Harry had just finished 2nd yr and his plans for the summer changed when he finds himself alone near Whitchuch. A friendly visit with Katie ends with large changes in both their lives. The newly form bond and their changes leads to changes in the lives of friends and allies. Who are their real friends? Only the Pack will know.

8. Chapter 8

Rockclaw's Office

Manager Rockclaw had escorted Harry, Katie and the Bells back to his office were Solicitors Tonks and a Healer were waiting for them to arrive from the will reading. Once Rockclaw was at his desk, he pressed a rune that would alert the healing ward that a healer was requested.

"Lord Potter, the healer will be here shortly," stated Rockclaw. "Solicitor Tonks, who is the Healer that you brought?"

"Manager Rockclaw, this is Healer Meredith Frye," introduced Andromeda. Shortly after introducing Healer Frye to Lord and Lady Potter the goblin healer arrived.

"Healer Noimexa, let me introduce Lord Potter and Healer Frye, who will be working with you to full asses the health and record past injuries and health status of Lord Potter," introduced Rockclaw. "I will allow you to lead them to an appropriate ward for the assessment." Healer Noimexa, bowed her head and motioned for Lord Potter and Healer Frye to follow and they departed for the healing ward.

[Be safe and remember I love you,] called out Katie.

[I will. I love you too,] replied Harry

Once in the healing ward Healer Noimexa leads them to a large alcove off of the main ward and instructs Harry to go behind the privacy screen and disrobe and have a seat on the bed. She also informs Harry that the healers will come in one at a time to ensure that their findings are complete and independent of one another. Harry proceeds behind the screens and undresses down to his boxers and sits on the bed.

A few minutes later Healer Frye arrives and sets her healer bag on a nearby table and pulls out a clipboard and paper and starts with basic demographics and collects a quick history on Harry. She then asks Harry to lay down as she is ready to begin her exam and diagnostic scan of Harry. It takes her about 15 minutes using varying spells and charms to complete her exam of Harry. Once she is complete she puts her equipment away and leaves the area so that Healer Noimexa can come in and perform her study.

Right after Healer Frye left, Healer Noimexa arrived and set a piece of parchment on the table and begins her examination of Harry. She start with a small collection of blood that was put on the parchment and then she starts the spell casting and waving of hands. Her exam last around 25 minutes and then she is done and informs Harry that he can get dressed once she has left the area. He is to wait there until one of them comes and gets him.

The two healers complete their notes and documentation on the findings of their exams of Lord Potter. They each have a long piece of parchment listing all of the injuries and medical problems that have affected Lord Potter over the years. Copies of the records were made and one set was secured in Healer Noimexa's office, the other copies would be given to Manager Rockclaw, Solicitor Tonks, Healer Frye and Lord Potter. Healer Noimexa collect Harry and the three of them returned to Rockclaw's office.

"Manager Rockclaw, here are the results of Lord Potter's exam," stated Healer Noimexa upon their return to the office.

"Healer Noimexa, thank you. Please be seated while we review what was found," answered Rockclaw. Rockclaw passed out the copies of the medical exam to indicated people. Harry sat down with Katie and the two of them went over the report.

"Healers Noimexa and Frye, we will need an oath on life and magic about what is contained in this report," informed Manager Rockclaw, after seeing the line on Lord Potters Lycan status and soul-bond "This report needs to be encoded, sealed and protected at the highest level."

Seeing the concern in the face of Healer Frye, Solicitor Tonks speaks up.

"Healer Frye, some of this information on the health of Lord Potter is very sensitive and even though your healer oath will protect most of the information being disclosed by you it will not prevent the discussion with colleagues or the release of the report," informed Solicitor Tonks.

Healer Frye ponders what she has just been informed and requested to provide. They are not asking her to violate her healer oath only to take very protective oath with regards to the young lord sitting here, and what she has learned. "How long will this oath last?" she asks.

"Healer Frye, we ask of this oath until it is safe for the information to be revealed," answered Harry. "Some of this information will be disclosed during Yule, like the soul bond/marriage."

