Now that the fight for Horizon is over, it's time for everyone mission of recruitment to continue.
"This is Lawson" Miranda said into her com as she, Jacob, Garrus, Mordin and Grunt stood around her "we're at the L.Z and awaiting extraction"
"Copy that Executive Lawson" the voice of the shuttle pilot said back through the com "en-route, ETA forty-five seconds" he said.
"Copy that" she said before hanging up the connection and turning around the face the others "it'll be here within the minute" she informed.
"Do we have to leave so soon?" Grunt asked with a small whine in his voice "it was so much fun and there's still enemies to fight. So many we can kill" he added with a growl as he listened to the weapons being fired around proto command center they were just using, of course Clark helped a lot, but he didn't take care of all of them. There were still stragglers spread out around the entire colony but when they all looked up and saw the hundreds of transports, dropships and fighters swarming the city, made it a lot easier to not feel guilty about leaving.
"We have too" she said coldly to the Krogan "the Alliance third fleet is already sending its forces. We need to leave before the problem can get any worse"
"what's the reason we can't stay for this again?" Garrus added as he placed his sniper on his back "seems like this would be the best time to get the alliance in on the plan" he argued.
"Clark's telling us to leave, that's all the reason we need" she added professionally.
"of course, have to follow captain's orders" Mordin added as he reached up and stroked his chin "still though, shame to leave so soon. Would have liked to run samples of Collector tissue" he added.
"Where do you think you're going?" a new voice said to the group. Miranda turned and raised an eyebrow at the sight of Williams moving towards them with her rifle held close "the Alliance is going to have questions for you" she started.
"I'm sure they do" Miranda said with an unconcerned voice "but it doesn't matter, we have our orders. We're leaving" she finished just as the shuttle made itself visible.
"Sorry Williams" Garrus added "it was great to see you again but after seeing what he just did to that ship. I think staying close to Clark may be for the best" he argued calmly as the door to the shuttle opened and the crew started to slowly make their way inside.
Before Ashely could protest their actions, about to do something knew she would definitely regret a thud sound hit her ears. Herself and the others all turned to see a well-built man with dark hair, jeans and a long back trench coat. In his arms was a woman she didn't recognize with her face covered by a dark hood "that was fun" the woman said before she hopped off his arms and started to walk towards the shuttle.
"I'm glad you enjoyed yourself" the man said as he walked forward ignoring Ashely who just stood there frozen, she didn't know what to say to him.
This was Superman, the Man of Steel. What the hell should she say to him? She asked herself "Hey!" she yelled walking forward "you can't just leave" she said, though she knew that was a crappy thing to say but when in doubt she just defaulted to her military outlook.
Superman turned to look at her and she couldn't help but feel incredibly small in the face of him "who are you?" he asked calmly.
"Ashley Williams" she said, deciding not to include the rank. Personally, she doubted he would care.
Clark tilted his head to the side as if deep in thought, being perfectly honest Ashely started to feel uncomfortable, having no idea what was going to happen next. What she did not expect was for Superman to simply walk past her as if she didn't exist. When he stepped on the rest of the group followed behind him, soon enough they were all ready to go with Ashely only standing their awkwardly not knowing what to do next. It's not as if she could order them to stay "We're going after the Reapers" Superman announced as he stood on the edge of inside of the ship. Just where the door would close "if you want to fight them come with us or stay here and wait for them" he added with a gesture to the approaching alliance ships that were starting to dip below the clouds.
The offer caught her completely off guard, he was giving her a chance to go with them, just like that? She was about to start walking forward but stopped when she remembered her colossal loyalty to the alliance. Opening her mouth to politely decline the offer, he beat her to it "don't worry, you'll be able to speak with the Alliance as much as you want" he added "you tell them where you are and they'll probably be happy to have you there"
Ashely couldn't help but tilt her head slightly at the offer, he wasn't wrong. If she could get a position beside Superman, the Alliance wouldn't dare try and take her away from it but she would have to officially abandon her post 'could I do that?' she asked herself.
"Williams" Garrus said as his head peaked out over Clark's shoulder "don't over think this, just get in" he said. Weirdly that seemed to be all it took to get her moving, with a small jog she jumped onto the shuttle before the door closed behind her "it's gonna be fun working together again, just like old times" he added.
Ashely gave him a small smile before her eyes landed on Clark as he stood calmly in front of the window, his arms crossed as he watched the colony get smaller and smaller "are you sure this is a good idea?" the Lawson woman standing next to him asked in a hushed tone, but it was still enough for her to hear "this is going to complicate things" she added.
