Chapter 16: Quest to find the Falcon and an unexpected tragedy.
As the whole group exited the garbage room, they then entered a dusty unused hallway while Della was holding her arms around Launchpad's neck as they entered the hallway.
Della: It seems like this place is very quiet.
She pointed out.
Huey: I'm assuming that all of us are still safe?
He asked.
Donald: Well lets just hope so.
Webby: I'm just relieved that all of us didn't get squashed to death.
Dewey: Yeah I was not looking forward to dying like that either.
Scrooge: Well we can't rest for long because we still have to find our way back to the ship and we don't even know where it even is.
Penumbra: Well first I think it's a good idea that we take these disguises off of us since we probably don't need them anymore.
Luke: Yeah I think we should because I smell like I just came right out of a junkyard.
Han: Ok let's do that but you all owe me those attires once we are done with all of this.
The group then took a moment to change out of their now worthless disguises with Han and Luke changing out of the troopers uniforms while the rest of the Duck family changed out of Hans ruined attires with Della needing some assistance to take her own off before being in the same position on Launchpad.
Han: Ok if we can just avoid any more female advice, we ought to be able to get out of here.
He said as he gave a Blaster to Luke.
Luke: Well, let's get moving!
Just then Chewie lets out a concerned growl as he points back to the garbage room and runs away.
Han: Where are you going?
He asked as he noticed the creature from before letting out one of his strong tentacles.
Louie: Well this is great I thought we didn't have to deal with that darn creature anymore.
Daisy: What do we do?
She asked as Han started toaim its blaster at the creature.
Leia: No, wait! They'll hear!
Leia warned Han but he ignored her as he shot at the creature but instead the blast echoed in the entire empty hallway as everyone took a moment to duck out of the way as the blast went around the hallway walls while the creature quickly retreated back into the garbage room.
Han then puts his attention back to Chewie.
Han: Come here, you big coward! Chewie! Come here!
Han said as he pulled Chewie away from his hiding spot despite the Wookies protest.
Beakley: Well that's just great that might have gotten the attention from those troopers again.
Leia: Listen. I don't know who you are, or where you came from, but from now on, you do as I tell you. Okay?
Leia told Han in demand which he saw as a surprise.
Han: Look, Your Worshipfulness, let's get one thing straight! I take orders from one person! Me!
He told her.
Leia: It's a wonder you're still alive. Will somebody get this big carpet out of my way?
She asked as Leia pushed Chewie out of her way and started walking.
Donald: Guess we should follow her it seems like?
He asked.
Della: Yeah it looks like it.
Scrooge: Well let's move because we are wasting time standing here.
He said as everyone else quickly agreed and started walking.
Han: No reward is worth this.
He told Luke as they went further down the hall's corridor.
It took the group at least a few minutes to move down the empty hallway before they noticed a nearby bay window that showed them a view of the Falcon with troopers still guarding it.
Luke then takes out his comlink to communicate with 3PO again.
Han: There she is.
Scrooge: This means we should be close by.
Beakley: Depending on how many of these soldiers get in our way.
Luke: C-3PO do you copy?
He asked using his comlink and it didn't take long for the taller droid to respond.
3PO: For the moment. Uh, we're in the main hangar across from the ship.
The droid told him.
Luke: We're right above you. Stand by.
Leia: You all came in that thing?
She asked Han before she continued.
Leia: You're braver than I thought.
Han: Nice! Come on!
He said as he gave Leia a bit of a dirty look as the entire group continued to try to advance back to the ship.
As the group did continue to make their way to the ship, they accidentally ran into a squad of twenty troopers much to their surprise and horror.
First trooper: It's them! Blast them!
One trooper said as they were set to fire their blasters.
However, before they did so, Han quickly draws up his blaster and fires at the troopers first which causes one of the troopers to go into the air. The squad then quickly fell back and Han decided to chase after them Chewie deciding to follow suit.
Han: Get back to the ship!
Han told the rest of the group as he and Chewie started to chase down the remaining troopers.
Luke: Where are you going? Come back!
Luke tried to tell Han and Chewie but they failed to hear him.
Penumbra: They can't just chase those troopers down on their own its suicide.
Beakley: I think we should help them.
Scrooge: That we should because he and his furry friend are key to get us out of here. Beakley, Penumbra, Launchpad, and I will go help out while Luke, Leia, Donald, Della, and Daisy stay with the kids.
