Harry had just finished 2nd yr and his plans for the summer changed when he finds himself alone near Whitchuch. A friendly visit with Katie ends with large changes in both their lives. The newly form bond and their changes leads to changes in the lives of friends and allies. Who are their real friends? Only the Pack will know.

10. Chapter 10

A/N: A new chapter. Inspired by stories from Whitetigerwolf and Kaleb-yamato, and the challenge from timbarney110, challenge not followed. This story starts near the end of CoS 2nd year. Potter Manor

Harry and Katie wake up agitated. They both are easily irritated and snap a little while eating breakfast with Katie's parents. Elvina advises them to rest, and suspects it is the moon's effect on a persons with lycanthropy affecting their emotions and behaviour. The two teens spend the day resting and studying what they can, anything too tedious causes outbursts.

"Dobby," calls Harry. Dobby arrives with a soft pop.

"How can Dobby be of service for the Great Wizard Harry Potter?" asks Dobby.

"Thank you for coming. Can you find a safe place near Hogsmeade Village that we might be able to use? Something close to the Dark Forest," asked Harry. "We need a place to go to before the full moon tonight and return to in the morning, to leave and collect our clothes."

"Dobby be doing," answers the elf, popping a way on his task.

"Katie, studying is not working, lets go and try and relax," stated Harry as he stood up from the desk, closing his book.

"Lets," Katie replies as she moves from her seat and into Harry's arms as he wraps them around her protectively. The two teens move out of the Manor and towards the gardens to rest in the warm sun.

While they were sitting in the garden Hedwig arrived with a response from Lord Black, informing them that he would meet with them on 5 Aug at 1000. The letter was a port-key and would bring them to Blackmoore Manor.

It was mid afternoon when Dobby returned informing the two teens that he had found the ideal place for them to use. It was on the edge of the Dark Forest and not far from the Shrieking shack. It was isolated, but could easily be accessed from the foot path leading to the shack, when needed.

Harry and Katie had a light dinner with her parents before they left for their room to pack a bag with a change of cloths for the morning. After saying good bye to their parents the two teens had Dobby take them to the location that he found.

Harry, Katie and Dobby arrived on the foot path leading from Hogsmeade to the shrieking shack and after turning a bend in the path Dobby lead them off the path and into the forest. A short walk from the path found them standing in front of a cliff wall. Dobby then showed them an opening on their right in the cliff wall that was partially hidden behind a rock outcropping. Harry looked back towards the foot path and could just make out the sign post pointing to the shack, because of the trees and under brush.

Once inside the cave Dobby quickly placed an elven Lumos on the walls and the teens could see that the cave was about 15 feet high, 40-50 feet deep and 20 feet wide. Looking towards the opening they could see that it was shielded by the outcropping. The three of them explored around the cave before Harry found a small opening at the edge of the back wall hidden in a notch and a jumble of rock. Casting Lumos Katie and Harry moved along the opening and found that it was about 7 feet high narrower at the top than bottom and that it ran back about 12 feet before opening into another large room. This new room had a flat bottom, with several alcoves off of the main space. The space was about 20 feet high, and roughly 25x30 feet across. Looking around Harry asked Dobby to collect his tent later bring it here, with the back of the tent against the front wall, this would leave a nice area in front of the tent for sitting around a camp fire. One of the alcoves that they found, started about 3 feet above the floor and was around 4 feet tall, 8 feet wide and deep, it looked like a nice space for a sleeping area. Katie studied it some and then asked Dobby if he could build a bed in the space and then ward the area from mice and other critters. Another alcove ran back a bite and had a small spring and pool in it. Harry started to feel more agitated as evening approached and mentioned it to Katie who nodded in agreement. They left their bags and wands here and made their way back out of the cave.

"Dobby, can you take our clothes back to the cave once we have changed?" asked Harry. Dobby nodded his head causing his ears to start flapping. "Also can you hide and further protect the opening to the back space in the cave so that if some one else who finds the cave, they will not find the passage?"