Que the scowl that appeared on her face at the fact this Cerberus slut was talking about her like that as if she weren't here "In no way that matters" Clark said back calmly "she'll be beneficial in the long run"
"she can also hear you, you know" Ashely said allowed while everyone else just seemed to sit back and watch what was happening.
"of course, I do" Clark added still not turning his back to face her.
The familiar backdrop of the red supergiant star entered Clark's line of sight as the hologram around him came into focus. He placed his hands into his jean's pockets as Clark saw TIM take another puff of his cigarette "Kent, I have to admit. Your plan worked perfectly" the leader of Cerebrus admitted.
"so it would seem" Clark agreed "have you got your spies going through the Collector ship?" he asked.
TIM not even bothering to deny that he has spies in the Alliance shook his head "Not yet, from what I can tell the Alliance his still trying to contain the situation, they were expecting us. Not a very rare alien ship, it will take a couple of days before they start sending the research teams in. I'll have my own forces push in with them then, hopefully we'll find out a way to get past the Omega four relay" he explained.
Clark gave him a shrug in return "I wouldn't worry about the Omega four Raley too much, I'll deal with that myself" he added back "what I wanted to ask was that if you have any more dossiers for me to make use of?" he asked.
TIM took another puff of before responding "yes, I have all the other dossiers ready for you, but I have to admit, this was unexpected. I've never seen you so enthusiastic before, what's brought about this sudden change?" he asked.
Clark crossed his arms when he decided to answer the question "it seems you were right as well" he admitted. TIM raised an eyebrow and tilted his head at the statement "It seems the Reapers are a real threat after all"
"oh" TIM tried to keep his calm expression but Clark could see the cracks in his façade "you seemed suspicious against the Reapers existence the last time we spoke. Did the Collectors have something that change your mind?" he asked calmly but inwardly he was getting worried, if the Collectors had something that proved the Reapers existence to Superman then it was most likely some new Reaper tech. He would need to warn his people about it so they could be prepared against any indoctrination attempts.
"I suppose you could say that, the most simplistic way I can describe it was that I saw one of the Collector soldiers get possessed by a Reaper" Clark turned around and stood sideways as he looked deep in thought "we had a very interesting conversation which has given me incentive to get more involved in galactic defense"
"well I won't complain about you finally accepting the truth, I take it your plan has changed now because of it?" he asked "especially given your newest crew mate" he said.
"wow, EDI didn't waste any time in telling you about Williams did she" Clark retorted.
"EDI?" TIM said back surprised, he would assume that Kent would think Miranda would be the one responsible for him knowing about Williams being on board his ship.
"Lawsons good, she's probably writing up the report right now but even she couldn't type all this up that quickly. So EDI must have. I'll see you soon TIM, remember to watch out for indoctrination when it comes to the Collector tech" without a word he turned and left the conference room.
When the doors closed behind him and he stood in the hallways between the Armory and the lab, thinking about what he should do next. He should head to the CIC and let everyone know what's going the happen next but they would figure it out themselves "EDI, tell Miranda she can decide who we go after next. I need every file on the Reapers that we have, I want to know everything" he said before turning and making his way towards the captains' quarters.
"Understood captain" EDI's voice drifted through the hallway.
"Let me see if I understand this correctly Lieutenant" the voice of admiral Hackett drifted through the communicator as Ashely stood to attention as she just finished explaining the situation she was now in "you're on that Cerberus ship right now?" he asked.
"yes sir, I was offered a chance to come aboard and work with them. I thought it would be best that I'm here, at least this way I can keep an eye on the situation" she explained in a professional tone.
"Is it true?" he asked suddenly "there have been a lot of rumours going throughout the galaxy lately about a certain hero returning to the fold and from what the witnesses on Horizon are saying, those rumours are being proven to be true. So, is it? Is Superman there?" he asked.
Ashely looked down as she thought about what to say "yes sir, I don't know how or why but it's true. He's back" she confirmed.
"by god" he muttered to himself "I never would have thought..." he started before stopping.
"I know sir, it's a lot to take in" she added "I'm just glad he was there"
"No doubt about that" Hackett agreed "Williams, your mission on Horizon is no longer a priority. As far as I'm concerned you did the right thing going with them"
"sir" Ashely interrupted "this is a Cerberus ship" needless to say she wanted to get off this ship as quickly as she could.
