Ash starts the day like any other day with a good old fashion breakfast, as he and Pikachu sat at the table awaiting the food his mother presents a plate of toast and bowl of Pokémon food for Pikachu on the table for them "enjoy you two" Deliah says, "thanks mom" Ash replies. As Ash and Pikachu dig into their breakfast Mr Mime is busy sweeping up the floor but then notices the pile of letters that had come through the mail slot in which he gave to Deliah "oh thank you Mimey" as Deliah looks through all the letters she notices a postcard showing a beach which was for Ash "Ash you've got a letter" Ash becomes a little confused now "a letter who from" Deliah hands Ash the letter and he reads it saying "Dear Ash I hope you're doing well, the rest of us really hope you come back and visit soon, love the Alola Gang" after reading it Ash realised he needed to take a break from battling and decided what he needed to do now.
Later on, Ash and Pikachu went into their room and started packing a few things with them in which their mother comes by and checks on them "Ash are going somewhere" she asks and he replies, "yep I'm heading back to the Alola Region".
Soon enough as Ash looks out the window he witnesses the beauty of the Alola the blue sees, the blue skies with the shining sun, the beautiful sandy beaches and the luscious jungles and woods all over the place, he gazed upon the beauty of Melemele Island one of the four islands that make up the region.
Eventually the plane landed and Ash got through the airport and as he exited he saw none other than Professor Kukui in his jeep waiting for them and he even calls out to them "Ash Pikachu" they take notice and immediately run up to him "Professor Kukui, Alola Professor" and he happily replies and pats Ash's head "well Alola Ash welcome home and Pikachu you look great" Pikachu is so happy to see the professor again he jumps on him and nuzzles him. Ash then realises Professor Burnet wasn't present "hey wait where's Professor Burnet" and Kukui answers "she's back at home waiting for us along with the rest of the family now come on they'll be itching to see you". Ash gets into Kukui's jeep and they head off back to the house.
Very soon they arrive back at the house and Ash announced that he was back "I'm home", the door then opens and Professor Burnet greats him while holding a baby boy "welcome back Ash" ash happily replies "Alola Professor Burnet and…" Ash then takes notice of the cute little baby trying to touch him "this is Lei right" and burnet happily and almost tears saying "that's right big brother" hearing this made Ash feel all warm inside "big brother me, hi Lei nice to finally meet you wow tiny and soft hands" Lei then starts tapping Ash's cheek out of pure excitement to meet him, "come on now I'm sure the others will be happy to see you too" Kukui says.
As Ash enters the house again he gets a true feeling of nostalgia and looks around and then sees at the TV area all his old Pokémon sitting around it however they were completely oblivious to the fact Ash was back, Incineroar and Lycanroc were to fixated playing video and Melmetal was too embraced watching their progress all while Rowlet was just sleeping as usual. Burnett then got annoyed they weren't paying attention so he unplugs the TV which bothers them and then she then says, "boys we have a guest over show some manners" they turn their heads and became surprised and overjoyed to see Ash and Pikachu again so much so that they leaped up and embraced them in huge strong bearhug "I missed all of you so much" they all so happy to see him again however due to Melmetal's weight Ash was about to collapse "hey your kinda heavy you know". Kukui and Burnett were pleased to see everyone so happy to be reunited with their old trainer and Kukui even states "now there's a blast burn of welcome wishes" and Burnett remembers "speaking of welcomes Mallow called ahead saying there's a welcome home party at the Pokémon School for you" hearing this made Ash excited "I can't wait I am so there".
Ash, Pikachu and the Alolan Pokémon leave and then to the school "alright see you later" and the professors reply, "come back soon".
As they make their way to the school they hear a familiar weird robotic voice "Ash Pikachu" they then look up and see none other than Rotom-Dex "Rotom so good to see you" Ash says and then catches Rotom his hands and then Rotom asks "I missed you so much how have you been doing" Ash replies, "awesome so where's everyone else" Rotom replies "they're all at the school waiting for you come on let's not keep them waiting". They make their way along the path until they finally reach the Pokémon School and Ash took in the air and really couldn't belive he was back especially all the memories he made here.
Eventually Ash made his way back to the classroom and was instantly greeted by his old friends Kiawe, Mallow, Sophocles and Lana "Alola Ash" Ash was so excited to see his friends again and even noticed all the food Mallow left for him "Alola everyone", the Pokémon were also happy to see Ash and Pikachu so much so that they all ran up and hugged Pikachu hard and practically dog piled on him. Now that everyone was here Mallow announced "okay everyone is here so now it's welcome home party time" they all grabbed a mug and cheered to pint of pinap juice, drinking this made Ash remember how good the food was "man I had almost forgotten how delicious your cooking was" he then also noticed how apart from who Melmetal was devouring a steel pipe all the Pokémon were also enjoying their food too "even the Pokémon love it too" and Mallow retorted "well as you know it has always been my dream to help both people and Pokémon, oh yeah Sophocles tell him about how you're going back to Mossdeep City in Hoenn" Sophocles answers "well we're researching the connection between space and Pokémon". While eating Sophocles also notices Ash's phone in his pocket "uhm hey Ash what exactly is that in your pocket is a new kind of Rotom-Dex" and Ash replies "actually it's a Rotom-Phone" they were all so amazed by it apart from Rotom-Dex and Lana asks, "how does it work" in which Ash holds it up to Rotom-Dex "Rotom (Pokedex Form) an upgrade of the Pokedex however that is it's only function unlike the Rotom-Phone which has much more features" hearing this Rotom becomes very angry "HOW DARE YOU THAT IS SO RUDE I ALSO HAVE A CAMERA AND RECORDING FEATURE TOO AND I BET YOU CAN'T DO THOSE" but the phone replies "actually the Rotom-Phone can along with providing filters for photos, make phone calls from around the world, has a built in GPS, able to browse the internet, scan landmarks, keep track of what Pokémon you have caught and so much more" hearing this made Rotom go ballistic and start screaming in frustration, then Kiawe comments "man I gotta get me one of those it can make receiving orders a lot easier" and the others agree thy should also get phones while Rotom Dex himself felt like he was inferior.
