o3o: Indeed, it took a long time to get here. In reality, I was hoping it would take ten chapters, but certain events had to happen for the stage to be set, which in turn made some chapters have filler to align the characters together. Time tables were also a contributing factor, with some characters needing to fill out their time. But now were are here, and nothing worth having ever comes easy. As for the blood, it will be shed… right now!
/*-*/
The wind blew cold that night. Fiona's blood seemed to lose all of its heat in that moment, and her breath hitched. The vixen stared up at the flying mechanical Chipmunk, who's cold emotionless eyes somehow could convey absolute hatred without changing.
Mecha Sally's eyes focused on Fiona specifically. Fiona was carrying Sonic, but the malice of an emotionless machine could somehow be felt, and there no question who was going through the killer-robot's circuits.
A rock soared through the air and Mecha Sally evaded with a small rocket-thrust to the side. She then turned back to face Fiona once again.
She was terrified. Her stomach clenched and her toes felt sweaty. Fiona's fur bristled up her legs, her back, her tail. Mecha-Sally's observations continued.
Fiona grabbed Sonic slowly, and carefully… pushed him towards Oscar, who grabbed the hedgeho-
Fiona immediately felt herself launched across the dry sand, rolling and scrapping along its coarse texture. No pierces or cuts, Mecha-Sally had waited to punch her in the chest. Fiona gasped. No broken ribs, but one hell of a bruise.
She staggered to her feet, and realized she had only rolled about ten feet away. Fiona balled her fists, "So… I guess you were really waiting to do that, huh?" Fiona put up a cocky smile, using her best deceptive faces.
Mecha Sally stood on the sand, "You bring only death, sorrow and pain, where ever you go. You are to be destroyed first." Mecha Sally lunged, but this time, Fiona had fear, adrenaline and focus to evade, ducking and sliding under Mecha Sally's lunging punch.
"Is that what Eggy wants, or you?" Fiona gasped, wondering why she was taunting a machine that shouldn't have emotions. Maybe it was because Fiona could feel emotions coming from Mecha-Sally, despite belief of the contrary.
Mecha Sally's arms ignited with the fiery blue swords, and she slashed behind her, Fiona having to quickly leap back to avoid the cut. Silence from her.
Fiona saw Sticks rushing over with her hand on her sword. Fiona thrust a hand out. She had Mecha-Sally distracted, and the mechanical Chipmunk likely didn't know about their recovery beacon. So Fiona could buy some time… and hope for a miracle.
Hey… God, I know you have a really good habit of coming in and giving me good advice. Now I could really use some!" Fiona mentally prayed. Sticks got the message, and ran back to the others, who quickly ran further back the way they came.
Fiona kept her eyes Focused on her old rival. The former Princess stood with her glowing blades drawn. Fiona slowly inched backwards, moving towards her comrades carefully. She still needed to be close by.
Mecha Sally marched towards Fiona, removing any slowness towards Fiona's retreat. She could fight, but Fiona had a feeling that this fight would be lost pretty quickly. Sally was better in open battles. Fiona wasn't ashamed to admit it, it was obvious.
Still, Fiona could put up some fights. She stopped retreating and immediately moved on the offensive, throwing a kick straight at Mecha-Sally, much to the machine's surprise based on the fact that her chest had four specks of flame shoot out as the robot launched herself backwards. That was new. But if it kept Sally away, it didn't matter.
Fiona lowered her leg, and stood, ready to defend herself.
"You are a scourge on all who know you. You have betrayed all you ever cared for. First your allies, then your home and lover. Now you betray your newest lover. You will never find peace." Mecha Sally stated clearly at Fiona, thrusting forward with stabs.
Fiona ducked right, before feeling a cut strike her right side. Sally was smart, Fiona had to remember that. She yelped and backed away, "I'm not the one betraying my homeland now."