Reflecting on the findings on the exam and what is being asked of her and how it only impacted Lord Potter and his health record, she pulled out her wand and gave an oath never to reveal the findings of the exam on Lord Potter without his permission. Magic flashed accepting the oath.

Healer Noimexa quickly gave a similar Goblin oath, never to reveal the findings of Lord Potters medical records without his permission.

Ted Tonks then started to transcribe the list of injuries and dates onto legal documents that will be used in the Queens court for the change of legal guardianship. "We have chosen to split the duties of this case between us," stated Andromeda. "Ted will deal with the mundane side of the legal matters and I will deal with the Wizarding side. Even as a witch I will have more pull and ability being a pure-blood."

Once all of the business was complete Harry asked to go down to the Potter Vaults. He wanted to see what was in there for possible rings for Wife and two betrothed. The trip down to the main Potter vault took several minutes. Once the vault was open he found the vault had a entry chamber with four doorways leading off of it. The left most passageway lead to the family library of most rare tomes, books and scrolls. It was in here that he found the family Grimoire. The next passageway lead to a room full of armour, clothing and shelves full of potion ingredients. He left the room and moved to the next passageway and this lead to a large room full of stacks of gold, bronze and silver coins. Also along the north wall were tables and shelves with several large jewellery boxes. While looking through the boxes and tables Harry found a small ring box that contained his mum's rings. He picked them up for Katie. He also found two more sets of wedding rings and engagement rings for Luna and Susan, for when it was time. He picked both of them up before heading to the last passageway. In this room were the collection of weapons that the family had collected over the years of their existence. His business done in the vault for today, Harry left and closed the door before heading back to Rockclaw's office.

The Burrow

Arthur had just started eating breakfast, with Percy and the twins, when the Daily Prophet was delivered. Arthur relieved the owl of the paper and stared at the front page with a look of surprise of the Headline.

"What is it Arthur?" asked Molly, seeing the look on her husbands face.

"James and Lily's wills were read yesterday," answered Arthur.

"What?" exclaimed Molly. 'Albus promised that those wills would never be read. How did this happened and who told Harry about them?' reflected Molly.

Late Lord and Lady Potter Will's read

Yesterday the wills of the Late Lord and Lady Potter were public read at Gringotts. Only those receiving gifts or invited were present for the official reading of the wills. This reporters source stated that Chief Warlock and Headmaster Albus Dumbledore stormed into the conference room demanding that the will reading be stopped as the wills were sealed for the protection of the Ministry and the Greater Good. The Headmaster also stated that as Mr. Potters Magical Guardian he did not authorized the readings nor give permission to Mr. Potter to have the wills read.

Chief Warlock, the Minister of Magic and his under secretary were all escorted from the conference room that the reading was taking place in. It was revealed during the will reading that Sirius Black was not the secret keeper for the Potters and also that he was the sworn God-father to Mr. Potter. It was after hearing this part of the will that additional goblins were called to the area of the conference room and to the main lobby of the bank, to keep peace and prevent the mob that was forming in the conference room from physically confronting the Headmaster and his interference with Mr. Potter. These emotions only escalated when it was revealed that the Chief Warlock was a signed witness on Lord Potter's will.

It was a night or two after the public reading of the wills that Harry and Katie had a chance to visit the goddesses in their dreamscape. After enjoying the walk to and around the gardens they two mates made their way to the sitting area and the goddesses.

"Welcome our children," greeted Freyja.

"Thank you for calling us," responded Harry, with Katie nodding. "We have some questions to ask about recent events and more about the soul bond."

"What trouble you my child," asked Mórrigan.

"During our recent meetings with our account manager we learned that I am involved in two marriage contracts," started Harry. "From what we have been able to find and read on soul bonds, they are singular and the bond is so complete that the bonded never wonder or seek others. I do not want loveless marriages to them, for sake of house continuation. They need to be able to love their spouse and receive love back."

Seeing the conflict and the concern in the children the goddesses had amused looks or smirks on their faces. They had not discussed the changes in the soul bond in depth and the changes that occurred in the bond.

"Remember when we told you about the bond and how it was changed by being involved in the mutation of the curse that you have?" inquired Freyja. Both teens nodded, remembering the comment.