"Dobby can be protecting Potter hole," answered the elf.

"Thank you Dobby," stated Harry. "Lets go find a small clearing to wait for moon." Harry holds out his hand to Katie, who takes it and then moves into his side.

They soon find a small clearing near the cave, deeper in the wood and wait for the moon to rise. Sensing the moon rise Harry pulls Katie into his embrace and kisses her softly and passionately before stepping back and removing his cloths. Katie stares at Harry for a moment after he moved away missing his warmth and the protection of his embrace, before she to removes her cloths. Once both teens are starkers they move back to one another and sit on the large nearby rock and wait for the change to begin.

Forbidden Forest

Full Moon

The full moon begins to rise over the horizon and the teens start to feel the power and pull of the moon on their bodies. They move away from one another but they never break eye contact, as each stares deeply into the eyes of their mate. The changes starts with lengthening of their hair as it changes to fur. Next the bones in their hands, feet, arms and legs start morphing followed by the rest of their bones and organs. They both feel immense pain and discomfort during the change, and the sounds of their bones breaking and changing would frighten any one, hearing the sound.

Soon standing in place of the teens are two Lycans. Both are in their hybrid form (looks like a Lycan from Underworld), Harry stands about 7-8 ft and with broad shoulders and strong muscular build, but not over bound. While Katie is slightly smaller in build and 6.5-7 ft in height. They each have about 2.5 foot tail and fully covered in a rich black coat. Katie's breasts are fuller than in her human form and she has a smaller set of breasts/teats below them. Harry has gained a large sheath with a large pair of bullocks beneath.

They look and watch one another for several moments before Harry moves over towards Katie and begins to lick her muzzle, as they rub muzzles. Katie returns the gesture and soon they are holding one another tightly inhaling the scent of their mate. Their pointed ears were moving around listening to the sounds of the forest as they hold one another, picking up all the new sounds to them, along with the new odours and smells.

[Katie, are you alright?] asked Harry.

[I am now that you are holding me.] answered Katie. [I hope the next time we change is not so painful. I wanted to die to stop the pain.]

[It should get easier the next time,] responded Harry, hoping the same thing.

Katie gives Harry's muzzle one last lick, pushing him away and takes off running. Harry quickly recovers and give chase. The two Lycans yap and howl as they chase one another and run through the forest. During a lull in their game of chase their ears pick up sounds of concern and struggle. They follow the noise and come upon a Unicorn mare and foal. The foal is limping and struggling to walk while the mare is circling it giving off smell of fear and concern that they picked up on along with neigh, squeal and other sounds showing her stress. It is while observing the mare that Katie and Harry pick up the scurrying sounds of the Acromantula. Quickly Harry picks out the silhouette of the giant spiders as they move through the trees.

[Katie there,] calls Harry, looking in the direction of the spiders.

Katie lets out a loud howl, as she sees them and then joins Harry in moving back into the shadows. They move closer to the spiders and charge them before they can reach the mare. On their first pass through the spiders they each, are able to severely disable or kill a spider. Their black coats allow them to disappear back into the shadows after their attack. The six remaining spiders pull back, looking for the threat. They do not recognize the scent of the new attackers, nor their appearance. Katie and Harry make another attack from above and their claws and strength kill two more spiders and they punch or tear through the carapace of the spiders. Before they can break away two of the remaining spiders spot them and attack. The fight is short and brutal as their increased strength, speed and agility allows them to dodge the spider's attack and to take out a leg or two slowing down the spiders. Soon the last of the spiders are dealt with and they slowly approach the mare and foal, keeping a safe distance.

Harry keen sense of hearing and smell soon picks up the presence of others and turns to face them. Slowly a small party of Centaurs move into the open and look at the two new comers. Bane looks at the carnage before them and sees that the two new comers have moved in front of the mare and foal facing them. Bane sees that both of the new comers are squared and poised to attack the unknown threat. He motions for the rest to stop and slowly lowers his bow, as he approaches.

