Sookie's POV:
What should I say? I thought frantically as we stood on the dancefloor. People were still dancing but they seemed to have given us space.
"My name is Anna Kingsbury, I'm from Atlanta, Georgia," I said sounding like a beauty pageant contestant. I stood there smiling at Eric but I could tell from his furrowed eyebrows that he didn't believe me.
"You will tell me the truth," he said in a low stern voice. I could feel pressure coming from him, he was trying to glamour me!
"I am telling the truth," I replied trying to sound believable as I repeated what I had just said.
Suddenly Alexander came up to us. I was sort of thankful and relieved for the interruption.
"Eric Northman," he said looking somewhat disappointed. "I did not expect to see you here. My secretary mentioned that you were in the city."
I took a quick glance around and noticed that a lot of people in the club were staring at us. Alexander looked at me and back at Eric.
"I was not aware that you were acquainted with Miss Kingsbury."
"I am," Eric replied before I could say 'we weren't' to the king. He then wrapped his arm around my waist.
"She is mine," Eric said in a firm tone.
Okay, for Eric, this is technically his first time meeting me and he is already claiming ownership, I thought dryly.
"Ahhh, but she did not seem to be with anyone fifteen minutes ago," Alexander said smirking.
I could feel Eric tense up. "Her behaviour tonight will be punished and corrected," he responded.
"That is a pity…. for me," Alexander responded.
I had enough of these high-handed vampires. I was feeling very annoyed currently. "Can you please not talk about me as though I'm not here? I'm not some piece of land that can be owned or sold or traded."
Eric looked cross, that I talked back to them both, but Alexander smiled. "Ohhh, now I see why she is yours, Northman. She must be a handful."
"I came back here to extend an invitation to Miss Kingsbury for a party at my casino. I did not know that she was your woman, Northman. Since she belongs to you, I wish to include you in the invitation as well."
Eric didn't say nothing and I didn't want to upset him further by responding.
"Let us leave and let these fine people in my club enjoy the rest of their evening," Alexander said as he walked off with his entourage towards the exit. The patrons started to fill up the dance floor again.
Crap, I left my purse upstairs on the table! And I still haven't given him the letter! I knew I needed to get to that party.
"I'm sorry sugar," I said to Eric as I looked up at him innocently. "I think we should make an appearance at that party. We wouldn't want to disappoint Mr. Karlsson."
He didn't say anything. I had no idea what was going through Eric's mind. But one thing I knew, he didn't seem sure of me.
"I have to go retrieve my purse upstairs," I said to him.
"There's no need," he said.
A staff member handed me my purse. I hope that those other girls didn't go through it. I took a quick check and was relieved to see the letter still in it. I needed to be more careful with my belongings, I had the key to saving the vampires' future.
Eric gave me a hard look and guided me outside to a waiting limousine.
I was fidgeting in my seat beside him. I was nervous but also a little afraid. This Eric didn't know me. He didn't know how much we meant to each other and that he would kill and die for me, if necessary. This Eric was a vampire whose sole concern was himself and his welfare.
As I was pretending to look outside my window, Eric put his hand over mine. I looked down and up at him. The expression on his face softened a little.
"You seem to know me," he said.
"You remind me of someone I knew," I responded softly.
"What do you know of this world?" he asked.
I had to be careful of what my answer was. In this world, vampires and other supernatural were still urban myths. To him, I was just another human who didn't know nothing beyond humans. At least that's what I thought he must be thinking of me.
"That it's a dangerous world, especially for a woman. I travelled here from the U.S. just recently. I don't travel much nowadays. But Sweden is a land that is special to me," I said.
"So that's how you ended up at Karlsson's club? You wanted to experience what Sweden has to offer? Or the men in my country?" he seemed to be angry again.
I was starting to feel angry too. "What? I didn't go to that disco club for the sole purpose of meeting men. It really is none of your concern why I was at the club tonight. I don't even know you."
"I do not concur. You are my woman and I know that you are hiding something from me," he said in low tone.