"Good. Your soul bond was altered/changed to a very special bond, that has never been seen before," continued Freyja. "This new form, pack soul bond, still has the original bond in it. Your alpha bond is the true soul bond, that the two of you would have formed if not for the attack."

Harry and Katie sat and processed the new information and observed each other and the goddesses.

"Part of the change in the bond structure is the communal or pack part," added Selena. "This part of the bond allows for the formation of love and acceptance of other pack females, whether they are Lycan or not."

"All females who choose to join the pack will feel loved and will share love with you and their pack sisters. Some will even find love in the few males brought in to keep the pack strong and protected," commented Diwija. "The wives you marry for protection of their houses or to bring back your houses are included in this."

"My child you have the more love inside of you to cover each and every wife you may have, and then some," said Freyja. "Katie, you are similarly affected, in that you will love each of the females that join the pack. This pack bond will allow love to flourish through all the wives and sisters. Jealousy will not grow and spread in this pack."

Katie and Harry were relived in hearing that the change bond would allow for all of those chosen to be loved, cared, and cherished within the bond. Harry felt better knowing that he will love all of his wives in some way, and that they will never be in a loveless marriage, and each will develop on their own and at their own pace.

The goddesses were pleased when the look of understanding appeared on the faces of the children before them. They had been confused and concerned when they arrived about their pack and the lack of love or the rising of jealousy.

"In our first meeting you said that our bite will be dangerous only to werewolves," stated Katie. The goddesses nodded to this. "Recently we had some discussion on what is a Lycan and how were differ from Werewolves, and we wanted to know what would happen if while changed we bit a child who was just bitten by one of Greyback's pack members or Greyback himself? Regardless if the child is magical or not."

"Neither Katie or I would every wish that curse on another child," added Harry.

The goddesses observed the two children and soon understood the concern and caring being shown by the two of them. Their bite is deadly to a werewolf, but would it harm a newly infected, who has not had their first change? The goddesses pondered this and they slowly started to look at the problem and the changes in the curse/disease. After several minutes it was determined that it could do one of two things.

"We are proud that you show concern and caring for others that may be infected by the actions of Greyback and others like him," started Hecate. "We have looked at the changes in what makes you Lycan and different form werewolves, and we have determined that one of two things may occur."

"What happens to someone who has been recently infected with lycanthropy and has not yet undergone their first transformation, will depend on the intention, sincerity and/or magic of the person," continued Mórrigan. "If the person is honest, sincere, accepting, and welcoming of the gift you can offer, then your bite will not harm them, but lead to their transformation into Lycan. If they are not then the bite will kill them like it would a werewolf, at their transformation."

"My mum said Greyback would intentionally attack and infect children during the last war to grow his pack," replied Katie. "We wanted to be able to offer them a chance to live a productive life if we could. We are also concerned that Greyback or his pack will retaliate towards our friends and classmates at Hogwarts."

"If they are sincere and truly accepting of the gift they will survive the bite. We are proud of your concern shown for others. Remember one of you must bite over the initial wound," finished Selena. Harry and Katie looked at each other and the goddesses and were happy to know they could help give children a choice, if they can help.

The group talk some more and discussed other item that needed to be mentioned or taught to the two mates, while still leaving select items for discussion just before the next full moon.

The next several days was spent finishing their summer home work and for Harry to better know Katie and her family. Solicitor Tonks came by on the 20th and informed them that guardianship had been given to the Bells and that Child Protection section of Department for Education and Skills (DfES) had begun an investigation into the actions and behaviour of the Dursley's. Harry also sent several letters to Hermione, Daphne, Luna and Susan by both Hedwig and house-elf delivery. Katie and Harry had some alone time walking around Whitchurch and back at Highclere Castle. One day they met up with Angelina and Alicia at Marwell Zoo. They had a fun day hanging out and just being teens. Harry did take a lot of fun ribbing by the flying foxes of Gryffindor as the three chasers were known.

It was getting late in the day at the zoo when Angelina and Alicia cornered Katie in the Life Among the Tree exhibit, as Harry had gone to fill up their water bottles.