"it doesn't matter Williams" Hackett quickly said back "Superman is on that ship and we need to know what he's doing. He's the most powerful being any species in the galaxy have ever encountered, he's been MIA for over a hundred years and now he's making waves. We need to know what he's doing?" he repeated.
"from what Garrus has told me, he's looking into the Reapers" she informed.
It would be hard not to notice the hardening of Hackett's eyes "the Reapers" he said though it would most likely be to himself "the council have tried hard to burry everything Shepard did and uncovered" he crossed his arms and pressed a hand to his chin in thought "if they knew that Kent was working on something to do with the Reapers. That might be the kick in the teeth they need"
"Sir?" Ashely said tilting her head to the side.
"Superman is one of the most sought out people in the galaxy" he informed "every government was already looking for him, or his body to me more accrete due to us never having any true evidence he was still alive. I imagine the Salarian's would go to war if it meant just getting some of his DNA, let alone being able to talk to him. If Superman has something on the Reapers, the council won't be able to turn it away without some serous back lash" he reasoned.
"I understand sir" she nodded.
"Williams, you're to stay on that ship and help Superman however he needs it. If he's looking for the Reapers, we need to see whatever proof he finds" he ordered.
"Understood sir. I'll keep you updated on the situation" she said back with a salute.
"See to it. Hackett out" the older admiral said before the connection was cut.
Ashely took a moment to collect herself before she had to step back before she would have been trapped in the middle of the table as the lights in the conference room came back on. Before she could think of what it was, she should do next, the door behind her opened and a small smile made its way onto her face before as she saw Garrus waiting for her "so, you ready for the tour?" he asked.
"as I'll ever be" she agreed before turning to walk towards her.
As Clark was standing in his Cabin, to someone else, they would only see him just standing there looking at the empty aquarium but to him, a lot more was happening. Within Clarks mind he was going over a thousand different calculations, assumptions, possibilities and everything in between. Needless to say his conversation with the Collector before it died, or more accurately the Reaper who was talking through it was all the information Clark needed for him to be convinced that the Reapers where real.
Despite what his outside appearance may cause others to think, Clark was deeply concerned about the Reapers being real. The idea alone was terrifying, turning his head Clark walked up to his computer and looked at the screen that showed the files Cerberus had on the Reapers, though it was mostly just a re-telling of what Shepard had found out during his time on the hunt for Seran.
'if the Reapers have been doing this for millions of years, every fifty thousand years. God, that was twenty different cycles of extinction for every million, how many more depends on many millions they've been doing this for' he thought to himself as he tried to work this all out 'they'd need thousands of ships the size of Sovereign in order to invade the whole galaxy'
He was so deep in thought that he didn't notice the door open "Sir" the voice of Miranda spoke as she made her way in the cabin, turning her head she saw him but stopped mid step when she did "why are you shirtless?" she asked.
Clark gave her a small shrug "feeling air on my skin is better than fabric" he explained "cloth feels like sandpaper if I focus to much on it" he added.
Miranda didn't say anything for a moment, but she did move closer and stood next to him and looked at the files "you seem very enthusiastic about this all of a sudden" she said.
Clark turned to look at her before turning forward again, his eyes landing on the small collection of data pads on the table that held all the data on the Reapers, well, all the stuff that had been gathered so far, which wasn't much "well, now I know they're real"
Her head turned sharply to face him "what!?" her voice was sudden and loud which nearly caught herself off guard for saying "what happened? Has EDI found something in the Collector data?" she asked.
"not yet" Clark said as he turned and walked back to the small space in front of his bed.
Miranda was about to ask but before she did, she stopped when Clark raised his hands and started to wave them about as if Clark could see things she couldn't. Well, he could see things she couldn't but this seemed like there was more too it "what are you doing?" she asked.
Clark dropped his arms and turned back to face her "Math, equations, physics, working on some theories. Anyway, it looks like the Reapers are capable of taking over the bodies of the Collectors like Sovereign did to Seran. I spoke to one, there's no other explanation" he added.
Miranda took a moment to take a breath, one of her main objectives for this mission was to convince Clark of the Reapers existence and after seeing what he could do with her own eyes. It made her feel a lot better knowing that he was here "I wanted to let you know that, we're on our way to the planet of Haestrom. Once we get there, we need to find Tali'Zorah" she said.
"Tali'Zorah?" Clark asked.
"I've been thinking about what you've said, if we can get the Quarian fleet on board in this fight. It would be a major win" she reasoned.
Clark nodded "it would, but you know what they'll want in return" he said back.
