Chapter 11: Escaping Tatooine.
Outside the bar Ben managed to guide Luke, Scrooge, Donald, Della, Daisy, Launchpad, and Penumbra to the exit of the bar. Ben took a moment to make sure the exit was clear.
Ben: Ok everyone, come on the coast should be clear out here.
He said as the rest of the group slowly walked outside of the bar and when they all got outside and saw no troopers were present they all took a moment to sigh in relief.
Luke: Thanks for getting us out of there, Ben. We appreciate it.
Ben: That is no problem.
Daisy: Well that was really a close one I really thought we were going to get caught.
Donald: Yeah, same with me.
Scrooge then noticed Della was feeling very worried.
Scrooge: Della it's going to be ok.
Della: How do you know that?
She asked before continuing.
Della: My other two boys are now lost somewhere in this town or worse they also might be captured as well and there's nothing I can do to already took one of my boy's from me. I can't let them get their hands on my other two.
She said as she was about to cry before Donald intervened.
Donald: It's going to be ok Della, I know your boys really well and I know that they are prepared for these types of situations and could be somewhere safe. Also they should be with Beakley and Duckworth which should make things even better.
Della: Well I really hope you are right, Donald.
Donald: Trust me, I know I am.
He said as he gave his sister a huge to make her feel a bit better.
Launchpad: So I guess since those snowmen people are after us I'm guessing that time is currently not on our side to get us off this planet.
Daisy: Yeah we really need to think of a plan quickly.
Penumbra: Well how the heck are we going to get the money to give to that pilot guy to get us out here.
Scrooge: Well I think I have some money to help.
Donald: Well I don't think that these people would recognize it as their version of money though.
What if they think it's some type of food?
He asked his uncle.
Scrooge: Well that's a really good point. I'm not sure how else we could get that money since I'm a really long distance away from my bin.
Ben then had an idea.
Ben: Luke?
He asked for Luke's attention.
Luke: Yeah?
He asked in response.
Ben: You'll need to sell your speeder.
Luke: That's ok. I'm never coming back to this planet again.
Della: Well we really need to hurry then.
The group then quietly started to make their way back to get Luke's speeder.
Back on the Death Star, Vader is seen inside the control room for another meeting with several officers and an Empire Admiral named Tarkin.
Vader: Their resistance to the mind probe is considerable. It will be some time before we can extract any information from either of them.
He said as another Officer came in and interrupted the meeting.
Officer: The final check out is complete. All systems are operational. What course shall we set?
He asked.
Tarkin: Perhaps the princess along with the two kids would respond to an alternative form of persuasion.
Vader: What do you mean?
He asked Tarkin.
Tarkin: I think it is time we demonstrate the full power of the station.
Tarkin then places his attention to a nearby trooper before continuing.
Tarkin: Set your course for PrincessLeia's home planet Alderaan.
He told the trooper.
Trooper: With pleasure.
The trooper said obeying the order.
Back on Tatooine Ben, Luke, Scrooge, Donald, Della, Daisy, Launchpad, and Penumbra are seen standing next to a nearby Speeder lot waiting for Luke who is inside.
Della: Uhhhh, this is taking forever! We would have probably already found everyone else by now if we weren't moving this slow.
Della said as she walked back and forth impatiently.
Ben: You know that walking back and forth like that isn't really helping anything.
Penumbra: Yeah Della, and we haven't even been standing here for that long. We've only been here for at least fifteen minutes.
Della: Well it just feels like it's forever.
Donald: Just wait for a little longer Della, I think Luke might almost be done with the speeder negotiations and then we can find the boys.
Scrooge: Plus like we said before it's not the first time they are in trap related situations.
Launchpad: Yeah, we are sure that everything is going to be ok.
Daisy: Well we also need to find the girls and droids as well.
Donald: Oh right the two droids! I nearly forgot about them.
As they waited the group noticed Huey, Louie, May, June, Beakley, and Duckworth approaching them.
When Della noticed Huey and Louie, she rushed towards them and gave both of them a tight hug.
Della: Oh thank goodness you two are safe, I was getting really worried about you two.
Louie: Well sorry we had you worried.
Huey: Yeah, but you are really squeezing a little too hard.
Della: Oh sorry.
She said as Della let go of her sons.
Scrooge: Where in the blazes have you all been?
