Chapter 8
Detroit; September 4th; 05:49 EST
Laying on his side, Wally snuggled deeper into his pillows with a contented sigh, enjoying his dream about his future honeymoon with Linda. They were lying on a sandy beach sunning themselves and drinking Mai tais. He hummed softly in his sleep as he leaned over and kissed his new wife…only to receive a slap on the forehead.
He grimaced in his sleep, his face wrinkling with confusion. Why would his wife slap him on the forehead when he tried to kiss her? He leaned in for another kiss only to get another slap on the forehead.
"Hey!" he mumbled in his sleep, opening one eye to see the top of a little curly-haired child.
A tiny grunt of frustration emitted from the said child as a small hand reached up to slap Wally's face again, hitting him on the nose this time. "What's going on?"
Leaning over, he came eye to eye with Bella, sucking on her pacifier. She held her arms up, wanting to be picked up. "Do you know what time it is, kid?" he softly asked, not wanting to wake Linda up.
Bella whacked him on the nose, not really caring what time it was as she glared up at him. "Okay…okay," he mumbled, reaching over and picking her up. "You definitely got that look from your mother."
Wally sat her on his chest, giving her a bleary-eyed look. "So, what can I do for you at…five fifty-two in the morning?"
She leaned forward and patted his chest, mumbling "daddy".
"Daddy?" he questioned her. "I am definitely not your dad. I think you have me confused with someone else, sweetheart."
Wally glanced over at Linda to find her still asleep, unable to decipher what Bella wanted. "Do you want a drink?" he asked.
Bella shook her head no, her eyebrows furrowing even further into a dark glare of utter frustration.
"Did you have a bad dream?"
Bella nodded her head, laying down on Wally's chest and snuggling up against him as her head came to rest on his shoulder. He gently patted her back, smiling to himself. She just wanted someone to hold her and comfort her. His heart flooded with warmth for this little girl, making him long for the chance to have a family of his own someday.
"You know you're going to make a great father one day."
He looked over at Linda who was watching him with a smile on her lips and love reflecting in her eyes. "I hope so," he whispered, finding that Bella had already gone back to sleep as she snuggled into the crook of his neck.
"I know so," she reassured him, reaching over and patting Bella's back. "She's so adorable."
"Don't let her cuteness fool you," Wally warned her. "She's as fierce as her mother…and now she's drooling on me."
"You can't wake her up," she told him.
"If we don't do something, I'll drown," he tried to tell her.
Linda chuckled as she leaned over to kiss his cheek. "I'll get a baby cloth," she offered.
Wally watched as Linda left to go to Bella's room. She returned a short time later with Rex in her arms. "Look who I found crying in the hallway."
"Rex, buddy, what's wrong?" Wally asked as Linda returned to the bed, handing her fiancé the cloth.
"I want mommy and daddy," Rex whimpered as he settled into Linda's lap.
Linda gently stroked his hair as she rubbed his back. "I know," she consoled him. "It's hard when they're gone, but they're doing something very important for your mommy. They'll be back as soon as they can."
Rex burrowed into her embrace, his thumb finding his mouth. "Is Bella sad too?" he asked.
"She had a bad dream and decided to tell me by slapping me in the face," Wally told him.
"Hey, do you want to help me make chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast?" Lind asked Rex.
He tilted his head back to look up into her face. "I can really help?"
"Sure," she replied. "You can't be any worse at helping to cook than Wally."
"Hey, I'm a good helper in the kitchen," he insisted as he attempted to wipe the drool off his neck, his nose wrinkling in disgust. At least it wasn't something worse like vomit.
"You are, honey," she assured him, reaching over to pat his arm. "You're just…messy."
"Oh…well, yeah," he agreed. "I am messy, but I'm very good at cleaning up."
"You're super fast at cleaning up," she said. "Oh, this time when you take me to work can we maybe not go quite so fast? My hair was an absolute wreck for the rest of the day."
Wally rolled his eyes with a chuckle. "I'll see what I can do," he decided. "Maybe you could wear a hat?"
"And lose it in Illinois on our way to Central City?" she questioned him with a raised eyebrow.
"Right…bad idea," he said with a nod.
"You did bypass that horrible thunderstorm in northern Indiana," she pointed out. "I appreciate not getting wet…or struck by lightning."
"Always protecting my girl," he told her with a grin.