Miranda nodded, course she knew what the Quarians would want. The same thing they always want, help for retaking the home world "is that something you'd help them with?" she asked.
"of course not" Clark said back quickly "they lost the world fair and square cause their own creations turned on them. It's not my place to decide who deserves an entire planet" he explained.
"but if that's what they demand in exchange for their help, what are you going to give them?" she asked calmly trying to ignore him as Clark turned around and started to once again mess with his hands, waving them through the air as if he was swatting away invisible flies.
"I'm not going to give them anything" Clark insisted "at best what I could do is help them get past their irrational hatred for AI. Maybe help them find a planet they can use for colonization" he shrugged "either way, they'll need to get involved regardless of what they want. If they go at it on their own, they'll be wiped out faster than anyone else" he added before closing his eyes and sighing "that won't work" he said as he reached brought his hands together as if he caught a fly in-between them "this is going to take longer than I would like" he added before turning around and moving to take a seat on the couch.
"What were you trying to do?" she asked moving to take a seat next to him not asking if she could sit down.
Clark took another breath before turning to face her "I'm trying to figure out the best way to fight off the Reapers without getting directly involved. It doesn't look too good" he said.
"Are you still not getting directly involved, even though you're only a few days away from being exposed regardless?" she asked confused, Miranda could understand not wanting to step back into the limelight but even now after he already was?
"Miranda, I'm not getting involved. What I've done so far is nothing more than sating my own curiosity. I'll help when there's someone right there who needs it, but I am not going to fight a galaxy wide invasion force" he spoke calmly but there was a certain edge to his voice.
"I'm not saying you charge forward on the front lines ending the fight before it even starts" she stressed "but there is so much you could do for everyone. You're knowledge, you're technology. Am I correct in assuming you could end the galaxy wide Ezzo dependents?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I could" he nodded "but I won't. Don't get me wrong" he added when he saw that she was about to interrupt "it's not that I don't want to help people but if I start going around giving everyone technology they're not ready for, it will be chaos" he reasoned "can you really tell me that if I gave humanity a twenty-kilometre dreadnought that's main weapon could rip the Citadel apart, that they wouldn't abuse that strength?"
It was a clear rhetorical question but even if it wasn't Miranda couldn't think of a good response "I didn't say you had to give everything, but couldn't you at least provide an advantage against the Reapers?" she asked.
Clark titled his head at her "that's some real loyalty you have to Cerberus" he spoke calmly "I have to ask what is it that earned them that?" he couldn't help but ask.
Miranda didn't speak for a moment, not doubt trying to figure out if this was something she wanted to share but after a few moments she started to speak "I suppose you've earned the right to know" she started "do you remember when we talked about my genetic altering?" she asked knowing full well that there was no way he was going to forget "well, that wasn't my choice. My father... created me" Clark was going to interrupt but he then realized that based on her body language that this was a sensitive topic for her "he's a very influential man and extremely controlling. He didn't want a daughter... he wanted a dynasty" she leaned back against the couch and crossed her arms "I ran away as soon as I was old and brave enough. I went to Cerberus because I knew they could protect me"
Clark titled his head "I take it that based on your tone your relationship still isn't great, must have parted on bad terms"
Miranda frowned "shots were fired" that seemed to be enough for that topic to end.
"A lot of people run away from home, that doesn't mean they run to a supremacist's group. Why Cerberus?" he asked.
"Because it wasn't just a matter of leaving" she explained turning her body to face her "my father invested a great deal into his dynasty. I couldn't just leave and forget about him... he would continue to pursue his investments" it wasn't hard to her the scorn in her voice.
"And I'm sure Cerberus makes full use of your enhanced abilities?" Clark asked.
Miranda nodded quickly "of course, Cerberus fully endorses anything that advances the cause of humanity, genetic alteration included" there was a small smile on her face as she spoke about it "but unlike my father and his own selfish reason, Cerberus and the Illusive Man believe in a greater good" she explained "they see the bigger picture, when I'm here with them, I feel that I have real purpose here. Something I've started to think you're lacking" the casual tone of that comment caught Clark off guard.
"What?" he asked quickly as his frowned in confusion.
