Ash and Hop run outside the stadium and witness the giant causing all the destruction Ash questions what it is "who is that Pokémon" Hop complies "they call it Drednaw but Pokémon can only Gigantamax inside stadiums or the wild area so this no sense", Ash pulls out the Rotom-Phone and checks what it has to say "Drednaw (Gigantamax Form): a Water and Rock Type, first it comes crashing down on foes, and then it finishes them off with its massive jaws, there's a tale about this Pokémon chewing up a mountain and using the rubble to stop a flood". Drednaw then takes notice of the two young trainers and stares down at them while they try calming it down "Hey there you gotta calm down" and Hop says, "if you keep wrecking the place there won't be a stadium for long", Drednaw didn't listen and then extended its neck and charged it's head right at them to eat them however it misses. With no other choice Ash resorts to the one thing he knows how "guess it's time for a Pokémon battle, that way we can get its attention and lead it away from the stadium" however Hop questions Ash's idea "but how in the world are you going to battle a Gigantamax Pokémon" Ash replies "beats me" leaving Hop shocked and almost scared "you don't know", "but I'll give it a try" Ash had no idea what to do in this situation however he couldn't do nothing so he at least had to try so he tells Hop to get back "Hop you and Wooloo stand way back there okay" although Hop doesn't agree with this "no way if you're going to battle we're going to battle as well". Drednaw retracts it's neck ready to fight and Ash gets ready to battle "okay it's a tag battle" said Ash "all right" said Hop excitedly. Ash runs up to Drednaw and takes his position "let's do this Pikachu" and Hop does the same "we're in on this too Wooloo" both Pokémon get ready to battle.

Pikachu releases a Thunderbolt right at Drednaw's mouth however it does nothing and Wooloo hits it straight on using double kick but that also didn't do anything, Drednaw launches its head back at them again however Pikachu shoots off and Electro Web but it still does nothing and Drednaw's head was getting closer and closer making Ash and Hop run away however Drednaw's neck reaches a point where it can no longer extend. As they get out of Drednaw's reach Ash notices the cracks in ground around him glowing with red lights "what's going on" Ash said confusingly but Hop retorts "I think I know", just then a beam of red light comes out of Pikachu's back and then causes him to grow bigger and bigger so much so that his body gets chubbier and his tail is more longer and jagged also it starts glowing and Hop points out "Pikachu just Gigantamaxed". When Pikachu took a step it manged to quake the ground but it also having a little trouble balancing his weight however it seems Drednaw was ready for a fight, Ash orders to use Quick Attack anyway but due to his size he runs very slow and Drednaw uses G-Max Stonesurge against him. This causes Pikachu to stumble backwards and into the stadium causing more panic amongst the crowd however Pikachu still tries to stand his ground, Hop then points out "hey ash there are still lots of spectators here" so Ash tries to wrap it up and has Pikachu use Iron Tail so Pikachu grabs his tail ready to swing. Leon then arrives and witnesses everything while Pikachu slams his tail into the ground executing Max Steelspike which manages to hit Drednaw hard and Ash yells out in pride "yeah wait a go" to his partner.

Leon then notices both his brother and the trainer he's with "it's Hop but wait that young man he's in a Dynamax battle without a Dynamax Band", Drednaw then uses Max Rockfall ready to crush Pikachu in which Hop recognises the move "it's Max Rockfall if it falls on Pikachu we're done" they start to panic and worry however Leon calls out to them "ask it to use G-Max Volt Crash" they both get surprised by the sight of the Monarch in which he continues to tell them "your Pikachu can do it use G-Max Volt Crash" and Ash replies "okay I'll try it". Pikachu gets ready to fight but Drednaw knocks over the stone wall making it topple in which Ash quickly commands Pikachu to use G-Max Volt Crash so Pikachu let's off a lot of electricity into the clouds in which it drops down on the wall very hard causing it to crumble and for Drednaw to get knocked back right on top of its back, Drednaw then lights off a giant beacon and reverts back to normal in which it becomes very confused about the situation, Pikachu was proud of himself for the win but then started to revert back to normal as well and once he does Ash compliments his partner "you were awesome Pikachu".

