Sorry about the wait, school's been hectic lately and this was a complicated chapter.
Ash is currently on a plane all the way to the Kalos Region where he was invited to an event the World Coronation Series sponsored called the Battle Festival, here Trainers are able to boost their rankings by battling other trainers who are also registered in World Coronation Series. Right now, Ash and Pikachu were both on a plane to Shalour City and Pikachu was enjoying a bag of cookies however Ash had to take them off him "that's enough buddy" Pikachu starts acting like a child and throws a mini tantrum "you've had plenty and besides we're about to land now" he sits there while sulking. Soon enough the plane lands and Ash heads to the Battle Festival.
When he arrived he saw that is was filled with excitement and crowds of people, he then arrived at the front desk he was then greeted by the receptionist "welcome to the Battle Festival are you just watching or are you a participant" Ash responds with "I'm a participant I even have the invite ticket here" the receptionist verifies the ticket and confirms it "okay this checks out please go through that door there it'll take you to the competitor stands so you'll be ready for your battle" Ash heads through the doors and is ready to take on the Battle Festival.
A while later the festival had begun and so many trainers were competing against each other all with different kids off Pokémon such as a Lapras facing a Poliwrath and even a Geodude facing a Sudowoodo. Soon enough it became Ash's turn and his opponent was a man dressed like a cowboy who then said, "you may as well give up now partner I ain't losing" and Ash replies "well neither am I", the drone then announced, "our next battle will be Ash from Pallet Town vs Lob from Coumarine City". The battlefield then changes to a grass type terrain battlefield, then the drone announces, "both trainers please bring out your Pokémon, 3…2…1…go". Lob throws his poke-ball and sends out Snivy while Lob sends out Clawitzer and then says, "you may have the type advantage but Clawitzer is a high-level Pokémon" Ash retorts "Snivy may look small but it sure can pack a punch".
Clawitzer starts things off with Flash Cannon but Snivy attacks with Leaf Storm however Clawitzer manages to catch all the leaves with its claw and hold them in there allowing the attack to die down. Snivy then tried to attack using Vine Whip but Clawitzer caught it in its claw and started swinging Snivy around and then slammed her right onto the ground really hard. Snivy struggles to get up however at the last second she started glowing blue in Ash's response was "wow now Snivy's evolving" and Lob says, "I don't believe it" Snivy's neck and tail grew longer and features grew out and then when the glowing stopped it had evolved into a Servine. However Lob wasn't faced by this "I don't care if it evolved I'm a finish it here and now" he commands Clawitzer to use Dark Pulse which does hit Servine but she then manages to use Giga Drain which weakens Clawitzer immensely and heals Servine "you learnt Giga Drain" Ash remarks while Lob says "didn't see that coming", Servine then uses Attract causing Clawitzer's guard to be let down meaning she could finish him off, so Servine then repeatedly attacked using Vine Whip and finally finished Clawitzer off with a Leaf Storm. The drone then comes in closer and announces "Clawitzer is unable to battle so the victory goes to Ash of Pallet Town" Ash becomes so happy by this he goes up to Servine "yeah we did it Servine" Servine then stands tall and proud.
Lob puts Clawitzer back in his poke-ball and tells ash while trying not to look upset "kay Ash I won't forget that name". The announcer then comments "okay folks not only did we witness Ash's Snivy evolve into Servine but this Ash's fourth straight win ranking him all the way to 1001st place so a fourth win puts him into the Great Class with the ranking so high puts him into the finals of today's Battle Festival". Hearing this Ash became so surprised about what he had heard and almost couldn't belive it "the Great Class wow, only one win away", meanwhile in the stands a mysterious Trainer rollerbladed by and said, "okay Ash let's see what you got".
While the Battle Festival was having a break Ash and Pikachu were outside on a bench on the phone looking at their ranking and contemplating what's next "with one more win we'll reach the great class" Pikachu was happy Ash made this far but then sensed weird ripples and then ran towards it while Ash called out to him "Pikachu wait up" and proceeded to go after him.
