Volume II: Symbiote Spider-Man Part II
Note: This will be the ninth chapter of Volume II and Part II of a two part story. Peter still struggles with himself as he discovers the real reason behind his change, his new suit. Ghost-Spider will seek out the help of Dr. Connors to unravel the mystery of the black suit. Mary Jane is still heartbroken by her break up with Harry Osborn as it draws her closer to Peter in ways they never expected. Abe Jenkins AKA the Beetle makes an first appearance in this story as the villain as he targets Peter, Gwen, and Mary Jane on behalf of the Kingpin who is planning his process of being released in the near future. Eddie Brock will attempt to destroy Spider-Man in anyway he can, but he'll soon learn that his own arrogance will be his undoing.
It's November 3rd, it's nighttime in Rikers as Wilson Fisk, the man who once ruled New York's underworld with an iron fist, who called himself the Kingpin is currently locked up in his cell all alone making plans for his freedom. The guards came by with Fisk's right hand man James Wesley who is also a prisoner here.
"Here he is, Mr. Fisk."
"Thank you, you shall have your share as promised, now go and leave Mr. Wesley here." Wilson Fisk orders the guard.
"Yes, Mr. Fisk."
The guard is on Fisk's payroll as he walks away, leaving Wesley alone with him.
"What is the progress for my appeal?" Wilson Fisk asking Wesley.
"My lawyer friend who owes me a favor managed to convince the court for a new appeal for your release, but given the magnitude of charges against you, we were lucky to even get an appeal at all. Though, the process could still take months, maybe even years." Wesley explained to Wilson Fisk.
"Everything I've built in the last 30 years, my criminal empire built through blood and sweat, all undone thanks to Spider-Man. If he thought that he got rid of me forever, then he's in for another surprise. Even locked up in this cage, I still have resources both abroad and even inside this very prison that I now control. I'm pleased to hear that we finally an appeal, however, there are still some witnesses that testified against me, a few heads responsible for my downfall, they could prove to be a problem for my freedom. If I'm to be completely free and clear, I'll need to eliminate some loose ends. Have you found the right man for the job?" Wilson Fisk asking Wesley.
"I have, a professional mercenary, he's very expensive but he is good at what he does. All he needs is half the money to do the job and the other half when the job is done." Wesley explained to Wilson Fisk.
"Very well, call your lawyer friend and have him wire the money. No loose ends, no witnesses, understood?" Wilson Fisk gave the go ahead.
"Yes, sir. It shall be done." Wesley comply with Fisk's orders.
Wesley walks away from Fisk's cell as Wilson Fisk has already set in motion his plans, he has a folder of certain individuals responsible for his downfall, Leland Owlsley, Mary Jane Watson, Gwen Stacy, and finally Peter Parker.
At an unknown hideout, a mysterious man is using his tools to work on his suit, a hi-tech battle suit all green and purple equipped with a flight pack on its back as a well as an array of weapons.
His phone is ringing as he stopped working and answered the call, he put it on speaker.
"Jenkins here." Abe Jenkins wonders who's calling him.
"Mr. Jenkins, I'm calling on behalf of a client of mine."
"Who?" Abe Jenkins is curious.
"Someone powerful who prefers to keep his name hidden, confidentially and all that."
"Right, compartmentalization. Fine by me, what's the job?" Abe Jenkins needs details.
"Assassination, my clients needs a few individuals out of the picture permanently, sending you the information to you now."
Abe's phones got pictures of a few individuals as well as their locations, one of the target is a older man Leland, but the others Gwen, Mary Jane, and Peter are teenagers.
"So this client of yours wants me to kill of an old man and three kids. What have these teenagers done to him?" Abe Jenkins is curious.
"That shouldn't be your concern. Is it going to be a problem?"
"Of course not, but you know my services. Half now and the other half once the job is done." Abe Jenkins stated his terms of service.
"Very well, transferring 10 mil into your accounts."
Abe checks his phone to see the money transfer, 10 million dollars poured into his accounts.
"Thanks, I accept the job." Abe Jenkins has taken the job.
He hangs up the phone as he picks up his gear, he began to strap it onto himself, he puts on the armor on his body, he strapped the gauntlets on his arms, then finally he puts on the helmet. He is now fully equipped and ready to take on anything.
"Time for the Beetle to go to work." Abe Jenkins becomes the Beetle.
The next day in the city, Spider-Man is still patrolling the streets in his new black suit that he acquired from the shuttle two weeks ago, but he still feels conflicted with himself as he has changed too much.
"It's been two weeks since I've got this suit and I've managed to handle all of New York's crime alone without any difficulties. But lately I've been acting different too, just weeks ago I've almost taken the life of Scorpion. I just wish I knew what was causing it." Spider-Man says in his thoughts.
Spider-Man landed on a rooftop as he looks down, he spotted an armored car with some kind of adhesive stuck on the tires, the guards inside are trapped as the paste is holding the doors stuck.
"Wonder what's going on here? Better check it out." Spider-Man says in his thoughts.
A man dressed in purple and yellow stepped out of the back with bags of money stolen, this man has got some kind of pack on his back with hoses connected to a couple of portable guns. Spider-Man jumped down onto the light pole as this guy spotted the hero dressed in black.
"Neat suit." Trapster complimented Spider-Man's suit.
"Flattered, so who are you?" Spider-Man asking his name.
"We never met, the name's Peter Petruski." Trapster introduced himself.
"Don't you have a villain name? How about Krazy Glue Man or Paste Pot Pete?" Spider-Man thinking of new names.
"Neither, you can call me Trapster, because once you get stuck to my adhesive, you'll be trapped and you'll never be get out." Trapster says to Spider-Man.
"Is that supposed to scare me? Trust me, those so called adhesives of your will never hit me." Spider-Man isn't backing down.
"Since you won't let me get away with the money, I'll have to deal with you first." Trapster says to Spider-Man.
Trapster drops the bags and draws out his two paste guns and started shootings adhesives at Spider-Man but the hero backflips and dodge the incoming shots.
Eddie Brock arrived at the scene to watch Spider-Man in his new black suit, he hides himself behind a car nearby and quickly puts out his camera and started taking shots of the action.
Spider-Man stopped as he jumps up and swings in closer to him, Trapster fired up at Spider-Man, the hero lets go of the line as he can predict the incoming fire, he moves himself through the barrage without difficulty. He came in closer and webs up Trapster's hand to one side and his other to the another, Trapster's is trapped at both ends as Spider-Man gained the advantage.
"For a new villain, I'm not impressed. It thought that you put up a challenge, how disappointing." Spider-Man then punched Trapster out cold.
Spider-Man defeated Trapster as he walks away leaving the new villain still left standing by the web lines but unconscious.
Unknown to Spider-Man, Eddie Brock is hidden nearby as he checks on the shots of Spider-Man in his new suit defeating Trapster.
"Perfect, this should get me a big bonus from JJ." Eddie Brock smiled with pride.
He looked out only to see that Spider-Man has disappeared.
"What the? Where did he go?" Eddie Brock asking himself.
A loud pound was made on top of the car he's hiding behind, he looks up to see Spider-Man here looking down upon him.
"Hello Brock." Spider-Man picked up Eddie Brock.
Spider-Man lifted Eddie Brock up in the air as the photographer is intimidated and frightened. He spotted a camera gripped in Eddie's hand.
"You should know better than to take photos of me without my permission." Spider-Man says to Eddie Brock.
Spider-Man took the camera off Eddie's hand and dropped him down on the ground, Spider-Man pulled out the SD card from the camera's memory.
"Hey, that's my camera!" Eddie Brock protested.
"What? This?" Spider-Man holding the camera.
Spider-Man smashed the camera down on the ground hard, shattering it to pieces.
"You can have it back, loser. See ya, chump!" Spider-Man says to Eddie Brock.