Fiona immediately jumped back to avoid the stab at her neck. Hopefully that was a sign Fiona could get under that Metal hide of hers. Or it could just be a sign that she looked vulnerable when she was speaking.
Fiona had some distance between the two of them, and forced a mocking snort, "You fought so hard for your kingdom, and now you're going to help Eggman destroy it?"
Mecha Sally's feet lit up in a glowing haze, "You know nothing. You are a liar, and a traitor. Honor and dignity are not available to you." With that, the Mechanical princess launched herself at Fiona with her blades drawn.
Fiona dove to her right, and landed as Mecha Sally's blades dissipated from her arms as they cut into the dirt, "Yeah, I betrayed you all. I know you didn't have any grievances with that deal. You wanted it, I know." Fiona threw her weight into a kick which struck the robotic Princess's side, staggering her.
"But I let myself be stupid and selfish. Now I know better. You are just like I was, and you have a choice to make." Fiona challenged at the princess, panting as sweat dripped down the side of her face.
Fiona waited patiently, only to be pinned down in a flash, "I have no choice in any of my decisions."
Fiona felt claws dig into her shoulder, earning a scream as blood began to flow. Fiona raised her foot and kicked the metal Princess in the face, only to feel herself get jerked forward, before being released from the metal clutches.
Fiona slid back, whimpering a brief moment as she clutched her shoulders, which had a sharp, electric pains, "You have the energy to hate me so much but you don't have the energy to save everyone you care about?" Fiona mocked, with a snarl on her face.
She really was desperate, appealing to living side of a machine. Fiona knew that there was no coming back from roboticization. Still, She didn't want to die.
"You now fight for yourself. Even in your sacrifice, you are selfish, not fit to lecture me." Mecha Sally stated, launching herself at Fiona.
Fiona tried to duck, but Sally was too close, and the mechanical claws sent Fiona on her side. The Vixen picked herself up and jerked around as Mecha Sally flew in with blades.
"You only create disorder. Your arrival only brought me pain. Even your defection was nothing more than an attempt to undermine me." Mecha Sally stated, stabbing towards Fiona's legs.
Fiona stepped in and threw that hardest punch she could at the mechanical princess, sending Sally backwards and avoiding getting cut. She could not lose her legs, that much Fiona was aware of, "I didn't undermine anything. I came back, and you wanted me gone, because you needed me to be the enemy… for him."
Fiona struggled to say Sonic's name, but she had a feeling Sally wouldn't need it spelled out. Mecha Sally hovered, "You came to destroy my life. I could not hurt you before, but I am obligated to destroy you now."
Wind blew Fiona's way, and she rolled back, barely avoiding an upward cut. There wasn't a natural reason for the wind, but Fiona was used to the unnatural. Thanks, can you stick with me? Fiona silently prayed.
Mecha Sally lunged at Fiona, which Fiona responded to by stepping to the side and throwing her foot up, "I wanted my family back. I wanted everything. Yeah, I'm terrible, I'm a bitch," Fiona then grabbed Mecha Sally's leg, and felt a strange strength in her body as she spun and threw Her former princess across the sand, "But I can chose to be something else. You never wanted to see that, because I'm a thief who took your beloved away."
The Robot rose up and rushed down Fiona with her jet boots, flying into Fiona, sending the Vixen backwards.
Fiona fell back as Mecha-Sally raised her glowing blade over Fiona's head. Fiona rolled to the side as the blades struck the sand. Fiona then Grabbed Sally's legs, and slid out from under her.
She needed to breath. Fiona let it out, before opening her mouth once again, "That one struck a nerve. You wanted me to be the bad guy so you could be the hero, saving Sonic from the evil temptress. When in reality, you were a control freak!"
Mecha Sally spun around and threw a punch at Fiona. A punch, not a calculated slash or launch. Somehow, the machine was still mad. Fiona could win, she just had to-
Fiona felt a kick into her chest
"You are a vile deceiver. You have never held a sincere though in your body, only the desire for power. Now you fight for my kingdom, only while it serves you!"