While running they found where the ripples where coming from and found out it was a Lucario in which Ash recognised it "hey I think I know that Lucario" just then he heard a familiar voice call out to him. He turned around saw Korrina rollerblade towards him and greeted "hi Ash" and Ash replied "Korrina I knew it, because of Lucario's Aura" Pikachu then gets excited to see her again and jumps on Ash's shoulder to greet her "good to see you Pikachu how've you been", she then complemented his battle against Lob "I gotta say I was impressed with your battle, it's not every day there's a World Coronation Battle where a Pokémon evolves" and Ash replies "thanks so much, are you in the Battle Festival too" and Korrina answers him "of course and I'm pretty excited about our battle" Ash then becomes confused "what are you talking about" Korrina responds "you made it to the finals and so did I and since I'm ranked 1000th I'm only one rank and battle away from the Great Class", Ash was surprised but happy he gets to battle his old friend "awesome but I'm gonna win because I'll be the one to battle and defeat Leon" Korrina retorts "we'll see about that because if anyone's going to battle Leon it's me". They then head back to the stadium ready for their battle that would determine who would be ranking into the Great Class.
When they get back to the stadium both Ash and Korrina take their places on the battlefield ready to battle while the drone makes the announcement "now on the rock battlefield we will have a normal class battle and it's Ash vs Korrina, for today's battle each can use three Pokémon". The crowd cheers in anticipation for the battle between the two while the Announcer starts talking "listen to the crowd roar, they're cheering for their beloved Shalour City Gymleader Korrina, she'll be facing off against an up-and-comer from the Kanto Region Ash". Ash gets ready to battle "all right let's do this…" just then Servine came out of its poke ball and then she and Pikachu got fired up and ready to battle however Ash wasn't too keen on them battling now so he placed them on the barrier to sit this one out, and he states "you two stay right here" in which they weren't too happy and pouted. The drone begins the match "will both competitors please bring out your Pokémon, thank you in 3…2…1…go", they both simultaneously throw their poke balls in which Ash sends out Staraptor and Korrina sends out Mienshao so the drone then states "battle begin".
Mienshao begins which Acrobatics which hits Staraptor out of the sky and onto the ground hard while the announcer comments "and the rock battlefield bout begins but Staraptor isn't able to dodge Mienshoa's lightning-fast Acrobatics", Staraptor gets up but immediately Mienshao strikes with U-turn while Staraptor comes in with Close Combat however even though Staraptor lands a hit Mienshao manages to stomp down right on top of Staraptor's head leaving it a little stunned. But immediately Mienshao returns to its poke ball and then instantly Machoke comes out which baffles nearly everyone while announcer states "and there's the U-turn switch, as Mienshao is instantly replaced with Korrina's second Pokémon, Machoke".
Staraptor instantly flies in using Brave Bird but Machoke leaps into the air and releases a Brick Brake right on top of Staraptor's back and crashes into the ground, so as it gets up Machoke quickly comes in with Low Sweep but Staraptor manages to finally strike it with Quick Attack causing Machoke to hit the other side of the field hard. Staraptor attempts to strike again but this time using Ariel Ace however as Machoke struggles to get up it manages to use Focus Blast and knock Staraptor out of the sky and knock it out, the drone then comes in closer and announces "Staraptor is unable to battle" Ash then returns it to its poke ball and says, "it's alright Staraptor you did good". The announcer then comments "it appears Staraptor was completely outmanoeuvred, that's Gymleader Korrina for you, using a combination by switching Mienshao with Machoke".
Korrina then holds out her poke ball and returns Machoke to it "Machoke time to switch again, Mienshao your up for another bout" Mienshao returns to the battlefield ready to fight while the announcer states "and with Machoke switched out for Mienshao again whatever Ash needs to choose wisely here". Ash then gets ready to send out his second Pokémon and exclaims "alright let's go" and then Corphish comes out of the poke ball ready to fight while announcer states, "Ash's second Pokémon is Corphish" while Korrina says, "I have no complaints about this opponent, you ready to go" Mienshao stands ready to battle. Corphish starts things off with Metal Claw while Mienshao comes in with High Jump Kick and when both collide they cause a strong shockwave making everyone cover their eyes, Mienshao then attacks using Double Slap but after taking the hits Corphish then charges in with Aqua Jet which lands a direct hit knocking Mienshao down. Mienshao is thrown onto the ground hard but returns with another High Jump Kick which is direct hit but Corphish releases a powerful Crabhammer which lands directly on Mienshao's head and knocks it unconscious. The drone comes in closer and announces "Mienshao is unable to battle" the crowd then goes wild while Ash praises Corphish "wait ago Corphish" Pikachu and Servine also cheer for Corphish, and while Corphish was celebrating he started to glow a shining blue which surprises everyone and Ash says, "it's happening again" while Korrina retorts "wow you're on an evolutionary role" Corphish's claws and body start to grow bigger and when the glowing stopped it had evolved into Crawdaunt. Everyone gets excited about the evolution while the announcer comments "folks who would've thought it two of Ash's Pokémon evolved at our very own Battle Festival".