"We will take the mare and foal with us and heal it's injuries," states Bane. He looks at the two new comers, and notices that they are male and female. He is unsure who they are but they have protected the two unicorns. Slowly Harry moves to his right and allows Bane to approach the mare and foal. Katie stays behind and to the right of Harry, neither taking their attention off of the Centaurs. Seeing that the mare and foal are safe with the Centaurs, Harry and Katie quietly move back away from them and further into the shadows, before disappearing from view. Bane and the Centaurs look around for the two newcomers, but cannot find them.

After leaving the mare and foal with the Centaurs, Harry and Katie move to a near by stream and clean the spider remains from their coats. Once clean they begin to run deeper into the forest before coming upon a small quiet clearing fully bathed in moon light. They are pulled to the centre of the clearing where they are both filled with peace, caring and a sense of safety. It is here that Katie's pheromones start to become more pronounced and enticing to Harry. He has been smelling them all night and their scent has been driving him mad. His own body and pheromones start to respond. Katie is soon overwhelmed by the scent of her mate and moves to Harry whimpering for his attention.

Harry looks at his mate and sees her kneeling on all fours in front of him with a look of lust and need in her eyes and body, keeping as low to the ground. He moves forward and allows his nose to follow her scent and soon identifies the source. He buries his nose in her leaking sex before giving is a long lick with his tongue. As Harry's tongue is drawn across the opening of her core, Katie lets out a long whimper at the feeling of great pleasure that she has received. She pushes back a little trying to get his tongue and muzzle deeper. Harry continues to lap at the fluids leaking from his mate and excited by the whimpers and cries she makes. The combination of Katie's and his pheromones, along with the growing discomfort in his groin causes Harry to abandon his licking and crawl up Katie's back until he is covering her with his body.

As Katie feels Harry move up her body she moves her tail as far, as she can, out of his way while she starts pushing back into him. Harry's pheromones are pushing her desire and need to be mounted deeply. Harry stops moving when he feels his tip slide along Katie's core and he is able to lick the side of her muzzle. Slowly the two start pushing towards one another and both are overwhelmed by the sensation they feel as Harry's cock penetrates Katie's opening and core. Harry brought Katie to several minor peaks but they were both denied the massive release they both desired. This was due to the goddesses interfering to prolong the pleasure of the two bonded. After some time the goddesses released their magic and allowed Harry and Katie to move onto their mutual peak. Harry finally obtained full penetration with his tip entering Katie's womb and her opening ring slamming tight behind his knot locking them tightly together as they crash over the summit of orgasm. Their magic merges together as they reach their combined release, building a growing sphere around them in a swirling mass of waves. The brightness of the magic blinds all that look at the two bonded as they finalize their bond. The two lovers collapse from the pleasure and magic of the bond. The magic of the sacred clearing protects them from harm and aids in their comfort. The nymph, dryad, and Fae in and around the clearing emerge to cover the blessed tied lovers, in blankets made of flowers and leaves. The inhabitants of the clearing sense the protective nature of the bonded pair in their circle and are pleased to share their space with new protectors. Several wolves appear around the edge of the clearing taking up guard of the pair of alphas in the centre. Unknown to them, but the call of the wolf requested they come and protect.

The teens sleep through the night tied together, surrounded by a faintly glowing sphere of magic. When they wake in the morning, they are both back in their human form and Harry is still resting fully inside of Katie. After waking and separating Katie notices that none of Harry's gift has flowed from her before or after he pulled out, even when she stands it does not run out. She explores her lower abdomen with both her fingers and magic and finds that his precious gift sits sealed in her womb, at feeling the small mass above and behind her Mons.

Harry studies Katie as she explores her body with a questioning look on her face.

[What's wrong?] he asks.

[I expected to feel your cum leaking out when you pulled out, and more so when I stood up,] answered Katie. [But there is nothing leaking out.]

Just before Harry stood beside her, Katie's probing and magic finely told her what happened. Noticing Harry standing beside her she gently took and laid his hand on her lower belly and helped him find and feel the results and the hiding gift.