"purpose" she repeated calmly not putting on any tact "a goal, an objective, something to believe in. Based on everything I've seen; you don't have that"
Clark was quite as he thought about her words "you're not necessarily wrong per say. The difference between your goals and mine is that yours are something you've spent most of your life trying to achieve. A lifetime goal" he specified "I haven't had one of those since my wife died, all this time it's been short term. Solving the impossible questions, exploring the unknown regions of space, re-discovering an ancient race of killer robots" he added with a casual note which seemed to lighten the mood "you are right, I don't have purpose in the same way you do. It's pretty hard too when your lifespan is such an unknown" he tried to explain but this wasn't an easy topic "but it seems like your purposes, your goals aren't really your own. I can't help but think you're talking about yourself like you're a tool to be used. by your father, by Cerberus" he continued before she could ask more questions about himself.
She tilted her head and gave him a "hhhmm, maybe. But I don't necessarily have a problem with that. I like to know where I fit the world, or galaxy in this case. It helps me find meaning in how I was created"
Clark had to admit, when he could tell she was telling the truth he was actually starting to admire this woman "you are who you are. There's nothing wrong with wanting to do something just because you enjoy it, you don't need to make excuses"
"that's easy for you to say" she said back with a small scoff "we've both been engineered for greatness Clark..." she started.
"No, see that's just a miscomputation" Clark corrected while interrupting with small shake of the head "you can't just make greatness. True greatness comes from sprit and personality, doesn't matter if they have power, skill or abilities"
She looked him in the eye before getting a very small smile "that's kind of you to say, I'm not sure I believe it but thanks for saying it"
He nodded back before returning a real smile before standing back up "it was nice talking to you Miranda but if you'll excuse me, I need to continue this research. Talk again later?" he asked as he raised his hands and started to wave them around the room again as if touching invisible screens.
"sure" Miranda nodded as she stood up "Talk later" she finished before turning to leave.
"Ok, let me just see if I understand this right" Ashely said as she placed her tray on the table as she lowered down opposite Garrus, the only one here she trusted. Normally she would include Doctor Chakwas in that but now that she willingly left the Alliance, for Cerberus? No, she didn't think she could trust that "You're on Omega, trying to deal with all the gangs. You're in trouble then Superman shows up and gets you out"
"yes" Garrus said simply with a nod before taking a drink and trying not to smile at the familiar situation.
"And he's trying to prove the Reapers exist?" she asked hoping that would be the case "and when he does or have proof that they do, instead of going to the council like Shepard did, he's looking for a very select group of people which will allow him to bypass the council and appear directly to the governments leaders" she listed wanting to make sure she's understanding this.
"yes" he nodded "though I don't think he believes they exist, at least not yet" he informed "apparently, he's a scholar of some sort, from what he's told me he's only doing this because he's fascinated by the idea of them being real"
"fascinated?" Ashely repeated sounding confused "not what I would have thought Superman would think when learning about them" she said.
Garrus couldn't do anything apart from give a small shrug "well, I think it's safe to say he's not the same person he used to be" he added.
Ashely let out a small sigh "I know, it's stupid to think he would" she let out a chuckle before taking a bite of her food "you know, I used to have a poster of him in my room when I was a kid. I had such a crush on him" she admitted.
Before Garrus could laugh at the confession another voice interrupted them "you are not alone in that"
Ashley looked over her shoulder to see a cheerly woman with orange hair walk over a sit next to her "I think every woman has had a crush on him at some point" she reached up and offered her hand "Gunnery Chief Williams, I'm yeoman Kelly Chambers, it's good to meet you I've heard some great things" she introduced herself.
Ashely looked at the offered hand, she was about to look away wanting nothing to do with Cerberus but remembered her mission, she needed to stay on this ship, she couldn't afford to get kicked out "it's good to meet you" she said before shaking the hand.
When she did, the yeoman tilted her head at her for a moment "interesting" she muttered before turning back to Garrus "are you alright Garrus? It sounded pretty intense down there" she asked with a concerned voice.
"I'm fine thank you" he quickly dismissed "but you don't need to worry about me though, at least not when Clarks around to knock massive ships out of the sky" he said taking another bite of his food.
The sudden turn in conversation going back to Clark flashed Ashely back into action "I was there and I still can't believe it was just that easy for him. At least I assume it was easy, it looked easy. I don't imagine it would... hurt?" she said hesitantly "wait, would it hurt?" she couldn't help but ask allowed.
Kelly opened her mouth to speak but stopped when she thought about the question "err..." she said allowed "well, it is thousands of degrees. It must be in order to go through the Collector ship that quickly" she tried to rationalize the thinking process she had.
"but at the same time, he can just walk in the vacuum of space without any trouble" Garrus continued "I'm just going to assume it doesn't hurt until he tells me otherwise"
"that makes sense" Kelly nodded along.
"yep" the Alliance solider agreed.