Spider-Man fired a line and swings away from the scene as Eddie Brock is upset that Spider-Man destroyed his camera and taken his prized shots away from him.
"Everywhere I go, you're always getting in my way, humiliating me, making me look like a loser. You want to play dirty? That's fine by me, I can play dirty too, and I know just the best way to get back at you." Eddie Brock says to himself.
Eddie pulled out his small back up camera and photograph the crime scene and its background, he has something planned to get back at Spider-Man for all theses times he's humiliated him.
Back in Queens, Mary Jane and Gwen are hanging out in the bedroom as they watch on the computer of Spider-Man thwarting a armored car heist.
"And there we have it, Spider-Man once again has stopped an armored car heist committed by a criminal who calls himself Trapster. About 5 million dollars was recovered and police have taken custody of the criminal."
"Can't believe that Peter went out there all alone without me." Gwen is disappointed.
"Has this been happening too much lately?" Mary Jane asking Gwen.
"Yes, but I'm more worried about who he is now and what he's become. Just weeks ago, he went up against the Scorpion alone and managed to beat the villain who was a challenge even for the two of us. I arrived in time to find him about to do something regrettable, he almost took Scorpion's life." Gwen explained about Peter's new behavior.
"No, Peter wouldn't do such a thing." Mary Jane is shocked.
"I know he wouldn't, at least not the Peter I knew." Gwen says to Mary Jane.
"What is going on with him? He's hasn't been himself, it's like he's turned into someone else, someone I don't recognize, someone who scares me." Mary Jane says to Gwen.
"He's been acting like this ever since..." Gwen thought of something.
"Since what?" Mary Jane is curious.
"Since he got his new suit, he seems to be much stronger in it, but now I'm worried that it's doing something to Peter's mind, it's messing with his head." Gwen suspects the suit is the source of Peter's change.
"Yeah, I'm starting to see it that way." Mary Jane says to Gwen.
"I'm sorry, I'm more about Peter that I didn't ask how you're holding up with the breakup with Harry and all that." Gwen says to Mary Jane.
"Im doing alright, but I haven't seen or talk to him since that day, Harry chose to break up with me because I couldn't be honest with him about the secrets I've been carrying, secret I can't share with anyone except those who knows them." Mary Jane says to Gwen.
"I'm so sorry." Gwen felt guilty.
"It's not your fault." Mary Jane says to Gwen.
"Yeah, it is. When I confided my secret to you, I never consider the burden it would be on you and how it would affect your relationships." Gwen felt guilty.
"Gwen, I never regretted knowing my two best friends were superheroes, and I am proud of you and Peter. If you two never became the heroes you are now, then none of the people you've saved would be alive today." Mary Jane says to Gwen.
"Thank you." Gwen smiled at Mary Jane.
"Anytime, I'll always be there you both." Mary Jane says to Gwen.
Mary Jane and Gwen hugged each other, Mary Jane felt a bit better but she still has sadness in her heart that she doesn't want her friends to know about. She does her best to mask that pain by smiling and acting everything is alright.
Meanwhile in Arizona, in a suburb neighborhood, Leland Owlsley is hiding out and is in witness protection after he testified against Wilson Fisk. He just returned home after a day in town, he's living under a new name.
He enters his home he's been living for the past six months, he dropped his stuff onto the table as he heard a strange beeping sound coming from the kitchen. He walked up closer and sees a explosive device on a timer, counting down to five seconds.
"Oh shi..." Leland Owlsley said his finals words.
The whole house blew up in the explosion as the whole neighborhood came out to see the house is on fire and completely destroyed.
Far away from the scene, the Beetle is hovering in the air, his wings on the pack are flapping and making a buzz sound, watching the explosion from afar.
"One down, three to go." Beetle says to himself.
He flies away as he still has a job to complete, he eliminated Leland Owlsley and now still has three targets left on his list.
Later as the sun is almost setting, Peter is in the Spider-Cave as he's working out some issues concerning his relationship with Gwen Stacy since neither of them can be together for obvious reasons.
Peter has his fists bandaged as he's punching the punching bag with very little force. He began to think about his talk with Gwen on the night they broke up.
"You... want to break up with me?" Peter says to Gwen.
Peter throws a strong punch as he still thinks about that night.
"No, I don't. I love you more than you can ever imagine. But right now, I'm not sure that what's best for me is the same as what's best for us. I'll still work with you as your crime fighting partner, but we still can't be a couple working together constantly worrying for each other. Do you understand?" Gwen says to Peter.
Peter then throws in some multiple punches as he still working out his frustration.
Peter sighed. "I understand."
Gwen is saddened. "Then we agree, it's over."
Peter finishes it off with a very strong jab with all his strength as the punching bag snapped off the chains and sent flying towards the wall, it made a tear as sand is pouring out.
Peter got tired out as he let out his frustration and did serious damage on the bag. He walked up and picked up another bag and placed it on the chain. Gwen is walking in as she sees Peter practicing his punches.
"Working out your frustrations?" Gwen asking Peter.
"Why not? Got nothing better to do." Peter throws a jab and a cross. "Is that why you're here?"
"No, Peter, I'm worried for you. You've been different since you've got this mysterious suit of yours." Gwen is concerned about Peter.
"This suit is the best thing that has ever happened to me, I no longer have the same emotions that held me back, I'm in complete control." Peter says with pride.
"Are you really? Remember weeks ago when you almost took the life of Scorpion? You almost crossed a line you could never come back from. This all happened in the moment you got your suit, I'm afraid that it's messing with your head, making you do things that aren't you." Gwen says to Peter.
Peter thought about that time he fought Scorpion all alone and was about to deliver the finishing strike until Ghost-Spider arrived in time to stop him from making that wrong choice.
Peter sighed. "You're right, I haven't been myself since then. What do you need from me?"
"I need a sample of your suit to study, I want to know what exactly are we dealing with, please Peter." Gwen says to Peter.
Peter summon the black suit as it formed all around his body, he's back in black again. Peter pulled a piece from his arm.
"Here, cut a piece." Spider-Man pulling a piece of his suit.
Gwen grabbed a scissor and cuts it off as it began to form back before Gwen's eyes.
"Here." Spider-Man handing her the piece.
Gwen grabbed a small container off the table as she grabbed the sample of the suit and puts it in and seals it tight.
"So how are you planning to study it? I know that you're very smart, but even this could be beyond both our expectations." Spider-Man says to Gwen.
"I know someone who might be an expert." Gwen has an idea.
"Who?" Spider-Man is curious.
"Someone we've helped before." Gwen says to Peter.
Eddie Brock is all alone in his apartment as he uploaded shots of the crime scene to his computer. He then accessed the Bugle's website and uses his password to access the archives of old photos.
"Everybody loves you since you save everyone's lives, you're pretty much famous. Let's see how you will handle the public turning on you. We'll see who's the loser now after I'm done with you." Eddie Brock says to himself.
He is planning something against Spider-Man as he picked one of the photos he took earlier as the background and picked an old photo of Spider-Man from the Bugle archives.
The sun has already set down as it's night time in the city. In the laboratory of Empire State University, Dr. Connors is about to call it a night until Ghost-Spider came by and surprised him.
"Dr. Connors, glad that you're still here." Ghost-Spider says to Dr. Connors.
"Ghost-Spider, what brings you here?" Dr. Connors is confused.
"Are you leaving right now?" Ghost-Spider is curious.
"I was about to call it a night, but since you're here. What do you need from me?" Dr. Connors says to Ghost-Spider.
"I need your help to examine this specimen." Ghost-Spider holding a small container in her hand.
She placed it on the table as Dr. Connors could see that it's black ooze but not entire sure what it is exactly.
"What is this?" Dr. Connors asking Ghost-Spider.
"I'm not entirely sure exactly, but whatever it is, it has taken Spider-Man in a form of a new suit. I'm worried that it's changing him." Ghost-Spider explained to Dr. Connors.