Fiona ducked down to avoid a cut as Sally jabbed at her, before a metal foot kicked her in the face.
Fiona staggered back, hearing a ringing in her ears.
"You are nothing more than plague, taking from anyone who will give you a place. You only fight for yourself, you are no hero." Mecha Sally stated, grabbing Fiona, and slamming her into the obsidian stone next to her.
Fiona felt her head get heavy. She was tired, and a nap didn't sound too bad in that moment.
Mecha Sally's grip on Fiona lightened up, only for a moment. Fiona shot back to life, and kicked the robotic princess in the stomach area, sending her back.
Fiona staggered and caught her breath. She was low on sleep, fighting a fierce foe, and she didn't have a weapon. Fiona did not see an easy out for this fight.
She decided to start running towards her group, heading towards the forest, ready to flee. Instead, she was immediately tackled by the Metallic princess.
Fiona felt her claws rake across her back, earning a yelp from the vixen as Mecha Sally stated, "Look at all you have done, destroyed and torn apart. You will not be missed when I am done with you. "
Fiona grabbed a rock and threw it at the mechanical Princess. It struck her in the head, knocking Sally backwards just enough to loosen her grip. Fiona pulled out and kicked Sally in the face once again.
Things were not working the way she wanted them to, and she needed a breakthrough as soon as possible, "It almost sounds like you hate me. I knew you hated me before, but I didn't think you could hate me now as a machine. I though Eggman removed that."
Fiona couldn't really be cocky, but she could hope for a logic error to confuse the Princess. Sally was smart, and powerful. She was dangerous.
Mecha Sally went silent, but still remained focused on Fiona. Fiona backed away slowly, feeling her shoulders flair up in pain.
"You do still hate me, don't you?" Fiona challenged. There were implications if her personal grudges could remain. Implications Fiona needed to exploit… by bringing out her more manipulative side.
Mecha Sally flew straight at Fiona. Fiona ducked under the blow, and kicked Mecha Sally's back, sending her sprawling across the ground.
"You have to still hate me to try this hard. Face it, you want this. You want to kill me. Because you think I have Sonic's heart, don't you." Fiona taunted, panting a bit. Fiona came to realize just how critical the bomber was to her survival plan. If they didn't come out tonight, she was dead.
Mecha Sally spun around with a violent slash, trying to cut down Fiona.
Fiona was fast enough to avoid the attack, "Well you can put to bed! I threw myself at him. I did my best to heal and steal him. Rest assured, He was yours!"
Mecha Sally's jab, stopped, just for a moment,
Fiona panted, "You still hate me, don't-"
"I do!" Mecha Sally stated, "You are a plague on all of our lives. You destroyed all we cared for. Now you are welcomed back, without grief or anger." Mecha Sally's blades burned hotter and she began to slash.
Fiona ducked down, before shooting her leg straight up and kicked the robotic princess in the face, "You're bitter from the fact that you lost to me once!"
She thought her kick would have caught Sally off guard. Instead, metal claws wrapped around her leg. She still kicked, but Fiona was thoroughly in Mecha Sally's grasp, helpless as she was pulled in and cut across the side.
Fiona staggered backwards, swaying back and forth as her screams went deaf. Fiona felt the ground calling to her.
Get up! This is not your end! A voice shouted in Fiona's mind. Stay firm, and hold on!
You can do this! You are blessed! Another voice proclaimed in Fiona's head. It was strangely… beautiful…. And inspiring.
Fiona spread her legs out and caught herself, "I'm not done!" She gasped, daring to glance down. Her wounds… they hurt, but she could live. She just needed to keep on fighting…
Suddenly, the air rippled as a sword landed in the sand. It was clearly a Northern blade… but the only one who could have given her that was-
Fiona turned her head and Saw Stick's empty hand, "Kick her ass!" Sticks shouted, throwing up a fist in Salute.