Slowly they separate and start to head back to Potter hole to collect their clothes and return to Potter Manor. They both try to change into their wolf form, to help hide their nudity. Both were able to change on their second attempt. Before leaving the clearing they both catch glimpses of the nymphs, dryads, and Fae in the clearing and bow their heads to them thanking them for the use of the clearing.

The nymphs, dryads and Fae move into the the centre and bask in the residual magic, of their bed, after the bonded pair had left. They note the bow of head in thanks from the pair. The residual magic strengthens and enriches all that enter. Endowing each a bón that strengthens this island of peace and safety in the forest.

Gringotts

Harry and Katie arrived at Rockclaw's office at 0945 for the meeting with Director Ragnok and King Ragnok at 1000.

Director Ragnok talked with the King shortly after the public will reading and showed him the memory of the fight with the basilisk. The High King was astonished at seeing the size of the beast and even more impressed seeing the child kill the beast. No this was not a child, but a young warrior, bearing the title of Lord Potter.

Today's meeting was to discuss the sale and harvesting of the basilisk, Harry had heard back from Professor McGonagall that 6 Aug would be a good day to visit to collect the body, as Dumbledore would be out for and ICW meeting, in Switzerland, and Professor Snape would not be present.

Rockclaw lead the to teens down to the Directors office before they were escorted to the Kings audience chamber. Upon arrival they stood quietly to the side until announced to the King.

Director Ragnok, Manager Rockclaw, Harry and Katie approached the King and bowed before the King.

"King Ragnok, may The People prosper by your leadership," offered Harry, as he bowed to King Ragnok.

"Rise. May the House of Potter grow as its enemies fall before it," responded King Ragnok to the party. "Lord Potter, I have seen the memory of the beast that lays in the Chamber of Secrets. Let us move to more private setting to discuss the processing and harvesting of the corpse."

King Ragnok, moved from his seat and lead the group to a side room used for such meetings and discussions.

Negotiations began shortly after all those necessary were present and the memory reviewed so that the master craftsmen could see what they would be processing and to determine a price and payment. The warriors present in the meeting looked repeatedly at Harry during the meeting with growing admiration that a child so young could truly slay a beast so old and large. They also had growing anger in those whose job was to protect a child from such beast, and had not done so.

It was determined that Harry and Katie would meet the goblins outside of Hogwarts at 0800 on 6Aug and he would lead them to the chamber for processing of the corpse, as it was to large to move. The final numbers would be determined after they goblins could fully evaluate the beast.

After all of the master craftsmen had left and only the High King, Director Ragnok, Manager Rockclaw and the Potters were present did Harry ask to discuss the most sensitive topic of Lycan.

"High King Ragnok, my wife/mate and I have a very sensitive topic to discuss with you," started Harry. "Both Director Ragnok and Manager Rockclaw know of this topic and we want to be open with you. On our recent inheritance test it list our species as Lycan. We are the Alpha pair of a new species, and we wish to keep this away from the ministry."

"Lord Potter, what is a Lycan and how did this change occur?" inquired King Ragnok.

"The events started on 4 July, while was visiting with Katie at her home," started Harry. The two teens then provided memory of their fight with Greyback and their discussion with the goddesses. King Ragnok asked some pointed questions and was impressed by the answers he received. He was impressed when the Lord and Lady changed into their wolf and hybrid forms, knowing that a werewolf could not perform a change without the full moon.

Seeing the young warrior before him and the possibilities of improved relations for the people, King Ragnok agreed to keep the secret of the Potters and a renewed alliance of House Potter and the People was formed.

Blackmoore Manor

Precisely at 1000 Harry and Katie arrived in the front gardens of Blackmoore Manor, a short walk from the entrance. Just as they arrived at the doors they opened and the young lord and lady were met by a sharply dressed house-elf.

"How be Vodkey of service?" asked the elf.

"We are Lord and Lady Potter and we have a meeting with Lord Black to discuss some mutually important items," answered Harry.

