Prehistoric Growing Pains Chapter Six

The Cold Time had finally arrived in the Great Valley. First, it started slowly. The wind began to grow stronger, louder, and colder. The Bright Circle didn't show itself often to heat the land. The sky puffies grew darker like it was going to rain and start sky roaring, but instead they turned red. Soon, sky ice water fell on the ground. When Sky ice water fell down suddenly, it brought the Cold Time. Sometime it fell suddenly, but slowly. It was cold, of course. The whole Great Valley was covered by ice and fallen sky ice water. There was no food anywhere, not even grubs for little sharp teeth like Chomper to eat. There was nothing to do in the Cold Time. Either sleep or freeze, find little food, or chase each other in the fallen sky ice water. When the Cold Time was, there was ice hopping on the river. As for the rest of the time, there was really noting to do except to look for food and walking on fallen sky ice water.

Little foot was with his herd searching for hidden greens. It was a harsh hungry time during the Cold Time in Great Valley, but it probably was a lot worse in the Mysterious Beyond. There were dangers; A lot more dangers then in The Great Valley. There were sharp teeth unlike the Great Valley where none were permitted to live except for Chomper, who was a friend and a kid. Little foot hatch him from an egg. He and his friends had found. As Little foot ate the little he could find, he wondered about Simba and Bambi. Simba probably never experienced the Cold Time where he lived? What about Bambi? Bambi lived in woodland area. Little foot thought for a moment, but he couldn't see any visions. Why? He never had problems before not seeing visions. Maybe because he never wanted to see them to begin with. It was like same thoughts that came to his mind. Little foot sometimes would stare at the ice water falling from the sky under his grandparents or a cave for shelter. He looked up at the dark sky puffies pouring down ice water. Without realizing, he was having another vision about Bambi.

Bambi was starting to appear though all the melting ice sky water. Little foot saw Bambi again with his mother in the forest at night. They were settling down to sleep. Bambi yawned besides his mother while the sky roared above. All of sudden, he awoke to see the sky water falling from the nearby tree stars. One drop fell on his nose. At first, the sky water fell slowly on the tree stars near him, then it started to fall faster. Bambi looked all around seeing sky water falling from the sky on the tree stars. It fell far from the tree stars to the ground and rocks making little rivers . The little stream ran in front of Bambi and the Quail family who rushed past it to get out of the fallen sky water. A small, brown, bushy tailed furry went up to its tree to get out of sky water. A feathery creature flew back to her nest. She landed and sat on her hatchlings to keep them dry from falling sky water. She snuggled on top of them. Two peeked out of her wing to snuggle in her warm body. One popped his head out and a water drop hit his head. Little foot smiled. It quickly went under his mother's wing after that. A small big eared flurry scurried across to get out of the fallen sky water. It hid under a mushroom after getting hit by a water drop. A family of large feathery creatures ran past. Their mother had a large feathery tail that the furry ran under. He climbed up a tall stick of grass to get to his home, which was made from tall grasses. Near some water with tall stick grasses, some feathery creatures that look like Ducky were swimming. They swam away.

It started to get windy. It scared Bambi that he hid his head under his mother. His mother looked up to see the sky water pouring down from the sky. Dark puffies floated by over the tall trees. Then, the sky lights lit over the trees that it scared Bambi because it shined on him. Bambi moved around panicking while mother looked on worried.

As the sky lights flashed, Bambi hid under his mother. She looked at him motherly. A little feathery bird hide in a flower while the sky water kept falling. Little foot watched a hill become a waterfall. A furry eyed bird with horned feathers above his eyes stretched out his head up in fright as if he was awakened. He grumbled while he moved, turning his back on the water storm. Bambi kept trying to hide under his mother while Thumper's family hide in their burrow. They watch safety as the rain poured down. It was a long time before the sky water stopped. The bright circle came out and the sky water slowly fell on the tree stars. It fell lightly on the blue birds in the trees. They fluttered their wings to get the sky water off of them. Bambi was already asleep beside his mother. Little foot was happy for his friend.