"Katie, spill it," demanded Angelina. "You two are way to close, for being just friends."

"No," replied Katie. "Not here and definitely not when threatened."

[Who's threatening you?] asked Harry

[The girls. They want to know what is going on between us,] answered Katie.

[I will be there in a moment,] replied Harry

"Oh, we are not threatening yet," snickered Alicia. "What gives, with you two? I know that you were watching him all last year. Staring at times."

"You will have to wait for Harry to get back. I will not talk about it as part of it is his to tell," responded Katie.

"Mine to tell what?" asked Harry, as he returned with filled water bottles.

"Nothing Harry," responded Angelina, glaring at Katie.

"Oh, these two just being noisy and jealous," said Katie, glaring back at the older girls.

"What are they jealous about?" asked Harry.

"Me, having a boyfriend and they don't," replied Katie, with a snicker seeing the faces of her friends. Katie knows that her two fellow chasers were seeing the Weasley twins. Angelina and Alicia being the older of the four show their age by sticking their tongues out at Katie. Harry and Katie start laughing at the two, followed by the older girls.

"No, Katie will not tell us the tasty details on how you two hooked up," stated Angelina, once she stopped laughing.

"Well I agree with Katie. This is not the place to discuss that," stated Harry. "If every one is done watching the animals, I think we need to go some place more private to talk. How did you two get here?"

"There is a pub in Colden Common, that has a public floo connection," answered Angelina. "It's a 20 min walk from there to the zoo entrance. How did the two of you get here?"

"Magic," replied Harry. "Follow us out and we will go some place more appropriate."

Once they had left the zoo and crossed to the tree line on the far side of the parking lot and out of view of any mundane. Harry called for Dobby and Twinkle. The two house-elves arrived with a quiet pop and on the far side, so Harry and Katie blocked their arrival from the parking lot.

"How may Dobby help Master Harry, sir?" asked Dobby on arrival.

"Dobby, Twinkle, can you take all of us to the tent?" asked Harry.

"Yes," replied the elves nodding happily as they each grabbed the hands of two teens and popped out to the tent.

The four teens and two elves arrived out side of Harry's tent in a soft pop. Harry asked Dobby and Twinkle to make sure the wards around the tent were in good order before letting them go for the time being.

Katie led Angelina and Alicia into the tent and told them to have a seat while she went into the kitchen and plated up some fruit and four Butterbeer and took them to the sitting area and set them on the coffee table. Harry had just entered the tent when Katie brought over the snacks and drinks, and the two of them sat down on the couch while Angelina and Alicia had taken the chairs. They each grabbed one of the Butterbeers and some bites of fruit.

"So, when did you two finally hook up?" asked Angelina.

"At the beginning of the month," replied Katie. "Harry sent me an owl second or third day of July asking if I could meat up with him and visit some. We met at the silk mill on the 4th and had an enjoyable day together and he even allowed me to drag him home to meet my parents."

"Hey, they are nice people," touted Harry. "Don't talk like it was torture to meet your parents." The girls chuckle at Harry's response. They both knew how first meetings of boyfriends and fathers went.

[I know, but it is still fun to tease you with it,] replied Katie.

Angelina and Alicia look at the couple some more and ponder what they have said and how they have been acting all day. "What are you two not telling us?" asked Alicia. "You two are way to comfortable with each other if you only started seeing each other 10-15 days ago." Katie and Harry exchanged looks with one another, at the question from Alicia.

[How much do we tell them?] asked Katie.

[What are you comfortable with?] replied Harry.

[Nothing about the change or the bond,] answered Katie.

[I agree with nothing about the bond or the change,] said Harry. [I will start.]

"We were walking around the village after dinner, before I had to leave for the night," started Harry. "We had just passed her old primary school and crossed back across the river when were attacked. We ran up the street leaving the path we were using and were able to loose our attacker, as Katie knew some alternate alleys and pathways. We do not know who the attacker was and Philip has been talking with the local constables about the attack and they have not found any information."