"Yes, Master is expecting you. This way," replied the house-elf, as he lead the young couple to the Lords Study.

Vodkey led the teens to the Lords Study where Arcturus Black was waiting for them. Arcturus was an elderly wizard, and one was able to see the strength of by gone years in his frame, he had dark hazel grey eyes, and more silvery grey than black hair. Lord Black was sitting behind his deck when Vodkey knocked on the study's door to show the young Lord and Lady in.

Harry and Katie stepped into the room, after being let in by Vodkey and both gave a short bow or curtsy to Lord Black. "Lord Black, thank you for taking time to meet with us," greeted Harry.

"Lord Potter it is a pleasure to meet the grandson of my cousin Dorea," greeted Lord Black. "Please sit. Tea?"

Harry and Katie moved to the sitting area by the fire place were the tea services was sitting. After handing Katie into her seat he prepared tea for the two of them, then sat beside her waiting for Lord Black.

"Lord Black, allow me to properly introduce us," started Harry. "I am Lord Harry James Potter, Head of the Ancient and Noble Houses of Potter and Peverell, and this lovely lady beside me Lady Katie Alena Potter nee Bell, my wife and bond mate." Arcturus lifted an eyebrow slightly when hearing the two teens sitting across from him were soul bonded.

"A pleasure to meet a young Lord and Lady," commented Arcturus, with a slight nod. "What important businesses would you have for House Black?"

"I wish to discuss family with you," started Harry. He reached into his robes and pulled a copy of his mothers will, setting it on his lap. "I have recently read the wills of my parents and found out that your grandson Sirius Orin Black was my oath sworn god-father, by ritual, and that he was not the true secret keeper for my families hiding place." Harry then placed his tea on the side table and opened the will to the section about Sirius and handed the parchment to Lord Black.

Arcturus sat stunned hearing that his grandson was the child's sworn god-father. He now knew what his family magic had been telling him that his true heir and grandson was innocent. He read the will handed to him and struggled to keep control of his emotions, relying on his Occlumency skills.

"Lord Black, you know that two prisoners recently broke out of Azkaban?" asked Harry. Arcturus nodded to the question. "The two prisoners were Sirius Black and Bellatrix Lestrange nee Black." Arcturus motioned understanding. "A few days ago one of my house-elves caught an odd pair of animals sniffing around my camping tent and was able to capture the two Animagus. One large black dog and a black cat, both were taken to Potter Farm, were they remain under wards."

"What does this have to do with House Black?" asked Arcturus.

"I have talked with both visitors at the farm," replied Harry. "The two Animagus are Sirius Black and Bellatrix Black." Arcturus left eye brow almost disappeared into his hair line, hearing this and he head snapped to look at the young lord. "Both are worn and in poor health, but the elves are caring for them. Bellatrix Lestrange made a short appearance before the elves stunned her."

"What? How can Bella and Bellatrix both be there?" asked Arcturus.

"When Bella first woke up, she sounded like a frighten young lady and was asking Sirius for help and protection, then their was a flash in her eyes and the psychopath Bellatrix Lestrange was there hurling insults and threats. The elves keep a close eye on her and allow Bella to be present, but stun her as soon as Bellatrix shows up," explained Harry. "I would like to move Sirius here to allow you to get re-antiquated with your grandson and heir. My wife and I believe that we can help Bella get free of Bellatrix. We have a gift that we can offer her, but she needs to be Bellatrix Black before we can help her. We were given a small vision that there are documents at Orion's old home that will provide more information on what is wrong with Bella. What they contain we do not know."

Arcturus nodded hearing that his grandson and grand niece were alive and could be helped. He was furious that Sirius has been in Azkaban, after reading the will. He had been blinded by the family back then and what some of them were up to. He did not look to support this 'dark lord' as it did not look to be in the best interest of the family. To learn that members of the family went around his orders of no support infuriated the aged Lord.

