"Yell later," Cal argues breaking away as Elinor dove with a panther-like yawl of rage towards the vampires still clustered around her father whilst Theo chose to dive towards the trio hovering around Margot as the others swarmed in behind them. "God Jules. Can we not keep meeting like this every other time we're together?" she groans already seeing the clouded anger darkening her maker's eyes even when Juliette nuzzles so reassuringly against her shoulder as Cal helps prop her up against the plastic-wrapped sofa cushion.

"I love you," Juliette mumbles against the hollow of her throat drinking in the strength her hunter radiated along with that protective anger the legacy found so distracting as the battle kept raging on around them.

Hunters shockingly standing shoulder to shoulder with a few of her brothers' more vicious associates Juliette notices as another of the Carnell's henchmen is slammed face-first into the carpet ahead of them by one of Cal's fellow hunters.

"Forever." Cal agrees her lips pressing against the top of her girlfriend's head then giving her maker a proper kiss to her lips once Juliette found the strength to lift her chin enough for Cal to reach her mouth. "but right now we need to get you out of here."

"The Malk…." Juliette coughs without lifting her head from its lulled place against her hunter's shoulder.

"Is safe." Cal soothes greedily, cradling her girlfriend against her side, not the least bothered by the literal blood bath around them.

Just by the smell of it, Cal assumed Elinor was responsible for most of the carnage as she seemed to dance around the room spilling more and more blood along the way as she moved. A huge risk unleashing her wrath Cal knew but as long as it was being channeled elsewhere for the time, she could care less just how Juliette's elder sibling handled her allotted 'free time' before Cal got the pleasure of dragging her back into police custody.

Only next time it will be with the vampire council standing guard. The Guild wasn't to be trusted even with a loose canon like Elinor and handing her back to the human police was a recipe for even worse trouble down the line.

"but now we have to make sure you get that way too." Cal reminds as the already defining sounds of fighting and struggling increase as she tunes her heightened senses back to the raging battle around them. But she shoves the discomfort to the back of her mind with surprising ease as she pulls Juliette into her arms, not trusting her girlfriend's own legs to hold her up.

"Come on." Ben prods pulling on Cal's shirt sleeve in a kind of guidance amid the battle around them.

"Get my sister out of here." Elinor barks through gritted fangs as she holds a struggling Carnell minion in a chock hold a few steps away.

"They want her as much as they want you." Oliver remains in agreement with his twin as he gazes over at the two as the body in his grip drops unmoving to the carpet.

"She'll take us to the Mother if we apply the right pressure. All you can do is provide mild entertainment watching your hunter pals rip you to pieces once they find out your little secret." Angel hissed in a laugh when Ben immediately lifted the sliver-plated blade, he'd no doubt been given by one of the battling hunters dotting the Fairmont lavish home. "Oh, put that down before you hurt yourself, Benny boy." She waved off going so far as to bat the blade away with only a small hiss of discomfort at the touch of silver blade against her fingertips.

"Is that my dress?" Elinor scoffed glaring the newcomer up and down as she pushed herself between Angel and the trio.

"Now children." Carmen's cool tone tisked suddenly seeming to materialize beside them. "Don't you three have somewhere else to be?" the witch questioned her eyes flickering to Cal and Ben. Juliette seeming to struggle to stay conscious at the moment as she hugged herself closer to her seething hunter.

Then with a wave of her hand Cal, Juliette, and Ben were swept up in a silvery cyclone only to be let loose what for them was seconds later at the end of an alleyway just as what for Cal was a familiar car pulled up to the curb.

"Cal?" her father asked in surprise as he leaned over from the driver's side of the car.

"Dad." Cal sighed more than a little grateful for his arrival as Ben was already hurrying to open the back passenger door.

"Baby girl what…" Jack Burns started to push at the sight of the blood staining the trio's clothes and skin.

"Drive, Dad, just drive." Cal pleaded keeping a tight hold against Juliette's limp body as Ben slammed the door closed behind her after she'd climbed into the back before throwing himself into her place in the car's front passenger seat.

"Also, how'd you know where we'd be?" Ben asked finally pausing to catch his breath as Jack stomped down hard on the car gas pedal as he spun the car into a fishtailed turn before speeding off once more.