Linda smiled affectionately at him before glancing down to find Rex asleep in her lap. "Well, now what?"
"I have an idea," he replied. "I think I'm stuck with this child on my chest."
"Try to lay her down on the bed," she suggested.
Carefully, Wally got up, keeping a firm hold on Bella before gently laying her down in bed. Linda did the same with Rex, who quickly snuggled up into the covers. Making sure the pair was still asleep, Linda and Wally quietly made a quick escape to the living room.
They settled on the couch together with a sigh of relief. Wally put his arm around his fiancé, kissing her temple. "Now, this is perfect," he murmured as they stretched out together. "Who said being parents was hard?"
Underworld; September 4th, 10:36 EST
"Get down!" Phillipus yelled, using her sword to ward off the attack as a horde of winged demons descended on them.
"This just keeps getting better and better," Jason grumbled as he pulled his guns and began firing at will.
Winged demons began to drop to the ground with a thud as the trio fought off the attack. This was their third encounter with the hideous beasts and Jason was more than done with them. He wasn't certain how long they had been here but to him, it had already felt like an eternity.
"We're never going to reach Hades at this rate," he ground out, the clicking of his guns alerting him to the fact that he needed more bullets.
He paused to reload, Artemis quickly covering him with the Bow of Ra, releasing arrows of pure energy. The winged demons exploded with the energy blast that assaulted them. Jason ducked his head as pieces of demon rained down on them.
"Could you just use regular arrows for this one?" he yelled at her as he wiped demon guts off him.
Artemis gave him a long-suffering look but managed to roll her eyes at Phillipus as she switched arrows. She preferred to completely obliterate the offending beasts, but she guessed this worked just as well at slowing them down.
Phillipus gave her a crooked smirk as she swung her sword, slicing through a demon as it dove at her. Jason opened fire on the last three demons, ending the attack for the moment. They all knew it was just a matter of time before another horde of demons arrived to bring them trouble and slow their journey.
Phillipus sheathed her sword for the moment, making sure the area of clear of any more dangers. "We're going to have to make up time," she told them. "We're getting behind."
"How do you suggest we do that?" Jason asked as he holstered his weapons.
"No time for rest," she replied, noticing how it was getting darker. "We're going to have to keep moving…eat on the way."
"Good idea," he decided. "I'm starving."
Artemis dug into her pouch of provisions, pulling out some dried meat and handing them each a large piece. "We need to ration our supplies," she warned them. "We'll need provisions for the return trip from Hades' palace as well."
Jason frowned as he bit off a piece of meat, chewing it slowly. "That's if Hades even lets us leave this literal hell hole."
"If he knows his daughter is in trouble, he'll let us leave," Artemis confidently replied.
"I thought things weren't exactly friendly between Diana and Hades," he said.
"It's not all warm and cozy by any means, but I think they reached somewhat of an understanding," Artemis revealed.
"Let's hope he remembers that part," Jason muttered, a thought occurring to him. "Hey, what are the chances we could find Bruce's parents down here?"
"They could be anywhere," Artemis replied. "They're more than likely in the Elysium Fields, but we don't know that for sure. It could take months and months of searching to locate them."
"Maybe Hades would tell us," Jason suggested.
"Why do you want to talk to Bruce's dead parents?" Phillipus asked.
"I don't know," he thoughtfully said. "He's always carried scars from the murder of his parents. I think it might help him if we got to talk to them…told them about the awesome things that he's done for Gotham and the family that he's created."
Artemis gave her husband a small smile. "That's very kind of you."
"I just think if we get a chance, we need to take it."
"If there's time, but we'll be pressed to return as prearranged," Phillipus reminded them.
"I don't think Hippolyta is going to keep us locked up in here forever," Jason pointed out.
"Opening the doorway to the Underworld is a very dangerous task and not something that is taken lightly," Phillipus stated. "It is only because Diana is in real danger that the Queen felt it was necessary to do so. That is why we must not delay."
Jason gave her a skeptical sidelong glance, unconvinced by her explanation. He still doubted Hippolyta would them rot in hell. They could end up holding the key to saving Diana, but he wasn't going to argue about it. He was growing tired and there was no rest in sight any time soon.
"We'll be fine," Artemis reassured him, momentarily grasping his hand, and giving it a squeeze. "Let's keep moving for now. We'll stop in a little while to rest once we find a safe spot."
