Chapter 4: Dodgebrawl
Kris was standing at the dock, "Last time on Total Drama Island, the Screaming Gophers kicked butt at the Awak-a-thon when Denica took a snooze on the can and the Killer Bass took their second loss in a row. Harsh. Heath orchestrated the first Total Drama Island alliance, by convincing Lenny and Bert to join forces with him. Then pocketed Ivan's MP3 player and sat back to watch the fireworks. Nicely played Heath, nicely played. Even though Ivan could have pretty much kicked anyone's butt here, in the end, it was his temper that got him kicked off. He became the second camper to rock the Boat of Losers. Who will break the rules of their new alliance? Will Glen be able to stay awake until the end of the episode? And who will take the next humiliating walk down the Dock of Shame? Stay tuned for the most dramatic campfire ceremony yet on TOTAL DRAMA ISLAND!"
*theme song*
All the campers were sitting at the main lodge. Both teams are still tired and recovering from the Awak-a-thon. The worst being Denica, who's completely miserable and is resting her head on the table. Glen and Harriet are the only ones not present.
"Denica..." Kris came over to the Killer Bass table with a massive grin. "You look like crap, girl."
"Stuff it." Denica glared at her then went back to sleep.
"Harriet snored all night." Curtis said, also looking like crap.
"Wooowhoowhoww, four nights with no sleep?" Kris said to Denica while laughing, "How much are you hurting, girl?"
"Wanna find out?!" Denica said, now extremely ticked off.
"No, no, it's cool. It's cool!" the rest of Denica's team were hiding under the table, just then Harriet came through the door with a goatee drawn on her face with permanent marker. A series of "ohhhhh" and gasps rang out through the lodge, Harriet strolled in like she was awesome and everyone was trying not to laugh, when she sat down they couldn't hold it in anymore and all cracked up.
"Okay, what?!" Harriet asked.
"Someone messed with your face, man." Georgia said.
"Huh?" Harriet looked at herself with the back of a spoon, "Hey, who did this?" she tried rubbing it off, then she glared at Denica, she looked like she was about to say something but Kris interrupted.
"Hey everyone, it's Glen!" Glen walked through the door, looking like Death and his team cheered.
Lenny looked at Justice confused, "Why are we clapping?"
Curtis glared at them all.
Glen slumped in his seat, "I'm so tired, I can't feel my face." then he face-planted the table.
CONFESSIONAL - CURTIS
"We are so sucking right now!" Curtis said with a shrug. "Okay, yes, Ivan was a psycho, but at least he was an athletic psycho."
Heath turned to Bert and Lenny, "So, let's go over the rules one more time. Number one, I am the captain of this alliance, so I get to make the rules. Number two...?"
"Breaking the rules can get you kicked out of the alliance?" Lenny smiled.
"Good! Number three, I can borrow any of your stuff whenever I want without asking, but my stuff is strictly off-limits. Especially my hair gel!"
"I don't know about that last rule." Lenny said, Bert nodded in agreement.
"That's cool. I can change it... I can also find someone else to take to the final three with me." They both shook their heads in fear, "Good. Wanna have some fun?" they nodded eagerly. Heath stood up and turned to the other team, "Hey fish-heads, way to kick out your strongest player! Why don't you just give up now?" He quickly moved to the side as a lump of food-ish stuff came flying towards him, but it missed and hit Glen instead. "Ha, you suck!" he smiled.
Curtis glared at Heath and the fact that he missed.
"Okay campers, listen up! Your next challenge begins in 10 minutes and be prepared to bring it!"
10 minutes later, all 20 campers were standing on a dodgeball court set up on the beach. There are bleachers on both sides with the walls made of glass.
Denica walked through the room and fell onto the bench, "Wake me up, and it will be the last thing you do." Taylor gulped nervously.
Curtis rolled his eyes, "This is entirely your fault, you know, you and your snoring face!" he yelled at Harriet.
Harriet looked really hurt, "It's called a medical condition, GOSH!"
Lunchlady is wearing a referee uniform with a whistle around her neck. She blows on her whistle and looked at all the campers in disgust, "Today's challenge is the classic game of dodgeball." Kris explained. "The first rule of dodgeball is..."
"Do not talk about dodgeball?" Nora joked, making Olivia laugh and smile at her.
