Lock Down, Lock Up
"Aren't you meant to be on SuperEarth?" Mon asked Kayla coyly as they both sat on the boat on Twin Earth.
"I needed a few days off before I went there. They can wait," Kayla mused. "Plus, I needed to spend some time with you."
"Worried SuperEarth won't let me in?" Mon mused.
"Well, no, but… I mean how exactly would I say to them I'm not a solo package anymore?" Kayla pointed out.
"You just give them an ultimatum. 'I have someone, they're joining me'," Mon mused.
"Bit harsh," Kayla voiced. "But I suppose you're right."
"I know I am," Mon chuckled. "And you were right, too; I really enjoyed fishing," Mon mused now as Kayla tossed the rope to him so he could tie down the boat. "Come to think of it, where is your Twin alternate and her husband who own this boat?"
"Africa, I think," Kayla said. "They run a nature blog for CatCo. Got an RV so they shipped the RV there. They have their nearly two-year-old with them. They said I could use the boat whenever I want. They like having someone take it out and take care of it. Plus, since I have you with me, people just think I am Kara."
"Even with the dark hair?" Mon asked.
"I' not dying it blonde," Kayla snapped, Mon laughing at this.
"Oh, but what do they think about him?" Mon asked, pointing behind Kayla who turned around to see Cisco there.
"Junior, when did you get there?" Kayla asked.
"Oh, a while ago, but I stayed below deck until you were finished. Didn't want to interrupt your date," Cisco said. "Hi Mon." Mon gave a wave at him. "Well, pack your fish in an ice box and come on. We've got to go now."
"Why?" Kayla sighed, thinking at least Cisco hadn't rushed them this time as she took their catches and went below deck; Cisco and Mon followed her as Kayla put the fish away.
"We need to go to Lockup Earth," Cisco said.
"There's an Earth named Lockup?" Mon asked.
"Yes, Bounty named it," Cisco explained. "See, Lex Luthor framed Lena for a crime he committed, specifically, killing Clark." Kayla's hand went around the bucket she was holding, denting it a bit – the killing of Clark was always a tricky subject for her, having seen her own Clark killed before her very eyes. "The way he killed Clark caused Kara's powers to go haywire and she accidently killed some people and got put to jail for it being called a wild murderer..." Cisco continued, the bucket denting some more, "and now Lex Luthor is President of the United States!" The bucked cracked completely in half, only now did Cisco and Mon realized the damage she had inflicted on the item, as Mon raised an eyebrow.
"I can see why it's called Lockup, with their Kara and Lena in jail," Mon stated simply.
"Well, I didn't do much when Bounty named the Earth and put a description in, but then Prime Barry and New Justice Rae went to save a Mick they had trapped in their Vanishing Point – long story, don't ask – and I decided to pay a bit more attention to it. And we need to go there," Cisco said.
"The urgency now?" Mon asked.
"You have arrived," Cisco said, making Mon raise an eyebrow. "Well, your alternate with a united army of Daxamites and Kryptonians and you're demanding Kara. Lex Luthor is not taking it well. The Earth is on the brink of war with the two races. Barry and Caitlin there are trying to stop it and I think we can help them lessen this."
"And this doesn't go against the multiverse code of honor?" Mon asked.
"On the line, but as long as we don't just go and kill Lex and just lead Barry and Caitlin in the right directions we should be fine," Cisco said.
"A murderer of my cousin is not allowed to be President," Kayla finally said – even on her world, her Clark's murderer was never closed to ruling the country, that went to Leonard Snart, who was weirdly good at the job before she left. "Come on, let's go."
-Hitchhikers Guide-
On Lockup Earth, the TV on the wall was on as Caitlin and Barry watched. The announcer was talking.
"The leaders of China and Russia were quick in announcing they were supportive of the idea of releasing Kara Zor-El to her people, and even United States' allies Britain and France announced their support of releasing the former Supergirl. In the end, the decision is up to President Lex Luthor on the fate of the person the Daxamites and Kryptonians are claiming as their Queen. The President will be making a speech tonight before the deadline given for Kara's release."