"Changing him? How?" Dr. Connors is curious.
"His behavior is unusual even for him, he's like.. aggressive. I need your help to study it, to know exactly what we're dealing with, please." Ghost-Spider asking Dr. Connors for his help.
Dr. Connors sighed. "I almost lost my entire life to my own twisted experiment, you two saved me from myself and gave me a second chance. I'll stay up late and study this specimen. I'll have to call my wife to tell her I won't be back home soon."
"Thank you, Dr. Connors." Ghost-Spider is grateful that Dr. Connors agrees to help her.
"No need to thank me, I owe you both for giving me a second chance. It's the least I can do, I'll let you know when I finally found something, but no promises." Dr. Connors says to Ghost-Spider.
"I understand, and thank you." Ghost-Spider leaves the lab.
Dr. Connors stayed behind in his lab as he got started in studying the sample.
In Rikers Prison, Wilson Fisk is reading a book in his cell, the wall has a picture of himself with his late wife Vanessa and their son Richard. The cell door opens as Wesley came by to see his boss.
"You got something?" Wilson Fisk is awaiting results.
"It's done, Leland Owlsley is dead." Wesley informs Wilson Fisk.
"Good, Owlsley would've prove to be a bigger obstacle in my plans for my freedom. And what is the progress on our other problems?" Wilson Fisk asking Wesley.
"The asset is on his way to New York to finish the job. Very soon those other witnesses will be silenced forever." Wesley informs Wilson Fisk.
"Good, start with Peter Parker, he's the first one among the three I want dead." Wilson Fisk tells Wesley.
"Still carrying that hate for Peter Parker, I see." Wesley says to Wilson Fisk.
"Of course, I never forget nor forgive, that Parker kid is the source of all my troubles, if he thought that he got rid of me forever, then he's sorely mistaken. This time I'll get rid of him and his two friends, they will all pay for what they've done to me, that's a promise and I keep my word." Wilson Fisk still wants revenge.
"Understood, I'll inform the asset that Peter Parker is the primary target. Excuse me." Wesley leaves Fisk's cell.
The next day at school, it's break time in the courtyard as Flash is looking at old footages of Spider-Man dressed in his new black suit. Peter is sitting with his friends Gwen and Mary Jane as they're listening to Flash's complements of Spider-Man's new look.
"Wonder when Spidey decided to change his colors?" Randy says to Flash.
"Don't know, but I gotta say, that suit is pretty badass. Wish I had a suit like that, I would've look good in it." Flash says to Randy.
Mary Jane spotted Harry as he stopped himself as he's looking at Mary Jane who's looking back at him, he turns around and walks away in the other direction. Peter noticed it too as he's well aware of their breakup.
"You two still haven't talk?" Peter says to Mary Jane.
"It is what it is, Tiger. Just let it go. Trust me, I'm fine." Mary Jane says to Peter.
Peter tries to speak again until Mary Jane cuts in.
"And by fine, it means that I don't want to talk about it." Mary Jane refuses to talk about it.
Mary Jane gets up as she walks away from Gwen and Peter as she's still trying to hide what's she really feeling inside, Peter is still worried for Mary Jane.
"Gwen, you're MJ's closest friend, how is she really holding up?" Peter asking Gwen.
"Honestly Pete, she's acting like everything is fine, but in reality, she's still hurt by her breakup." Gwen says to Peter.
"I hate seeing MJ suffer." Peter says to Gwen.
"So do I." Gwen says to Peter.
"By the way, what happened to that sample I gave you?" Peter is curious.
"I gave it to Dr. Connors to study, if anyone is an expert in biology, it's him. Hopefully he'll figure out what this stuff on you is." Gwen says to Peter.
"I hope so too, sometimes I'm scared of who am I now. I need to know what this thing on me is." Peter says to Gwen.
"I'll stop by ESU after school and see if Dr. Connors has some results." Gwen says to Peter.
"Thanks Gwen." Peter thanks Gwen.
"Anytime, Pete." Gwen says to Peter.
Meanwhile, Mary Jane managed to catch up with Harry as he walking alone.
"Harry, wait!" Mary Jane runs to Harry.
"What do you want, MJ?" Harry asking Mary Jane.
"Harry, could we please talk." Mary Jane says to Harry.
"Talk about what?" Harry says to Mary Jane.
"Harry, it's been two weeks since we've talked, I know that you chose to break up with me because of my secret, but please don't let that come between us and our friendship." Mary Jane says to Harry.
"MJ, I don't know if we can still be friend after this. Sometimes there are things about you that I simply don't know about. I use to have hopes that you love me enough to trust me with things you're keeping inside you, but you don't. The truth is that you don't trust me enough to let me into your life. I wish I knew why, maybe I would've understood. I'm sorry MJ, but I think it's best that we give each other some space. Excuse me." Harry finished talking with Mary Jane.
Harry walks away as Mary Jane is left alone after what she heard Harry say. She realizes that Harry is right, her secrets are what's pushing her away from him. She can't do anything to mend their relationship as they both needed some space to figure things out.
Later at the Daily Bugle, Jameson is alone in his office as he looks at the photo of his son John. He's still thinks about that unfortunate space shuttle accident his son was in, the one that could've killed him weeks ago. The buzzer rang as Betty is reaching Jameson.
"Mr. Jameson, Eddie Brock is here." Betty informs Jameson.
"Send him in." Jameson tells Betty.
The door as Eddie Brock enters the office and is very eager to see Jameson.
"I trust you have something to show me?" Jameson is wondering.
"Oh yeah! You're never going to believe it, here." Eddie Brock hands him the folder.
Jameson takes it and opens it up to see the photo which shocked his eyes at what he is seeing.
"Finally, this menace has finally showed his true colors. Now I have the proof to show the entire city the criminal Spider-Man really is." Jameson smiled with pride.
Eddie Brock smiled too as he finally got what he wanted, fame and a chance to humiliate Spider-Man for every misery he caused to Eddie Brock.
Later at ESU, Dr. Connors is alone in his lab still studying the sample of the suit Ghost-Spider gave him yesterday. Ghost-Spider showed up at the lab and surprised Dr. Connors again.
"Dr. Connors, is there any progress?" Ghost-Spider asking for results.
"I'm astounded, I've never seen anything like it in my entire life, it's got cell structures unlike any other." Dr. Connors described this sample.
"That's what I was afraid of, it's alive, isn't it?" Ghost-Spider suspects the sample.
"It is, from what I can gather, it's a symbiote." Dr. Connors calls it a symbiote.
"Symbiote?" Ghost-Spider is confused.
"A life form that bonds to another in order to survive. But from what I know, this one improves on the host, it seems to lowers one's inhibitions and heights emotions such as anger or hate, even love." Dr. Connors described the symbiote's capabilities.
"That explains Spider-Man's recent behavior, it's messing with his head." Ghost-Spider says to Dr. Connors.
"That's the least of it, in time it's going to fully consume the host and take over. He needs to get the suit off as soon as possible." Dr. Connors says to Ghost-Spider.
"Right, but this symbiote is not going to give up Peter without a fight. The symbiote must have some weaknesses, any idea what it is?" Ghost-Spider says to Dr. Connors.
"That's the problem, I don't know what it is." Dr. Connors says to Ghost-Spider.
"Alright, I guess I'll have to figure it out on my own. Thank you, Dr. Connors, for everything." Ghost-Spider tells Dr. Connors before she leaves the lab.
"Good luck to you, Ghost-Spider." Dr. Connors says as he watches her leave.
It's nighttime in Queens, Peter Parker is doing his homework in his bedroom as he's almost finish writing.
"And there, finished." Peter puts down his pencil.
Peter puts away his homework in his backpack as he summoned the suit around himself.
"The night is still young, time for Spider-Man to go to work." Spider-Man says to himself.