"Mum thinks it is some what of a survival joining that we are having," stated Katie. "We had talked about people we were interested in when we met earlier in the day. And we found we did have an interest in each other, me so more than Harry here."

"That's only because your older," pouted Harry. "I was still trying to figure out if girls are more fun or still yucky." All of the girls smiled and giggled at Harry.

"Harry, Katie started last year thinking boys were still somewhat yucky to," teased Angelina.

"Did not," state Katie.

"Did to," responded Alicia.

"OK. Most boys were repulsive at the start of school year," conceded Katie. "Harry, you were the exception to that rule. I found you cute, and in 2nd year, when you joined the team, I thought you were adorable."

"Harry, she did at that," agreed Angelina. "Really all three of us found you adorable during your first year. You were so quiet and shy." The colour of Harry's face and neck were a good match for Gryffindor red.

"So, how are you guys doing, since the attack?" asked Angelina.

"We're doing well. Neither of us were hurt and Harry kept himself between me and the attacker," answered Katie. Harry nodded his agreement.

"Harry we noticed that you are not wearing your glasses,"commented Alicia. "We like the new look and your eyes are so much more inviting, without your glasses."

"Thanks. When we got back to Katie's her mum had us check by a healer, the next day, and found that my eye sight could be corrected with some potions and a couple of spells," answered Harry.

"I know. I love how his eyes are so much brighter and the green so vivid with out his glasses," responded Katie, as she looked into Harry's eyes. [I love you.]

"Stop it you two, or we will get the elves to spray you two down," teased Angelina.

Alicia noted the time as she looked at her watch and moved her had to get Angelina's attention. "It is getting late and we need to get back home," stated Alicia. "Do you think that one of the elves can take us back to the parking lot so we can walk back to the pub and floo?"

Harry shook his head. "Twinkle, can you come here?" requested Harry.

"Master Harry, what can Twinkle do for you?" asked Twinkle, after arriving with a soft pop.

"Can you take our friends to Angelina's house?" asked Harry.

"Yes, I can do that. I just need to hold Missy Angel hand to get picture to move to," answered Twinkle.

"Thank you Twinkle," replied Harry. "Will that work for your two?"

"Harry that will work for us, and Alicia can use the floo to get home from my house," answered Angelina.

Twinkle moved over between the two chasers and took a hold of Angelina's hand first to get the picture and then she grabbed Alicia's hand and popped away.

"Do you think they will have more questions or did we give enough to keep their interest down?" asked Harry, as he started to clean up.

"I think so," answered Katie, as she grabbed the fruit plate. "We will have to expand on the story to them, but for now they got the information that they wanted."

"Well, it was good visiting with them today. I think it is time to head home," stated Harry, as he calls Dobby. Dobby came and took his Master and Mistress to Potter Manor were they were staying for the rest of the summer.

As the two bonded were turning in for the night Katie approached Harry and wrapped her arms around him from behind. "What have you been reading the past several evening?" Katie asked.

"It is a journal letter from mum. It started on 1 Oct 1981 and stopped the night before the attack," answered Harry. "Do you remember what mum said in her will about not trusting Dumbledore?"

Katie nodded in reply.

"Well, I've thought about what she said, why they chose to follow Dumbledore and listened to him about hiding the cottage," continued Harry. "I was missing something or what happened did not make sense. She says not to trust or follow him, but they both followed without fault."

"So that is why you wanted to go down to the family vault after the initial meeting with the Tonks, to see if your parents left any books or letters behind that might explain," summarized Katie. Harry nodded to her statement.

"This journal answers a lot of my questions," stated Harry, holding up the book. "It reads like a letter to me, but is written in a journal formate. Mum, explained what was happening outside the cottage as well as what life was like and the conflicts that were occurring as she saw them. She also expressed how grateful she was to have me and amazed at what I could do. It seems I was talking a little and was having bouts of accidental magic, and the need to put basic magic binder on to keep my accidental down when they went out in the normal world. After a couple of entries like these, mum started to talk about a prophecy that Dumbledore told them, but mum believes he only gave them some of it."

"Prophecy about who?" asked Katie.