While almost finished eating Lana remembered something she wanted to show everyone "Alola surprise it just came in today a letter from Lillie" everyone became surprised and happy to hear this "a letter from Lillie cool" Ash says and Mallow asks, "what does it say" Lana then opens and reads it "Dear friends I hope your all well and my brother, mother and I are feeling great, every day we get more data from Magearna and more data we collect the closer we are to finding my father, currently we are in the Galar Region so to be approaching the Crown Tundra in hopes father is there and once we find him we'll return straight home, I hope to see you all soon even Ash love Lillie". After hearing about how well Lillie is doing everyone was happy knowing her family would be whole again and that she'd return soon, also hearing about the Galar Region Kiawe then asked Ash "so Ash Kukui told us your battling in the World Coronation Series a worldwide event" Ash replies "that's right" Mallow adds on "you know not a lot of people from Alola are competing so the fact that your champion kinda means your honouring us all" hearing this made Ash feel great like the whole region was cheering for him, Kiawe then butted in saying "you Ash when you left you promised we'd have that battle for when you return" and Ash replies "if it's a battle you want it's a battle you'll get".
They all go outside to the battlefield where Ash and Kiawe take their places with Pikachu and Turtanator "you ready Kiawe" Ash confidently says, "I've been waiting for this day for a long time I'm more than ready" Kiawe states even more confidently. Turtanator starts the battle off with a Dragon Tail but Pikachu dodges it and retaliates using Iron Tail which lands a direct hit and almost knocks Truncator off balance. Kiawe admired Ash's skill and thought take the battle up a notch "Ash that's a pretty good move but let's make this interesting so you thing what I'm thinking" Kiawe holds out his Z-Ring with his Firium-Z "you better belive it" Ash holds out his Z-Ring with his special one of a kind Pikashunium-Z, them and their Pokémon ready themselves for the power they were about to unleash so Kiawe says "THE ZENIETH OF MY MIND OF BODY AND SPIRIT LIKE THE GREAT MOUNTAIN OF AKALA BECOME A RAGING FIRE AND BURN, USE INFRNO OVERDRIVE" meanwhile Ash throws his hat to Pikachu and says "MUCH BIGGER THAN A THUNDERBOLT HERE 10,000,000 VOLT THUNDERBOLT YEAH THIS IS MUCH BIGGER, PIKACHU USE 10,000,000 VOLT THUNDERBOLT", as both z moves fire activated they collided and caused a great and huge explosion making it unable to see anything. When the smoke cleared it had revealed that Turtanator had gone down with Pikachu standing on top of him and running back to Ash and jumping in his arms "we did it buddy" Kiawe then returned Turtanator back into its poke ball "thanks Turtanator you rest up now", Kiawe and Ash walk up to each other and shake hands "thanks for giving that battle you promised Ash" Kiawe gratefully says "and thank you for giving me an Alolan welcome back".
The next day everyone came to the airport to see Ash off "I'm really gonna miss you guys, but I'll be back" Ash says and Lana states, "once Lillie comes back you better", Ash then notices his Alolan Pokémon were all feeling sad and just sat on the floor look glum "hey what's wrong" he asks but Sophocles suggests "I think they're sad you're leaving them again" Mallow adds on "I don't think they want to be away from you again". Ash goes to comfort them but then Kukui and Burnet suggests something that change everything "you know they're haven't much ultra-wormhole sightings recently" Ash becomes confused about what they're saying "what exactly are you saying" Kukui then answers "maybe they should go with back to Kanto" Ash then asks them "Rowlet, Lycanroc, Incineroar, Melmetal would you guys like to come with me and Pikachu" out of pure excitement the four of them immediately jumped right on top of Ash in happiness that they were going back home with him.
Later at night long after Ash went back home Kukui and Burnett holding Lei were sitting on the porch admiring the sunset "it nice having our boy home again" Kukui says and Burnett replies, "yet our family just got smaller again" Kukui retorts "yeah but at least we can watch what we want on TV again and have video gamers hogging the TV". As they calmly observed the sun set Lei sees something in the sky and points to it "what is it sweetie" Burnett asks and then notices a glowing crack in the sky and something trying to break through it "could it be an ultra-wormhole" Burnett asks, "wait a minute that looks familiar" Kukui stated in which they saw a large white spike break through it. As the whole got bigger and bigger something purple broke out and then rapidly broke through and descended in front of them which put a smile on their faces, because what came out was none other than Naganadel who was extremely happy to see them.
So much has happened for hero's return to Alola but I have the feeling he'll be returning once again very soon, and who knows who else he'll reunite with as the journey continues.