Mecha Sally flew straight at her, burning blades drawn. Fiona should have evaded, that would be the smart decision. But something will her to not be so clever.
Fiona lunged for the northern sword's handle. It was heavy for Sticks, so it should have been impossible for her. Fiona, however, felt a strange strength push her forward, an unexplainable burst of power within. The Blade rose with great effort, and Fiona blocked the two strikes coming in, being knocked backwards in the process.
"You're right, I've caused you a lot a pain, and grief. But That's why I have to make things right. I can't die here." Fiona pushed Mecha Sally backwards, and swung her blade at the burning swords that the robotic princess possessed, "This is not where my story ends!"
She pushed the machine backwards, causing Mecha Sally to stabilize her self by spreading her mechanical legs.
Fiona found her second wind, and pulled up the sword, holding it so the blade edge was sticking out. How it felt lighter, she did not know, nor really care.
Mecha Sally stood across from her, the burning blades casting a new light of intimidation. Fiona kept her guard up, breathing heavily.
Mecha Sally launched herself at Fiona. She had only a second to react, and Fiona made the most of it by swinging the blade upward, parring Sally's blades, before thrusting the handle into Mecha Sally's chest, sending her back.
Mecha Sally seemed to open flaps from her back, as a light dent appeared on her chest. Fiona panted as the robotic princess seemed perfectly fine.
The sword can hurt her… It can kill her. Fiona's mind spoke clearly to her, in a horrifying and honest way. No, no, I don't want that… even if she's a pain in my hind…
"You are a villain, in every story. You now think of killing me, because you want him for yourself." Mecha Sally stated, walking forward in a seemingly confident stance.
Fiona shook herself to banish the thoughts, but it wasn't entire successful. It would make everyone's life easier for this mission, and her being out of the way would just be a nice bonus…
Fiona barely had time to lean back as a burning sword shot for her face. The blade cut across her cheek. Sally was a problem right now. She should have been destroyed.
Fiona staggered backwards, trying to gather her wits. These weren't her words, but they were. She was good now, right? So why was she-
Fiona slid to her right to avoid a blade only to be punched in the stomach by a metal fist, "You imagine it would make your life easier, Because you are still the same girl who betrayed us all."
Fiona's head rested on Mecha Sally's, almost like a friend as she felt nauseous. Mecha Sally grabbed her shoulders and pushed Fiona back, the sword being dragged in tow.
Fiona stabilized herself. She needed to clear her head. Which meant she had to give up those thoughts… or accept them.
"Yeah… It would be amazing. You are such a pain in the ass to deal with. I honestly do not like you for almost anything." Fiona groaned, panting as she stood tall, "But I am always going to have to respect your love for your team, and followers."
Mecha Sally lunged at Fiona, who growled and twisted her blade to deflect Sally's strike, before bringing her knee up to the robot, sending her back.
Fiona was holding her own… in a losing battle. Fiona stood stepped back, and growled, "But I don't want to hurt you, because it would break him."
"When have you ever cared about anyone other than yourself? You only wish to use him for your own gains." Mecha Sally's monotonous voice somehow conveyed more hatred through it. Fiona would have focused more on it if not for the fact that she swung more strikes at Fiona, who struggled to keep each attack at bay.
Fiona blocked a full force strike, which slammed her back against the obsidian stone. Fiona felt the back of her head jerk and slam into the rock. As she fell, she could see the glowing green light from a disk surrounding her teammates. A balloon seemed to rise through the sky. Fiona could hear a whistling sound as She staggered to her feet.
Mecha Sally was ready to go for the kill, and raised her blades. Fiona had to act quickly. Another divine wind gave Fiona the energy to keep fighting, and she ducked under the robotic princess, stepping back towards the forest.