"As I was saying, if you get hit with the ball..." Kris threw the ball at Curtis, which hit him hard in the nuts. Curtis cringed in pain and fell to the floor, "You're out."
"Hey!" Curtis glared up at Kris, "You can't do that!"
She ignored him and picked up the ball after it rolled away from Curtis. "If you catch the ball, the thrower gets sent out and the catcher gets to bring in another team member out on the court."
"Throwing balls. Gee, another mental challenge test." Nora said sarcastically.
"I know, right?" Lenny said, not getting Nora's sarcasm as she and Olivia looked at each other awkwardly.
"Alright Georgia, try to hit me." Kris said as she picked up another ball and throws it to Georgia. "If you're holding a ball, you could use it to deflect a ball. But, if it knocks the ball out of your hands, you're out."
Lenny looked confused, "So wait, what do I do again when the ball comes at me?"
"You dodge!" Kris said as she deflect the ball Georgia threw at her which hits Lenny's face. "Ooohh, you were supposed to dodge! Do you want to get that checked?"
"Oww..." Lenny groaned as he stood up with an ugly lump on his forehead, "Right."
"You have one minute until game time. Gophers, you'll have to sit one person out each game."
Bert, Isaac, LeShawn and Glen were all standing around Heath, "Okay, we can't get lazy. The Killer Bass are gonna be trying extra hard to catch up. Who wants to sit the first one out with Sleeping Beauty here?" He pointed to Glen, who's too tired to even glare at Heath for that remark.
Nora sighed, "Alright, alright, I'll volunteer. Let's see all you keeners get out there and dodge!" she said unenthusiastically.
It was DJ, Curtis, Kam, Taylor and Harriet against Heath, Lenny (who still had a lump on his head), Olivia, LeShawn and Cady, "Bring it on fishies, otherwise winning three in a row won't be as satisfying." Heath taunted.
"OHHH, you're going down! We're gonna bring the dinner to the table, and then we're gonna eat it!" Taylor said, her team looked at her like she was crazy.
"Both teams ready? Best of five games wins. Now let's dodge some balls!" Lunchlady, who's sitting on a high chair between the two bleachers, blew the whistle and the game was on. Cady threw the first ball and it just narrowly missed Taylor, who then spun around really fast and threw the ball back, but it missed and hit Sam in the face instead, making him fall off his seat and one of his sandals fly off his feet. "That's gonna leave a mark." Kris said.
"Nice job." Curtis shoved the ball into Taylor's arms, "Now let's see if you can hit someone on their team!" Olivia ran forward and threw the ball straight into Taylor's stomach, causing her to be flung into the wall.
"Oww, darn it!" Taylor groaned. Lunchlady blew his whistle and Taylor went back to the bench, with Sam glaring at her.
"Time to unleash my wicked skills" Harriet said.
"Yeah? Then bring it, string bean. Let's see what you got!" LeShawn taunted. Harriet did a bunch of karate moves then threw the ball at the floor really hard it bounced back and then landed a couple of centimeters in front of her and then it slowly rolled towards LeShawn who raised an eyebrow and smiled. Harriet runs away screaming and LeShawn chucked the ball at her head, making her face planted into the wall, "And that's how we roll!" LeShawn hollered, then he and Olivia high-fived each other.
Lenny had a ball and walked up to his teammates, "Can someone remind me what I was supposed to do with this again?" Just then, Kam threw the ball and it hit Lenny in the head, he now had two blotches. Kam, Curtis and DJ high-fived each other and Lunchlady blows her whistle. Lenny was walking towards his team's bench when Taylor waved at him, Lenny smiled and waved back, Heath saw this and threw the ball at Taylor's stomach.
"What the heck was that? Ref, she's not even on the court!" Curtis complained.
"Oopsies, my bad." Heath shrugged. Curtis angrily throws the ball at him, but Olivia caught it, "Uhhh... Thanks, Olivia right?"
Olivia smiled at it, "It's alright, that's what friends do."
Lunchlady blew her whistle and Curtis walked off the court and Glen got called up and giving a big yawn. As he was walking on the court, Olivia throws the ball at DJ, who moved to the side then throws her ball and it hit Glen in the head, "Ohhhhhh, sorry."
"No it's cool, seriously." Glen, after Olivia helped him up, looked really happy to be able to go back to sleep.