"Per mum, Dumbledore would never site the whole prophecy to them only what he wanted them to know," answered Harry. "Mum did not write the prophecy in the letter, and mum thinks there is more but Dumbledore would never tell them. This is the reason they went into hiding as part of the prophecy was overheard by a Voldemort supporter and he was informed."

"Divination is so vague and most are self fulling," commented Katie. "The way it is taught at Hogwarts is useless, as Sybill Trelawney does not teach about the different types, styles and how it can be used by those with true gift of a seer, but how to be a seer. So it is basically a useless class that teaches most students nothing."

"So, why would Dumbledore insist I take that over Runes and Arithmancy?" questioned Harry, softly while pondering what mum wrote, Katie said and Hermione and Professor McGonagall gave last term.

"Runes are the base for wards, protection and slow magic, while Arithmancy can be use to develop new spells and charms and can be use to breakdown charms and their power," responded Katie. "Arithmancy is a form of wizard mathematics."

"He is trying to keep me dumb and ignorant!" exclaimed Harry. "It fits with what was found on the medical test. Dumbledore does not want me to learn, excel and become a leader. He wants me dumb, beat down, isolated and easily malleable to his plan. But why?"

"Love, that prophecy has something to do with this plan of his," answered Katie, not liking what Harry was saying and the conclusions she was drawing up that came to the same ending. "What else did your mum say?"

"Mum goes on about how odd dad is after meetings with Dumbledore. How basic alert wards she started to put up would be gone the next day," stated Harry. "Not faded but removed, like someone came and disabled them. She also commented on not finding any protective wards on the property only the Fidelius Charm. There was an entry on the debate about secret keepers, mum was not buying Dumbledore's answer about them not being allowed to be secret keeper, nor would he explain his insistence on using Peter. Mum was loosing trust in Peter over the last year or two and noted his change and odd behaviour, but dad and Sirius would not listen to her. Mum also had several entries about the change in the courses and the drop of knowledge required for the subjects, and the loss of other courses."

"Did your mum talk about any contingency plans in case they were attacked?" inquired Katie.

"Mum did. She wanted the alert wards functioning to allow them time to go to the basement and into a hidden tunnel and room she made," replied Harry. "She also wrote about some ancient magic and rune work that she had placed in my room as a last line of protection. From the journal my scar was the last item needed for the protection magic, other than time. Once mum carved the rune it took a little time to full power up, and mum did not know how long that would take."

"So your mum and dad fighting to defend you that night was to buy time for the runes to charge," summarized Katie. She did not like the look on her husband's face. "Love, your parents knew that they would not survive if the house was breached. Your mum and dad delayed the bastard long enough for the last line of protection to charge and protect you, and for that I am grateful. Never ever blame yourself for their deaths. If you do they will hex you into next week when you see them again."

"I think you are right," replied Harry. "Mum did explain why she did not trust Dumbledore and believed he had his own plans for magical Britain. He did not truly try to defeat Voldemort and his followers. Nor would he actually do anything to combat bigotry and protect non pure-bloods."

"But non of the explains why your parents followed him like they did," stated Katie.

"Mum was getting frustrated with dad and his blind belief that Dumbledore had the answers," answered Harry. "Dads belief in Dumbledore got stronger after his parents died. Mum wrote that 'Charlus and Dorea were removed', implying some one wanted them dead and out of the way, but she could not prove it. So instead of fighting with dad, she started the journal letter to me to help explain, what was happening and why she could not be there for me. Mum focused on me and how to protect me from what was to come and supported dad, but had lost faith in Dumbledore."

"Love, lets go to bed and sleep, it's late and we can discuss this more tomorrow," stated Katie, as she pulled Harry to bed. Once in bed she pulled Harry to her and wrapped herself around him like a protective blanket. Katie did not like what she was hearing from Harry and his reading nor the possible implications, but her gut was telling her that Lily was right and that they could not trust Dumbledore. She will need a long talk with her parents about her concerns and what she believes from Lily Potter's writing. If Harry's grandparents were removed to get James to act a given way, what is to prevent her parents being removed in the same way to gain control of Harry and herself.