Before someone could start up the conversation again. The sound of a door opening hit their ears, Ashely glanced over her shoulder and saw that the door to the medical wing open and the large Krogan walked out "sorry Grunt but I'm a medical doctor" Chakwas said and wasn't that just a kick in the crotch Ashely needed, to see the medic from the first Normandy here and having joined Cerberus, along with Joker. She didn't want to think about what John would have said if he were still here "whatever you're feeling seems to be mental, not something I can help you with"
"but I'm not healthy" Grunt argued "it's like a noise in the back of my head, I just want to kill something. With my hands" he spoke in a more growling tone.
"Sorry but as far as I'm concerned, you're the picture of health" Chakwas said back "perhaps you would have better look speaking to Doctor Solus or maybe even Clark. He seems to be the smartest person here"
Grunt kept quiet for a moment thinking about what was said "yes, the battle master is wise. He should be able to help me" he turned without another word and left.
"Wonder what's going on with him" Kelly said as they all turned back to their food, that was until someone else joined them "hey Solus" she smiled as the Salarian seemed to be glued to the tablet as he sat down.
"what is it Doc?" Garrus asked.
Solus shook his head slightly before looking back up "apologies, distracted. Seems the mission is about to become more public" he announced.
"What do you mean?" Ashely asked "I'm Ashely Will..." she started.
"Williams, Gunnery Chief, formally of the 212th, assigned to Normandy after attack on Eden Prime. Proved extremely helpful during hunt for Seran, became close comrades with other members of Normandy crew, according to rumours even becoming romantically involved with the late Commander Shepard" Solus listed interrupted Ashely as she was about to introduce herself.
"Luckly girl" Kelly muttered under her breath as she took another drink.
"apologies" Solus said "did not mean to interrupted, thoughts preoccupied. I'm Mordin Solus, formally STG" he introduced.
Before the alliance soldier could ask how he knew so much about her, Garrus beat her to it "and what has your thoughts so preoccupied?" he asked.
"The captain" Solus said as he placed the tablet down on the "the secret is out" he announced before he tapped a button on the screen.
"C-sec are on the scene trying to control the massive crowd that have gathered outside the Citadel tower"
"we've been telling you all about him since we arrived, we didn't lie about shit, you just didn't believe us"
"Council reinforcements are inbound to the Horizon colony, the stage area for the recent attack by what reports state are the Collectors"
"Forget the Collectors, it was him. He's back!"
"The council have yet to issue a statement on the reports and video footage of the Superman"
"We have rumours coming in from Omega about the possible sighting"
"The alliance has stated that they are as surprised by his return as the rest of the council"
"We need to find him"
"The god has return"
"We can't force him to do anything, we need to convince him"
"He can save us"
The words from dozens of different people spoke through the tablet, when they did, it seems everyone in the room came closer to hear it better "we knew it was only a matter of time, though this is quicker then predicted" a new voice spoke. Everyone turned to see the executive officer walk forward until she was in front of the table "we all know that Clark wants to keep to himself as much as possible, as his crew we are going to help with that" it seemed that everyone agreed and started to nod at the statement "that being said we still have a mission to complete. We're heading to a planet called Haestrom. There we're looking for a Quarian that you two know" she nodded at Ashely and Garrus "Tali'Zorah"
"we're going after Tali?" Garrus asked with a surprised tone.
"Why?" Ashely asked. Sure, Tali had proven herself, but she didn't fit in with the criteria Garrus just gave her about people with government influence. At least not what she was told.
"The Quarians have the largest fleet in galactic history, along with the most detailed and accurate star maps" Miranda explained "if we can convince them of the danger the Reapers pose, it would be a huge advantage" she explained.
"How does Clark plan to do that?" Garrus asked.
"He said a few things, but I think he's going to wait until we're talking to them before deciding on anything" the air around the room turned back to normal as the conversation drifted away from the news of Clarks return spreading galaxy wide "Garrus, I'd like you to take Williams and another person down to Heastrom and get Tali out, do what you can to convince her that we need her here"
Garrus was quite for a moment before speaking "sure, it shouldn't be too hard. Might have to use her engineering curiosity to convince her to come on board, when she knows Clark is here..." he listed.
"that was my thought as well, you have twelve hours to get ready" she instructed before turning to leave.
Well guys, the news is out. We knew it would take to long for people to catch on that Superman came back and of course people would be freaking out.
And of course the alliance would want one of their own on the Normandy if Superman was there, so Ashely goes with them.
Let me know what you thought in the reviews down below.