Jack waved a hand towards a cell phone cradled in the middle console cup holder. "it came in the mail earlier today. I tried calling from it until Apollo pointed out it was one of those phones that got calls it didn't send them. At first, I thought it was Tee getting in touch after she up and just disappeared on me too."

"Dad please," Cal begged her voice straining as she met her father's accusing glare in the car's rearview mirror. Lucky for Cal he was so lost in his upset to notice the blunt way she was staring hungrily at the tempting view of his throat the look gave.

Juliette had warned her of course. So had Theo. Not that Cal had expected the call of her newfound hunger would be so…

Jack gives a hard exhaled breath from the driver's seat as Cal shoves a bloodied fist against the ache in her gums in a vain attempt to dull the blood lust just a little longer. Seemed that now all the excitement of the last few days had finally warned off enough for her more 'normal' newly turned symptoms and cravings to kick in.

"How's she doing?" Ben asked in his own small way of distracting from her blood craving.

"Resting, thank Lilith." Cal sighed her free hand dropping to slip softly into her girlfriend's already blood dripped hair. "She'll be alright once we get her cleaned up and fed." She promises whether for her own benefit or for Ben's, Cal can't be sure as she gives Juliette's hair another soft petting.

They drive in relative quiet after that. Again, Cal was too lost in keeping her thirst under control to care much where they ended up until Jack had finally decided to pull the car into an out-of-the-way gas station for a quick refueling giving his craving daughter a small break from holding herself back from sinking her fangs into the soft skin of his throat.

"Cal?" Ben's voice becomes distorted around the blood call clogging most of Cal's attention. "Cal, I think that'll help." He offers passing over after a second glance was for Cal a very familiar-looking round compact looking container.

"You've had this the whole time?" Cal demands in a deep growl after gratefully swallowing half of the offered blood pills the small tin provided. Her hand now closed so tightly around the thing it was a real wonder to her it didn't splinter to dust under her curled fist.

"The thing just now popped into my coat pocket, okay?" Ben argues making a quick check of the man now seeming to be wrapping up paying for the gas and a few other things Ben had seen him bringing to the front counter. "How'd they taste anyways?" the human boy questioned, seeming genuinely curious about the question. "I'd always thought to ask Letty after I found out about…. Well, you know…."

Cal cracks the smallest breath of a smile at the question. "Think stale vampire tofu and overcooked calamari blended together then left in a gym locker overnight on game day." She tries to explain swallowing one more of the small little pills. "but it takes the edge off a little."

"Gross." Ben sympathized with a gag. "No wonder Letty was so grumpy after taking one of those."

"Thanks Ben." Cal answers guilty now as she slips the tin into her pant pocket.

"We all have our bad days. I'm used to it." Ben waved off as if it was the simplest thing. "Besides I've had practice with this kind of thing from Letty. Not that at the time I knew what I was dealing with." He reminds glancing towards the still unconscious Juliette laying across Cal's lap in the back seat.

"Seriously Ben, thanks." Cal tries again.

"Okay, okay enough with the theatrics here hunter girl." Ben snickers before turning more completely to look into the car's backseat. "But I'm warning you." He says seriously. "You break my best friend's heart again…. You answer to me."

"I stupidly decide to make that mistake again, I'll let you." Cal agrees, even holding out her hand for a deciding handshake between the seats. One Ben mirrors as they hold gazes in the car's low lighting.

"You two are not killing each other over me." Juliette says her voice low and scratchy as her eyes flicker open to glare blurrily between the two keeping watch over her. "Not now, not ever."

"Jules."

"Well, welcome the heck back, Letty."

Juliette could only groan in answer what with Cal having claimed her mouth for a kiss almost as soon as the waking legacy had scraped enough energy to sit up.

The louder-than-needed clearing of a throat from outside the car door ends the kiss far sooner than either Juliette or Cal wanted. Even Ben looked offended on their behalf as Jack Burns climbed back into the driver's seat.

"We still have a little farther to go before we reach our final." Jack says dropping an unmarked paper bag into Ben's lap as he starts the car. "Eat up those that don't ingest blood." He instructs pulling the car back out onto the roadway.

"Yes, sir." Ben agrees ripping hungrily into the offering.