Fiona steadied her blade as Mecha Sally slowly turned around. Suddenly, the area behind Mecha Sally exploded in two Violent explosions, with fire spouting into the air. The ground rumbled and shook with energy as the sound of the explosion rippled across the ground.
Fiona staggered back, slamming her sword into the ground as she stabilized herself. Fiona then stood up, and held her blade up, "You can throw every strike you want at me, because I won't stop fighting back. I have someone I love, and I want to protect. And you want to help him too." Fiona affirmed, spreading her legs to stand firmly at the robotic princess.
Mecha Sally pushed her self to her feet, standing straight up in a mechanical way. Mecha Sally's face was dented severely, but still somewhat recognizable in an ugly, twisted sort of way, "You are motivated only by your love for him. You believe he will choose you after you rescue him. You are still selfish, and vile in your heart."
That… struck closer than Fiona was hoping for. Unfortunately, Mecha Sally noticed, and lunged at her. Fiona swung and blocked a strike going for her neck, only to find Sally's other hand gripping her throat and raising her up.
Fiona kicked while still keeping a tight grip on the sword as claws began to squeeze her neck. Fiona had a few moments to act. Mecha Sally's sword began to burn in her other hand, seeming so menacing.
Fiona needed these next words to count, "We aren't different. We're both selfish, too-clever-for-our-own-good, traitors. We have a lot in common." Fiona stated, and Mecha Sally seemed to give her time to speak, "Which I why I know you don't want to win this."
Mecha Sally stated firmly, "You cannot appeal to my emotions. I am bound by my programming to engage enemies."
"Really, " Fiona laughed, feeling blood drip out of the corner of her mouth, "Because you waited for Sonic to be safe before you attacked me. I know you are there, and that we have one thing that we can both agree on."
Mecha Sally continued to glare at Fiona, raising the blade to strike.
Fiona had to finish quickly, " We both Love Sonic more than we love ourselves."
Mecha Sally stopped her blade. It shook in her arm as she stood there, in a strange struggle that temporarily saved Fiona's life. One she would absolutely take.
"I am bound by my programming to engage enemies." Mecha Sally stated in a monotonous tone, but it carried a different kind of weight to it. Somehow, in the monotonous tone, She sounded like she was hinting at something. The ground rumbled and shook a little.
Fiona was quick to catch on. She had to attack them if possible. She needed to be disabled, and was asking Fiona to do it. Fiona gripped the blade carefully, "For what it's worth, I'm going to feel bad about this." Fiona grumbled, before thrusting the sword down into Mecha Sally's foot, and swinging her legs to kick the robotic princess.
The sword punctured through the metal in Sally's foot, and Fiona was free. She ran over to the recovery beacon, carrying the sword with her in a strange sense of thinking about Sticks instead of herself.
Fiona tossed the blade to the badger as soon as she could and jumped on the platform, pushing Sonic towards the center pole, setting herself on the outside as the metal coil began to tighten.
"Everyone on, NOW!" Fiona commanded, and the team didn't bother waiting for a response or approval. They jumped on and grabbed the center pole.
Mecha Sally's jet engine came online, but it sputtered out as her right foot had been cut, and she couldn't fly. Fiona suddenly felt a jerk, and the team was airborne, climbing up to the sky.
Fiona got a good look at the ground below. The ground had cracked below, with the explosive crater not even visible. The ground had collapsed underneath the blast, with the base of the building sticking out of the smokey rubble.
The devasting bomb had probably killed everyone with within the base. Even as the platform swayed, Fiona had no trouble seeing the devastated. Sonic's body wheezed and strained as he pressed against the metal pole.
He would have been in that rubble. There was nothing really left of the area. The fading light of Mecha Sally was the only surviving light from the blast. Maybe Fiona imagined it, but there was a look of respect in her robotic eyes as they flew away. The metal pipe jerked upwards, pausing occasionally, before jerking again.