We were coming up the casino. As the limo began to stop, Eric whispered into my ear, "You will tell me what you are hiding."
I gulped.
As soon as the car door opened and I got out as quickly as I could. Eric kept his hand around my waist firmly as though he didn't want me running away.
The coat check lady took my coat and we walked into the casino. The atmosphere was different from the discoteque. People were sitting at tables drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes. Rock music was playing in the back ground but not as loudly at the club. Humans and vampires were at gambling tables laughing and enjoying themselves. There were many beautiful women as well. It seemed as though many of them were there as entertainment for the men and not necessarily guests. Some gazed at Eric lustily as we walked through the casino.
We were led to a lounge area where the king and some other vampires were sitting. Each had a gorgeous human woman sitting beside them, clinging to their side. Alexander didn't have a companion beside him though. We sat down in a sofa in front of him.
"It's been a few years since I last saw you Northman. Tell me, what is your business in Stockholm?" Alexander asked.
"I followed my woman here," Eric responded. "She travelled here solo. She wanted to explore my homeland."
"The Northman 'followed' his woman? Can it be? Has the Northman been tamed?" he asked sarcastically.
"She… is unique," Eric replied cautiously.
He knows about me! I thought in a panic. I mean I knew Eric wasn't stupid. He would figure out that I was part Fae at some point. I knew he wasn't going to let me out of his sight now. Once he figured out he couldn't glamour me, he would probably just kill me because I was a threat to him. As much as I loved having him beside me, I couldn't help but feel a little upset that he could potentially ruin my mission. Or even worse, kill me.
"That she is, Northman," Alexander replied. "I sensed that as well."
"Please enjoy yourselves at my casino this evening. I have extended credit for you and Miss Kingsbury," he said. "If you will excuse me, I have business to attend to." We all rose from our chairs as the king got up and left.
We waited till the vampires and their women left. Eric led me to a table.
"Let us spend Karlsson's money," he said. He handed the chips to me and motioned me to put it on the roulette table. I was going to put just one chip down at a time to try and stall us, but he grabbed the rest of the chips from my hand and put it all down.
"38", the casino employee said.
I had put it on 24. Crap.
"You will come with me now," he said in a low tone. I could feel the pressure of his glamour so I obliged.
We left the casino and got into a waiting taxi.
We drove downtown near my hotel. But instead of stopping at my hotel, we continued down the street and stopped at another hotel. He paid the fare and led me through the lobby. We got into an elevator. As soon as the doors closed, he leaned in very closely. He started sniffing my hair and neck. His hands were all over my hips, waist, arms and my breasts. Despite the situation, I couldn't help but feel aroused.
The elevator stopped on the 6th floor and he led me to a room. He opened the door with a key and right away he was leaning in close to me again. This time it wasn't erotic.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" he snarled.
Whatever lust I was feeling was gone.
I tried my best not to be afraid but the fear was starting to grip me. I then remembered what I did the last time Eric frightened me.
"Eric," I whispered as I placed my hands on his chest. The same glow appeared as I showed him everything from my memories. I showed him when we first met, when he had amnesia and lived with me in my home. I showed him the bad as well. I showed him when Lochlan and Naeve tortured me and what it did to Eric. I showed him our life together. I didn't share memories of my life with Marius though.
After I was done, he stepped back from me, obviously stunned and confused. He stared at me, still trying to figure me out.
"How did you get here?" he somewhat stammered after a few minutes of silence.
"Time travel," I responded quickly.
"I have heard of tales that time travel was possible in different realms," he responded. "You are part Fae?"
"Yes," I answered.
"I gave you my blood in your time," he stated. "You were once my bonded or rather you will be my bonded. Your name is Sookie." He sounded as though he was trying to convince himself.
"Yes," I squeaked.
"I can feel your emotions. I can feel your love for me," he said.
"What? How is that possible?" I ask sounding surprised.
"I would think you would have the answer to that question since you are a time traveller," he remarked.