Leon runs up to them to check whether they're okay "Hop are you okay" in which Hop replies "yeah we're good oh I'd like you to meet my friend Ash" Ash then thanks Leon "thanks for helping me back there I really appreciate it" and Leon retorts "well I should be the one thanking you for saving all the people Alolan Champion" Ash becomes surprised and chuckles "oh so you know about that too huh" and Leon replies "well the first champion of a region doesn't go unnoticed let alone when we were watching on TV Hop here screamed like a girl in joy after seeing you battling with that Ultra Beast let alone Tapu Koko showing up" Hop then becomes very annoyed with his brother "STOP TELLING PEOPLE THAT". Just then one of the stadium's workers comes by and wasn't too happy with Ash and Hop "you know you can't Gigantamax your Pokémon here what do you think you're doing" Ash and Hop then try to defend themselves "we didn't mean any harm" ash says "yeah we just try to lure that huge thing away" Hop adds on but then the worker looks very confuses "wait lure it away" Leon then explains what happened "these two are the heroes who saved the entire stadium from ruin, at least treat them with respect" the worker then starts to freak out and apologise "oh please forgive me for being so very rude". He then leaves but then Leon then asks Ash a question "you know Ash I've faced off against many trainers including regional Champions" Hop realises what his brother is about to ask, "here we go again" Leon asks Ash "care for a battle" and immediately Ash responds, "you bet, it's on" Leon responds, "great meet me at the stadium tomorrow night".

The next day came at night Ash arrived at Wyndon Stadium and him and Leon were both on the battlefield in front of the ref who had agreed to referee the battle "since it's a request from Leon I'd be honoured to referee the match" and Ash politely thanks him "thanks a lot", before starting Leon gives Ash a Dynamax Band "here Ash take this it's called a Dynamax Band, I noticed while you were battling yesterday that you weren't wearing one on your wrist, but the Dynamax Band gives you complete control over Dynamaxing" Ash wonders "it does" Leon responds "yeah, once your Pokémon is Dynamaxed it's move names change too". Hop then intervenes when explaining Dynamax moves "I'll take it from here the Normal Type move is called Max Strike, the Steel Type move is called Max Steelspike and the Electric Type move is Max Lightning" Leon then adds on "that being said your Pikachu is able to Gigantamax meaning it can use an Electric Type move called G-Max Volt Crash" Ash retorts "G-Max Volt Crash the one we used to stop Drednaw", Leon then goes over how to activate Dynamax "you send your Pokémon back into its poke-ball, then you throw the poke-ball while channelling the power in your Dynamax Band" the problem with all this was Pikachu hating his poke-ball "Pikachu doesn't really like to go into its poke-ball but we'll come up with something, thank you for the loan really" Leon nods and Ash puts on the band and remarks "this thing is so cool".

They both stand opposite ends of the battlefield in which Leon sends out Charizard and Ash sends in Pikachu "Awesome me and Pikachu really wanted to battle your Charizard" Ash states and Leon tells him "it's obvious you understand your Pokémon Partner which makes me happy", Hop then yells out to his brother "Leon be careful in a match ups against types Pikachu has the advantage" though at a disadvantage Leon states "perhaps but when it comes to Charizard and Monarch Leon we never lose a battle" and Ash replies "that's how we want it".

The ref finally starts off the battle "ready battle begin" Pikachu comes in with a Quick Attack but Charizard counters it with Thunder Punch which sends Pikachu flying back but he lands safely on his feet, Pikachu then attempts to use Iron Tail however Charizard uses Thunder Punch to counter it again and send Pikachu back. Charizard comes in with another Thunder Punch but Pikachu attempts to stop it with an Electro Web but Charizard punches straight through it and follows up with Air Slash. Pikachu's hit but is still standing so he attacks with Thunderbolt but Charizard counter attacks with Flame Thrower which manages to push back against Thunderbolt and makes Pikachu move backwards, just then Ash'd Dynamax Band sends a signal to Pikachu and after another beam of light comes out of him he grows bigger until he's fully Gigantamaxed and the electricity from Thunderbolt grows stronger and fully counters Flame Thrower striking down Charizard hard. Ash became amazed by this "we did without a poke-ball" Leon becomes impressed by this "amazing I'm glad we're here now Charizard return" Charizard's poke-ball becomes bigger and glows then Leon announces "this si what I call a real champion time" he throws it and then Charizard comes out growing huge and Gigantamaxed and let's off a monstrous roar, Pikachu quakes the ground using Max Strike however Charizard gets out of the way in time and uses Max Airstream which sends a tornado causing Pikachu to be knocked back. Pikachu attempts a max Steelspike but Charizard prevents this by attacking with Max Lightning causing Pikachu to almost fall however they then finally attack with G-Max Volt Crash but before it hits Charizard fights back with G-Max Wildfire, once both moves hit Pikachu becomes engulfed in the flames while Charizard gets heavily electrocuted in which Hop notices that both could go down "is…is it a draw" however Leon states "it's not over yet". Once the electricity where's off Charizard stands stand however Pikachu gets damaged from the flames and reverts back to normal and then knocked out, as Ash goes to check on him the referee announces the winner "Pikachu is unable to battle which means the winner is Leon" Leon accepts the win but wished it could've gone on longer "shame it's over Charizard" he returns Charizard to its poke-ball.