They was a cycle as they drifted up towards the blue underbelly of the large plane. There was a large hook that held the balloon, as it twisted, tightening the metal chord. The wind was harsh, and only served to intensify Fiona's pains until the metal pole got to the top of the hook.
Two mobian's a goat and a cow rushed forward, and grabbed the metal pole, raising it up past the bottom of the plane as the Bombay doors began to close.
When the wind went deafened, Fiona relaxed her grip on the pole, and pulled Sonic towards the solid metal flooring. When She stepped, the two collapsed, panting as Fiona's pain and exhaustion finally kicked in.
"Is that… no way." The goat mumbled as the cow ran to the front of the plane. Fiona felt Sticks lay down next to her, and push her back to Fiona's. Oscar and Renault both collapsed in the back, and closed their eyes.
Fiona felt the hedgehog breathing against her chest, serving as an anchor. Her eyes began to go blurry as the plane jerked slightly before righting itself. She was in pain, she was tired, but she had a strange feeling of satisfaction, and regret.
Part of her wondered what life would have been like if Robotnik never happened. The princess, even while being mind controlled and forced to do the bidding of her enemies, was still stupidly noble and righteous till the end. Fiona should have mocked the idea.
She didn't have the energy, and as her eyes began to close, she saw a yellow fox rushing towards her, and the blue hedgehog who had grown up with him.
/*-*/
"FORWARD! NO STOPPING!" Gewis shouted, climbing up the ladder and running out over the trench, his feet rushing across the grassy ground, He was followed by a stretch of men who staggered up the ladders behind him.
Lasers flew over head, and struck the ground as Gewis continued to stretch himself too far. Johan growled as they staggered, only to slow down as the lasers struck their feet. The men froze.
Gewis turned around, and sighed. Johan came down from the hill that he was watching from. The men groaned, sharing Gewis's displeasure.
The Fox was easily angered by the men's lack of courage in a drill, "Come on! Get your heads in the game! I Get it, it's scarry, but it hurts more if you stop running, trust me!" Gewis pleaded with his men.
These were fresh bloods, the pioneers of the army. Inexperienced men who had only fought on the walls of the capitol. They still stank of fear and weakness, not yet hardened by any true challenge.
But Johan stayed back. Gewis would need to learn to inspire his men, if he was to take his role in the new world.
The soldiers whined and cried like children, complain about "hurt" and "dying", as though they had missed the point of Johan's proclamation. Life was meaningless if Death held it in his craven grasps.
"We're going again!" Gewis shouted, the sun just rising in the distance. His men groaned once again, but they returned to the trenches.
Then, Gewis held up his hand, and gave a different order. The boy- man had learned something. Johan watched from the distance, as Gewis climbed up the ladder, and his men did the same. They climbed up to the top rung, then descended down. Back up, then back down.
He was drilling them on how to rise over the trench. Johan would be ashamed to confess he had not thought of such a simple yet effective tool.
"Fifty times! We're doing this until we get it right!" Gewis shouted and Johan continued to watch.
In the distance, Johan's eyes were drawn to the horse in Lanolin's presence, his posture and form indicating confidence. Or perhaps not, as Johan's eyes were not able to fully make out his form, but it seemed most likely.
The horse was arrogant and his approaches were neither hidden nor pleasant.
Johan returned his gaze to the men and a few young women who were climbing up the ladders, before descending back down. They learning, and becoming stronger, that would be necessary for the coming battle.
His gaze focused as a familiar voice spoke to his side, "I think our bomber was successful." Ezra spoke clearly to Johan.
Johan turned his head down to her, "Is its purpose not to drop bombs?"
"I mean I think we hit something important. The communication tables have gone silent, and I was only able to listen into a few outposts." Ezra explained, finally showing Johan the importance of her visit.
Johan nodded, before looking back at the men. He would have liked more time to drill out the civility of the weak men, but wishes were only fantasy. Still, he could give them a few hours.
