"Cal, Juliette, I want you both to go inside and clean up before dinner." Talia says by way of an invitation into the house as soon as the car had made the last turn onto the road towards the Burns home. The not quite an ask comment earned grateful smiles from both teenagers riding in the back seat as they give mirroring "Yes, ma'am" replies.
Juliette in particular caught Talia's eye in the review mirror with a mouthed 'Thank you" in the mother's direction. Considering it had been Cal who'd first granted the legacy entrance into the Burns house Juliette didn't know if her allowance would still be active considering Cal wasn't as alive as she had been when the first invitation had been given. The legacy didn't need either her original 'bitten' bond nor her newly gained sire bond to pick up on her girlfriend's unease on her allowance into her former house given her newly turned vampiric status.
"What the hell?" Jack exclaims once he like the two teenagers sitting cuddled together in the back seat notices the car already waiting for them as they pull into the driveway. "I called them." Talia answers meeting both Margot and Sebastian's gaze passed the glare of the car's windshield as the Burns car was parked beside the Fairmont's own. "We have a lot to talk about and it's not just about us anymore." She reminds her eyes flickering just a half second to catch her daughter's own in the mirror's reflection.
An uneasy but mutually understood node passed between the two mothers as their respective husbands continue their mini glaring match as the car was shut off.
"Girls, inside, please. I want you both showered and ready to help with dinner in fifteen." Talia reiterates turning to look towards the teenage vampires sitting in the back.
"Of course."
"Sure Mom."
The two agree their grip on the others hand never once wavering as Juliette rather than Cal reaches for the door handle to finally exit the car.
"Sweetheart."
Sebastian, the first of the Fairmont parents to reach their youngest children earns a sigh "Dad." From Juliette as she all but melts into her father's grounding embrace. Margot having hung back a few steps in her surprised eyes locked on the second of the exiting teenagers climbing from the first of the newly arrived cars.
Talia sliding a protective arm around her vampire daughter's shoulder giving a small shake of her head as her eyes dart in warning towards her husband's turned back considering Jack was currently talking in low voices with Apollo over what Talia didn't know. She only hoped it did involve something to do for that night's dinner considering the low grumbling of her stomach in hunger.
Margot surprisingly consents to keep quiet on the topic, but her eyes do linger a little longer before she speaks up. "You said, Oliver and Elinor…."
"Jules had Oliver stop off for a few things first. They'll be here shortly." Cal offers leaning more against her mother's side as she spoke when what she wanted was to have her sire and more importantly her other half back in her arms. She'd come so close to losing Juliette today. Too close. She wonders curiously if this was how Margot felt over almost losing her mate to the hunter's sliver.
If so, she was more than sympathetic to the elder woman's feelings as she notices just how tenderly Margot was watching the curled back of her husband around her daughter.
As if on cue Oliver's car pulls into the drive behind his estranged parent's already parked car.
"Another happy family reunion." The legacy scoffs after quickly exiting the car. Carmen and Theo soon following him although unlike him they both round to the car trunk as Oliver warily eyes his slowly approaching mother as he pauses beside the car's hood.
"Are you- alright?" Margot hesitates to ask as she pauses given the harder-than-needed slamming of the car's trunk. Carmen gives a defensive glare as she makes her way back around the side of the car toward them. Theo chose to head around the other side. A small something nestled against the crook of his arm as he walked.
Whatever was inside it making an angered hissing that has an amused Theo rattling the small box-like cage with a warning "quiet down in there or someone won't be getting dinner" as if the thing inside could understand him. Just going by the change in what little wind there was in the small flurry of movement Margot was reminded strikingly of the aroma that had clung to her son's first attempt at a pet.
"Let's move this inside, shall we?" Talia suggested before Margot could do more than follow the retreating Burns brother back towards the house.
"Tee," Jack warns but Talia ignores him as she turns back around just in time to see Cal and Juliette both crossing the house doorway. Both gingerly skirted warily around an equally weary Apollo but thankfully her only reminding human child was too busy sharing in his father's upset at the appearance of so many vampires on their property he didn't give the two or mainly had given Juliette more than a warning glare as the young couple passed him into the house.
"Margot, Sebastian please join us inside for dinner." Talia invites before turning her attention to the other two still waiting in the drive with them. "Oliver, Carmen, I expect you both to help with dinner preparations as well." She questions considering the Fairmont son already had some semblance of an invitation into the house via his short captivity in the Burns basement as their hostage.
"Seriously Mom?"
Apollo had arrived at the growing gathering in the Burns's front driveway.
"Seriously." Talia Burns parrots her tone as one of a woman not to be messed with as her hardened gaze meets the mirrored upset of her husband and son.
"As long as I don't end up with a screwdriver in my neck." Oliver answers making both Margot and Carmen wince in sympathy at the reminder. Talia's chin drops a little in regret but then it's gone as the mother's eyes catch sight of a movement at one of the windows of the house's upper floors.
Cal was listening in. not that Talia had suspected anything less.
Feeling a flash of motherly playfulness now she knew her not-so-little girl wasn't supernaturally band from the home Talia made a rather pointed tapping against her wrist in an honest reminder to her daughter that she and Juliette were on the clock as far as being more presentable for dinner.
Her vampire daughter only rolled her eyes in answer before she was gone.
"No? Well, how about a steak knife?" Apollo offers pulling his distracted mother back to the tense standoff in the front yard earning a proud smile from his father at the ask.
"Try it, hunter and I swear-" Carmen starts to warn earning a calming tisk from Oliver now nuzzling his nose into the witch's hair.
What was said between them the humans at least couldn't hear yet going by the way the Fairmont brother's eyes linger on the window Talia had just seen her daughter the Burns mother at least considered it was along the lines of 'Don't murder the in-laws."
"Where is Elinor?" Sebastian questioned by way of an attempted topic change. Margot beside him gave a grateful half smile at the ask.
"Theo is watching her." Oliver answered obediently following along when Talia started attempting to herd the lot of them into the house. "Jules didn't trust us to mind her."
"Almost didn't trust I wouldn't pull something making Blondie fangs more manageable." Carmen laughed
"I would have." Apollo grumbled from behind them before any of the others in the small group yet to move from the Bruns's driveway could ask what she'd meant.
"Trust me, last one standing I wanted to." Carmen sassed back over the pinging beeping of the kitchen microwave as the group stepped over the house's threshold.
"Oliver was right it is better warmed." Theo defends at his brother's grimace when they see Theo pulling two blood-filled mugs from the device. "and after what they had to deal with thanks to the two of you." The young vampire throws a glare first towards his father then another even darker one towards whatever it was he'd thought to hide under a dark sheet now balanced against the kitchen island. "Callie and Jules can use all the strength they can get right now." He reasoned divvying up, yet another also warmed up blood pouch between the two other waiting tumblers at his elbow that he then handed to Margot and then Sebastian.
"Speaking of dinner, let's get cooking, shall we?" Talia suggests the same time another stomach this time Jack's sounds through the kitchen.