"Please bring Sirius to Blackmoore Manor and I will go to Grimmauld Place and look for the documents," replied Arcturus. " I will also start an inquire into the arrest and trial of Sirius." handing back the copy of the will to Harry.

"Madam Bones of DMLE, has started her own inquire into the arrest of Sirius," commented Harry. "She is aware of the will. We have had some recent family business between House Potter and House Bones." Arcturus nodded to this.

"Can you tell me more on this gift that may return our missing Bella?" inquired Arcturus. Harry and Katie shared a quick look and held a short mental conversation, before Katie took the lead.

"Lord Black, we will not go into detail, but for us to help free Bella she must accept the gift we offer of her own free will," started Katie. "If she accepts the gift and what it will entail she will be free of the madness that entraps her, but to..." she trails off, not know how to tell this powerful lord his niece will become a bound concubine/consort to them.

"Lady Potter, what else must happen?" asked Arcturus, with some concern in his voice seeing that distress in the young lady.

"It is not what we would like, but what must happen to free her from both the mental damage and the control of the charlatan," replied Katie. "Bella would become a bound concubine/consort to the two of us. Her name would also be changed to reflect this.

"After the gift is accepted and the change occurs, anyone looking for Bellatrix Lestrange nee Black would see her date of death being the day she accepts the gift," added Harry.

Arcturus sat quietly looking at the two, reflecting on what he just learned would happen to Bella. He would get his favourite niece back to a degree, but she would be bound to the two in front of him. For Bella living in House Potter would be much better than remaining in House Lestrange. What would they demand of her?

Seeing some of the concern on Arcturus's face, Harry spoke up.

"She will be family and will be treated as such. If the degree of healing was not so much, then she could have just accepted the gift, but to correct all of the damage Bella must become part of the family," stated Harry. "I was treated poorer than a house-elf or slave by my relatives and will not treat Bella as such. She will be able to pursue any of her interests that the bond will allow."

Having Bella back even bound as a concubine/consort, a new station for the mighty House of Black, is still better than being marked for death or suffering in the hell hole of Azkaban, reflected Arcturus. "What would her name be?"

"We have not decided, as we would liker her input on that," answered Katie. Arcturus nodded to this and felt more at peace with what he was hearing. "We have decided she would remain Bella, but nothing else."

"Having Bella free of the madness that affects her would be a blessing for House Black," commented Arcturus. "We were a mighty house in the past, but too many of the family were seduced by the offering of this fool and it has lead to the destruction of the house. Over the last 10 years I have searched and pondered where the House of Black went wrong and lost the true meaning of our family motto."

"May your search find you answers and may our gift help start the healing of House Black," replied Harry. "Will I see you at the upcoming Wizengamot session? I will be taking up my seats as Lord Potter and appointing a new proxy."

"Yes," answered Arcturus.

"Then we will not take up any more of your time Lord Black, as I suspect you have many meeting and business to attend," stated Harry, as Katie and he stood up. "Thank you for the tea and the time to discuss family. I will have one of my house-elves bring Sirius over shortly."

"Have them bring him to the front garden. Thank you Lord Potter for giving this old Lord a chance to place his house in order and back on the right track," replied Arcturus.

The two lords finished exchanging farewells and Lord Black kissed the back of Lady Potters hand, and the two teens left for the farm to have Pops take Sirius to Blackmoore. They spend some time with Sirius and Bella before Sirius departs. After Sirius's departure Harry and Katie start to visit the farm more often to check and visit with Bella.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry front gate.

Harry and Katie were waiting for the arrival of the master goblins who they would escort down to the chamber of secrets for rendering of the basilisk. They were met by Professor McGonagall and she led the group up to the school. Professor McGonagall followed Harry to the 2nd floor girls lavatory where Moaning Myrtle hung out. Once everyone was in the restroom, the goblins sealed and erected a ward so that no else could enter the restroom.

"Hello Myrtle," greeted Harry as he entered the lavatory and seeing Myrtle floating above the stalls.