Suddenly, they stopped climbing, and Johan raised his head to listen to the sound of a large plane flying lower to the ground.
Johan saw the large bomber, returning back from its trip, its left engine smoking with a light grey fume. Still, it had enough speed to make it to the runway, which had been extended over the lake.
Johan prowled forward, along with his men to go and watch the plane land. The wheels descended from the wings as the plane dipped lower and lower. Johan ran faster, using his care to push his limits, going faster.
He began to gain on the plane as its rudder swayed side to side, burning speed as the front wheels landed on the metal runway, sliding forward. The rear wheels also landed, but snapped down, causing the plane to grind along the runway. Johan wrapped his claws around the tail and pulled backwards.
The large bomber weighed much, but Johan's pride and strength denied him the option of surrender. He held his ground and Greif finally came to halt. The engines finally turned off, causing the propellers to stop spinning.
Then the door on the side opened up, and the various crew stepped out.
"Why were you so slow to land?" Johan growled, looking at the bomber which had almost killed them all.
"Sorry, our pilot was distracted, leaving it us!" A sheep complained, gesturing back to the insides. The yellow fox came out, looking tired, but a smile still on his face. He was happy, for some reason which avoided Johan.
Then, the other forms emerged from the plane. His badger captain, the pig soldier. The two had returned with little damage to their bodies.
Johan threw his hands up, "I thank God the highest for your return." Johan praised, giving a nod to the badger.
She replied with a nod of her own, "It was a fruitful, in many ways I could not have expected. The fox is a seer." The badger replied, bowing her head once more.
Johan's joy caught itself. A seer? There were pagans in his Kingdom which still called on seers, and their visions were not to be taken lightly. They were able to see the will heaven.
Still, Johan had seen more than one so called "seers" who had simple sough position in Johan's court.
Johan's gaze returned to the door. The darkness produced shapes. Johan saw his bear emerge from the darkness, walking off the plane, exhausted, "I am happy for your safe return."
He walked off, and from the shadows, emerged another figure. Four figures.
Two clerks were carrying two forms off the plane. An injured, beautiful vixen who had cuts all along her body. The fox had served Johan well. She had earned some time to rest. Johan's gaze then went to the second figure.
His heart leaped at the sight of blue quills coming from the darkness. Sonic the Garden Defender was carried out, his chest lightly breathing as a sign of his life. Johan felt his heart leap, the Garden Defender stood before him. He bounded around the body of the weakened Garden Defender as he was carried off.
The Garden Defender was alive, which meant Johan could fight him later. He would heal, and they would battle once again. Johan was excited like that of a child. The boy was alive!
Johan's joy was interrupted as the Garden Defender was carried off with the boy prince approaching with a happy look on his face, "You just got called back to the capitol. My father wants a word with you."
"It can wait." Johan growled, realizing how much time was being wasted.
"No, it can't. He needs to speak with you immediately." The boy Prince demanded.
Johan turned back to the prince, and growled. His armies were ready to march out. They could at least gather supplies before the attack began…

Alright, two more chapters before another break assuming I don't get the offensive written out before then. And by break, I mean I'm still writing, just trying to get the chapters set up so I can release them together.
So, Sonic is back in the hands of the Freedom Fighters, if they can even be truly called that anymore. Fiona has had her share of scrapes and bruises, and has certainly earned a shower, some wine, and a few days off. Meanwhile, Johan has been called back to the capitol, most certainly with the help of a certain meddling prince.
You all know the drill with reviews by now, and if you don't… why are you starting this far into the story? Actually, if you are starting this far in the story, leave a review. It can be theories, what you loved, what you think I need to improve on, or you can private message me. It'll stay anonymous if I have to address a private message. Anyway, if you are starting here, let me know, and I might do a recap chapter if we have a lot of people joining in.
ALSO, Fanfiction is broken… yeah, who knew? Alerts don't come in via email, and views don't show. I'M BLIND! Oh well. That's all.