The power of the TV went off. "He's not going to do it," Barry said, knowing that as fact, turning to Caitlin who nodded her agreement with her boyfriend.
"Which is his right," a new voice spoke, and Bailey Allen came into the room.
"Why are you here?" Barry asked, his twin sister. "This lab belongs to me now. Harrison Wells left it to me in his will and I have reformed STAR Labs," it was true; Barry had even changed the name to Allen Science and Entertainment Facility.
"Just making sure you're not doing anything stupid," Bailey said.
"Like avoiding a war with two advance alien species," Barry pointed out. "She is their Queen."
"She's a murderer," Bailey said.
"Only because her powers were activated through a side effect of the weapon Lex Luthor used to kill Superman," Caitlin pointed out.
"Lena Luthor. And why are defending your fiancée's ex," Bailey said.
"Because she is a good person," Caitlin said. "And we…" Caitlin stopped as a blue portal opened in the room and out came Cisco, Kayla, and Mon.
"Cisco?" Caitlin seemed stunned and brought him into a hug fast.
"Well, this is a nice welcome to a new world," Cisco said with a smile. "What do I owe the hug to?"
"You're dead," Barry said, making Cisco pout. "Eobard Wells killed you with Harrison Wells. Multiverse, right? I learned about this when I apparently helped with a prison break out I never did help with. It was one of my alternates." Barry stepped forward. "So, you must be a Cisco alternate who survived." Cisco gave a nod. "And you're an alternate of Kara with dark hair…?"
"Kayla, her twin sister," Kayla said with a smile. "And this is…"
"King Mon-El, the person currently threatening us," Bailey said.
"It's Prince Mon-El technically, but really, it's just Mon now. My world was destroyed anyway," Mon said.
"Damn," Caitlin bemoaned this revelation.
"Since my alternate died so early, I think you don't know about my powers," Cisco now explained. "I can hop to other Earths and also see into them. I saw what was going on here and well… we know a bit about Kryptonians and Daxamites. Plus, it doesn't sit well with us that Kara and Lena have been wrongfully imprisoned and Clark's real murderer in the White House. We figured we might be able to offer some advice and help," Cisco said, and Bailey groaned. "What's your problem? Oh, Bailey Allen, that's an unusual one."
"My problem is you talking about those two like they are innocent and our President like he is guilty," Bailey said.
"I don't understand why you are so brainwashed by Lex Luthor you won't even consider the evidence I have provided," Barry pointed out to his sister.
"It's because she never liked Kara," Caitlin explained.
Kayla whistled. "Oy, so, evidence?" Kayla asked. "What type of evidence?"
"We remade the machine that killed Superman to a much lesser degree and took Kryptonian skin samples," Caitlin said, moving the attention over to what looked like an over-the-top gun in the lab. "These skin samples we're going to destroy, and the ones over here will react as well," Caitlin lifted the gun and aimed it at the skin samples on the table.
As they were destroyed, Kayla gave a moan out and moved back, her eyes involuntarily lighting up for a moment. Then it lessened. "I guess we don't need to show you how the skin samples reacted," Caitlin said, putting down the weapon.
"That felt weird. Like I was overpowered," Kayla said, shaking off the feeling.
"Even I felt it," Mon said.
"See, and ours is a thousand times less powerful than the one Lex Luthor used," Barry said. "And do not correct me it was Lena. I know what I know. But this is all null because if Kara is not released the entire planet Earth is going to war."
"Yeah, what's that about?" Cisco asked.
"His alternate has sent a message. By laws, Kara is his promised bride and Queen to a new reunited civilization of Daxamite and Kryptonians. If she is not given to them they will start firing on Earth," Caitlin said. "He sounded very serious."
"Where's Wonder Woman? Can't her Lasso of Truth solve a lot of issues?" Kayla asked.
"Wow, Wonder Woman… that's a blast from the past. She hasn't been seen or heard of in a very long time. We all believed her dead," Barry said.
"It doesn't matter," Bailey said. "President Luthor…."
