Ch 12. Alderaan Destruction and Lukes training.
Elsewhere in space, the Death Star is seen looming towards the Planet that is known as Alderaan. Inside the Death Stars Admiral Motti enters the quiet control room and bows before Tarkin, who is standing by a large screen that is showing Alderaan's image.
Motti: We've entered the Alderaan system.
He said as Vader along with four storm troopers entered with Leia, Dewey, and Webby having their hands bound.
Leia: Governor Tarkin, I should have expected to find you holding Vader's leash. I recognized your foul stench when I was brought on board.
She said as Tarkin approached her.
Tarkin: Charming to the last. You don't know how hard I found it signing the order to terminate your life!
Leia: I'm surprised you had the courage to take the responsibility yourself!
Tarkin: Princess Leia, before your execution I would like you along with your little new friends to be my guest at a ceremony that will make this battle station operational. No star system will dare oppose the Empire now.
Webby: We'll see about that, you big jerk! It will take a lot to break us!
She said to Tarkin angrily.
Leia: Yeah, the more you tighten your grip, Tarking, the more star systems will slip through your fingers.
Dewey: So what are you planning to do to try and scare us?
He asked.
Tarkin: Well I'm glad you asked, young brave ducky boy.
He said as he put his attention back to the princess before continuing.
Tarkin: As for you, Princess. Not after we demonstrate the power of this station. In a way, you have determined the choice of the planet that'll be destroyed first. Since you are reluctant to provide us with the location of the Rebel base, I have chosen to test this station's destructive power on your home planet of Alderaan.
He said which immediately horrified Leia, Dewey, and Webby.
Dewey: Wait you are going to what!
Webby: You are all going to destroy an entire planet!
Leia: No! Aldewraan is peaceful. We have no weapons. You can't possibly...
She said before being interrupted by Tarkin who waved menacingly towards her.
Tarkin: I grow tired of asking this. So it'll be the last time. Where is the rebel base?
He asked her in strong demand.
Leia: Dantooine.
She answered softly before she raised her voice.
Leia: They're on Dantooine.
Tarkin: There. You see Lord Vader, she can be reasonable.
He said before he continued.
Tarkin: Continue with the operation. You may fire when ready.
He said to Motti, which immediately shocked Leia, Dewey, and Webby.
Leia, Webby, and Dewey: What!
The three of them said in complete surprise.
Tarkin: You're far too trusting. Dantooine is too remote to make an effective demonstration. But don't worry. We will deal with your rebel friends soon enough.
He told the princess.
Leia: No!
Is all that Leia could say in a last ditch effort to try and save her planet.
Tarkin then turned his attention to a panicked Webby and Dewey.
Tarkin: The same can also be said about your own people as well.
Webby: You frickin tricked her! How could you do that?
She asked Tarkin.
Dewey: Yeah, you are a backstabbing son of a gun! She gave everything that you needed to know!
Vader: Commence primary ignition.
He said as he entered the Death Stars Blast Chamber.
The fellow Imperial soldiers did just that as they managed to turn on a huge beam aiming directly at the planet and fired, which blew up the entire planet in just seconds.
All Leia, Dewey, and Webby could do was watch in complete shock and horror at what they had just had to witness as the entire Planet of Alderaan is now extinct and is no more.
Elsewhere inside the Falcon Ben, Huey, Louie, May, and June all watch Luke practice the lightsaber with a small seeker robot. However they all quickly notice that Ben turns away to sit down and is almost about to faint.
Luke: Are you all right? What's wrong?
Huey: Are you having some sort of headache?
Louie: Need anything to drink?
May: Are you tired or something?
June: Are you feeling hot or cold, sir?
They all asked in concern.
Ben: I'm good, it's just that I felt a great disturbance in the Force... as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.
He said as he took a moment to rub his head.
Huey: Well I'm sorry that you are feeling that way.
May: It seems that whatever you are feeling is not any good news.
Ben: It's fine little ones, it's just how the Force works.
Ben then turned his attention to Luke.
Ben: You'd better get on with your exercises.
Han along with Della and Launchpad enter the room.
Han: Well, you can forget your troubles with those Imperial slugs. I told you I'd outrun them.
He said as everyone didn't really pay much attention to him.
Han: Don't everyone thank me at once.
Della: Well you are absolutely welcome Han after you drove the whole thing like a complete maniac.
Launchpad: Yeah! I'm surprised that we didn't even somehow crash because of you.
Han: Well that is what I call expert flying and you should both get used to it.
Della: Yeah you would not even allow us to even fly even though we are both pilots.
Han: Well I said this once and I can say it again, this is my ship and I make up the rules around here.
He said as he placed his attention back to everyone else.
Han: Anyway, we should be at Alderaan in about two hundred hours.
He announced it to everyone.
Chewbacca along with R2, 3PO, Scrooge, Donald, Daisy, Beakley, Duckworth, and Penumbra are sitting around the lighted table covered with small monsters which have a small computer embedded in it. It appears that it is a game between Chewbacca and the two droids while everyone else is being a spectator.
Chewbacca is then seen resting his arms over his, which was an indication that he had just taken his turn and it was the droid's turn next.
3PO: Now be careful R2.