"Safe spot in the Underworld?" Jason said with a laugh. "That sounds impossible."
"Not necessarily impossible, but definitely difficult," Phillipus added with a sigh as she searched the skies.
Diana's Mind; September 4th, 13:10 EST
Bruce and Diana Wayne arrived at the fundraiser right on time, holding hands and pausing for the camera flashes that attempted to blind them. They entered the event hall, taken aback by all the hard work that Kaia had put into the event.
She had refused their help in planning and decorating for the gala, insisting on doing it all herself. As the head of the Wayne Enterprises Charities Department, Kaia exceeded expectations in promoting her first fundraising event.
Entering the ballroom, Diana spotted their daughter speaking with a woman who she thought was the caterer. "Kaia looks beautiful tonight," Diana commented. "She has grown into such an amazing young woman."
"She did a remarkable job with the charity benefit," Bruce raved as he took in their surroundings.
Diana playfully elbowed her husband in the ribs. "And you were worried that she wouldn't be able to pull it off."
"I wasn't worried," he claimed. "It's just that it was her first charity event as a representative of Wayne Enterprises. There's a certain expectation that comes with that."
"It's about time you two showed up."
Bruce and Diana turn around at the sound of Tim's voice. "Don't you look very handsome," Diana praised him, straightening his bow tie before patting his chest.
Tim lifted his chin with a grin. "I can clean up when the occasion calls for it."
"Where's Cassie?" Bruce asked.
"She's calling to check on Lucas," Tim replied. "She's worried he's coming down with a cold so she's calling the babysitter to see how he's doing."
"First-time mothers are always anxious," Diana said, something in the back of her mind niggling at her. Something wasn't right about this situation, but she couldn't put her finger on it.
"Lucas is fine," Cassie announced as she approached, relief written on her face.
Tim kissed her as he took her hand. "Told you he'd be fine."
"I know," she responded with a sigh. "It's just that this is the first time being away from him. Besides, you were a little worried too, Daddy."
"Come on," Tim said, changing the subject. "Let's go check out the buffet table."
Bruce took a couple of glasses of champagne from a waiter passing by, offering one to Diana. "Diana?" he called her name, noticing that she wasn't paying attention.
Feeling a little disoriented, she looked at her husband in an effort to get her bearings. "What?"
"Are you all right?" he asked with narrowed eyes as he handed her the glass.
"Yes…I think so," she murmured, taking a sip of the drink.
"What's wrong?"
She slowly shook her head as she tried to put into words what she was feeling. "Something doesn't feel right."
"Like what?" Bruce asked, immediately glancing around. "Do you think someone might plan an attack tonight?"
"No, nothing like that," she told him. "Things just seem…off…somehow."
"Diana, you're not making sense," he said, stepping closer to her. "Do you feel well?"
"Yes," she muttered, looking about them.
There was Damian and Raven, Tim and Cassie, Dick and Donna, Jason and Artemis, Cassandra, Nick and Lara, Kaia and Liam. Barbara and her husband Sam were present tonight talking to Alfred, Grayson, and Leslie. The whole family was here, everything just as it should be. Everyone was happy and enjoying themselves.
Then, why did it all seem so wrong to her?
"Maybe I should take you home," Bruce decided as his hand gently grasped her elbow.
"No, I'm fine," she insisted. "I don't want to miss Kaia's big night."
"Should I get Leslie?"
"No, I'm sure it's nothing," she attempted to ease his worry with a shake of her head.
"All right," he finally relented, clearly unconvinced. Worry still pervaded his face. "Let's go see Kaia."
Diana allowed Bruce to lead her across the room to where their daughter was talking with an elderly couple well-known in Gotham. She couldn't help wondering why things felt so off tonight. She hadn't heard any more voices, but life felt like it was moving so fast. It seemed just like yesterday Kaia was a little girl in preschool and now she was an adult, an executive in her father's company.
Where had time gone and why did her life seem so surreal?
Castle of Morgaine Le Fay; September 4th, 14:56 EST
John Constantine ducked as he narrowly missed a bolt of energy that nearly took his head clean off his shoulders. "This isn't exactly going well, you know!" he angrily yelled at Zatanna who was directly across the room from him hiding behind a statue.
Pieces of stone statues exploded around them as Morgaine released a constant volley of energy. She was basically destroying her own throne room. Her elderly son Mordred calmly entered the room from a side door as if this was an everyday occurrence, eating an apple as he observed the fight and hunched over on his cane.