It was LeShawn and Cady against DJ and Kam. DJ and Kam both threw the ball at LeShawn, he caught the first one but the second one nailed him in the groin.
DJ and Kam smiled evilly at Cady, "Easy out guys, easy out." Curtis encouraged.
Cady threw the ball and spun it at DJ, she ducked but the ball came spinning back around and hit her in the butt.
"That is one tough ball to dodge." Kris said.
Kam threw it at Cady, she ducked and got her ball rubbed up against her shirt so it was full of static electricity and threw it back at Kam, and the ball chased Kam around and then cornered him to the wall. Cady went up and high-fived Olivia.
"We can do this guys, we just have to believe in ourselves!" Harriet encouraged.
"Oh, I believe. I believe YOU SUCK!" Curtis yelled.
"Yeah, you throw like a wimp!" Taylor said. Making Georgia laugh and Sam nod.
Curtis turned to her, "You should talk!"
"It was a warm-up. Look, I can dominate this game. Just give all the balls to me."
Lunchlady blew the whistle.
Curtis was still talking to Tyler, "Alright, but aim for the other side, okay?"
Heath sighed, "Alright Nora, you're up!"
"You know, you guys did such an awesome job on the last game that I don't want to mess up your mojo."
Heath raised an eyebrow, "Fine, but you're playing next round." Bert raised his hand and Heath nodded at him, "Let's go guys!"
It was Sam, Kam, Taylor, who had all the balls, Bert and Georgia against Isaac, Trisha, Olivia, Lenny annd Bert who raised their eyebrows at Taylor. Who spun around and thew the balls at Lunchlady, barely missed Kris, "Hey! Watch the face, missy!" at the benches and the last one hit Lenny in the face.
"NOOOOOOO!" Taylor ran to Lenny.
Curtis looked at them, "Finally, she hit somebody!"
Lenny was just regaining consciousness, "Uhmmm. Taylor? Oh god, my face. How's my face?"
Taylor cringed, "It's really... not that bad" Lenny had blotches all over his face, "You still look cute to me."
"Really?"
"Yeah, really."
Trisha slowly walked up to them and lightly threw the ball at Taylor, it hit her and Lunchlady blew the whistle. Curtis slap his forehead.
"Wanna go for a walk?" Taylor asked Lenny.
Lenny thought to himself, "I have to say no, I have to say no," "Okay!"
Heath looked at them in shock as they both walked off court, "Hey, hey get back here! You are so close to being kicked out of the alliance!"
Olivia looked TO'ed, "Great Gatsby, that is it! GAME ON!" she grabs the ball off of Isaac and throws it at Kam and Sam, then she grabs the ball off Bert and hits Bradley, Trishia hands Olivia her ball and it hits Georgia, really hard in the face, and caused one of her sandals to fly off her foot.
"Oww, that one's worth an instant replay!" Kris laughed as the screen turned to Georgia getting hit in the face, "Forward, remind, forward, rewind, forward, rewind forward, rewind and pause. Ohhhhoohoo, that'll smear her make-up."
"Ohh he dropped it like it was hot!" LeShawn said to Heath.
Lunchlady blew the whistle.
"I don't know what got into me." Olivia laughed.
"A least someone is trying today." Heath looked at Nora.
"Oh sorry... Woo-hoo! Way to throw those murder balls. Go team, go."
"Nice team spirit." Heath glared, and then turns to the Killer Bass. "Hey! It's 2-0. How does it feel to suck so much?"
"Not very good." Harriet sighed.
"It's not over yet!" Curtis said, Heath raised an eyebrow and Curtis flinched, "It's so over."
"Okay this is really bad. One more game and we lose the whole challenge, again! We can't let that happen, people. We need someone strong, someone mean, someone who will crush those stupid Gophers into the dirty!" They all look at Denica who was still sleeping.
DJ shook her head, "Uhhh uhhh, if we wake her up, she'll kill us!"
"She won't kill us guys, she wants to win too."
"Curtis' right! We need Denica's fierceness to win this." Harriet piped up.
"That's the spirit Harriet, now go wake her up!"
"Why me?!"
"Because, other than Taylor, you're the worst at dodgeball. And if she does kill you, you're the only one we can afford to lose."
"No way, I'm not doing it!"