Korrina holds out her poke ball and returns Mienshao to it and then readies for another one "Mienshao return, okay let's finish what you started" she sends out Machoke again and Ash tells Crawdaunt "Crawdaunt you still up for this" Crawdaunt fist pumps into the air ready to battle. Machoke strikes first Mega Punch but Crawdaunt dodges it and attacks with Crabhammer which is a direct hit causing Machoke to almost get knocked down. Crawdaunt then runs in and uses Crunch to damage and grab on to Machoke's arm and it's new move surprises everyone "what was that" Ash asked and Korrina replies, "I believe that was Crunch" Ash then became amazed by the new move. Soon enough both Crawdaunt and Machoke were both getting tired of the battle so in a last-ditch effort they run at each other to finish each other off, Crawdaunt comes in with Aqua Jet while Machoke comes in with Brick Break and as the two collide with each other a giant dust cloud forms making it possible to see what happened next. The drone came in closer to see what had happened and as the dust cleared both Machoke and Crawdaunt had knocked each other out and then the drone announced "Machoke and Crawdaunt are both unable to battle", the crowd goes nuts while the announcer comments "I don't believe it they both knocked each other out, folks this last round will be the decider".
Both Ash and Korina returned Crawdaunt and Machoke back into their poke balls and praised them for their hard work and send out their final Pokémon as Korrina exclaims "Lucario it's up to you" and like that Lucario emerges from its poke ball ready to battle while Ash remarks "let's finish this Noivern" then Noivern comes out of its poke ball while flying in the air screaming then lands on the ground. Korrina says to Ash "you know Ash I knew battling you would get me fired up" and Ash replies "I feel the same way too so now it's time to see what you and Lucario can do". Before they battle Korrina exclaims at the top of her voice "HERE WE GO, UNLOCK THE POWER WITH, MEGA EVOLVE" Korrina holds out her glove which had the keystone in it and as it glowed it synced with Lucario's megastone making Lucario glow into a purple light and changed its appearance and so once the glowing stopped it had showed Lucario had mega evolved. The battle then began with Noivern using Supersonic against Lucario to confuse him however Lucario endured it and charged up an Aura Sphere so Noivern tried rapidly flying to avoid it however when Lucario released it the sphere went chasing Noivern and instantly to protect himself he fired a Boomburst which then created a giant explosion. Noivern fell out of the smoke injured and out of nowhere Lucario struck with Power-Up Punch causing Noivern to hit hard into the ground, Noivern struggles a bit but manages to get up and then uses Acrobatics and his speed to attack Lucario from all over making it hard to hit however Lucario releases another Aura Sphere causing Noivern to be stopped in his tracks again. Lucario then uses Power-Up Punch while Noivern uses Dragon Claw and instantly both moves land right on each other's faces causing them both to crash onto the ground, they rise and stand up but Noivern struggles and has to have his wing on the ground to support him up however Lucario falls onto the floor and changes out of his mega form and back to normal. The drone then announces "Lucario is unable to battle which means the victory goes to Ash of Pallet Town" the crowd cheers for Ash while the announcer states "despite the incredible efforts of Korrina and Lucario, Ash and Noivern have come out on top", Ash finds this a little hard to believe but is so happy he makes it and exclaims "YEAH" Pikachu and Servine then jump on his back and cheer too in which they then run up to Noivern and congratulate him "you were awesome" Noivern becomes happy by this and immediately hugs them all in which they embrace but Servine wasn't too happy about it.
One the scoreboard Ash's rankings started to change into lower numbers while the announcer says, "and this win moves Ash up in the rankings so now he is in 921st place" Ash was completely thrilled about his new rankings "ALRIGHT I'VE REACHED THE GREAT CLASS" his Pokémon also cheer for him too. Korrina went to go check on Lucario and helped him up "you were amazing Lucario" Lucario puts his paw on her hands and nods.
After the festival was over Ash and all his Pokémon that competed were outside the stadium talking to Korrina "so it seems you've made it to the Great Class, but we're just getting warmed up right Lucario" Lucario proudly agrees, Ash then replies "then I hope we battle again soon right everyone" all his Pokémon start cheering and chanting in excitement however Noivern was so excited that he released a powerful supersonic making everyone cover their ears in pain.
Ash's Kalos Region trip maybe soon will be quietening down, but as for our heroes you can be sure the journey continues.