"Shut up," Barry said to this sister, the girl going red in the face at this.
"Okay, I can create a portal to this Earth's Mon," Cisco said, deciding not to address the sibling rivalry going on here. "Barry, why don't you come with us, and we can have a discussion with him? See if we can buy Earth a little more time before they will fire."
"Mon, go with Cisco," Kayla said taking her boyfriend away from the group. "You can be a buffer between Daxamite and Kryptonian culture to human culture."
"Where are you going?" Mon asked.
"Themyscira," Kayla answered.
-Hitchhikers Guide-
Cisco opened the portal right to the Throne Toom of Mon's ship where a bearded Mon was with only a very familiar brunette woman.
"Alura Zor-El!" Cisco had to say as he saw the woman. "It's Kara's mom!"
"I am aware," the Mon who arrived with them said.
"What is this?" King Mon said getting off his throne looking at his alternate. "Who are you?"
"You, from the multiverse," Mon said, and King Mon looked at him with a cocked head and then gave a nod.
"I'm from the multiverse too, but Barry here is from Earth below. We brought him to give you a word," Cisco said.
"Mon, maybe we should hear them out. This is Barry Allen, who has released all that evidence of Kara's innocents," Alura said.
"You know of that?" Barry asked, seeming surprised.
"We monitored all Earth communications before sending out our message to your planet," King Mon said. "And we are thankful for the effort you have been trying to release Kara from her wrongful imprisonment."
"Then you know it's harder than it looks and your threat… well President Luthor," Barry rambled, practically hissing the name of their President. "He won't release her – too much personal gain for him to keep her imprisoned. You have to give us, who believe in her, more time."
"Unfortunately, we cannot," Alura said.
"Why not?" Mon asked. "What is going on? Why are you claiming Kara as your Queen, anyway?"
"When Krypton was destroyed, I sent Kara with Kal to Earth, but my husband also created a dome over the city of Argo which launched the city into space," Alura said.
"Daxam, on the other hand, created several large ships and managed to get a portion of our population into them – not as many as we wanted, due to Krypton's destruction before our prediction," King Mon explained. "As we traveled through a section of space that slowed time, we came upon Argo city."
"My husband had already died. The city wasn't doing well," Alura said. "I stepped up as leader when the council failed. Me and Lara. When Mon showed up, he rescued our people. There was more than enough room for the citizens. But Krypton and Daxam…"
"Enemies," Mon said with a nod.
"We needed to discover for a way for us to coexist," King Mon said. "Neither Daxam or Krypton have enough people to survive alone, but together we can."
"Mon and I made a plan. A royal family for the Daxamites, but also an elected council. We made a balance of powers," Alura said. "The royal family as the head, but there is only one way the Kryptonian would accept that."
"If an El was on the throne as well," Mon said, getting where this was going.
"Indeed," King Mon nodded.
"We knew the time had passed. Kara was old enough. I didn't know what her life on Earth was like but I took the chance she would agree to help her people. I signed the marriage contract. Kara would marry Mon and become Queen," Alura said. "And the people accepted it."
"They are working together, but when we saw Earth's news, Kara in jail and looked at all the evidence…" King Mon explained. "We knew she was innocent. So, we decided to give Earth a chance to give her to us peacefully. But if she is not out by the deadline I gave, I don't have a choice. If I don't attack to get her back, the peace between our people could fade."
Barry took a breath as he listened to everything.
"Do your people care who gives you Kara?" Barry asked.
"What?" King Mon asked.
"Do they care who gives you Kara? Does it need to be the President?" Barry asked.
"What are you offering?" Alura asked.
"The President is making a speech at the deadline – when he announces he will not release Kara, I will go and get her," Barry said, "and bring her to you."
"You would do this against your own people? Why?" King Mon asked.
"Because Kara is a good person being punished for something not her own doing. Because she was a hero who saved so many people. Because I don't want war and because she was my first love," Barry said, and Alura took a step back. "Take your pick on reason. But there is one condition."
"Oh?" King Mon asked.
"You also have to take Lena Luthor," Barry said.