He said as R2 reaches up and taps the computer with his claw hand causing one of the holographic creatures to walk a new square.
Scrooge: Very smart move.
Penumbra: This game does seem really cool to play.
Donald: Well I probably still need a better understanding on how to play this because I still don't really get what to do.
Then Chewbacca notices this, he starts to yell and growl at R2 in frustration.
Daisy: Well it looks like you guys made him upset with the choice you two have made.
3PO: He made a fair move. Screaming about it won't help you!
The Taller Droid told the Wookie before Han managed to intervene.
Han: Let him have it. It's not wise to upset a Wookie.
3PO: But sir, nobody worries about upsetting a droid.
Han: That's because droids don't pull people's arms out of their socket when they lose. Wookies are known to do that.
3PO: I see your point sir, I suggest a new strategy R2. Let the Wookie win.
Scrooge: But then that won't be fair at all.
Beakley: Yeah now the game would just be rigged in your friends favor.
Han: Well I don't know what else to say, Chewie will always want to have his way even if he is in the wrong.
He said as he went to watch Ben's training on Luke.
Donald: Geez even I thought I was the one that had the worst temper.
Duckworth: The same with me whenever I turn into a demon.
He said to himself.
Ben: Remember, a Jedi can feel the Force flowing through him.
Ben told Luke as he is frozen in place with the lightsaber held over his head.
Luke: You mean it controls my actions?
He asked Ben.
Ben: Partially. But it also obeys your commands.
Just about ten feet away from Luke is the small floating droid called the seeker. The small droid then moves on one side and goes to the other before quickly lunging closer Lukes face. Luke responded by just holding still and then the minidroid backed away. However the droid then behind Luke and then it shoots a laser beam at Luke, hitting his leg and causing him to fall to the ground.
Han laughed in response.
Han: Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.
Della: Could you give Luke a little respect? He's trying his best, I suggest you give him a little slack Han!
Louie: It seems that learning this Force is not an easy task that can get done.
Luke: Yeah, it seems like it is not easy at all.
Luke said as he got up before turning to Han before continuing.
Luke: You don't believe in the Force, do you?
He asked Han.
Han: Kid, I've flown from one side of the galaxy to the other. I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe there's one all powerful force controlling everything. There's no mystical energy field that controls my destiny.
He said to Luke before continuing.
Han: It's all a lot of simple tricks and nonsense.
Ben then approached him holding a large helmet.
Ben: I suggest you try it again, Luke.
Ben said as he placed the hemet on Luke's head which also covers his eyes before Ben continued.
Ben: This time, let your conscious self and act on instinct.
Ben said as Luke laughed in response before continuing.
Luke: With the blast shield down, I can't even see. How am I supposed to fight?
Ben: Your eyes can deceive you. Don't trust them.
He said as he threw the seeker in the air.
The ball shoots straight up in the air, then it drops down quickly. Luke swings the lightsaber around but ends up missing as a laser once again strikes him in the leg area.
Ben: Stretch out with your feelings.
Huey: Just keep trying Luke, don't give up.
Launchpad: Yeah, get right back up!
Daisy: You could do it, Luke.
Luke: Thanks for the motivation talks.
He said as he got back up ready to face the seeker again.
The seeker makes a dive and shoots a laser at Luke again but only this time Luke successfully deflects the shot and the seeker goes back to its normal position.
Luke then took off his helmet and when he did the entire Mcduck group managed to give him a huge applause but Han really was not that impressed.
Ben: You see you can do it.
May: Yeah that was incredible.
June: You really showed that small droid who's boss.
Launchpad: You nailed it big time.
Della: Wish I could be able to do that.
Luke: I really appreciate your guy's support. I really do.
Han: I call it luck.
He said feeling unimpressed.
Ben: In my experience, there's no such thing as luck.
Donald: The only type of luck we know is our cousin Gladstone.
Scrooge: Which can get annoying from time to time.
Louie: Well, I appreciate his luck.
Ben: Well, I had no idea that was even a possibility for someone to be that lucky.
He said feeling a bit surprised.
Huey: Well, our family is very unusual, I don't know what else to say.
Han: Look, going good against remotes is one thing. Going good against the living? That's something else.
He said as he notices a small light flashing on the far side of the control panel.
Han: Looks like we're coming up on Alderaan.
He said as the news both relieved and excited the whole group.
Han and Chewbacca head back to the cockpit.
Luke then but his attention back to Ben.
Luke: You know, I did feel something. I could almost see the remote.
Ben: That's good. You have taken your first step into the larger world.
He said in delight.
Back in the Death Star inside the Conference room Imperial officer Cass stands before both Tarkin and Vader.
Tarkin: Yes?
He asked the officer.
Cass: Our scout ships have reached Dantooine. They found remains of a rebel base, but they estimate that it has been deserted for some time. They are now conducting an extensive search of the surrounding systems.
Tarkin: She lied! She lied to us!
Tarkin said in anger by this news.
Vader: I told you she would never consciously betray the rebellion.
Tarkin: Terminate her immediately!
Cass: Well, what about the two children?
He asked Tarkin.
Tarkin: Then we will terminate them too because they both probably conspired with the princess to lie to us! So, leave this room and get it done now!
Cass: Yes sir!
He said as the officer left the conference room.