"You will yield to me," he said as he started fondling me again. I could feel the pressure coming from him. I couldn't believe it. I had basically shown and told him that I was from the future and he still just thought of only sex.
"I can't be glamoured," I said as I tried to take a step away from him. I was still upset with him that he scared me.
He stopped his actions and looked into my eyes.
"You are afraid and upset with me," he stated. "I have never given another human my blood. This is new to me, being able to sense another's emotions."
I tried to fix my hair. "I need to use the bathroom."
He told me where it was and I closed the door behind me. I didn't realize how badly I needed to pee. After I was done, I washed my hands. I needed to think of what I was going to do next. I didn't know if Eric was going to trust me or if he believed me. I didn't know if he was going to let me go. I didn't know anything!
When I exited the bathroom, Eric was putting a record in the record player. A slow song by Chicago started playing. I slowly walked towards him as I dropped my coat and purse on the chair nearest to me. He stood in front of me and took me in his arms. He held me close and we started slow dancing. I closed my eyes, clasped my hands around his neck and leaned against his chest. I calmed down and he seemed to calm down as well.
I looked up and into his eyes. For a brief moment, I could see my Eric. He leaned down and kissed me passionately.
Before I knew it, we were on the bed. My dress and his clothes were on the floor and all I had on was my underwear and strapless bra.
He was kissing me between my thighs. I started moaning as he began caressing my clit with his tongue. I didn't notice that he had taken my panty off. I had almost forgotten how good he was with his tongue down there. He made his way up to my breasts and unclasp my bra. He was gently fondling one nipple with his hand and sucking on the other.
"Perfekt min älskling," he said softly as he continued.
He made his way back up to my face and placed his hand on my cheek. He looked at me with a wide-eyed expression. It was like he was still trying to decide whether or not I was trustworthy. I put my hand on his cheek as well and sent him my love.
He responded by kissing me on the lips. I parted my legs more to let him in. He slowly pushed inside me. I gasped as I enjoyed the sensation of him. He started moving in and out of me faster and faster. I could feel my orgasm building up. I didn't want him to stop but at the same time I wanted him inside me even more.
"You can bite me!" I moaned out.
He bit into my neck and that sent us both over the edge.
As we rode out our orgasms together, he pulled out. Right away I missed the feeling of him inside me. This time he got behind me and entered from behind. I was sooo ready for round two.
We had made love at least five more times before I started getting tired. He held me in his arms as I drifted away to sleep.
Ring, ring, ring! I woke up to the sound of the phone ringing. I looked at the clock, it was ten in the morning. I answered the phone. It was a wakeup call and a reminder that check out time was drawing near. I hung up the phone and looked around the room. Eric was nowhere to be seen or found. I was alone.
I groaned into the pillow as I replayed everything that happened last night.
I couldn't believe that I was that easy, that I slept with 1970s Eric right away after just one meeting and a few looks from him. I guess he was still that irresistible.
I got up from the bed and went into the bathroom. I looked at my neck in the mirror and didn't notice any bite marks. He must've healed him with his blood. I thought about taking a shower as evidence of our copulation was still sticking between my thighs. I decided to wash it off with a warm wash cloth and take a shower in my own room.
I went back into the room to find my dress, heels and underwear. I put my clothes back on and started to look around the room for a note. I knew Eric wouldn't just leave without leaving a note. He didn't even leave a phone number. I looked everywhere but couldn't find anything.
Oh. My. God. I was a one-night stand. I sat on the bed. I knew my Eric would never use me and ditch me after he had me. This was the 70s Eric, I thought as I was trying to make myself feel better. Still, I couldn't help but feel a little hurt and rejected.
I put my coat on and grabbed my purse.
I walked through the lobby. The lady at the front desk stared at me in my obvious 'the night before' clothes on.
The walk of shame….I thought to myself as I walked the few blocks to my hotel.
I finally reached my room. I took my coat and heels off and collapsed on the bed. I didn't know what I was going to do now. I missed my opportunity last night to give the king his letter. I needed a new plan but I was still soooo tired that I fell asleep once more.