"Deal," King Mon said and Barry held out a hand.
"You shake it," Mon said to his alternate, knowing this wasn't a Daxam tradition to shake hands, and King Mon took it.
"I'm not sure if this is good or bad," Cisco whispered to Mon.
"Let's hope Kayla has success," Mon whispered back.
-Hitchhikers Guide-
Kayla flew the familiar direction as fast as she could; she had been to Themyscira before on certain worlds, so she flew right through the protection on the island and was finally able to see the place. She didn't slow down as she flew over the island and then landed hard in the middle of the training ground, dirt blowing up upon her landing. She saw the Amazonians holding up their swords at her arrival, never people to take chances
"I mean you no harm," Kayla said to them. "I'm looking for Princess Diana."
"It's Queen Diana now," a familiar voice said, and Kayla had to smirk as Diana walked between her sisters and right in front of Kayla. "You wear Superman's symbol." Kayla's hand going to her crest, having created her outfit before flying here – knowing the status of the outfit would help her case. "He called it a family crest. Are you kin to Clark?"
"He's my cousin," Kayla said.
"Did he send you?" Diana asked.
"Clark is dead," Kayla said, and she could see that really did shake up Diana. The woman taking a step back and a deep breath in. "I need a word. In private."
Diana gave a nod and indicated for Kayla to follow, her telling her sisters to continue training as Diana brought Kayla to the Throne Room, Diana going for her throne.
"Tell me what happen to Clark," Diana commanded as she sat down.
"Oh, I have a lot to tell you," Kayla said, and Kayla started the story of what she'd learned: First explaining to Diana about the multiverse and who exactly she was – Diana seemed to take that with no issue – then Kayla told Diana about how Clark died, the machine Lex used and framing his sister, with Kara own powers reacting to the use of the machine and going haywire, causing her to accidentally kill several people; how the two were imprisoned for the crimes of Lex and how Lex was now President; finally she explained about King Mon and the war Earth was about to be in. "…and that is why I came to you. Your Lasso of Truth can solve so many issues here – force Lex to reveal what he really did."
"It can," Diana said with a nod. "I can let you borrow…"
"No, it can't be me," Kayla said, shaking her head. "As far as the world is concerned, my face is that of a killer. It has to be Wonder Woman. They will trust you. You might be the only person they will trust," Kayla didn't know what exactly was going on with Barry as the Flash or his sister – whatever name she went by – but she doubted the two would earn the same trust as Wonder Woman, who as Barry had stated, was 'a blast from the past' – there was history with Wonder Woman.
"I can't leave the Island. My people need a Queen here," Diana said, and Kayla noticed the word, the way the words were said. Need a Queen.
"Wow, Lockup was a good name for this Earth. Lena and Kara wrongfully imprisoned, Mick was trapped by his Legends in the Vanishing Point, and now here you are in a prison of your own making," Kayla said. "You don't want to be here. You don't want to be Queen."
"I never did," Diana admitted. "But while I was away, my Island was attacked. My mother led our people to victory, but she didn't make it. I am heir to the throne. I had no choice but to come back and take the crown. With Clark defending the world of man, I thought…"
"What about your sister? Or some girl named Emma?" Kayla asked.
"Emma," Diana said making a face at that name. "Donna is next in line. Should I abdicate my throne, she would be Queen. She is very young though."
"The world needs Wonder Woman," Kayla pointed out.
"My people need a Queen," Diana countered.
"They need a Queen who wants to be here," Kayla corrected. "And that's not you." Diana and Kayla stared at each other for a moment, and then Diana gave a nod.
-Hitchhikers Guide-
When Cisco, Mon and Barry had returned to the Labs, Barry told Caitlin about his deal. Bailey was still hanging around though.
"How could you promise that?!" Bailey now shouted at Barry.
"Because it's the right thing to do," Barry said back to his sister, quite calmly. "Lex Luthor is going to get us into a war that will kill thousands of humans. We have no way to fight them back."
"You were just on their ship. He could bring us…" Bailey started, now pointing at Cisco.