"Mother, are you finished yet?" he asked with a shaky voice. "You promised we'd take a trip to visit another dimension. I want to see Camelot again."
"Just about finished here," she told him. "I'll be there shortly."
John raised his head long enough to wage a return attack, wondering how a simple interrogation had turned into an all-out battle of magic. Zatanna unleashed a ring of fire that surrounded Morgaine, her anger causing the flames to nearly reach the ceiling.
"We just came here to talk!" Zatanna yelled. "We aren't here to fight you!"
"Enough of this!" Morgaine shouted, extinguishing the flames. "You are not wanted here so leave."
"I said we just need…information!" Zee hollered again, directing her magic at Le Fay. "We are not leaving here until we get it!"
The powerful force of Zee's magic suddenly pinned Morgaine against the wall, her feet dangling a few feet above the floor. "What information are you seeking?" Le Fey begrudgingly asked.
With a huff, Zatanna straightened up, tugging on her jacket to smooth out the wrinkles. "Finally," she snapped with an irritated huff. "We just want to know if you have any information about Wonder Woman."
Morgaine's expression was hidden by the mask she wore, but the confusion in her voice was unmistakable. "Wonder Woman?" she repeated as Zatanna released her magical hold on her. "Why would I have information about the Amazon? I couldn't care less about her."
"This is about a spell that was placed on Diana soon after she was given life," John revealed.
"A spell?" Morgaine murmured thoughtfully, her indignation at their unexpected arrival disappearing in the powerful wake of her curiosity. "What kind of spell?"
"That is what we're trying to discover," Zatanna told her. "Someone appeared in Diana's room when she was a baby and placed a spell on her. The spell took effect a couple of days ago. We're trying to figure out what is it and why it's delayed by a thousand years."
"Interesting," she softly said as she wandered towards her throne to take a seat. "Go on."
"Nothing happened for over a thousand years," Zatanna continued. "Now, she's in a magically induced coma that we can't wake her from."
"We're trying to find out who is behind it," Constantine added. "Do you know anything about who might have cast the spell?"
Morgaine thought about it for a long moment. It appeared as though she wasn't going to respond when she finally answered. "I have no knowledge of who might have cast the spell."
Zatanna felt her heart sink with Morgaine Le Fay's words. They were running out of time and options. If they didn't find some answers soon, she had no idea what they would do. Diana was the heart of the League…the heart of the Wayne family. How would they be able to go on without her?
"However," Morgaine continued much to their surprise, "you might want to speak with the Lords of Chaos. I can't imagine they would want Diana to become the powerful Wonder Woman one day."
Constantine glanced at Zatanna, sharing a knowing look that bespoke of their reticence about hunting down the Lords of Chaos. They would much rather go to Mount Olympus and face Diana's gods than try to get information out of one of the Lords of Chaos.
"I believe our job just became that much harder," Constantine muttered with a sigh as he pulled out a cigarette.
Gotham; September 4th, 16:03 EST
Tim and Cassie held hands as they walked towards a nearby park bench. Taking a seat, they watched Nicholas and Kaia attack the playground with a fierce vengeance. "Kaia doesn't seem to be the least bit bothered by the black eye," Cassie noted as she quickly took to the monkey bars like a pro.
"Are you kidding?" Tim said with a chuckle. "Nothing slows that kid down. She just wishes Diana were here to see her eye."
"You'll have to take a picture of it to show her."
"Oh, hundreds of pictures have been taken I promise you that," he reassured her, leaning over to kiss her. "Thank you for coming with me to the park. I wanted to get Nick and Kai out of the house for a while…get their minds off Diana not being there."
"I'm happy to do it," she replied. "I love spending time with you and the kids. Have they started to suspect anything yet?"
"Not yet," he told her. "I think they have a feeling that something more is going on than what they've been told, but they haven't asked any questions yet. They're really smart, though, so it won't be long before they start asking."
"It's obvious they're gifted," she added, watching as Nick and Kaia skillfully worked their way across the jungle gym as if it had taken no effort at all.
"Look at me!" Nicholas yelled as he hung upside down from the monkey bars, swinging his body around and over like a trained gymnast.
"Nice going, Nick!" Tim praised him, turning his attention to Cassie. "I couldn't even do that when I was ten and he's only six."