"Hello Harry," Myrtle replied. Seeing Harry move towards the sinks. "Harry you can join me in my U-bend if you die down there."

"Thank you Myrtle, but not today. We are going down to remove the carcass of the basilisk, if you would like to join us you can," responded Harry, then turned and looked at the sinks quickly finding the correct sink, with the snake motif on the tap.

§Open§, hissed Harry at the sink. Professor McGonagall and Katie flinch at hearing the strange hissing from Harry.

The sinks slowly start to move apart, with much groaning and screeching of the sink bases and structure. Soon an opening appears in the floor about 4 feet across. Not wanting to slide down the pipe again, Harry calls for stairs and gets no response.

§Steps§, hisses Harry and on the north edge of the pipe and grating a set of steps down begin to appear.

Seeing the steps form, Manager Rockclaw and two warriors start down the steps casting goblin light ball spells that light up the steps and the area surrounding the bottom. Once the party descends the stairs the top closes behind the last one down.

Harry leads the party along the tunnel to the cave in and the discarded old basilisk skin. Rockclaw stopped and looked at the size of the skin before returning his gaze on the young Lord. The skin was quickly packed away while two goblins worked to open the tunnel and fortify the ceiling and walls, with an archway.

The party continued on through the tunnel until they reached the large door to the chamber. §Open§ hissed Harry at the door and a small metallic snake made its way around the lock mechanism in the centre of the door, releasing the locks. Once the door was unlocked it slowly opened and allowing the party to proceed into the chamber. The chamber was massive in size, and as they stepped in the wall braziers and hanging lights lit up, bathing the chamber in a eerie glow. Down the middle was a 15 foot wide walkway with shallow pools on either side with 8 large snake statues rising from the pools almost reaching the roof of the chamber 50 feet above, looking down at the walkway, 4 on each side. At the end of the walkway was a large area measuring 60 feet wide and 30 feet deep before another curved pool and the stone face/head of Salazar Slytherin. The mouth was still open from when the basilisk emerged at the end of last year. There laying on the floor and into the shallow pool was the basilisk. Everyone had stopped after entering the chamber on the raised terrace before the steps leading down to the walkway. There were several gasps from the party at seeing the size of the carcass lying before them.

Slowly the party made their way down and to the carcass. As they got closer, several of the goblins started to look at the young wizard with a new eye and respect. Many of them scoffed at the notion a young human could kill such a beast, but here before them was the hard evidence that this young lord had done just that and he was not strutting around or bragging about what he had done. Even the most seasoned warrior of them had respect for what he had accomplished.

Professor McGonagall and Rockclaw were silenced by what they saw as they walked into the chamber. Just not for the size of the space, but also for seeing the dead beast lying at the end of the chamber. Both of them looked at Harry in wonder, and pride in what he had done, but was so humble in that accomplishment. They both saw a very worried and emotional Lady Potter holding onto her husband as she saw the size of the monster that had attacked their friends and classmates last year, and almost killer her husband. Manager Rockclaw, noted the large ink stain on the floor, along with the fading dark magic that was in the ink and diary.

The goblins quickly setup a staging area with equipment and crates for working on the carcass. The first step in the process was taking measurements of the beast to establish some base figures for the value and expected amount of product. The carcass measured 98feet and 5inches in length, 52x43 inches at the head, before tapering down its length. The goblins made quick work and had the carcass cut into transportable sections and crated in three hours. The rest of the rendering would occur back at Gringotts. All of the venom and fangs would be placed in the Potter vaults.

Once they had packed and shrunk the last crate the party left the chamber and Harry sealed the door and then the sinks in Myrtle's bathroom. Harry saw Myrtle doing flying acrobatics around the joists in the ceiling, she looked happier and more carefree. Harry, Katie and the goblins bid farewell to Professor McGonagall and left the castle, while Minerva returned to her summer duties. Well maybe after a finger or two of some fine old single malt Scotch, decided the professor. 'Maybe I should see if Filius is in his office,' pondered Minerva as she headed to her office.