He walks up to the window and opens it, he was about to climb out until he stopped himself, he looked across the other house, to Mary Jane's bedroom window. He sees her still crying all alone, Spider-Man couldn't help but feel sympathetic.
Mary Jane is wiping her tears out until she heard a tap on her window, she walked up to see Peter in regular dark clothing hanging outside as she opens it.
"Peter, why are you here?" Mary Jane asking Peter.
"I was going to leave on patrol, but... that can wait. May I come in?" Peter asking Mary Jane.
Mary Jane sighed. "Yeah, come in."
Peter got invited into her bedroom as Mary Jane is sitting down on the bed, Peter sits next to her.
Meanwhile outside the house, far from where they are, the Beetle is hovering in the air as he found the two houses that Peter and Mary Jane live in. He uses his helmet's infrared scanners to scan the two houses.
"House on the right is empty." Beetle says to himself.
He then switches to the other house on the left as he spotted two heat signatures in the same room. He assumes that they're both Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson.
"Two targets confirmed, proceed with termination." Beetle says to himself.
Back inside Mary Jane's bedroom, Peter and Mary Jane are alone as Peter wants to talk with her about how she's dealing with her break up with Harry.
Mary Jane wipe her tears off her eyes. "So what did you want to talk about?"
"I know that you said that you're fine and you don't want to talk about it, but right now I'm worried for you and I hate to see you all sad." Peter is concerned for Mary Jane.
"Peter..." Mary Jane didn't get to finish her sentence.
"Please MJ, whatever it is you holding in, let it out." Peter says to Mary Jane.
Mary Jane sighed. "I spoke to Harry today."
"You did? And?" Peter is curious.
"And nothing has changed, Harry is still distancing himself from me, he doesn't think that we can still be friends as he believes that I still don't trust him. To be honest Tiger, he's right. All I have done is build a wall between us, full of secrets and lies. I don't think that I'm meant to have a normal relationship like everyone else." Mary Jane is tearing up.
"MJ, that's not true." Peter tells Mary Jane.
"Isn't it? Ever since I was a child, my parent's marriage was a disaster and they ended up splitting up, my father doesn't want anything to do with me. My mom died when I was ten and I ended up without any parents. Now my boyfriend who was my best friend walked away from me. What is so wrong with me that everyone ends up leaving me?" Mary Jane is crying out.
Mary Jane is crying out more tears as Peter has his hand on her cheek and turns her head towards him.
"MJ, listen to me, there is nothing wrong with you, there never was. To me, you're the most amazing and most wonderful girl I've ever know in my entire life." Peter tells Mary Jane what he thinks of her.
Peter wipes off the tears off her eyes with his thumbs as Mary Jane hugs Peter for comfort, Peter then began to have this feeling in his heart that he once felt for Gwen, he never imagined that he would feel this way for Mary Jane.
They broke off the hug and Peter looked at Mary Jane's face, in his eyes she's all beautiful with her red hair, green eyes, and light freckles on her face. Peter placed his other hand on her other cheek as Mary Jane is curious as to what's going on with Peter.
"Peter... what are you doing?" Mary Jane is confused.
"Honestly MJ, I don't know." Peter is clueless.
Peter leaned in closer as he pulled Mary Jane's face closer to his, their lips touched and Peter ended up kissing her. Mary Jane's eyes widen as she's surprised that Peter is kissing her right now, she didn't fight back and ended up kissing Peter back.
Unknown to either of them, the Beetle is hovering and watching as his two targets are kissing each other, he has his wrist rocket armed and ready to kill.
"How sweet, you both can die together." Beetle aimed his wrist.
Peter is still kissing Mary Jane against his better judgment since she's his best friend's ex girlfriend and he still has his own feelings for Gwen who is now his ex girlfriend.
Peter's eyes open wide as his spider sense tingles, he spotted something out the window heading towards them, a rocket. Peter pulled Mary Jane off the bed as he ducks down with her, he pulled the whole bed and uses it to shield themselves, the whole bedroom exploded as Peter did his best to shield Mary Jane from the blast.
The Beetle still hovering in the air as he flies in closer for confirmation that both targets are dead. As he came in closer, a burned out mattress was tossed at him as he got hit hard and fell down on the ground.
Ms. Lion is in his doghouse as he's barking out at the Beetle. The Beetle himself recovered and got the burning mattress off of him, he looked back up to see Spider-Man all dressed in black.
"Spider-Man? How did you get here?" Beetle is surprised by Spider-Man's appearance.
"Doesn't matter, you pick the wrong house to blow up." Spider-Man isn't too happy.
"Who says I did? I hit the right place, killed two birds with one stone." Beetle says to Spider-Man.
"Who are you?" Spider-Man asking for his name.
"The names Beetle and this concludes our business." Beetle aims his wrist lasers.
Beetle fired his lasers as Spider-Man is very quick and backflips to dodge the incoming fire, Spider-Man stops and counters by firing a couple of black webbing at Beetle but the villain uses his wings to fly up in the air.
"Missed me!" Beetle taunts Spider-Man.
Beetle then hears sirens coming in closer as he knows that the police are on their way soon.
"You're lucky, we'll have to finish this another time." Beetle is about to bail out.
"You're not going anywhere!" Spider-Man jumps towards him.
Beetle pulled out his sonic grenade and tossed at Spider-Man coming towards him, it detonated and unleashed a blast of sonic energy as Spider-Man got caught in the blast and the symbiote went crazy in pain, the suit is in a frenzy. Beetle then flies away and uses its camouflage mode to disappear from sight. Spider-Man fell back down and is on the ground in pain from the sonic blast as he gets himself back up on his feet.
"Ow! That really hurts." Spider-Man says in pain.
Spider-Man looked around to see the Beetle is long gone as police and the fire department arrived at the scene, but his biggest worries is his friend Mary Jane.
"MJ." Spider-Man remembers about Mary Jane.
Spider-Man jumped back up to the burned out bedroom as he went to check up on Mary Jane still unconscious from the blast. He bent down to check her out to see if she's alright, the mask removed itself as Peter looks at her.
"MJ? MJ?!!" Peter yelled out.
Peter sees that Mary Jane has bleeding on the forehead as that blast really did some damage to her. Peter's face got covered up again and became Spider-Man, he picked up Mary Jane and carries her out in a hurry.
At the hospital, the doctors in the emergency room all are doing their work to save Mary Jane's life, Peter is outside hoping that Mary Jane makes it. Gwen came as soon as she heard about Mary Jane and sees Peter all alone.
"Peter!" Gwen runs up to Peter.
"Gwen!" Peter hugged Gwen for comfort.
Peter needed Gwen Stacy by his side after the near death experience he and Mary Jane were in.
"Mary Jane, how is she?" Gwen is worried for Mary Jane.
"I don't know, she's still in surgery, she was bleeding from her forehead when I found her, she almost died." Peter explained to Gwen.
"Oh Peter." Gwen hugged Peter again for comfort.
Peter and Gwen still embrace each other as they hope their friend make it through surgery.
At the Osborn Manor, Harry is still doing his homework trying to keep himself distracted as he's still dealing with the break up with Mary Jane. His phone rang as he stopped everything he's doing and picked it up to see Peter is calling him.
Harry answered the call. "Pete, look I know that you know about me and MJ's break up but..."
Harry stopped talking as he hears Peter's words in silent, he became shocked by what Peter just told him happened to Mary Jane. He dropped the phone in shock as his ex girlfriend is in the hospital fighting for her life.
"MJ." Harry tells himself.
Harry quickly got up from his chair and grabbed his keys, he rushed out of his bedroom as he needed to see Mary Jane and be there for her during this time of need.
Sometime in midnight at Rikers Prison, Wilson Fisk is in his cell using his secret burner phone to communicate with the Beetle.
"There's been a complication, both targets survive the explosion." Beetle informs Wilson Fisk.
"How? What happened?" Wilson Fisk asking Beetle.