"Little foot!" Yelled a voice out of nowhere. It was Cera. "We got to find others so we all can look for my niece and nephew."

Quickly Little foot and Cera went to find the others to help. First, they find Duckie. Duckie replied surprised. "Your niece and nephew lose again? Oh no, no no, they are not. No, they are not lost it at all. They are playing with Spike and Petrie in the snow. I will show you." Duckie did that by taking Cera and Littlefoot to where they are playing in the snow. This was something unusual for Littlefoot. No one in the Great Valley ever play in the snow.

"Why are they playing in the snow?" He asked.

"I don't know. They were eating it at first. Yup, Yup, eating it" Before anyone wondered why Spike and Petrie were eating snow. Tria came out running toward them crying in terror. "Dana, Dinah were going to feed me to the baby sharp tooth."

"Cry baby!" Petrie is not real sharp tooth " Dinah snapped. Dana was too busy moving snow around.

"We are playing Sharp tooth." Petrie explained.

"Hmm.." Spike grumbled snacking on some snow.

What tasty snow grubs? Usually sharp tooth only eat snow when thirsty along with avoid yellow and brown snow when leaf eaters are around." Chomper munched.

"I hope you are not eating yellow and brown snow, Spike?" Duckie said looking concerned at Spike.

"Ah- nah" Spike muttered shaking his head to the side.

"Oh good" Duckie sighed in relief.

"What is this about feeding me to baby snow three horns?" Chomper asked the three horns twins.

Yes, why were trying to put Tria inside one of them snow grubs you were making for us?"asked Ruby.

"No, we were playing feed the sharp teeth" Dana said as he stomped the snow down. Dinah paddled it down to make a long snow grub. Tria came around still half sobbing to move the snow with her nose while Chomper threw snow around in the air.

"Wheee!"

"Burp!" Spike gulped out after stuffing himself with snow.

"Yes, why are you trying to feed your aunt to sharp tooth?" Cera asked annoyed at Dana and Dinah.

"We just playing!" Dana huffed back.

"Tria didn't think so. You don't want me to tell Grandpa Topps about the silly game, do you?"

"No!" They both said shaking their heads. "We are sorry." They both try to say in unison.

"Not to me. To Tria." Cera reminded . They repeated themselves to Cera who looked annoyed that they were still addressing their apology to her. Tria, however, didn't seem to mind.

"It is okay." She giggled as she ran off to play.

"Lets' roll down the snow !" Said Little foot.

"Yes,Yes" Duckie replied. "Let's us roll about. Move our arms about and round in circles and up and down on the ground."

"Up and down, down and up." Ruby answered. "Try it, Chomper." Chomper did. Tria did. Spike and Petrie did. Ruby was laying on the ground moving her feathery arms with glee up and down in the snow.

"Up and Down !" Petrie moving his wings up and down on the snowy ground with his eyes closed.

"Umm and dmm!" Spike grunted as he rolled around on the snow.

"Up and down!" Chomper said as he moved his tiny arms up and down with his big legs opening and shutting back and forth in union.

Tria giggled as she rolled around in the snow.

"What are you doing?" Cera asked looking on.

"We are playing in the snow." Little foot smiled. 'Want to join in"

"Yup, Yup, look at the nice snow swimmer."

"Not really." Cera replied.

Tria laughed at her snow three horn.

"My sharp tooth looks like it has wings." Chomper pointed out.

"So it does." Ruby said when she saw it. "Too bad, you don't really have wings. You could fly with them with your little arms if your feet weren't so big."

"Push the snow to make a path." Little foot giggled.

"Now, you are talking."Cera replied.

Out of nowhere, a big tough voice rang out. "What's that?" It was Mutt. He was pointing to a pile of snow with ice teeth sticking out of from the front.

"It's supposed to be a snow sharp tooth." Chomper told him raising up from the snowy ground.

"Really?" Nod exclaimed.

"Ahh." Mutt questioned.