"Well who's gonna wake her up then?" Curtis asked his other, reluctant teammates.
They all got a big stick and started poking Denica's butt with it, "We have to go higher." Curtis said they poked it up her nose and she grabbed it, pulled it out of their grips and snapped it in half.
"Grrr! You better have a really good reason for sticking this up my nose!" Denica threatened Harriet.
Curtis went up between them, "Look, we are down two-nothing. I can appreciate that you need a little nap time, but we need your help!"
"Oh and why should I help you, darling?!"
"Because, I can personally guarantee you that if we lose this game, you'll be the one going home, darling."
Denica sighed, "Fine, I'll play. On one condition, you do what I say when I say it!" Curtis nodded, "Okay, here's a strategy I picked up during my first visit to juvie. It's called 'rush the new guy'."
It was Olivia, Justice, LeShawn, Isaac, and Bert against Curtis, DJ, Denica, Georgia and Kam. Justice and LeShawn threw a ball at Curtis and Denica who dodged, and then Kam caught them and threw them to Denica, so she, Georgia, DJ, and Curtis all had a ball and threw them all at Olivia.
The Killer Bass cheered, they continued Denica's tactic and hit LeShawn, Isaac, Bert, and finally Justice.
"My face, they bruised my valuable, beautiful face!" Justice cried on the court.
"It's okay, Justice. It'll get better." Olivia walked up to Justice to give her a much needed hug. Olivia is feeling turned on right now as she rubbed her hands on Justice's back. "Mmmm."
"Come on, a little effort out there, people!" Nora said. LeShawn and Isaac glare at her.
The Killer Bass cheered, "Okay, we need to do the exact same thing again. So Harriet, sit this one out too." Curtis instructed.
"But I sat the last one out!"
"It's for the good of the team." Georgia gave Harriet a sympathetic pat on the back.
The Screaming Gophers were bummed out, "Okay, not that Nora cares, but we are not losing another game to these guys, got it? And where the hell is Lenny? Arrggghhh!" Heath walked off to go find him. He walked outside and, much to his shock, saw Lenny and Taylor sitting under the dock together. Lenny has his arm around Taylor. "Babe, you're awesome."
"Thanks." Taylor giggled.
"Hey, what did I tell you?!" Heath yelled, startling the couple. "This is so against the rules!"
"I'm sorry man, I didn't mean it." Lenny apologizes.
"Don't apologize to him, Lenny." Taylor said, comforting Lenny, then looks up at Heath. "Hey, why don't you just chill out, rich boy?"
Heath lifts up a canoe, "Hey bitch, why don't you dodge this!" and throws it at Taylor.
"Oww!"
Heath came back, dragging a guilty-looking Lenny by his shirt and pushed him into the bleachers, "Stay there and shut the hell up!"
"Okay." Lenny complied and crossed his leg, looking totally bummed.
"How are we doing?" Heath asked just as Bert got hit with multiple balls.
Nora answered with her nose still in her book, "Sports, not my forte, remember?"
"You know, you could actually give it a shot and pretend to care!"
LeShawn got hit and the Killer Bass won that round, "This is seriously pissing me off!" Heath yelled.
Taylor came back holding her head. Curtis noticed her returning to their bench and asked, "Where were you?"
"Nowhere!"
"You were with that blond Gopher guy, weren't you?"
"No. Maybe. So?"
"So, he could've been getting you to spill all of our weaknesses to him." Meanwhile, Lenny was making his hands talk to each other.
"Okay, this is it. The final tie-breaking game." Kris said.
"Whoohoo, go team, go!" Nora said, still reading her book.
Back at the Killer Bass, "Okay, who's going in?" Denica said.
"I think it's my turn." Harriet suggested.
"No way, we actually have a chance to win this." Curtis frowned at Harriet, who nodded reluctantly and sat out.
"Gophers, Bass. Let's send this sample to the lab, let's see what you're made of!" Kris said.
Lunchlady blew the whistle and the Screaming Gophers passed the ball around. "Come on people! Quick feet, fast hands." Heath yelled.
Taylor was out, and Sam is in only to immediately be hit by a ball. "Damn it!" Sam muttered.
A ball is thrown at DJ who just barely missed it, the ball bounced back and Olivia caught it and threw it at Bradley, but at the same time Curtis threw the ball at Cady.