"Spider-Man happened, he was there somehow and he managed to save them both in time. However, the redhead is in the hospital in critical condition, there's no telling if she'll survive or not." Beetle explained to Wilson Fisk.
"Honestly, I'm not very surprised that Spider-Man intervened. He seems to be connected to Peter Parker somehow, he protects him and his friends. Now that he knows that you're after them, they'll be more protected than ever." Wilson Fisk says to Beetle.
"It would've been nice if I knew this certain detail about Spider-Man before, then maybe I wouldn't have gone unprepared nor unaware." Beetle says to Wilson Fisk.
"The witnesses will have to wait for now, there's been a change in the plans. Your new target is now Spider-Man, this time I'll double the payment and give you a very generous bonus, that is if you can kill him." Wilson Fisk changes his plans.
"You know what, we have a deal. It's time that Spider-Man faces the Beetle to the death." Beetle accepts the new contract.
"Excellent, but if you're going to find Spider-Man, then you'll need to do something drastic to draw him out, then he'll come to you." Wilson Fisk suggested to Beetle.
"What do you suggest then?" Beetle is curious.
Fisk smiled sinisterly as he has a way for the Beetle to draw out Spider-Man. He has another enemy on his list that is also responsible for his downfall.
The next morning at the hospital in Queens, Peter and Gwen are still in the hospital along with Harry, George, May, and Anna Watson as none of them slept, they wait for the news about Mary Jane's condition and hopes that she makes it through.
One of the doctors steps out of the ER as everyone is awaiting the news of Mary Jane's condition, Anna Watson walks up to the doctor.
"How is she, doctor?" Anna Watson asking the doctor.
"She's out of danger, there doesn't appear to be brain hemorrhage, just got a fractured skull and a nasty cut on her forehead. She's going to be fine, but she'll be bedridden for at least a few days. Now if you'll excuse me."
Everyone is relieved to hear that Mary Jane survived and she's going to be okay.
"I'll go see MJ, if that alright with you guys." Harry says to Peter and Gwen.
"Sure, go ahead." Peter says to Harry.
Harry walked with Anna Watson to room where Mary Jane is resting leaving Peter and Gwen alone until George and May walked up to them. Peter has to pretend in front of George as he still doesn't know that Gwen is Ghost-Spider.
"Now that Mary Jane is safe, care to explain what happened?" George Stacy wants some answers.
"Me and MJ were alone in her room until a rocket came flying towards us, we both ducked down behind the bed before the explosion. We were lucky that we survived, Spider-Man was there and he stopped the guy responsible from finishing his job." Peter explained to George Stacy.
"What did you think this guy wanted?" George Stacy asking Peter.
"I think that he wanted both me and MJ dead, at least that's what he said." Peter says to George Stacy.
"This can't be a coincidence that you and Mary Jane were targeted." George Stacy had some suspicion.
"What do you mean?" Gwen asking her dad.
"Remember Leland Owlsley, Fisk's former partner who testified against him?" George Stacy says to Peter and Gwen.
"What about him?" Peter says to George Stacy.
"He's dead, his WitSec handlers called me last night and informed me that he was killed in an explosion inside his home in Arizona." George Stacy explained to them.
"But why dad? Fisk has already been convicted and serving his sentence." Gwen says to her dad.
"His new lawyer managed to get an appeal for Fisk to overturn his conviction, claiming that Spider-Man acted illegally in his arrest and the NYPD are also complicit in their actions." George Stacy explained about Wilson Fisk.
"That's a whole load of crap." Peter says to George Stacy.
"I know, Fisk is just trying to find some loopholes for him to slither through, making preparations for his release." George Stacy says to Peter.
"Even behind bars, that man is still pulling the strings." May says to the group.
"We all need to be careful and watch our backs. If Fisk is really behind all this, then it's not just you and Mary Jane who are the targets, it's means that Gwen is also a target too. Fisk's retrial is still in the process of getting a court date, he's mostly likely trying to kill off any potential witnesses that can threaten his early release, he'll come for you three." George Stacy says to Peter and Gwen.
"Let him come! He came after us before and we've managed to survive! He doesn't scare me and neither does the guy he sent, he'll be dealt with, that's a promise." Peter says with a harsh voice.
Peter walks away as George and May are worried about this new attitude he's throwing around, Gwen is more worried that this symbiote is now amplifying his anger and that Peter will be driven to seek out this assassin that tried to kill him and Mary Jane.
Peter is walking outside the hospital as his phone rang, he pulled it out of his pocket to see his classmate Flash Thompson is calling him, he became curious as to what Flash wants.
Peter answered the call. "Flash, if you're calling about MJ, then you'll be relieved to know that..."
"That's nothing why I'm calling you. Did you know about this, Parker?!" Flash sounded upset over the phone.
"Know what?" Peter is confused.
"I'll send you a picture on your text." Flash tells Peter.
Peter awaited as he got a text on his phone from Flash, he sees a picture and became very surprised to see what he's looking at, a photo of himself as the black suited Spider-Man stealing the cash after the robbery which never happened.
"Where did you get this photo?!" Peter is confused and upset.
"It was in today's issue of the Daily Bugle, there's no way that Spider-Man would ever do such a thing, I don't believe it." Flash isn't convinced.
"Of course not, Flash. This picture is a fake and I'm going to look into it." Peter hangs up the phone.
Peter then spotted a newspaper stands, he pulled out the lid with all his strength as he took a paper and looked at the issue titled "The Sinister Spider-Man finally exposed as a menace." Peter took a closer look at the name of the photographer who took the photo, it was Eddie Brock.
"So Eddie Brock is the mastermind behind this whole mess. This Beetle guy will have to wait, I got some trash to take care of first." Peter says to himself.
At the Daily Bugle, Jameson and Eddie are in the office as they're reading the forums on the Bugles website as many people are commenting Spider-Man as a criminal and menace since this issue went out this morning.
"Now the whole city has realized the menace Spider-Man truly is. Nice work, Brock, you deserve a bonus." Jameson is impressed with Eddie's work.
"Thank boss, it was a pleasure." Eddie Brock is happy things are finally going his way.
Meanwhile, Peter got off the elevator holding an folder in his hand, Betty spotted him walking in.
"Peter, I heard about what happened, I'm just glad that Mary Jane is alright." Betty says to Peter.
"Thanks, where's Eddie Brock?" Peter asking Betty.
Betty points towards the office to see that Eddie is already inside with Jameson, Peter walks up and enters without permission, surprising them both.
"Parker, I did not give you permission to come in. What the hell are you doing?" Jameson says to Peter.
"Making things right." Peter slams the folder down hard on the desk.
"What is this?" Jameson looking at the folder on his desk.
"Proof that you made a mistake in crucifying Spider-Man to the whole city for a crime he didn't commit." Peter says to Jameson.
"Are you trying to play me for a fool?" Jameson says to Peter.
"No, but Eddie Brock has." Peter turns his head to Eddie Brock.
"Hey, you weren't there Parker, I saw everything that menace has done." Eddie Brock is lying.
"You're lying, Spider-Man wasn't there to steal the money, he was saving it. But you already knew that, didn't you?" Peter says to Eddie Brock.
"Are you calling me a liar?" Eddie Brock felt offended.
"More than a liar, you're a fraud!" Peter insulted Eddie Brock with the truth.
"And what are you? I heard about what happened yesterday, it seems like you have a habit of attracting trouble wherever you go, it's explains why your stuck up red headed girlfriend is in the hospital right now." Eddie Brock hits a nerve.
"What did you say?" Peter felt offended Eddie talk about Mary Jane like that.
"You heard me, she nearly got killed because of you, punk!" Eddie Brock insulted Peter once again.
Peter got mad and angry as he throws a right hook on Eddie's face in front of Jameson, Peter got down to punch Eddie again as everyone inside the Bugle are watching Peter hitting Eddie Brock in a fit of rage, Jameson intervened to stop the fight.