"Well, when your mother is the Princess of the Amazons…" she pointed out. "How is Diana? Any changes yet?"
"No, nothing," he relayed. "It's breaking my heart. I miss her so much. There's this huge void in the manor. Everyone can feel it, but no one really wants to talk about it. Bruce is a mess inside though he tries his best to hide it."
"Have you thought any more about moving back into the manor?"
"A little but I think I'll wait a few more days to see how things go," he revealed. "I'm hoping Zatanna and Constantine will find something soon. Hopefully, Artemis and Jason will be back from the Underworld by then."
Cassie shook her head in disbelief. "I can't believe they went to see Hades," she said with a shudder. "It's just such a risk to take."
"They felt they needed to for Diana."
"I wish there was more we could do," she told him. "I feel so useless."
"I know I do too," he agreed as she wrapped her arm around his. "We just have to be strong and try to keep things as normal as possible for Nick and Kaia. They're my focus right now."
Cassie smiled up at him, laying her head on his shoulder. "You are the best big brother any kid could ask for. It makes me love you even more."
"I love you too," he confessed. "I just wish I could do more."
"You're too hard on yourself."
Kaia ran over to the couple on the bench, breathing hard from all of her escapades on the jungle gym. "Can we get ice cream later?"
"You just had ice cream yesterday afternoon," Tim reminded her.
"I know, but I think it'll make my eye feel better."
Tim laughed as he reached for Kaia, pulling her into a hug. "You are an ice cream monster," he said, tickling her sides.
"No…no! Tim!" she cried in between fits of giggles.
"Hi-ya!" Nicholas yelled, karate-chopping Tim's forearm. "Don't attack my sister!"
"You are a really good big brother protecting your sister all the time," Tim told him.
Kaia scowled as she looked up at Tim. "I don't need protecting!"
"Come on," Cassie said with a giggle as she stood up. "Let's go get ice cream. I think I need a chocolate milkshake."
"Yes!" Nicholas cheered, taking Cassie's hand. "I think I need one too."
"I want lots and lots of sprinkles on my ice cream," Kaia told Tim as she took his hand.
Cassie smiled down at him, happy that she could do something to get their minds off their mother for a little while. Getting to spend time with Tim was just a bonus that she loved doing as well. Hopefully, they will eventually get some good news on Diana's condition soon.
Paris, France; September 4th, 17:13 EST
"How long must I demand to face Wonder Woman?" Devastation roared as she floated in the sky, pausing to appreciate the destruction that she had created so far.
France's military attempted to stop her to no avail as several jets appeared on the scene. She captured their deadly missiles in midair, throwing them like darts at the city below. She suddenly began to fly in a wide circle at super speed, creating a powerful cyclone that caused them to lose control of their fighter jets.
One of the jets began to spiral out of control, plummeting to the ground below. Superman grabbed hold of it, guiding it to a safe spot out of the way. Doctor Light flew straight towards Devastation, projecting light lasers and forcing the young woman to momentarily halt her terrorizing efforts as Batman and Black Canary materialized on the ground below.
"I want her down here!" Batman yelled into his commlink. "We need to know where she came from and what she wants with Wonder Woman!"
"At last!" Devastation exclaimed with growing excitement as she stared down Superman. "The leader of the Justice League is here. Do I finally have your attention now?"
"What do you want with Wonder Woman?" Superman demanded to know, defiantly folding his arms against his chest as he faced off against the newest foe as Doctor Light floated up next to him.
"I have personal business with the Amazon that does not include either of you," Devastation informed him as she paused to point at Batman and Black Canary below, "or them."
"Wonder Woman is not available right now," Superman stated. "You're going to have to deal with us."
"I guess I'll just have to speak a little louder to get Wonder Woman's attention then," she spat out.
Devastation flew straight into Superman without the slightest hesitation or fear, delivering a punishing blow that took everyone by surprise including the Man of Steel who was sent miles away from the scene. The concussive force of the punch caused the ground to shake. She next set her sights on Doctor Light who attempted to block her attack but to no avail. She ended up in the same crisis as Superman.
"That's not good," Black Canary said as Doctor Light disappeared from sight.
"Time to rock her world," Batman told her.
"Hang on," she warned him, giving him a second to protect his hearing before unleashing a canary cry that caused Devastation to plummet from the sky like a rock.