"Erm…. Don't hog everything, B." Cal says after a few beats of hesitancy and a light elbow to her ribs from her maker at Jack's curious glances into the back seat as the car rolls to another stoplight out of town.

After some valiant attempts at small talk from Ben and coughing down some tiny tasteless baby carrots, Cal gives up on playing human and relaxes back into the backseat her head pillowed on Juliette's shoulder as she nuzzles her face against her girlfriend's delicate throat. Falling asleep to the steady rhythm of Juliette's thumb rubbing relaxing circles against Cal's held hand.

She smells him before she hears him. The thumping beat of his heart pumping all that delicious, warmed blood through his body as he stomped closer to what anyone else would consider very shallow steps. Or at least until she hears the grinding opening of the passenger side door opening with what she suspects was intended delicacy considering Apollo's guilty surprise when the waking vampire immediately leans across her also resting maker to bare her fangs in protective warning at the possible threat.

"Hey, hey, easy Cal, easy." Apollo attempts to calm both his hands raised in a show of surrender as she rubs a little more of the sleepy haze from her half-closed eyes. "Now come on unless you two really want to stay out here in a cramped car all night."

"Little problem of this being private property." Cal recognized spotting the not-so-hidden notice tacked onto the fenced-in parking lot.

Her older brother shrugs his shoulders in answer. "Check the other sign Cal, might be privately owned but…." He paused pointing back over his shoulder towards the flickering neon sign hanging in the front window of the rooming house.

"Clever." Juliette praises with a tired half-smile. "The little-known loophole in our invitation needs."

"And lucky for you Pops is busy settling Ben in with our other guest for the evening to bother noticing the not-so-private opening that sign gives your kind so let's get you to the hell inside before he realizes it, shall we?" Apollo shrugs yet to move beyond the still-opened door to the car's backseat.

"What are you talking about?" Cal asks climbing warily out of the car. Juliette keeps close as she follows.

"Who else is here?" Juliette probs taking an even deeper breath to attempt to hunt out the unknown blood signature mingling with the Burns's known flavors on the night air not needing to look to pick up on Cal's annoyance at her (Juliette's) point of keeping herself between Cal and her hunter brother.

Let me have this one, Cal. Please. Juliette asks the words as clear inside Cal's head as if Juliette had really spoken aloud as her maker's hand gives a grounding squeeze to the held one between them.

Cal's mouth twitches into an agreeing smile at the asking only to twist into a pained grimace when Cal's stomach gives a violent lurch making her double over choking up congealed blood and chewed carrot bits onto the ground as she reaches into the grassy covering her brother had quickly directed her towards whilst Juliette had helpfully held her hair back away from the threat of vampiric vomiting.

"What the hell?" Apollo questions as Cal's hunched body gives another hard buckling as another harder round of bloodied regurgitation covers the ground ahead of them.

The smaller vampire shakes her head quieting the asking of any more questions for the moment. Her eyes cast around untrusting. "We need to get her inside."

He finds her cleaning up in the small bathroom beside the front desk once he'd finished tucking his younger sister into the room the siblings were meant to share for the night. Not that now they were here Apollo or even his father knew Cal would consent to be anywhere but with the vampire girl.

"What the hell was that?" Apollo demands struggling to keep his voice low in his annoyance.

"What'd you expect from a gas station dinner washed down with a red slurpy."

Apollo rolled his eyes at the weakened attempt at a cover story "You know damned well what I'm talking about."

Juliette's eyes flick up to meet the angered hunters in the mirror's reflection.

"Don't play dumb." Apollo snaps stepping closer to her "what other side effects should I be watching for when Cal's around say our father?"

Before Juliette could answer the questioning hunter found himself pinned unmoving against the closest wall by his neck with his younger sister her fangs on full display holding him hostage "Don't talk to her like that." She orders tightening her hold against his throat.

But just as quickly as she'd let Apollo drop turning instead toward another watching figure shadowing them from the opened doorway.

"What in the name of the Mother is she doing here?" Juliette growls at the same time Sarah's pink clade body replaces Apollo's held pinned to the wall by Cal's unyielding grip.

"Who cares." Cal scoffs dragging the struggling human close enough to sink her fanged teeth into the traitor's slender throat moaning a little at the first gush of warmed blood against her mouth.