"Hmph, doesn't look much like anything really?" Hyp snarled.

"Oh can you do better?" Cera snarled back.

"Yay, I can. Come on, you losers, let's show these big snow babies, what real snow Great Valley dwellers look like?" Hyp challenged.

"We are?" Nod asked.

"Hey, Hyp, what do real snow Great Valley dwellers look like ? I never seen them before ?" Mutt asked.

"Me, either ? ! " Petrie shrieked, " Me hope these real Great Valley dwellers aren't sharp teeth."

"Okay, that was really dumb?" Hyp said.

Mutt and Nod laughed.

"Boy, really stupid!" Mutt said.

"Really stupid!" Nod chuckled.

Hyp didn't say anything until his friends stopped laughing. "Do you guys know why it so stupid?"

"Duh!" Mutt stammered. "What are the real Great Valley dwellers?"

"Huh, Hyp, who are they?" Nod asked.

"We are the Great Valley dwellers" answered Cera.

"We are!" Mutt and Nod said together.

"Of course, who else would it be!" Cera snapped.

" Do I have to tell you everything?" Hyp sighed. "Now, show these losers, how to make snow sharp teeth ."

"Okay, Hyp!" Mutt replied. Little foot pushed snow up.

"We need to make little balls and make the bigger! Got it." Hyp said.

"Yes, Yes, we can do that. Start out small and make them big." Duckie laughed as she tried to make a snowball.

Light foot ordered, "The two footers make snow balls and the rest of us roll them up big snowballs."

Ruby, Hyp, Mutt, Duckie, Petrie, and Chomper were all trying to put snow together to make snowballs. Cera, Tria, Spike, Dana, Dinah, Nod, and Little foot rolled the finished snowballs around the snow to make them even bigger. Soon, there was a bottom for the snow sharp tooth. They left another for the middle part and a smaller one for the head. Petrie and Ducky gathered ice teeth for the sharp tooth's teeth.

"How making some fast runners, three horns, swimmers, flyers, and long necks?" suggested Little foot.

"How are we going to do that?" Chomper asked.

"Simple," Little foot said. "We need to use a small snowball for a head and tried to form snow legs with piles of snow."

It was not as simple as Little foot though since ice sculpting had not been invented yet. The snow three horns looked how the original snow sharp tooth looked like. A big lump of snow with three horns on its large snowball head. The flyers looked like a pile of snow with sticks for wings and a snowball head with ice tooth on top of its head. A swimmers big mouth had a big snowball bottom, middle snowball and a smaller snowball with a mouth made of two leaves. A spike tail was a bunch of snow on the ground with big rocks on its back and ice teeth on its snow tail. A snow longneck was harder since they needed a big stick to hold up the neck and head. The stick had a hard time holding it all up. It would kept falling down.

Little foot wondered if Bambi and his friends ever played in the snow during the Cold Time or if they ever had a Cold Time? As Little foot wondered, a vision came to his eyes' once more. He saw Bambi during the Cold Time. Bambi was waking up next to his mother in the morning. He looked around and to his surprise, he saw everything covered with snow. He reacted like Little foot when he first saw snow. He jumped with the birds singing. Bambi turned to his mother. He called out to her, "Mother, look, what is all that stuff?"

His mother looked as surprised as him. "Why, it is snow."

"Snow!" repeated Bambi.

"Yes," Bambi's mother replied.

As Bambi was looking around at the snow, Bambi's mother said, "Winter has come."

Bambi walked out his cave to see the snow. Before he does, he looked around as he cautiously put a foot on the snowy ground. He put his foot back in. Bambi started to trot rapidly on the snow delighted that he could walk on it. He trotted out before long, he noticed his hoof prints on the snow. He is so busy seeing himself making hoof prints that he doesn't see the big hole in front of him. He fell into it. He looked around. Bambi moved rapidly inside the snow before he was out of the hole. He looked at it and heard jingling sounds. He followed the strange sounds. Some snow fell from the tree tops near where Bambi was walking. Bambi went to investigate the strange sounds. Some more snow fell from the trees. He ran trying to avoid being hit by the constant snow falling from the tree tops. Bambi kept on leaping around avoiding the snow piles dropping from the tree tops until some fell directly on him, covering him. He slowly raised his head up from the snow and quickly shook it off.