A few minutes went on and Nora still didn't want to go. "Knock em out, throw em out! Raw, raw." But then a ball came and hit her in the face, much to her teammates' amusement. "You're right, sports aren't your forte." Heath chuckled.
Taylor was out again, allowing Sam to get back in only to once again be hit by a ball immediately. "Goddamn it!" Sam yelled.
After a while more, Georgia got hit and tagged in Harriet, "Back of the court, princess." Denica growled at Harriet. Glen threw the ball at Curtis' face.
"That's for the oatmeal."
"Ohh ho ho ho, you messed with the wrong white boy!" LeShawn laughed.
After a few more minutes only Harriet and Olivia were left, Harriet looked scared and Olivia looked cocky, "Sorry girl, but you gotta go down." The Gophers cheered.
"Good night, Harriet." Denica hit her forehead.
Harriet did a couple of karate moves then gave Olivia the 'bring it on' sign, Olivia charged and threw the balls, Harriet did a few dance moves and dodged all four.
The Gophers all looked amazed; "Whoa." Nora dropped her book.
"Time out. Time out!" Curtis called.
"Damn, that girl got dodge, where did you learn to do that?" Denica complimented.
"Figure skating." Harriet answered, after accidentally spitting his backwash at Taylor's face, who was holding a bucket for Harriet to spit in.
"Harriet, that was awesome! But dodging isn't enough." Georgia said.
"She's right. To win this, you have to throw her out..." Curtis said.
"Which we all know you can't do." Denica interrupted.
"Or catch the ball." Curtis finished. "Can you do it?"
"Definitely."
"Awesome, now go catch that ball!" DJ patted her on the back hard, making Harriet spit at Taylor's face again.
The Killer Bass were cheering Harriet's name.
"Cowabunga!" Olivia yelled as she threw the ball, it slammed into Harriet's chest and pushed her back into the wall. But she had caught the ball and won the game for her team, the Killer Bass cheered.
"The Killer Bass win!" Kris cheered.
"It's impossible! WHYYYYYYYY?" Olivia screamed as she fell to her knees.
"Nice dodge, skater nerd!" Denica said.
"Gophers, what happened?" Kris sighed.
"What can I say, weak effort." Nora said.
"Shut up, Nora!" Glen got up and walked off.
"For once, I agree with him." Heath followed suit, and everyone behind him.
"Touchy." Nora noticed Olivia, Justice and Trisha are glaring at her. "What? I tell you, the team spirit here is severely lacking lately."
CONFESSIONAL - HARRIET
"I guess I'm kind of a new role model, now that I've won the dodgeball competition." Harriet said, eating a bag of potato chips. "People will probably all want my autograph when the show is over and stuff."
Kris stood next to the campfire holding a plate of marshmallows, "Campers, you've already place your votes and made your decision. One of you will be going home, and you can't come back, EVER. When you hear me call out your name, come pick up a marshmallow. Olivia, Glen, Cady, Trisha, Heath, Bert, Justice, LeShawn, Isaac. The final marshmallow goes to... Lenny."
"Woo-hoo, yeah!" Lenny cheered.
"You gotta be kidding me! Alright, see if I care! Good luck, because you just voted out the only one with any brains on this team." Nora yelled. Everyone threw their marshmallows at her.
"Yeah, well your brains didn't help us win this challenge, turkey!" LeShawn pointed out.
"Oh, whatever! I'm outta here." Nora rolled her eyes and walked off.
"Alright, so it wasn't the most dramatic campfire ceremony ever." Kris said to the camera. "But I still get paid. Haha, BONUS!"
Author's Notes:
In the original episode, Chris said "that'll smear her make-up" when Sadie got hit, and said "that's gonna leave a mark" when Geoff got it. For here, I switched the lines to the appropriate genders.
Evil-Blueberry stopped at chapter 4 in his fanfic Total Drama Island Gender Bent. I don't know if he intends to continue with his, but I'm going to continue with mine until the last episode. Feel free to comment any suggestions.
For the reviewer who wanted Justice voted out like in Evil-Blueberry's fanfic, sorry it's Nora like her male counterpart in the actual episode. I'm not exactly following Evil-Blueberry's fanfic, this is my own rendition. Starting with chapter 5, anything goes.