"Hey, that's enough!!" Jameson breaks up the fight.
Jameson pulled Peter off as Eddie Brock is on the floor with a bruise on his left cheek and a cut on his lip, he's pissed at Peter for attacking him.
"What is this proof you have?" Jameson asking Peter.
Peter opens the folder he brought with him to show his original photo from the archives and the one that was released on today's issue.
"You wanted proof? Here it is, Eddie sold you a fake, a forgery that was photoshopped. Go ahead and see for yourself, ask him if it's true!" Peter tells Jameson.
Jameson examines the photos more carefully and noticed some similarities and some irregularities with the fake photo.
"Parker, leave us." Jameson says to Peter.
"Don't worry, I said what I needed to say. Excuse me." Peter walks away from the office.
Jameson is alone with Eddie Brock as he looks disappointed in what he is seeing with his own two eyes. Eddie Brock got up and is scared by what Peter just showed Jameson.
"Is this true, Brock? Did you intentionally sold me a forgery in order to hurt Spider-Man?" Jameson isn't looking too happy.
"I can explain..." Eddie Brock is panicking.
"Don't... Parker has already done that. I should've known that this was too good to be true. You've used me and now my newspapers reputation is now tainted and ruined thanks to your deceptions." Jameson is very upset with Eddie Brock.
"JJ, I..." Eddie Brock is panicking some more.
"Shut up!!! You made me look like an idiot once again!!! You're finished, Brock!!!" Jameson is very pissed.
"Boss, please don't do this to me!" Eddie Brock is pleading with Jameson.
"Read my lips... YOU'RE FIRED!!!!!" Jameson yelled out in anger.
Eddie Brock has been hit pretty hard from hearing those words coming out of Jameson's mouth, Eddie has lost his jobs as everyone on the floor was listening and are disappointed in Brock's actions.
"No, no, you cant do this to me! I'm begging you!" Eddie Brock is breaking down.
"Not only have you lost your job, but I'll see to it personally that you get blacklisted from the photography industry, no one will ever hire you ever again. Now get out of my sight and out of my building!" Jameson says his final words to Eddie Brock.
Eddie Brock's life is now ruined as he walks away from the office in shame, all of the Bugles' employees including Betty watched in disappointment as Eddie Brock is now disgraced.

Eddie Brock has left the office as he spotted Peter Parker outside near the fountain as he's got other things on his mind right now. Eddie is very upset at Peter for ruining his life.
"Parker!" Eddie Brock yelled out.
Peter heard Eddie's voice but ignored him as he walks away, but Eddie wouldn't have it.
"Parker!!!" Eddie Brock ran up and stopped him from leaving.
Peter sees Eddie Brock in front of him. "What do you want, Brock?"
"You... You ruined my life, Parker!" Eddie Brock blames Peter.
"After you tried to ruin Spider-Man's life with your fake picture. You brought this on yourself, Brock. So don't come and blame me for your mistakes." Peter says to Eddie Brock.
"You've done nothing but humiliated me just like Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider have. You knew about Dr. Connors being the Lizard all along and yet you've done nothing but make me look like an idiot to everyone else." Eddie Brock is very angry.
"It's not very hard, look at yourself, you're nothing but a joke. You're a poor loser, Brock." Peter insults Eddie Brock.
The crowd all say "Oh!!!", Eddie Brock got more angrier as he throws the first jab but Peter caught it and twisted Brock's wrist behind his back, he's got Eddie trapped.
"Ow! Damn you, Parker!!!" Eddie Brock is in pain.
"You shouldn't never have messed with Spider-Man, this is all your own doing." Peter still has Eddie pinned.
"Let go of me!!!" Eddie Brock demanded of Peter.
Peter looked at the fountain and has an idea on how to humiliate Eddie further.
"As you wish!" Peter tossed Eddie into the fountain.
Eddie Brock was pushed into the fountain as the whole crowd watched as he climbs out of the water all wet. Everyone started laughing at Eddie Brock and even took pictures and recorded the event. Eddie sees the crowd laughing at him being all humiliated in front of everyone, he couldn't take it as he ran away. Peter watched as Eddie Brock is all wet and humiliated, he didn't care as he has other things to worry about, finding the Beetle is the top priority.
Later at the Spider-Cave, Ghost-Spider drops in to find Spider-Man on the supercomputer looking through S.H.I.E.L.D.'s files and pulled up an image on the man who attacked him and MJ.
"Is that the guy who tired to kill you both?" Ghost-Spider asking Spider-Man.
"Yeah, this is the guy. According to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s files, his real name is Abner Jenkins, graduated from Annapolis and M.I.T., worked as an aerospace engineer for the Navy and was also a SEAL until he got dishonorably discharged and started selling his services to the highest bidder. He has killed all over the world from Delvadia to Latveria. He calls him the Beetle." Spider-Man explained to Ghost-Spider.
"And now this guy is after all three of us." Ghost-Spider says to Ghost-Spider.
"Let him come, I'll be waiting and ready for him this time. He'll pay for trying to kill MJ, I swear it." Spider-Man wants revenge.
"Peter, you need to get that suit off right now!" Ghost-Spider advised Spider-Man.
"I can't, I need it's power to face this Beetle." Spider-Man refused to let go of the suit.
"Peter, please listen to me, this suit is alive, it's a symbiote. Dr. Connors told me that the longer you have it on you, the more it'll take over your life, you have to get it off before it's too late." Ghost-Spider tells Spider-Man to get the suit off.
"I can't, I still have the Beetle to deal with first." Spider-Man gets up and walks away.
"Peter, get rid of it!" Ghost-Spider says to Spider-Man.
"I need it!" Spider-Man leaves the Spider-Cave.
Ghost-Spider is very worried that the symbiote is influencing his mind to keep from separating the suit. His anger for the Beetle has now heightened as Spider-Man will want to seek revenge for MJ.
It's nighttime in the city as Eddie Brock is hiding himself under a hoodie and sunglasses waiting in line to a night club along with many others. The bouncer is letting in a couple of ladies inside.
"Go on ahead and have some fun. Next!"
Eddie Brock is about to enter until the bouncer stopped him in his tracks before he could enter.
"Something wrong?" Eddie Brock still hiding his identity.
"Yeah, no hoods or sunglasses. Take them off before you go inside."
Eddie Brock comply as he removed the hood off his head and his sunglasses too, he shows his face as everyone recognized him.
"Holy shit, you're Eddie Brock! You're the photographer who tried to destroy Spider-Man with your fake photo."
"Yeah, what of it?" Eddie Brock tells the bouncer.
"My kid brother is a huge fan, he was disappointed to see that photo in the paper. Until it was later that the Bugle issued an apology saying that a guy sold them a fake picture, that Spider-Man was innocent."
"Whatever, are you going to let me in or not?" Eddie Brock says to the bouncer.
"Sorry, pal. The club is full right now, even if it isn't, nobody wants to see your ugly face right now."
"Think I care what anyone thinks? Think you're something special, pal? No wonder you're reduced to nothing but standing outside all night letting people in for minimal wage. Here, have a tip, you jerk!" Eddie Brock insulted the bouncer by tossing a pack of dollars in face.
The bouncer felt offended as he pushed Eddie Brock back and strikes back with a punch to the face, everyone watched the disgraced photographer down on the ground.
"Better beat it, cause you're banned from this place, loser."
"Get out of here, you faker!"
"You're a fraud!"
"Go away!"
Eddie Brock watched as the whole crowd insulted him without any hesitation, the humiliation he suffered has grown too much as he gets up and runs away.
At the 13th precinct, George Stacy is walking with Yuri Watanabe as they're working overtime to find this Beetle before he strikes again.
"Have you notified the other precincts?" George Stacy asking Yuri Watanabe.
