and see what happens. If Walter doesn't become conscious before tomorrow, then tomorrow we can try to hypnotize you and see if we can bring him back out."
Paige sighed just as they heard air brakes from a large truck engage outside.
"What's that?" Sylvester asked just before the door opened and a man walked in with a clipboard.
"Walter O'Brien?" He asked, looking at the people around the desks.
"Uh, he had to step out for a few minutes. Can I help you?" Cabe asked.
"Morning, I'm Stan with Acme Movers. We've got all the items from the condo with us. Where did he want us to put them?" Stan asked.
"Oh, that's right." Cabe nodded. "He told me you would be moving it all yesterday."
"Yes, we were supposed to have it done last night, unfortunately our other truck broke down so we called and left a voicemail that we'd be here this morning." Stan explained.
"Ah, makes sense. Walter probably forgot to mention it. Let me show you where it all goes." Cabe said as he gestured up the ramp.
The man gestured out the door before following Cabe up the ramp.
"What's this?" Paige said softly to Ralph.
"Last week Dad set this up, to have them move everything from our condo to the Garage." Ralph explained quietly.
They watched as six movers brought in boxes and furniture and set everything neatly at the bottom of the ramp and then went out to get more. Once Stan came back down with Cabe he had four of the movers begin taking things up the ramp and showed them where it all went.
Cabe's cellphone began beeping the warning alert and he quickly pulled it out.
His eyes opened wide as he read the message that came in the alert. He swallowed hard as he looked at Paige.
"What?!" Paige said worried.
"There was a massive explosion at Beauchamp's eradicator site. At least four are confirmed dead, five missing." Cabe explained.
Greetings! I hope this finds you all well! For those that might not have seen, I updated "Dark Walter" this past week. It doesn't show up on the normal search list because it is M rated. You either have to specifically tell FFN to show you M rated fics or go to a writer's profile page to find them.
Railman - Glad you enjoyed it. Looks like there might be a problem buying the equipment now. lol A bit of similarity with both those stories, though this time, rather than research quantum entanglement they are actually trying to develop matter transporters like in Star Trek.
Lucy - Yeah, trying to find a balance in their inner conversation was interesting too. lol Mad billionaire indeed! Along with geniuses dealing with grief!
LouBe - Thanks! It was a wonderful time. I've got most of the concert recorded to a body cam, but, I'd never used one before and so the audio is horrific when they are playing and singing. I was so disappointed about that. But, my own fault. Thank you! It was a lot of fun and work trying to work out a balance between them, but so far I really like how it has come out. I feel the same about a solution to this, I know where the Muse is headed with it, but that doesn't mean I have to go willingly! lol Yup, Paige did and she realizes she was wrong for doing that last night and she really didn't like the idea of intruding on Walter's life. But here she didn't get a choice. lol Walter definitely will never see himself as important to Ralph as Paige is, that's true. Yes, both Walter and Ralph last chapter...*sigh* Happy too...I did feel a little sorry for Toby. While he definitely wouldn't have cared to cause some pain and angst to Walter, this definitely is way over the top and causing him lots of grief. You're welcome, I was pretty sure I had...I was going to be so embarrassed if I hadn't mentioned that Robert was working for Richard. lol I kind of felt that DW vibe as well! So glad you are enjoying the story so much!
Pearliegirl - Lots of feels in this one for sure, sorry, but not really...? LOL What do you mean don't let them have sex? LOL Well, they didn't have sex, but Paige did take something for a test drive...LOL So if that was what you didn't want to happen, umm...sorry? lol
James - Not give up, she doesn't want to intrude...or take away from Walter's life might be a better way of putting it. She just doesn't yet understand the depth of his love for her, what he's willing to sacrifice for her. She definitely has a bit of a self-deprecation in this instance. Ralph is definitely motivated more now than ever! And Richard can be a scary person, no doubt. Walter will definitely be all in on sharing his time with Paige...Right now it seems they don't have a choice. Early bird gets the worm kind of thing? lol I'm glad the story brings your Mom back up to you, may it continue to do so! I will do my best, you take care too and we'll see where the story goes next Sunday!
To the Adventure! -Tim
