Lily White- Into Thin Air D11F
Right away I could tell we were inside. Above me in the tunnel, I could see the white of a roof, lit by harsh bluish light. As my eyes came level with the surface I saw the off-white linoleum floor and the stiff corporate-looking furnishings of an office building. I wasn't sure what kind of building it was. It had a cafeteria, since we were in it. The shiny lacquered tables were covered in weapons and supplies. It must have been a place for very rich people, judging by how clean and white it was. I noticed a sign overhead and my stomach sank as I reflexively read it. In Eleven this place would have been a leaky single room stuck on the side of some government building. We were in a hospital, and I'd never known they could look like this.

I'd never liked hospitals. Seriously, who did? They were where people went to die. At least this one was nicer than I was used to. In between the platforms was the Cornucopia, spread across a cafeteria. Behind me there was a lounge with couches and some magazines on end tables. To my left there was a double staircase leading to the next floor, which had balconies around the open cafeteria. All around me there were hallways leading every which way.

Christobal was maybe fifteen platforms to my right. He looked out at one of the hallways, pleading with me not to go into the Bloodbath. I looked away guiltily. This was what I was trained for. If I didn't use what I knew, we didn't have a chance.

There were probably weapons on the tables. I wasn't looking, since I was fixated on the bottles. Bottles on the tables. Bottles scattered on the floor. At this distance I couldn't read the labels, but it would come soon enough. My fingers curled at my side as I imagined grabbing handfuls of bottles, reading all those labels, finding out what chemicals and pills I had at my disposal. This was the Arena for me.

Kerry Selmosa- We All Fall Down D5M
I couldn't look away from it. In between the bows and daggers, there was a hypodermic needle glittering on one of the tables. There were others, too, I could see in my peripherals. It was so big- bigger than most I'd seen when I got shots or anything like that. I kept seeing it in my mind, even though I was trying to think of something else. I kept imagining someone killing someone with that needle. It was too horrible to think about, but I knew it was about to be true.

The Careers looked between the platforms, finding their allies and enemies. Margo was beside me and we both knew what we'd do when the gong sounded. Whoever took the Cornucopia had sole access to the cafeteria, which was the only sure supply of food in the Arena. We needed to buddy up and make sure the "nice" Careers, as so many were calling them, didn't get the better of us. We had the numbers and we needed to keep it that way.

Jessie was across the ring from us. Chrome was ten or so platforms to my left and Fable was a dozen platforms past her. I didn't look for Elise and Arno. If they could prove they could make it through the Bloodbath, maybe I'd start respecting them. Far more important, our Bloodbath had just become a rescue mission. Chrome wouldn't leave Jessie. Neither would Fable. If I wanted to stay in this alliance, I had to pretend I cared, too. I ran the numbers and made my decision. Three people was a risky move. We wouldn't be attacked, since the two Career packs would be focusing on each other. I'd help, then. If we got out of here with Jessie we'd have our numbers and I'd get loyalty points. I just hoped she was worth it.

Gaius McLellan- No Way Down D12M
I was right next to Theo. I wouldn't have recognized him if I hadn't looked closely. There was no trace of his normal goofy ease. He was as still as death except his eyes darting around the room. He looked for all the world like a general overlooking a battleground. I'd known my allies would all react to danger differently. I hadn't expected it would be Theo who would switch gears like that. I was glad he was next to me.

Yes, I'm next to Tabitha! Of course it was nice being next to an ally, but I was especially happy it was her. Tabitha was the mascot of our alliance. Everyone wanted her to be safe. If I could get Tabitha out of the Bloodbath, that would really make me one of them. I'd fit in then for sure.

The arrows on the sign overhead pointed every which way.
Radiology- Floor 3
Oncology- Floor 3
Pharmacy- Base Level
Pediatrics- Floor 2
At least three floors, then. Which way to go, though? Up and away from the Careers? Out into the little courtyard behind me, enclosed on all sides by the gigantic round hospital? Or into the Cornucopia to get supplies? Vulpes had tried to convince me I should be one of the ones to go in. I didn't know who he thought he was fooling. I was a loose end to him. The only reason I stayed in the alliance at all was safety in numbers. I wasn't sure that would be the case after the Bloodbath.
There aren't too many Arenas that fit a resurrection theme. I'm really excited for this hospital, though. So many horrible substances lying around! So many places to hide and have drawn-out character moments! So many weird creative weapons! So much blood...