Ash picks up Pikachu and still congratulates him on the battle "Pikachu you were awesome out there" Pikachu slowly opens his eyes and thanks him back, Leon walks up to them offering an Oran Berry to Pikachu better "here Ash gives this to Pikachu" Ash takes it and thanks him "thanks very much". Ash then thanks Leon for giving him a proper battle "Leon I'm really happy you went all out on me" in which Leon retorts "battles are no fun when you're not going all out it's simple right" Ash hands Leon the Dynamax back "thanks for letting me use this" however he lets him keep it "you hang on to it, you're a trainer that still has rough edges I like that type". Just then Hop comes towards them congratulating them on the battle "my big bro winning just what I expected from the World Monarch, so Ash are you going to join the World Coronation Series" Ash however is a little hesitant at first "I don't really don't know honestly, I mean I don't even officially know how it works" Leon then explains it all "well it's simple really thousands of Trainers around the world compete in a tournament of Pokémon Battles", Hop then intervenes "although they're categorised into four by the rank in terms of how many battles they've won so when you enter you first end up in the Normal Class and after more won battles you rank up to Great Class which consists of trainers ranked from 999-100, then the Ultra Class which consist of trainers ranked from 99-9" Leon then takes over "then finally the top 8 trainers and one of them will be yours truly battle it out for the title of Monarch". Ash immediately makes up his decision "I will enter and I'll be the one to beat you…wait how do I enter", "hand me your Rotom-Phone and I'll get you started" Ash hands Leon the phone and he enters him in the tournament "there you go your entered and once you have your first battle it'll determine your rank" Hop comments "wow you gotta long way to go if you wanna reach the masters", Ash smiles confidently and says "then I'm going to give it my all".

After his little adventure in the Galar Region Ash and Pikachu returned home to Kanto and then headed straight for Professor Oak's lab. When they arrived at the front door they were immediately greeted by none other than his Muk who then gave them both a humungous Hug "hi Muk we missed you too buddy" Muk was so happy to see them he couldn't stop hugging them however Ash needed to tell him something "uhm Muk I need you to do something really important" this catches Muk's attention "I need you to gather all my Pokémon together it's really important, I'll meet you all really soon after I talk to Professor Oak" Muk nods and gets off Ash and then heads out into the field to gather the others, while Ash proceeds to find the Professor.

When he enters the Lab he finds Professor Oak reading a book who takes notice of him "ah Ash your back so how was the Galar Region" Ash responds, "it was amazing I saw new Pokémon, battled the strongest trainer, witnessed the greatest battle, saved a stadium of people from a giant Pokémon and so much more" Oak smiles and asks, "did you manage to get the data on Dynamax and Gigantamax" Ash pulls out his Rotom-Phone and shows the video Pikachu got of Gigantamax Charizard and Dynamax Gyarados. After the Professor watches through the video he's outstand and amazed by this new power "simply incredible" Ash also adds on "oh yeah Pikachu was also able to Gigantamax as well it even took on that Charizard and a Pokémon called Drednaw" Oak retorted "brilliant I must say" he then took notice of the wristband Ash was wearing "would that be a Dynamax Band" and Ash responds with "oh yeah, this was given to me by Leon himself". Seeing all this Professor Oak seemed satisfised with all the data Ash had collected "I'm quite impressed Ash I wonder what else you got up to in Galar" Ash then answers his question "well you see Professor I entered in the World Coronation Series" Oak retorts "no doubt about it that you'd enter a tournament of over 10,000 trainers from around the world all competing to prove who's the strongest…" Oak gets interrupted when at the window Muk was tapping on it in Ash responds "oh good Muk must've gathered them all".

Ash runs outside to all his Pokémon gathered from Kanto all the way to Kalos and then starts a speech "I've gathered you all here because of something big, I've a worldwide tournament called the World Coronation Series where thousands of trainers from around the world battle each other for the of Monarch which means greatest of them all" they start mumbling amongst themselves "and usually I'd just catch new Pokémon for a new roster, but this time I want all of you to participate what do you say are you all in" Ash puts his hand in the middle and at first a lot of them are hesitant but Bulbasaur places his wine on there then Charizard places his hand on there too and soon enough they all put in the hands in the middle showing they all have Ash's back "okay then WE'RE GONNA WIN IT ALL" they all start cheering at the sound of winning the Tournament.
