"Come out come out wherever you are." The angered hunter taunts as the wounded legacy skirts around the cover of another tree trunk.
The stinging burn of silver had made her right arm all but useless as she once again re-tied the makeshift bandage around the injury her fanged teeth gritted tight against the pain. Her left leg wasn't fairing much better, nor was the itching slash Jack had made against her cheek, but Juliette once again pushed the pain away as she tried to focus on just how to put more distance between herself and the tracking hunter trying to flush her out. But not even the burn of silver could block out the heartbreaking look in Cal's eyes when Juliette had begged her newly turned hunter to separate from her. "He wants me, not you. You're not a legacy yet, the silver will kill you." She'd argued over Cal's hushed attempts to remind her that she knew how her father fought so they would have a better shot of overpowering him fighting together than they were apart.
If she'd lived through this the legacy would pass on the little trick that came with ingesting hunter blood. That like a link up to the matrix Juliette now had a firsthand crash course in the Burns's hunting style imprinted in her mind as if she like Cal had grown up trained in all things monster hunting.
Too bad that knowledge decided to kick in only after she'd had her first run-in with the angered father and his intimidating silver spear. But she was ready this time.
"Oh, Jules."
Alright, she was ready for everything except that.
From what she could see around her newest hiding place was that Elinor had a beaten yet still struggling Cal in a headlock as the two staggered a few more steps into the low glow of the room's dimmed overhead lighting. The legacy lets out an angry hiss at the too cool purr in of no longer jailed sister's voice as Elinor continues speaking. "come on out little sister, else I'll have to hand your little pet over to her father sooner than I'm guessing either of you want." She threatens.
Juliette feels her heart drop like led at the very idea of what would happen should Jack Burns realize what had happened to his daughter. Cal might have been able to hold back before but Juliette wasn't about to risk her hunter's willpower considering the tempting flavor of the fresh traces of human blood on the air and she wasn't about to allow herself to even imagine what being close to the source would do to Cal's newly turned instincts.
"Get the hell away from my little girl, monster." Jack roars unintentionally helping the very vampire he was hunting so passionately by turning to attack the elder legacy.
Juliette made a quick limped dash towards Cal as Jack and Elinor skidded in a tangled mess of flailing limbs a few paces away. The hunter's silver spear had been knocked from his grip before it had even attempted to make contact with the elegantly dressed Elinor.
"Do you know how much this outfit costs?" Juliette hears her sister snarl over the sounds of ripping fabric as Jack struggled for some kind of hold once they've landed "and you call me the monster?"
"God Jules." Cal gasps seeing the still smoking slashed burns the weapon had made of her legacies' soft skin.
"I'm alright." Juliette groaned in an obvious lie as she leaned gratefully against her hunter's stronger embrace.
"let's get you out of here." Cal suggests her tone leaving no room for argument.
"Oh, she's not going anywhere." Elinor scoffed making quick work of putting a temporary end to what for her had been a mock fight as she easily tosses a still fighting Jack Barns away like the plaything he'd been to the powered-up legacy. The hunter landed with a pained groan on the ground a few feet away. "Well not in one piece anyway." She amends fixing her younger sister with a hard glare. "Not when I'm finished with her."
"Go to hell." Cal barked already bracing herself over her weakened maker.
"Oh, I was just there actually," Elinor waved away "you can't even imagine how dissatisfying a cop blood is, I have standards after all but then again I had to make do considering it seems I've been shunned by my own family." The elder Fairmont explains as she and Cal start to circle one another like the predators they both were. Well, that is Elinor attempted to circle the made vampire for any sign of an opening in her differences whilst Cal paced back and forth between her maker and the one threatening to take Juliette away in a far more permanent sense of the word.
"You're really ready to die for her, again?" Elinor questions in honest surprise at this.
Instead of giving a verbal answer Cal simply picks up her father's fallen spear spinning the thing once into her hands as she met the true monster's amused gaze with a steady one of her own as she plants herself solidly between the two sisters.
"Alright then." Elinor sighs straightening her rumpled clothes. "lets just hope you put up a better fight than those weak brothers of yours." she laughed
If Cal wasn't seeing red before. She is sure as Eden was now. "Come at me, monster,"