"Nope," Cisco interrupted. "I'm not helping attack Mon and Alura."
"I'm not going to let you do this. I'll stop you, Flash," Bailey said.
"Try it, Impulse," Barry snapped back. "We all know I am faster than you."
"Yeah, because the Speed Force favors Barrys," Cisco said without thinking, making eyes go to him. "I said that out loud, didn't I?"
"Yep," Mon said back to Cisco.
"Well at least Gender Earth's Bailey was at that Monitor meeting of speedsters before Crisis," Cisco said now.
"What are you talking about?" Bailey asked, still annoyed.
"Calm down, all of you," Kayla said, coming into the room. "And turn on the TV to the President's speech. I think you're going to want to see this."
"Best idea anyone had today," Bailey sighed at the suggestion.
Caitlin turned on the TV though, a news anchor was on.
"And as the deadline approaches, President Luthor is taking the stage to give his speech," the news anchor said. "Let's listen in..."
The camera switched to a stage set up and Lex Luthor was coming to the front.
"This is a dark time, peoples of America and of the world, but we cannot let…" Lex started his prepared speech but was interrupted as a golden rope suddenly went around his waist. "No, you… you're dead," the camera moved and showed Diana, who had landed besides Lex, holding the opposite end of the rope.
"Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated," Diana said, quoting Mark Twain almost word-for-word there. "You are in Hestia's Lasso, sometimes called the Lasso of Truth. While in it, I can compel you to tell the truth."
"Someone, shoot her!" Lex yelled, but the secret service didn't move.
"Tell the truth, my Lex"' Diana said, the Lasso glowing. "Who killed Clark Kent? Who killed Superman?"
"Le… I… I did," Lex said, almost through gritted teeth. "I made the weapon," now he wasn't trying to stop himself – he couldn't under the Lasso's influence. "I framed my sister, and I killed Superman."
"And Kara… why did her powers go haywire?" Diana asked.
"A side effect," Lex said. "I was really hoping the excess energy from Superman's death would kill her too, but it just caused her heat vision to go wild. When the idiot, Impulse, didn't believe in her innocence though, it gave me the perfect jumping point – a way to get these morons to elect me."
Diana walked up to Lex and punched him on the nose. Drawing blood. "Clark Kent was my friend," Diana said. "If it was up to me, I would put my sword through your chest right now. Someone, take him."
The secret service jumped into action there and then, grabbing Lex as Diana took the Lasso off him. "Unhand me! I am still your President!" Lex yelled.
"No," a new voice said coming up.
"Is that Joel Foster?" Kayla asked, watching the feed as the man stepped forward. She recognized Cat's sometimes-husband, Adam Foster's father.
"Vice President Foster," Caitlin supplied.
"You are unfit for office, Mr. Luthor," Joel said to Lex. "Lock him up somewhere and don't take your eyes off him," Joel went over to the microphone. "King Mon-El of Daxam, if you could just give us some time to sort this mess, I promise I will get Kara Zor-El released. We just need time to do it properly. I am sure I can speak for the Speaker of the House and Head of the Senate when I say we will do this as fast as possible."
Joel stepped back and Diana flew away, the news changing back a shocked anchor.
"Told you so," Barry said to his sister, who was speechless herself.
"He called me an idiot," Bailey breathed, still in shock and referencing Lex calling Impulse the abusive name.
"Cisco, can we go talk to King Mon again?" Barry turned to Cisco, unsure what to say to his sister so changing topic. "Make sure he will give the time." Cisco gave a nod at this.
-Hitchhikers Guide-
It was the fastest impeachment in the history of the United States. With King Mon-El agreeing to give them a few more days to sort out their government, but the threat of war still over their heads if Kara was not with him soon, it was agreed to do it all in one day.
And so, the next day the House met and went over all the evidence – Diana even showed up to show off her Lasso to make sure no one could try to claim it was a trick. Barry had been flown out to go over his evidence too so that Lex's lawyers could barely argue. It only took a few hours before the vote, which was near unanimous, to impeach. It was then walked over to the Senate, where the Head put removal of Lex to a vote right away. Once again, it was near unanimous and for the first time in United States' history that a President was removed from office.