All of a sudden, Thumper's voice rang out. "Hiya ! Bambi."

Bambi turned in surprise to its source. He looked at the newly fallen snow on the ground in surprise. The snow had fallen top of his head. He smiled at Thumper.

"Watch, what I can do!" Thumper lifted his chest up and quickly ran down the snow slopes to show Bambi. He leaped up across the snow landing near the pond's edge. He skidded onto the icy ponds with snow, all over me. Then, he slides across the hard water pond twirling around the ice with his paws on his back feet. He whirled around on his bottom. Little foot couldn't believe his eyes. He held his breathe while Thumper slide on the hard water.

"Come on, it is All right." Thumper jumped as he said it.

Little foot watched in terror. Was the hard water going to break?

"Look the waters is stuff!" Thumper exclaimed as he thumped the hard water hard. "Whee Whee!" Thumper cried out.

Bambi looked scared at first, but then, Bambi smiled. Ha ran as fast as he could down the snowy hill and leaped as far and as fast as he could. "Yahoo!" He leaped up.

Landing on the icy water, he crashed on all fours, spinning around the hard water until he stopped. He looked confused while Thumper skated around him. Thumper went right up to Bambi and said some fun, ahh, Bambi? Thumper was holding his feet. Bambi smiled back, and then frustrated sadly putting his head down.

"Come on, get up. Like this." Thumper told him. Thumper got up with a leaping started to skate around the frozen pond. He swiftly turned around sliding backwards to see Bambi who happily got up to join him. Bambi fell again on his belly with his four legs spread. Bambi looked around to see what had happened. He looked at his back feet, then at his front feet and finally at his back feet angrily. He tried to get up again, but his feet kept slipping down. First, his front feet and then his back feet until he was on the ice once more.

Thumper laughed. "No, No, No!" Thumper came to help by lifting Bambi's tail up and Bambi's legs. Bambi's legs crossed over the ice. Thumper lifted Bambi's head up so he could lift Bambi off the ice. He moved Bambi's right leg straight, then the back legs and the left front leg.

"Kinda of wobbly, aren't ya?" Thumper said before Bambi trembled like he was starting to fall down. Quickly Thumper skidded away to the back of Bambi. He started the process of straightening the legs, but had to avoid once again, Bambi falling on top of him. This time around barely avoiding Bambi did falling on the ice and on top of him, Thumper glared his throat undignified. Thumper lifted the back side of Bambi, following him around. He picked up Bambi's head. This time, pushing him onto the ice backward, which Bambi slides a bit on the ice. However, his back legs crisscrossed.

"Got use both ends at the same time!" Thumper instructed. He skated around Bambi's back.

"Guess I'll better unwind it." Thumper took Bambi's right leg and swung it around moving Bambi with him on the ice. He lifted Bambi's rear up, pushing him across the ice. Bambi was scared as he went on the ice as he was turning to see Thumper and gulping as he slides on the ice. Thumper got in front of Bambi as he started to fall down on the ice. When Bambi felt down on all fours, Thumper pushed happily up to the snow. However, Bambi went sliding with Thumper. Bambi kept on opening his mouth and closing it as he tried to avoid falling. Bambi started to fall again. Thumper tried to avoid Bambi by running out of the way, but Bambi ran right into Thumper taking him across the ice. Both Bambi and Thumper looked frightened as they crashed into the snowbank.

"Whoa!" Thumper yelled.

Little foot held his breath with his mouth open. He was afraid for his visionary friends. Little foot sighed relief to see them okay. Bambi was stuck on the snowbank with his back leg and his tail up. Thumper climbed out of the snow. As Bambi tried to get out, Thumper hopped along the snow. He stopped to get snow out of his ears by hitting them. As he tried to remove more snow from his ears, he heard loud snoring. Curious, he went to see who was snoring. Thumper looked in a small cave only to see Flower asleep. There was Flower asleep on his leafy nest with his feet sticking out. Bambi went next to Thumper to see what was going on.