"Already down, every officer in the city are on the lookout for this Beetle. Hopefully they'll spot him. As for the hospital where Mary Jane Watson is resting, I have officers there guarding the place in case he tries to kill her again." Yuri Watanabe says to George Stacy.
"Good, because no one is safe until this guy is stopped, not even my daughter." George Stacy says his worries.
Meanwhile at the front desk of the precinct, an officer is sitting doing some paperwork until a shady individual walked in wearing a coat and a hat.
"Can I help you?"
"Actually, it's more like I can help you. I have some information concerning the guy you're looking for, the Beetle."
"You know where he is?"
"He's right in front of you." Beetle raised his arm and fired his wrist laser.
He just killed an officer without hesitation, he took off the coat and is all dressed in his armor.
"Time to get Spider-Man's attention." Beetle says to himself.
More police officers responded to the attack as they spotted the Beetle here in their own precinct, they all started shooting their gun, but their bullets are ineffective against his armor, he fired both his wrist lasers at them.
Both George and Yuri heard gunshots happening inside this very station. He got up and sees all the officers mobilizing to respond to this threat.
"Sergeant Davis, what's happening?" George Stacy asking Jefferson Davis.
"The Beetle is here and he's attacking the precinct." Jefferson Davis informed George Stacy.
"I'll go and get us some heavy weapons!" Yuri Watanabe tells George Stacy.
Yuri and Jefferson both went to get some weapons as George Stacy stayed behind in the office pulling out his phone and made a call.
Spider-Man is still patrolling the city hoping to find the Beetle, he then got a call on his phone, he swings onto a ledge, he pulls it out to see George Stacy is calling him.
Spider-Man answered the call. "Captain Stacy."
"Spider-Man, the Beetle is here at the 13th and he's already attacking the officers stationed here, we're doing our best to hold him back, but we can us your help." George Stacy informed Spider-Man of the Beetle.
"I'm on my way." Spider-Man hangs up the phone.
Spider-Man jumps and swings the other way towards the 13th precinct as fast as he can.
Ghost-Spider is still at the Spider-Cave using the supercomputer to monitor for any leads on the Beetle, the computer got an alert.
"Attention all unit, the 13th precinct is under attack, send immediate assistance! The Beetle has assaulted the precinct! I repeat, the 13th precinct is under attack, requesting immediate assistance!"
"Oh no! Dad!" Ghost-Spider is worried.
Ghost-Spider got off the chair and rushed out of the Spider-Cave in hope to save her father in time.
Back at the 13th, a few number of police officers have died and others injured, George Stacy, Yuri Watanabe, and Jefferson Davis all have vests on and armed with semi automatic rifles along with some of the remaining officers. They all barricaded themselves behind some desks, they await as the elevator to their floor is coming up, they have their rifles ready to shoot.
"Steady." George Stacy aiming his rifle.
The elevator stopped on their floor as the doors are opening, they see nothing inside as they're all confused.
"What the?" Yuri Watanabe is confused.
"Where is he?" Jefferson Davis is confused too.
Out of thin air, laser shots are fired as the Beetle decloaked himself, they all started to fire off their guns at him, the Beetle is still protected by his armor. He raised his other wrist as he fired off a rocket at them, destroying the barricade desks and sending a shockwave on all of the officers.
Beetle sees that the officers are stunned by the shockwave as they all have their senses temporarily off. He walks up closer to see George Stacy is still recovering his sense.
"Captain George Stacy, we finally meet." Beetle looking down at George Stacy.
He aims his wrist laser as he's prepared to kill Captain Stacy, Spider-Man came crashing through the window and webbed up Beetle's wrist and pulled it away, diverting the laser blast and saving George's life. Yuri and Jefferson helps George up on his feet as everyone still alive leaves the floor.
"Spider-Man, here at last." Beetle is pleased to see Spider-Man again.
"So it's not enough that you had to try to kill two innocent teens, now you're out killing cops. How far have you fallen." Spider-Man is very disappointed.
"It's nothing personal, it's just a job I was hired to do." Beetle says to Spider-Man.
"It is personal to me. You tried to kill someone very dear to me and now you're going to pay for that." Spider-Man isn't too happy.
"So it's revenge you want, so be it. Once I'm done with you, my reputation will extend greatly, the man who killed Spider-Man, has a nice ring to it, wouldn't you say?" Beetle says to Spider-Man.
"From what I see is a poor excuse of a man, everything special about you came from your suit. Without it, you're nothing." Spider-Man says to Beetle.
"And you think that your new suit makes you look more dangerous, so far I'm not impressed." Beetle says to Spider-Man.
"You'll be surprised what my suit is capable of, as you're about to get a taste of it." Spider-Man says to Beetle.
"Bring it!" Beetle dares Spider-Man.
Spider-Man fires off some black webbing at Beetle but he jumps and hover above the ground. He then tossed some grenades as Spider-Man move quickly to avoid the blasts. Spider-Man picked up a desk and tossed it with all his strength.
"Nice try!" Beetle sees the desk coming.
Beetle uses his wrist lasers to destroy the tossed desk and shattering it to pieces. Spider-Man fired off a couple of webbing passed him as he slingshots himself at him and dropkick him off the air. Beetle fell down hard as his flight pack has taken damage. He gets up and tries to fly but is unable to since his pack isn't working.
"So you've managed to keep me on the ground. That's fine, I can still take you on." Beetle activates his camouflage.
Spider-Man fired some webbing as the Beetle disappeared out of thin air, he missed as he can't see him. Spider-Man is remaining cautious of his surroundings.
"So what's the itsy bitsy spider to do?" Beetle still remains invisible and taunting Spider-Man.
Spider-Man still can't see him as a couple of laser are fired towards him and Spider-Man reacted by jumping and dodging the laser fire.
"You got lucky, though it's only a matter of time until I squash you like the bug you are." Beetle taunting Spider-Man.
Spider-Man still can't find the Beetle still being cloaked, waiting to attack again and catch Spider-Man unaware.
"Stay invisible if you want, I'll still find you!" Spider-Man looking around for the Beetle.
Spider-Man is unaware that Beetle is coming towards him from behind as he has a blade pulled out of his wrist. Spider-Man closes his eyes as he plans to wait until the Beetle strike back again.
"Come and get me." Spider-Man says in his thoughts.
The Beetle came in a little close with his blade until Spider-Man's senses tingled and he reacted by executing a spinning back heel kick to the face, Beetle fell down and his suit is decloaking.
"Gotcha!" Spider-Man says to Beetle.
"That's impossible." Beetle is stunned.
"Is it?" Spider-Man says to Beetle.
Beetle tries to react by aiming his wrist lasers but Spider-Man is quick enough to catch them both before they fired, he uses all his strength to crust them. Both of Beetle's main weapons are disabled as Spider-Man now has the advantage.
"Now to take away all your weapons." Spider-Man says to Beetle.
Spider-Man uses all his strength to rip off the suit off the Beetle's body and reducing him to nothing but an bodysuit underneath. Ghost-Spider arrived in time to see that Spider-Man has defeated the Beetle.
"Now you're nothing without your suit." Spider-Man says to Beetle.
Spider-Man then picks up Beetle and holds him towards the window as Ghost-Spider is shocked to see what he is doing. The Beetle is held out the window and looking down as Spider-Man is the only thing holding him up.
"What are you doing?! You've beaten me, I give up!" Beatle is panicking in fear.
"You almost killed a innocent girl and now you've murdered some police officers, you're a cop killer now. That's something you'll have to pay for with your life." Spider-Man says with a threatening voice.
"No... you can't do this!" Beetle is afraid for his life.
"Spider-Man, he's already been beaten, let him live with what he had done and face justice the right way." Ghost-Spider tells Spider-Man.
"Then what? He gets sent to prison and then at some point he gets out and does this same thing over again. I can't risk him living so that he can continue harming innocent people. I've always played judge and jury many times, but never the executioner... until now." Spider-Man isn't backing down.