That night, Joel Foster took the oath of office.
The day after, a large group was gathered outside the prison that Kara and Lena were being held in. President Joel Foster was there.
"Well, who told you the truth about Lex Luthor?" Joel had to sigh as Cat Grant walked up to him, having asked the question.
"How did you get pass the Secret Service?" Joel asked.
"Apparently, being your ex-wife and mother to your daughter has some advantages," Cat said.
"I don't need my ex-wife to tell me 'I told you so' right now," Joel said back.
"Oh, but you will be getting it for the rest of your life," Cat remarked.
"There's a reason Annie isn't here," Joel said, looking around; King Mon-EL was there along with a woman who said she was Kara's mother. Lois Lane was with her, along with her and Clark's kids. Alura had taken the two pre-teens into her arms right away in a hug. They were standing back, waiting. All the heroes were there as well: Flash and Wonder Woman standing next to each other. The only one not present was Impulse.
Kayla was standing back so people didn't see her face, but she and Cisco had decided to stay to see this – her Mon had gone back to Twin now, not wanting too much confusion with two Mon-Els around now.
It was soon Annie Grant, warden of the prison, came out with both Lena and Kara. Both were in orange jumpsuits and Kara had cuffs on. Both were both as shocked by the events of the past 24 hours as everyone else, so were going through the motions.
Joel Foster stepped toward to the two, the camera following him.
"As President of the United States, I fully pardon your sentence," Joel said giving Annie a nod and the cuffs were taken off Kara. "And on behalf of myself and a sorry nation, please accept my humble apology."
"Um…. What exactly happened?" Lena asked looking at Kara.
"We got you out," it was Barry stepping forward and Kara went over to hug him.
"How?" Kara asked.
"We had a little multiverse help," Barry said, pointing at Kayla and Cisco who waved. "Plus, Wonder Woman can take a lot of the credit." Diana gave a nod to Kara. "And really they were the catalyst for the whole thing."
That was then that Kara's attention turned to Mon and Alura.
"Mom…?" Kara asked, not believing it and ran over to Alura at superspeed, hugging her mother.
"My daughter," Alura said, putting her arms around Kara. "Kara, this is Mon-El. He was Prince of Daxam, but now he is King of a United Daxam and Krypton colony… and you are to be his Queen."
"Excuse me?" Kara asked.
"It's the way to keep peace between our two people. Me and you, rule together," King Mon-El said. "If you so wish."
"You know, I could get off this world," Kara said with a nod. "Will you be okay?" Kara turned to Barry as she said this line.
"Go," Barry said with a smile. "I'll be fine."
"Lena, you coming?" Kara asked.
"I'm invited," Lena said; she had been seeming lost since Kara started hugging people.
"I can't go anywhere without you," Kara said. "And as Queen, I can have anyone I want by my side, correct?"
"You can have any advisor or lover, you may wish," Mon-El said, it being the Daxam way that one wasn't traditionally betrothed to one husband/wife. Kara blushed but didn't say anything as Lena ran over to the group and Kara put an arm around Lena.
"Lois, are you coming?" Kara asked as Alura and Mon led them to where their small ship was parked while media continued to take pictures and senior persons from both the government and the prison started taking interviews.
"Yes," Lois said. "The weapon that killed Clark and sent you haywire also hurt the kids. Alura thinks she can help them. So, we're going with you," Kara looked at her niece and nephew for the first time in years – they did seem off, but it had been years since she saw them. Kara decided to ask more later as they entered the ship.
Joel watched them go, biting his lip now.
"Damn," Joel mumbled. "I was going to ask Lena to be Vice President once her record was completely cleared."
"Really?" Cat asked.
"It would have looked good," Joel said.
"Going to have to figure out someone else," Cat said.
"How about you?" Joel asked and Cat gave him a look as she walked away without comment.
Meanwhile, Kayla went over to Diana.
"So, what will you do now?" Kayla asked the two, they now walking away from the crowds so no one would see Kayla's face. "Back to Themyscira?"