Thumper decided to thump with his foot on the snowy ground and yell, "Wake up, Wake up, Flower!"

Flower stretched his legs high up. "Hmm, is it spring, yet?" Flower asked drowsily.

"Nope, winter just started." Bambi answered.

"What you doin, hibernating?" Thumper asked.

Flower rubbed hie eye and yawned. "Ah, huh!"

"Hibernating?" Little foot asked his vision.

Suddenly, as the vision came, the vision was gone. Little foot looked only to see his friends finishing the newly built snow sharp tooth. The snow sharp tooth had two stick arms with ice teeth in its mouth. It had two red berries for eyes.

"It looks scary." Chomper roared delighted.

"Yep, aa ah." Mutt muttered.

"Sure, does." Nod replied nodding his spiked head.

"Don't lie, you guys! It looks like a yellow belly and sharp tooth had a hatchling!" Hyp yelled holding his chin.

"That's why it is so scary, Hyp" Mutt answered back.

"Hmmm, you got a point there." Hyp said looking back at the thing with his fingers to his chin.

"Sharp teeth and Yellow bellies should never mate." Nod commented.

"At least, we aren't hibernating or fallen on our face on ice water, Hyp." Little foot told him.

"What are you talking about?" Hyp asked.

"Yeah, what are you talking about?" Nod responded.

"You know, what furries do during the winter?" Little foot answered.

"Oh, so now I am a furry." Hyp snapped.

"Oh, I am just saying ?" Little foot responded.

"If I were a dumb furry, I wouldn't be fallen on ice water." Hyp snapped again.

" Yeah, you will be falling into the ice water and then we have to save again like we did with the tar water." Chuckled Mutt.

"Do you always have to bring that up?" Hyp scorned angrily at Mutt.

Little foot giggled.

Cera remarked, "What's wrong, Hyp? Can't take it?"

"Oh yeah," Said Hyp angrily that he took a snowball and threw it at Cera hitting directly in the face. "Take that!"

"Oh yeah!" Cera snorted back.

She went to a pile of snowballs and started whacking them with her tail at Hyp and his friends.

"Whoosh!" The snowballs hit Hyp.

"All youse guys are going to getting now." Hyp shrieked.

"We shall see." Cera said.

Little foot turning his head to her while being pummeled with snowballs.

"Oh no, no, we are fighting each other with snow balls!" exclaimed Duckie holding her hands to her face looking concerned. Ruby looked sad as all of this was going on.

Petrie looked terrified before he got hit off Spike with snow ball. "Yikes!"

Spike looked in terror with his big eyes and mouth opened as he got clobbered by snowballs.

"Shouldn't we be throwing snowballs at the snow sharp tooth?" Chomper said like he was far away.

"What's the sharp tooth word for fighting?" Hyp asked.

"It's WARRRRRR!" growled Chomper.

"War!" Nod said puzzled.

"War, it is!" Hyp shouted. "War!" All his gang shouted as they threw snowballs at Little foot's friends were being hit and hitting them with snowballs. After getting hit by a stray snow ball, Little foot laughed uncontrolled.

"Surrender now, Hyp!" Yelled Cera triumphantly as she charged and landed on Hyp.

"Get off of me, you big egg !" Hyp screamed.

"Not before you surrender to me!" Cera demanded on top of Hyp.

"All right, You have won this battle, but not the war." Hyp quipped.

Before long, Little foot and his friends were growing bigger, and bigger. Soon, they were the same height as Hyp and his buddies were. Hyp and his pals were now full grown, but some of Little foot's friends were bigger. Even Little foot had grown so much, he was almost half the size of Grandpa Longneck. It was now going to be the Time of Long Travelers to return to the Great Valley. It was the Time of Great Growth had already started once more this year .