Canary smiled with satisfaction as she cautiously approached the teenager, Batman following close behind her. Devastation opened her eyes and looked up at the blond and the Bat, confusion clouding her gaze as she sat up.
They both braced themselves as she slowly stood up, taking position across from them. Batman didn't waste any time getting down to the interrogation. He was beyond desperate for answers, and he wasn't about to miss this chance to get them.
"What do you want with Wonder Woman?" Batman demanded to know.
Devastation sneered at them, finally deciding that she might get what she actually wanted if she told them her mission. "I'm here to abolish Wonder Woman," she revealed. "My sole purpose for being created is to end her life…to put an end to her interference in this world…to deal a final blow to the Amazons by destroying their champion."
Batman was stunned by her answer, his mind reeling with the thought that this teenage girl's only reason for existence was nothing more than to take Diana's life. It caused a shock of dread to burn through him as he struggled to form his next question.
"Who created you?"
"My father Cronus created me," she proudly relayed. "Now that I have told you my purpose, bring me Wonder Woman so can complete my mission."
Superman landed on the ground behind her. He was more than a little furious with what he'd heard on his return. "How long ago were you created?"
Devastation glanced back over her shoulder with a smug grin, finding herself surrounded by heroes. "A thousand years ago."
"You're just a teenager," Black Canary pointed out in shock.
"I have been gifted by the gods themselves, making me equal if not better than Wonder Woman," she informed them.
"Wonder Woman would face you if she could, but she is not available," Canary told her. "She's away on a mission."
Devastation's sneer only darkened into something more sinister. "I don't believe you," she spat out. "She's hiding from me because she knows I will win. Her death will be a disgrace to the entire Amazon nation. She fears her future."
"Wonder Woman has never and will never hide from a fight," Batman angrily growled. "If you know anything about her, you know she would be right here to face you if she were able to."
"Well, I suggest that you send for her quickly because I will not stop my run of destruction until I finally see her face to face…until I feel her blood on my hands," she icily stated.
Before anyone could respond, Devastation took to the air, throwing out her hands and causing the ground to tear apart as if it were paper. A seemingly bottomless fissure erupted beneath Batman and Black Canary, causing them to plummet.
Falling backward, Batman immediately fired his grappling gun. The claw hook thankfully caught on an outcropping of rock, abruptly halting his descent. He had no time to regain his bearings or kick his legs out as his body slammed into the wall of the crevice. He groaned with the shock of pain that shot through his shoulder.
He managed to crane his neck in time to see Superman fly down the abyss to save Black Canary, releasing a sigh of relief. While he was relieved that they were both safe, he was furious that Devastation had gotten away. He needed more information, more answers.
Superman abruptly wrapped an arm around Batman's waist, flying him and Black Canary back up to the surface. "She's going to be a handful," the Man of Steel noted as he set them down.
"She is very powerful," Doctor Light added as she landed next to them. "She delivers quite a punch."
"At least we know where she came from now," Canary added.
"The question is why does she want Diana dead," Batman stated.
"Hopefully, we can figure that out before she makes another appearance," Superman replied, glancing around at the disaster that Devastation had left behind.
"She's not going to stop until she sees Diana face to face and that's not going to happen with Diana in a coma," Dinah said.
Batman shook his head as he thought about it. "We're going to have to come up with a substitute to assuage her."
"J'onn?" Superman suggested.
"Maybe," Batman responded. "We don't know the full extent of her powers. She may be able to see right through his shapeshifting. It could make her even more furious to find out we tried to deceive her. We may need to recruit Donna to be Wonder Woman in the meantime."
"It could work," Canary agreed. "She's the closest thing to Diana without being her and they share the same gifts."
"Not to mention, they look alike," Superman asserted.
"I need to get back to the cave and see if I can piece any of this together," Batman told them. "With any luck, Devastation will lead us to find the cause of Diana's current condition."
"I don't see how they can't be linked somehow," Dinah decided. "It's too much of a coincidence that she shows up at the same time Diana falls into a coma."
"I can't help but feel this is all connected to Diana's family," Batman bit out, his anger apparent in his stance and tone. "They're withholding information and doing absolutely nothing to help her. There's something going on they refuse to tell us."
"Talk about a dysfunctional family," Superman said. "I guess not even an Amazon Princess is exempt from it."
A/N: Whoa! So much chaos!