He asked.
Beakley: Well, all the kids needed to go to the restroom so Duckworth and I went to find a nearby restroom but it was more difficult to find on a different planet so we decided to go to a quiet alley.
May: It was not a very fun experience.
June: Especially with what little privacy we had.
Daisy: Well what about the two droids?
She asked.
Duckworth: Well we told them to stay at the bar since we thought it wouldn't take long and when we got back we noticed the trooper squad at the bar so that ended up changing our plans.
Beakley: Fortunately the two droids were not captured. Hopefully we can find them before they do.
Luke then exited the Speeder lot.
Scrooge: So, how did it go?
He asked.
Luke: He says it's the best he can do. Since the XP-38 came out they're just not in demand.
Ben: It will be enough.
Luke then noticed Beckley and Duckworth along with the kids.
Luke: Where did you guys come from? And where are the droids?
He asked with little concern.
Duckworth: It's kind of a long story.
Luke: Well we don't have long because once we find the droids and hopefully the Empire did not catch them yet then we can get out of here.
The group then started to walk away from the Speeder lot.
Ben: If the ships are as fast as he's boasting, we ought to do it well.
Donald: I'm still getting this feeling that we should not trust this pilot guy.
Della: Same with me.
She said in agreement.
Scrooge: Well I really hope that this pilot along with furry teethed friend don't just stab us in the back and turn us in.
As the group continued to walk across town they failed to notice that a very dark clad like creature was secretly following them and watching their every move as the group entered Docking Bay 94.
When the group entered the docking room they noticed that the ship they were going to ride in was actually a large, round, beaten up, dilapidated, and completely junkie.
The group can only stare at the ship in complete surprise.
Luke: What a piece of junk.
Louie: Is that seriously the ship we have to ride in?
He asked.
Huey: It seems like it.
Donald: I should have known that this guy was going to rip us off.
Scrooge: Indeed Nephew, even I would not afford anything that is this crappy looking.
Della: Well I mean it can't be all bad because I was able to return back to earth on a piece of junk rocket ship which took me over ten years to complete.
The boarding ramp then opens with Han Solo making his exit.
Han: She'll make point five beyond the speed of light, She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, everyone. I've added some special modifications.
He told them before he continued.
We're a little rushed, so if you'll hurry aboard we'll get out of here.
He said as the group entered the ship.
Louie: Well it seems like the inside of the ship seems a little better than the outside.
Della: Yeah it does. There's even a little break room table.
Della said as she pointed at the table.
Han: You guys can take a nice look around but don't touch anything without mine or chewies approval.
He said as the group continued to look around the whole inside of the ship.
Ben and Luke then approached Scrooge.
Luke: So Ben and I are going to look for the 3PO and R2 really quick. So if this guy and his hairy friend asks where we are, you and your family tell them that we forgot something.
Scrooge: Ok, are you sure you two don't need any help or anything? Especially with the Empire people looking for us.
He asks them.
Ben: I think we would be ok but thanks for the offer. We promised it would be quick.
Scrooge: Well ok, don't take too long though.
Luke: We won't.
Luke said as he and Ben left the ship.
When Chewbacca settles into the pilot's chair and starts the engines, Della and Launchpad enter the pilots room.
Launchpad: So I'm guessing that this must be the pilots room?
He asked.
Della: Yeah it looks like it.
Launchpad: Seems like this pilots room is far better then the Cloud slayer.
Della: Are you kidding, No pilots room would ever beat the pilots room on my plane.
She said Chebacca notices them and howls at them.
Della: Oh is there a problem, hairy creature? Did you not want us in here?
She asked as Han entered the room.
Han: That is right. The only ones allowed in here are me and Chewie.
Della: What? Are you serious?
She asked him in surprise.
Launchpad: But Della and I are also pilots too Mr H.
Han: I don't care if both of you are pilots or not, only me and Cheweie control the ship. Now out!
He told them.
Della: But that is not completely fair at all! Would it even kill you or...! What's the name of your friend again?
She asked as Han rolled his eyes in annoyance.
Han: Chewbacca but you can call him Cheweie.
Della: Ok, right. But would it even kill you and Chewie if we can just sit and watch?
She as Han took a moment to think about it.
Han: Ok fine you and your hunky dimbo friend can sit and watch but like I said before you are not allowed to touch anything even in here.