He told them.
Daisy: Are you crazy? You are going to get killed as well.
Donald: Yeah, it's definitely a bad idea.
Webby: We just got reunited again and now you want to split up again.
Louie: We can help as well this situation is nothing new to us.
Dewey: We want to join the action too. We have been on adventures similar to this. How is this any different?
He asked.
Della: Well we are not our home planet and we are not familiar in these types of situations and it's best that you kids are safe until we can get everything figured out.
She said as Launchpad placed Della on Donalds shoulders.
Huey: Well ok I guess.
May: Well good luck then.
June: Just be careful.
Donald: Just don't let us down.
Scrooge: We won't now let's go LP, Beakley, and Penumbra.
He said as they took out blasters of their own and started to run further down the hall as well to help out Han and Chewie.
Leia: They all do certainly have courage.
Luke: What good will it do if they get themselves killed? Come on!
He said as they then heard muted alarms going off causing them to run for the hangar deck and entered the starship hangar with several more troopers chasing them.
Meanwhile Han is still chasing down the troopers down the long hallway only for the imperial squad to reach a deadend of the hallway and quickly decide to fire their blasters back at Han. Han manages to stop a few feet in front of the squad and assumes his own position as the troopers start to raise their blasters at him and slowly start to advance toward him causing Han to run back the way he came from. As Han tries to run he runs right past Chewie, Scrooge, Beakley, Launchpad, and Penumbra. They then quickly notice the advancing troops firing at them as well and decide to follow Han while also trying to fire at the advancing troopers but they thankfully get much needed assistance from 3PO, R2, and Duckworth to escape them and reached the main forward bay with no further issue and waited for everyone else.
Further down the hall Luke, Leia, Donald, Daisy, Della, and the kids are seen running from the troopers that are after them as Luke uses his own blaster to shoot back as they enter an open hatchway. As they entered they noticed that hatches bridge had been retracted and noticed the big fall underneath them causing them to stop but as they did Luke nearly fell down the abyss and to his death but Leia and Daisy managed to save him just in time before pulling him a few feet away from the fall.
Huey: Oh no, we are trapped again!
Donald: It's a dead end.
Luke: Looks like we took a wrong turn.
He said as the troopers chasing them started to close in while still blasting at them.
Luke then fires back at the troopers before Leia manages to use the doors nearby switch to quickly close the hatch.
Daisy: Are you able to lock this door?
She asks as Leia tries to find a way to lock the hatch.
Leia: There's no lock!
She pointed out as Luke quickley used his blaster to shoot the switch.
Luke: That oughta hold it for a while.
Webby: Lets just hope so.
Louie: So now what?
He asked.
Leia: We've got to get across. Find the control that extends the bridge.
Luke: Oh, I think I just blasted it.
Della: Well that's just great! Does anyone else have any idea how we could get across?
She asks as the group then notices the troopers are making slow progress opening the hatch.
Dewey: That does not look good.
Leia: They're coming through!
She said as the group started to further panic.
Luke then notices another trooper on a higher deck aiming at them and before doing so Luke starts to fire back only for two more troopers to come in from the higher deck but Luke manages to shoot them down quickly and get the higher decks cleared.
Luke: Here, hold this.
Luke said as he gave Leia her then pulls a nylon cable from his imperial belt which has a grapple hook on it.
Donald: I don't think we have enough for everyone.
Luke: I think I only have one. Do you guys have your own grapples or something?
He asked.
Webby: Oh right I have my own one right here. I knew this would come in handy at some point.
Dewey: I also have my own.
Della: Same with me.
She said as Della gave her grapple to Donald.
Luke: Well the problem is solved then.
Just then another trooper appeared from another deck and started to fire but Leia managed to quickly shoot at it before noticing that the trooper's feet are showing from the other side of the hatch as they are making further progress to open it.
Leia: Here they come!
She pointed out as she shot down another trooper that was on a higher deck.
Luke then finishes tossing the rope across the gorge and wrapped it round oncoming pipes and made sure it was secured while Webby, Dewey, and Donald did the same with their own grapples.
Donald: Ok it looks like we are ready to go.
He said as Luke held on with Leia, Donald held on with Della along with Daisy, Webby held on to May along with June, and Dewey held on to Louie as well as Huey.
Before they started to make their way across Leia managed to kiss Luke which surprised him.
