Sure, she was breathing hard, sure she'd be needed an entirely new manicure to deal with the horrid sight all this fighting had done to her no longer neatly trimmed and painted nails, and yes it was true her clothes were ripped beyond repair whilst still providing a modest cover of her ivory skin, sure she still had two actual hunters left to finish off after she was done driving their own silver typed weapon into their precious daughter's equally heaving chest but hey, at least this was a better way of spending her time holed up in that distasteful prison cell.
"Is that seriously the best you got, hunter?" Elinor taunted from her straddled place over the beaten-down halfling's middle holding her down even when the legacy could already see the young one had no more fight in her. "Oh well," she sighed her tone board now as she held the teenager's gaze. "Say hi to Jules for me." She giggled raising her already poised weapon just a little higher before she started the hard downward thrust that would finally, permanently end the longer-than-needed life of the plaything that had humiliatingly corrupted her little sister.
"That's enough Elinor."
Cal's eyes close tightly at the tone hardly daring to believe it as her father gives a ragged "Impossible." As both, he and her mother caught their breaths from their own heard fought in an attempt to take down the true monster in their midst. Both staring in awe at a spot Cal wasn't able to see herself given her current position.
The very motion of the elder legacy's arms stopped at once at the word. No matter how hard she tried to force the spearhead downward it remained at its suspended point just a breath away from reaching the focus of her current rage.
"Surender the weapon."
Again, the angered vampire was compelled to do as she was told letting the already broken spearhead fall from her hands as the soft sounds of her commander's footsteps grew closer. Only until she realized it was only the human mother coming closer to take away the weapon threatening her turned child.
Apparently, Sweet Little hadn't wanted any room for free play with her commands should she have simply said 'drop it' or 'on the ground' as her sister had hoped for. Elinor could have easily 'dropped it' straight into the chest she was still holding it over finishing the task she'd been stopped in completing by the inconvenience of her younger sister's no longer deadness. The same could have been said if she'd been given the 'on the ground' instruction. There was perfectly good ground right under the back of the halfling Elinor was still holding hostage. Press hard enough and she could easily guide her chosen weapon back to meet it.
"Stand up."
Like a struggling puppet on invisible strings, Elinor rises hissing under her breath on every move as she rises from her looming position over her sister's pet to a more submissive spot a few steps away. Like she was some simple scolded puppy now banished to a corner.
"Retract. Your. Fangs."
At once the grumbling blonde felt her fangs re-sheathing obediently when all she truly wanted to do was continue baring them in her anger. No in her rage.
This wasn't right.
The Emerald Malkia was her birthright but there was perfect Juliette so casually carrying the very object of unhindered power the watching elder sister longed to have coiled around her own neck as Jules's bends enough to hold out her hand to help her hunter pet up from the ground. A sickeningly goofy grin on her lips even when for those interim seconds Juliette's emerald-tented eyes never once wavered in their hardened glare in Elinor's direction.
"I've always wanted to say that." Her little sister gushed like some happy puppy about to wet itself with excitement.
Again, Elinor was fighting the want to throw up despite being unable to do so least she lose all the blood she'd more or less gouged herself on before coming to finally deal with her brat of a baby sister. Now she was forced to watch as the halfling's arms lock around Jules's back as if they two could merge together if she held on long enough.
"I'm alright Cal." Juliette says when after a few moments for what to Elinor should have been a fairly simple acceptance of her brat sister not so dead-ness the hunter then starts pawing at Jules's clothes as if looking for any scars of the wounds that in a proper world should have killed even a mildly strong legacy like Jules was showing herself to be.
"Hey," The word was just a breath really as Jules's hand cups the hunter's jaw her thumb swiping away the dribbled traces of red-tinted tears sliding from the turned hunter's eyes. "I'm alright. This isn't a dream." One of the halfling's hands was deliberately brought up to rest over the reborn legacy's heart "See? I'm right here." Juliette murmurs.
"I thought I'd…." The hunter started to say but then she couldn't seem to get the words out, so she simply let the sentence hang in the air between them her hand still resting over her legacy's heart.
"You didn't." Juliette counters redoubling her grip on her trembling hunter's shoulders "You didn't." the repeated words a whisper now as they breathed in the security, they'd found in one another.
Apparently, neither of the lovesick teenagers cared much about the hunter's parents as well as Elinor herself was still watching every second of the couple's reunion.
"Jules?!"
Elinor snarled at her twin's breath of their younger sister's name only to pause with a disgusted "Tell me you didn't." as she watches a not as dead as she'd expected Burns brother join the embrace between his maker and his sister.
"Didn't want?" Theo questioned in a growl as his eyes meet his would-be murderess over his sister's shoulder. "Give me a merciful death?" he offered "I mean it's no wonder the Malkia chose her over you." He laughed earning an agreeing chuckle from both Oliver and Cal and a dark hiss from Elinor.
"I'm grateful for what she did." Theo defends his eyes meeting not only Elinor's but his parent's as well. Mainly his fathers as he kept talking. "with my last breath as a human I asked her. I begged her to help me." Beside him, Juliette winced at the reminder. Or maybe it was the not-so-distant fallout her choice had caused as Theo kept talking. "I could see it in her eyes when she was about to bite me. All she wanted was to end my pain. Take away my suffering." He lists off deliberately holding his father's eyes when he adds "and what true monster hopes the one they'd just unintentionally turned had found peace after they'd bit them?"
"You heard that?" Juliette whispered tearfully.
Theo nodes in confirmation with a light smile when it looked like Cal would be giving her own thanking gesture as she coaxed Juliette's chin back around so the two could look at one another once more.
What was whispered between them not even the keen hearing vampires around them could catch considering the interrupting "Merciful Lilith do we really have to watch This…." Elinor gave as she waved a hand in Cal and Jules's direction considering the two were currently sharing what to some would be a borderline-level kiss for the still-watching audience.
Juliette only giggles like the caught teenager she was whilst a much sassier Cal only flips the elder Fairmont sister off behind her girlfriend's head. Even when the gesture earned a warning "Calliope." From both her parents Cal still felt rightly justified as she rocked back on her heels to catch her blushing legacy's shy smile.
"No" Juliette says when she caught the fact that both angered Oliver and Theo were moving in tandem towards a just as upset Elinor. All three had their fangs bared. All three looked ready to kill.
"There's been enough death tonight." She decides her tone even regardless of the enraged growls she got in answer. "Besides, I have a better way to punish her." Juliette decides with a decisive smile as the legacy's eyes find another watching pair in a shadowed corner of the surrounding tree line.
"I'm listening." Carmen hummed her arms like Cal's wrapping possessively around her own bonded legacy's middle. Oliver seemed to calm a fraction at the move with a "This should be interesting" comment of his own as his twin's widened eyes as Elinor's eyes flicked between the witch and her younger sister.