"Spider-Man, you can't do this!" Ghost-Spider tries to reach out to Spider-Man.
"Why not? I have the power." Spider-Man is consumed by power.
"Then remember what your uncle use to say! Remember!" Ghost-Spider reminded Spider-Man of Ben's lesson.
Spider-Man then remembers Ben's words in his head as he hesitates to do something he'll regret.
"With Great Power comes Great Responsibility, remember that, Pete, remember that." Uncle Ben's words.
Spider-Man realizes that what he's doing is wrong, he couldn't bring himself to take another person's life.
"You're right, this isn't the right way. Okay, Ghost-Spider, you win." Spider-Man still holding Beetle in the air.
"Thank you, I knew you make the right choice." Ghost-Spider is relieved.
The symbiote costume formed to push Beetle off of Spider-Man's hands as Spidey himself is shocked by what just happened, Beetle is yelling out as he's falling.
"What just happened?! What is this costume doing?!" Spider-Man fired some webbing at Beetle.
The Beetle fell down until the webbing caught him and stopped his fall, Spider-Man was able to save him in time but he's shocked by what his costume was doing.
"Spider-Man!" Ghost-Spider is shocked.
"That wasn't me, I swear! It's like this suit has a mind of its own. I'm so sorry, I have go!" Spider-Man is stunned.
Spider-Man runs and jumps off the window as Ghost-Spider watched him swing away, she then looks down to see the Beetle safely on the ground after the fall he got from the symbiote.
Far away from the 13th precinct, Spider-Man is hanging from the clock tower of a cathedral, he felt guilty by what he had become, a monster. He then looks at his hands to see the black suit that became a part of him, the very reason he is like this right now.
"I know what I must do." Spider-Man made a decision.
Spider-Man jumps down to the balcony and enters the clock tower. Spider-Man stood so close to the bell as he began to do his part in taking off the suit.
"This suit is the source of all my problems, I need to get it off." Spider-Man says to himself.
Spider-Man's hands pulled hard to get the suit off but it's proven to be very difficult as the symbiote is fighting back and refusing to separate from its host
"I... I can't get it off!" Spider-Man is having trouble.
Spider-Man keeps on trying but it's still difficult to separate the symbiote, he struggles and moves around, he bumps himself into the bell, making it ring loudly, the symbiote was in pain as Spider-Man felt it too.
"That pain, it's hurts very much like before. Why?" Spider-Man remembers this pain.
(Flashback)
"You're not going anywhere!" Spider-Man jumps after the Beetle.
The Beetle tossed a sonic grenade at Spider-Man, the hero got caught in the blast as the suit is in pain from all the loud noises. The symbiote couldn't stand loud noise and went on a frenzy.
(Present)
"Of course, sonic vibrations. You hate loud noises. If I do this!" Spider-Man rang the bell some more loud sounds.
The bell rang loudly again as the symbiote is weakening from all the loud noises, Spider-Man took the opportunity to remove the suit from himself, the symbiote is having trouble maintaining its bond as Spider-Man is able to remove a part of the suit easily.
"Hey, it's working!" Spider-Man says to himself.
As the bell continues ringing very loudly and causing the symbiote more pain, Spider-Man is able to remove the whole suit from himself, leaving him in his dark clothes. Peter is finally free from the symbiote as its slithers away in pain down from the tower.
"Saved by the bell." Peter smiled in relief.
Peter felt weakened by the separation of the symbiote as Ghost-Spider managed to find Peter in the bell tower, he looks like he about to faint down, she managed to catch him and kept him standing on his win two feet.
"Peter? Peter, are you alright?" Ghost-Spider asking Peter.
"Yeah... I feel like my old self again." Peter felt normal.
"That's great, separating from the symbiote must've removed its influence on you. And the symbiote?" Ghost-Spider asking Peter.
"Gone, I finally managed to free myself from it. Gwen, I'm... so sorry, for everything." Peter apologizes to Ghost-Spider.
"It's okay, you weren't yourself. I'm just glad that you've got all your marbles back." Ghost-Spider says to Peter.
"Thanks, and the Beetle?" Peter asking Ghost-Spider.
"Don't worry, he's been taken by S.H.I.E.L.D., he's on his way to the Raft." Ghost-Spider explained to Spider-Man.
"That's good to know, this nightmare is over. Come on, let's get out of here." Peter suggested to Ghost-Spider.
Ghost-Spider took off one of her web-shooters and gave it to Peter. They both jumped and swing away from the cathedral, the symbiote is still alive and moving deeper inside the cathedral.
At Rikers, Wilson Fisk is in his cell as James Wesley came in to find him listening to music and reading a book.
"Bad news, the Beetle has failed, he's been taken into custody." James Wesley informs Wilson Fisk.
"Let me guess, Spider-Man has won, again." Wilson Fisk suspected as much.
"I'm afraid so, it maybe wise to suspend all assassinations against Parker and his friends. The police will most likely try to link you to theses crimes." James Wesley advised Wilson Fisk.
"Beetle still doesn't know that I'm the one who hired him, the money he got paid came from an offshore account, and the burner phone I've used has been destroyed, but you're right, I'll have to give up this fight for now. Spider-Man may have won this battle, but a war is coming and I plan to win it, that's my promise." Wilson Fisk says to James Wesley.
Wilson Fisk is still planning his long term process of getting out of prison, he still has a list of enemies to destroy for his downfall, the biggest one of them all os Spider-Man.
Later in the hospital in Queens, Peter is coming to check up on Mary Jane to see how she is doing, but his biggest concerns is that moment he and MJ shared before this disaster happened, he moment they've kissed each other.
Peter approached the room to find Harry Osborn still here, waiting for Mary Jane to wake up. Mary Jane started opening her eyes to see Harry next to her.
"Harry?" Mary Jane just woke up.
"MJ, I'm so glad that you're okay. I was so worried." Harry quickly hugged Mary Jane.
"Hey, I'm okay Harry." Mary Jane hugged Harry back.
"MJ, I'm so sorry about everything." Harry says to Mary Jane.
"It's okay, I'm sorry too." Mary Jane says to Harry.
Peter watched as Mary Jane reconciled with Harry, he decided that this isn't the time to talk about their moment, he decided to walk away. Mary Jane still remembers that moment she and Peter kissed each other, but neither Harry nor Gwen knows, she now carries another secret that she needed to hide from her two friends.
It's midnight around New York as Eddie Brock is all broken up ever since he became publicly humiliated by everybody, he lost his job, his reputation has been ruined, he was blacklisted from the photography industry, he got humiliated by Peter and Jameson for his actions, his entire world spiraled out of control.
He walks up to a cathedral and enters all weeping, he applied holy water on himself and does the prayer. He approached the altar and got on his knees in front of Jesus Christ. Unknown to Eddie Brock, the symbiote is still alive and moving towards him as it found a suitable host to bond with.
"It's me, Eddie Brock. I come before you today... humbled... and humiliated." Eddie Brock is tearing up. "To ask you for one thing." Eddie looked up in tears. "I want you to help me kill Peter Parker."
The symbiote quickly attacks Eddie Brock and started to bond with him.
"What the?! What is this?! No, get off of me!!! No!!!!" Eddie Brock yelled out in fear.
Eddie Brock still struggles until he got consumed by the symbiote as his screaming stopped and it formed a suit all around him, turning him into something else entirely. He then gets up and laughed sinisterly.
"And so god has finally answered my prayers. He has given me the power to exact vengeance against everyone who's every wronged me, especially Peter Parker. But now I see it, it's been in front of me this entire time, Peter Parker is Spider-Man. He has destroyed him life and now I'll shall pay him back in full. It must be fate that we found each other and bond together, we both been wronged by the same man. We shall have vengeance, we shall be his poison, we are... VENOM!" Eddie Brock has become Venom.