Leia: For luck.
She told him before Daisy decided to do the same thing with Donald.
Daisy: For the exact same thing.
She said as everyone pushed off the end and swung across the abyss before they all successfully landed on the corresponding hatchway that was on the other side before the troopers managed to finally get the hatch open but were too late as Luke quickly fired back at them and the entire group made their exit.
It didn't take long for them to meet up with Hans' group as they managed to make their escape from the troopers that were chasing them as they all made it back to the Main forward bay where several troopers are seen guarding the Falcon.
They all quickly notice their presence.
Daisy: We are sorry that we are a little late.
Donald: Yeah we came as quick as we could.
Han: What kept you?
He asked them.
Leia: We ran into some old friends.
Dewey: Well we just ran into more of those snowmen people and managed to escape them.
Scrooge: We are really glad that you kids are still safe.
Webby: Yeah, but it was scary for a moment though.
Della: Well we should almost be out of here hopefully.
Luke: Is the ship all right?
He asked Han.
Han: Seems okay, if we can get to it. Just hope the old man got the tractorbeam out of commission.
Dewey: Old man?
Webby: Your saying someone else came with you guys?
They asked, feeling confused.
Huey: Yeah his name is Ben Konobi.
Louie: And he seems like a really great guy as well.
Dewey: Well if that's the case I can't wait to meet him.
Webby: Same with me but for some reason his name sounds familiar.
She said as everyone looked at her.
May: How come?
She asked her.
June: Yeah how sis? You don't know him just yet.
Webby: I have no idea.
Dewey: Yeah I think so as well but I also don't know.
Donald: How about we talk about this once we get out of here.
He said as everyone quickly agreed with him since their main focus is to get out of the Death Star alive.
Luke then noticed the Troopers started to move away from the Falcon and quickly noticed where they were heading too as there was an ongoing battle between Ben and Darth Vadar.
Luke: Look!
He said as he pointed to the current sword battle between them with the troopers surrounding them.
3PO, R2 and Duckworth are seen entering the Docking Bay not too far away from where everyone else is.
3PO: Come on, R2, we're going!
3PO told R2 as they headed into the main bay.
Duckworth: We got company coming quickly! Over there!
The ghost butler said as they quickly hid out of view from the oncoming troopers as they continued getting close to the ongoing fight.
Han: Now's our chance! Go!
He said as everyone quietly moves to the Falcon while the guards are still distracted.
As the group manages to reach the Falcons ramp they continue to watch the battle and realize that Ben is trapped.
Della: Um, guys I don't think Ben is gonna make it.
Scrooge: What is he even doing? He got himself captured.
Donald: Well we need to do something we can't just leave him.
Han: We don't have time, we have to go right now.
Luke: Well what are we doing then we can't just stand here.
Then they noticed Ben was looking at them for a moment knowing the entire crew is safe before putting his attention back to Vader as Ben then lifts his own lightsaber upwards while closing his eyes as Vader swung his lightsaber into Ben's torso area for the final blow. However, before Ben can experience that type of pain his whole entire body disappeared as Vader used his lightsaber to hit him with only his lightsaber and cloak remaining.
After witnessing Ben's death the group could only look in complete shock and horror to what they had just witnessed with the kids almost bursting into tears.
Luke: NO!
He yelled in complete aghast which ended up catching the attention of the stormtroopers who started to fire at the group.
Scrooge: Quick kids get inside! Now!
He told the triplets while also noticing how traumatized they were from what they just witnessed before the rest of the adults quickly joined them.
However, Luke continued to shoot at the oncoming troopers.
Han: Come on!
Leia: Come on! Luke, it's too late!
Scrooge: We have to get out of here lad! There is no point.
Donald: Yeah, we will have to fight them another day!
They tell Luke as he immediately realizes that they are right before moving close to the ramp.
Han: Blast the door kid!
Han told Luke as he quickly fired at the panel to prevent more troopers from entering.
Everyone is safe on the ramp with Luke the only individual having not entered the Falcon yet as he continues to fire at the troopers that are advancing.
Ben: Run, Luke! Run!
Ben's voice echoed to Luke as he did just that and when he entered the ramp immediately closed.
It didn't take long for Han and Chewie to start the ships engine as the Falcon then exited the Death Star with no tractor beam in place to stop or slow it down as the Falcon starts to fly through the galaxy once again.