"I abdicated my throne. Donna is queen now," Diana said. "And the World of Men is a mess – I think I will collect heroes and make something so we could work together."
"Like a Justice League or Society," Kayla said with a smirk.
"I like that," Diana said with a nod. "But I think your friend is indicating it's time for you to go," Kayla turned to see Cisco was a bit impatient.
"He always likes to rush," Kayla chuckled. "Well, goodbye Diana and good luck," Kayla said as she went over to Cisco, and the two left.
-Hitchhikers Guide-
Kayla was back on Twin, holding one of her journals – she needed to write about Lockup.
"Want some help?" Mon asked. "I have some insights on the events," he added.
"No, I think I got this," Kayla said, kissing his cheek as she started to write.
Today we went to a world named Lockup by Bounty Earth. Kayla started. They named it because of Kara and Lena being wrongfully imprisoned by Lex Luthor, who became President of the world. Since then, we found out the Legends of that world left Mick locked in the Vanishing Point, where Prime Barry and New Justice Rae released him. I do wonder who those Legends are... we never met them. But I also found out Diana was Queen of Themyscira, but a prison of her own since she didn't want to be there. Lockup Earth indeed.
That world's history was grim though: Lex Luthor killed their Clark with a weapon that caused Kara's powers go haywire and kill innocents, then framed his very own sister to get both Kara and Lena locked up for life! When we arrived, the Daxamites and Kryptonians of the world had turned up, wanting Kara released from prison so their joint culture could survive so long as their Kara married their Mon-El. I wouldn't object to that arrangement, Kayla chuckled at her own wording, glancing to her Mon who smiled back at her.
Anyway, I convinced Diana to abdicate her throne and return, Kayla continued. Her Lasso of Truth took care of Lex Luthor, who was forced to reveal the truth he'd kept secret for so long, and the world stepped up. Now Joel Foster is President, having been Lex's Vice President. I bet Cat Grant will have fun having the President's number on speed dial.
Diana indicated she will be making the Justice League of that world. Kayla smirked at this. She's didn't name it, but I pushed it that way. I think it's a good idea and definitely has to be Diana that does it – I don't think any other hero on that world could. Barry is the Flash and runs STAR Labs under a new name, but I can't see him putting together that group. Barry's twin sister, Bailey is in no condition to start a League, either.
On that note, Barry and his twin Bailey might be the most mess up siblings in the multiverse, Kayla had to chuckle as she wrote this, and that includes New Justice Rae and her Barry. I really don't know what was up with Bailey. She seems like a good person, but she was so brainwashed by the situation and by Lex that she fell for the story hook line and sinker. I didn't see her after Diana forced Lex to tell the truth and she didn't show up when Kara and Lena were released. I hope she gets her head together, apologize, and they can move on. If New Justice Rae can forgive her Barry, I think Lockup Barry can forgive his Bailey. Weird parallels there.
I now need to head over to SuperEarth to cover for their Kara. Kayla concluded. Been a while since I've been there, so I look forward to any changes they've had since my last visit. Will be interesting with their Kara and Alex Danvers as sisters, as that seemed to have faded a lot in this multiverse – I don't have much to do with Alex Danvers' these days.
"You should write Cisco sucks at the end again," Mon spoke up to Kayla, who laughed at this
"That was you who wrote that anyway," Kayla pointed out.
"Either way, you better not," Cisco's voice came to them, both noticing another, smaller, portal briefly open before them.
"Stop spying!" Kayla snapped, throwing a nearby book into the portal.
"Ouch!" Cisco's voice complained as the book came back and the portal closed. Both Kayla and Mon burst into laughter at this as Kayla closed her own journal. She had written all she needed to on Lockup Earth after all.
Post Chapter Note: Well, we hope you liked that – and some hints there as to what to expect with the upcoming SuperEarth added in. Please don't hate on this Bailey, too as she was just a victim of circumstance, after all. If we do revisit Lockup, we hope to show some growth to her – she is the only other Bailey in the multiverse so far after Gender Earth, after all!
