Ch 9: Reaching the Safe Zone.
Back on Earth, Fenton is seen with his mother, Gandra, Gyro, Boyd, Lena, Violet, and Manny still trying to reach their way to safety.
Along the way their Gizmo tech ran out of juice and had no choice but to place them in bags. Boyd also ran out of juice but Gyro chose to carry him.
Lena: How far do we have till we reach this safehouse?
She asked.
Violet: Yeah, because it feels like we have been walking forever.
Fenton: Hopefully we are not too far.
Gyro: Well this place better have some power so we can help charge up our suits and Boyd as well.
Officer Cabrera: We need to go another way.
She pointed out.
Gandra: How come?
She asked her.
Officer Cabera: Look! She said as she pointed to a nearby newly formed HQ by the empire much to their concern.
Gyro: Enemy HQ station!
Lena: What are we going to do!
Manny: Maybe We can ambush them and take control.
Fenton: We can't risk it because if we do then they can call for backup.
Gandra: Yeah, it's best if we go another way but quietly.
She said in agreement.
Violet: But how?
She asked.
Officer Cabera: I think I know how. Just follow ,e.
She said as the group followed her around without attracting any attention.
Once they confirmed the coast was clear they continued their journey.
From a distance not too far away, Fethry, Gladstone, Selene, Storkules, Jose, Panchito, Gibbous, and Zenith are seen hiding behind some nearby bushes while a group of troopers and machines were walking nearby. They took a moment for them to let the group pass before making a run for it.
Gladstone: Looks like we timed that just right.
Zenith: How far do we still have to go because we can't keep running like this forever.
Gibbous: Hopefully we are getting close.
Storkules: I'm still worried that we are walking into a trap.
Selene: Well I'm thinking about the same thing as you, Stork.
Gladstone then noticed that something was wrong up ahead.
Gladstone: Wait, hold up!
He said as the group stopped.
Jose: Why did we stop?
Panchito: Is there any problemo?
They asked him.
Gladstone: I think another group is coming. I think it's best if we go this way.
He said as he pointed left as the group followed him.
Selene: You sure you know where you are going?
She asked.
Gladstone: Well with my luck I can do a lot of things.
Fethry: Well lead the way then!
The group continued to follow Gladstone until they encountered a small group of troopers that started to fire at them.
Storkules: Ahhh! Their shooting.
Gibbous: We need to go another way now!
Gladstone: Ok, This way!
He said pointing towards another direction with the small squad following them.
After running and avoiding being shot for a few moments they managed to hide underneath a steep cliff.
The troops also took a moment to look around before deciding to look for them elsewhere.
Jose: It appears that things have gone quiet.
Zenith: Are they gone?
She asked.
Selene: One of us should go and check.
Gladstone: I will go check.
He said as he emerged from his hideout to look around for a moment.
Gladstone: Ok, we're clear.
He said as his group continued to move forward.
Not long after, Gladstones group would run into Fentons group.
Fethry: Oh hey, you guys are from the money bin lab right?
He asked them in excitement.
Gandra: Shhh! Are you trying to get us caught?
She asked in caution.
Gyro: Well yes we are.
Zenith: Well I'm relieved that we were not the only ones left.
Officer Cabrera: I would also admit that I feel the same way.
Jose: Do you guy's know if Donald, Senor Mcduck, and the rest of their familia made it out?
He asked as Fentons group looked at each other with concerned faces.
Lena: Unfortunately no.
Gyro: Yeah I witnessed the entire family getting captured by these off world creeps.
He said as Gladstone's group was shocked to hear the news.
Gladstone: Well that is not what we wanted to hear.
Panchito: Just when I think it can't get any worse.
Storkules: Did you know where they took them?
He asked.
Violet: From what we know they could be anywhere in space at this point.
Selene: So I'm guessing that the best solution is to go into space then?
She asked.
Gibbous: So we can also get lost!
Fenton Well if that's our best at finding Mr Mcduck and his family then yes.
Fethry: But how are we going to get a ship?
He asked.
Violet: That's a good question.
Manny: Maybe when we reach the safehouse we can find one.
Lena: Well maybe we should think of getting to safety first.
Gladstone: Magic girl is right, we should keep moving.
He said as the two groups continued on moving.
Not long after the now formed group managed to reach an old underground bunker.
Lena: So I'm guessing that this is it?
She asked.
Gladstone: I guess that is what I'm assuming about Magic girl.
Gyro: It looks like this thing has not been used in ages.
Fenton: We can at least see what's inside then until we can open this.
He said struggling to open the underground entry.
Storkules: Allow me to do the honors.
He said as Storkules used his strength to open the bunker's door.
Jose: Well done! Now we need to get in fast.
He said as the group entered the bunker one by one.
Zenith: We might be the first ones here.
Fethry: It looks dark in here.
Officer Cabrera: Stay frosty, it could still be a trap.
Fenton then felt something come across his neck and started to grip him hard.
?: Don't you move a muscle intruder!
Fenton recognized who it was.
Fenton: Drake, is that you?
He asked, struggling to keep his breath.
Drake: Fenton! Oh thank goodness!
He said as he let go of Fenton revealing himself still wearing his Darkwing uniform.
Drake: We were starting to get more worried that there was nobody else left out there.
Violet: WWhat do you mean by we?
Panchito: You mean there are others here.
They asked him.
Drake: Yes they are others who survived that are here.
Gibbous: Well that's great to hear.
Drake: I can show you guys where they are. It's starting to get late and you all seem to be hungry and tired. Follow me.
He told them as the group followed Drake deeper into the bunker as the sun set down outside.