Launchpad: Well I guess that's fair.
Della: Well it's better than being kicked out then.
Han: Chewie, keep an eye on both of them please?
He asked as Cheweie howled in response as Han got up to leave the pilots room.
A short time later Luke and Ben managed to return to the ship with 3PO and R2 with Han waiting for them.
Han: About the time both of you came back, I was almost about two leave you two here.
Luke: Well we just needed to get our droids.
Han: You mean these two junkies here?
He asked as he pointed at 3PO and R2.
3PO: Hello, sir.
3PO said waving to Han.
Just then a squad of stormtroopers came nearby and rushed up to the dark creature from before.
Squad Leader: Which way?
The squad leader asked the creature as it pointed down the docking bay entry.
Squad Leader: All right, men, Load your weapons!
He said as the squad entered the docking bay and noticed Han's ship was starting to get into the air.
Squad Leader: Stop that ship! Blast them!
He said as the troopers started to fire at the ship.
Han: Chewie, get use out of here!
He told Chewie as he got to work on the controllers while Della and Launchpad strapped themselves up.
Scrooge: Everybody strap on and hold tight!
He said as everyone took a moment to strap themselves up.
3PO: Oh, my I'd forgotten how much I hate space travel.
Another group of stormtroopers hear an alarm and look to the sky as Hans' starship rises above the sky and quickly disappears as it makes its exit from Tatoinne but as it did, two imperial ships followed suit.
When they managed to exit the planet's atmosphere, Han managed to sit down on the pilot's chair and when he did, Chewbacca pointed to something on the radar scope.
Han: It looks like an Imperial cruiser. Our passengers must be hotter than I thought. Try and hold them off. Angle the deflector shield while I make the calculations from the jump to lightspeed.
Della: Crap! This is not good! I'm really concerned.
She whispered to Launchpad.
Launchpad: I could say the same thing.
He whispered back.
Han told Chewbacca as he looked up information to a nearby ship's computer.
Luke, Ben, Scrooge, and Donald then made their way inside the cockpit.
Scrooge: Are we clear from any threats?
He asked.
Han: Well, not at the moment. I'd stay sharp! There are two more coming in; they're going to try to cut us off.
Donald: Well that's just wonderful because we have not been through enough with these guys.
Luke: Why don't you outrun them? I thought you said this thing is fast.
Luke said as Han quickly turned to his direction.
Han:Watch your mouth, kid, or you're going to find yourself floating home. We'll be safe enough once we make the jump to hyperspace. Besides, I know a few maneuvers, We'll lose them!
Della: I hope so.
The imperial ships then started to fire at Han's ship.
The group is frightened when they notice their blast shots from the windows.
Han: Here's where the fun begins.
He told the frightened passengers.
Launchpad: They might be closing in on us.
Donald: We need to get away from them!
Scrooge: What in the blazes are you waiting for!
They said in panik.
Ben: How long before you can make the jump to lightspeed?
He asked Han.
Han: It'll take a few moments to get the coordinates from the navi computer.
Just then the ship begins to rock violently as lasers hit it.
Luke: Are you kidding? At the rate they're gaining...
Luke said before Han interrupted him.
Han: Traveling through hyperspace isn't like dusting crops boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it?
He asked Luke.
Launchpad: I think we went into hyperspace once, but by accident.
Han: Well that doesn't really change how hyperspace works thankyou very much!
The ship is now constantly getting fired by the imperial ships as a warning red light begins to flash inside.
Della: Well it looks like this is getting bad to worse.
Luke: What's that flashing?
He asked.
Han: We're losing our deflector shield. Go strap yourself in, I'm going to make the jump to lightspeed.
Scrooge: Della! LP! Come with me and Donald!
He said as Della and Launchpad got up.
Della: Ben! Luke! You guys could sit here!
Luke: Well thanks! I guess!
Han: Would you all hurry up! I don't have all day!
He said as Luke and Ben quickly sat down while also strping themselves up, while Della, Donald, Launchpad, and Scrooge quickly left the cockpit and when they did they also quickly strap themselves up.
Han then puts his ship into hyperspace and when he does, the whole galaxy brightens and they start to move faster and the stars become streaks as his ship zooms into infinity and away from the imperial ships as they go further into the galaxy to reach their next destination.
