Authors Notes- Here I am back again after for what seems like forever with yet another chapter to Until You Are No More. Sorry it took me forever. As you can gather by now I don't own Transformers that belongs to Hasbro. I only own the plot. Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter Five.
Chapter Five: Deception.
Who was he? And where was he? And who was the large mechs looming before him? All these questions ran through Jack's confused mind. As the one called Megatron stood before him, his taloned fingers brushing against his cheek. Jack wanted to jerk away, had tried to, but the one, who he assumed was called Megatron gripped his face hard. An hungry look in his blood red optics.
"Who," Jack managed to choke out, his voice cracking, everything hurt. "Who are you?" Megatron's smile seemed to widen.
"I am Lord Megatron." He spoke, still gripping Jack's face. "And you are Jack. One of my loyal Decepticons." Megatron told him.
And now he was even more confused. Why couldn't he remember anything from before? Finally, after what seemed like forever Megatron released him, as the other mech moved closer, a cube of some glowing liquid in his hands. Saying nothing he handed it to Jack.
"Drink."
So, Jack thought, as he looked down at the cube the other mech handed to him. We're called Decepticons, huh? Tentatively he took the cube. He then looked to Megatron, the large, sterling silver Decepticon watching him intensely.
"Why?" Jack spoke, looking from Megatron to the other Decepticon. "Why don't I remember anything?" He asked. As he took a sip from the cube.
A sympathetic look seemed to cross across Megatron's faceplate, only for the briefest moment. Heaving a sigh Megatron moved towards Jack once more.
Megatron was almost unable to keep the smile from his lips as Jack had asked that. Blue optics looking up at him inquisitively. Perhaps Jack losing his memory would be a good thing. How would Optimus and the others react when they found out that he not only turned Jack into one of them, but that Jack had no memories of them at all? Biting back the urge to chuckle Megatron forced himself to heave another sigh, and sat down beside the table Jack had woke up on. And as he did he conjured up the most convincing story he could think of. One where Jack's old partner, Arcee had ambushed him at Optimus Prime's orders, and while poor Jack had done his best to fend the femme off. And had almost succeeded to snuff out her spark, when Optimus had ambushed him.
Megatron had made sure that Jack knew that Optimus and his blood thirsty Autobots were the bad guys. Something he had tried with Optimus back when he had reverted to Orion Pax. He hoped that this time things would go his way. Megatron had high hopes that it would. He wasn't going to Jack get away. As Megatron continued with his story Shockwave watched from his place at the console, or rather listened as he typed on it. Listening as the warlord spun his tall tale, and from what he saw Jack seemed to believe every single word Megatron told him.
Not surprising Lord Megatron was telling him a pretty convincing tale, even Shockwave almost believed him as well.
"Unfortunately when you least expected it, Jack. That traitorous Optimus Prime ambushed you from behind. I did what I could to aid you, but the Autobots got out of the way." Megatron's features softened as he placed a hand on Jack's shoulder. "And I was so worried that you would not make it."
Jack was silent as he looked down at his hands, chewing on his bottom lip before meeting Megatron's gaze once more. "Is that...is that why I don't recall anything?" Jack asked.
Megatron nodded, looking down at him. "Shockwave and several others did all they could to save you. But after countless hours we decided to transfer your mind into a new body, the other was too damaged."
Silence permeated as Megatron watched as Jack seemed to take all this in. "So..." he spoke after a while. "That's what happened to me."
"Indeed." Megatron said, watching as Jack got to his feet, and looked around the room.
Jack's optics settling on a mirror, moving towards it he saw himself. Bright blue optics stared right back at him as he took in his new form, taking in the bulky chassis colored dark purple and gold. Watching as Megatron moved behind him, a faint smile on his lips.
"Do you like it?" He asked placing a hand on his shoulder once again.
"I...guess so..." Jack said, turning to face the Decepticon leader. He had so many questions, and yet, he had no idea where he would start, all the while Megatron watched him. An unreadable expression on his faceplate as he looked Jack over once more.
"There will be plenty of time for questions." Megatron said, seeming to know that Jack was curious. Megatron handed Jack the untouched energon cube the boy had left untouched. "But I have no doubt you are exhausted, I will accompany you to your room." Placing a hand on Jack's shoulder once more, leading him towards the door.
The same, unreadable expression on his faceplate as he looked down at the smaller mech. All the while Shockwave looked on. If Shockwave had been capable of such things such as emotions he would have felt pity for the one called Jack. There was no guarantee the boy would be able to endure what Lord Megatron had planned for the boy, whatever that was planned. Turning away from the door Shockwave continued to log in his report. Typing up and taking notes on what had happened during the test.
While the test didn't go as planned as Jack had ended up losing his memories, the act of transferring a human mind into a Cybertronian body had been a success. Perhaps with a few more tweaks it would be perfect, and when it was Shockwave would ask Lord Megatron for permission to obtain a few more test subjects to try it out on. Nodding to himself, Shockwave saved his work, and left the lab.
Everything was new to him. As Jack walked down the halls of the Nemesis. Megatron by his side, the two of them were quiet as they walked on. Jack looked to Megatron from the corners of his optics, he couldn't put his finger on it, but there was just something off about him. About all of this, it was like he knew Megatron was deceiving him though he couldn't think of why. He had no reason to doubt Megatron. And yet, something told him that he shouldn't trust him indefinitely.
"Are you all right?" Megatron asked, jerking him from his thoughts.
Looking up at him Jack nodded. "I was just lost in thought, is all." Jack told him.
"About what?" Megatron pried.
Forcing a reassuring smile to his faceplate as he continued to look up at Megatron. "It's...nothing." Jack assured him again, just as the two of them stopped in front of a door.
Megatron was silent as he typed something into the console, beside the doors. A beep sounded as the door slid open with a hiss, and the two of them stepped into the darkened room. Jack moved further into the room, and looked around. Noting the large berth off to one corner, and the worn desk with various data files piled atop of it. It was then that Jack soon realized that this room belonged to someone else. Confused Jack turned to Megatron once more. A chill running his spinal strut as he saw the same unreadable look on his faceplate as before.
Megatron looked down at Jack, a slow, hungry smile forming on his lips, as he slowly stalked towards Jack.
"Wh-what's going on?" Jack choked out, optics wide as he backed away from him, until his back hit the desk. Sending several datapads falling to the ground, mouth open as Megatron cornered him.
Oh, he knew he should wait but Megatron couldn't help it as he gripped Jack's chin. Forcing the boy to meet his gaze. He wanted to make Jack his right here, right now. Only to have Jack place a hand on his chestplate, trying to hold him back. Not that Jack ever could ever fight him off. But Megatron was amused none the less. But as much as he wanted to have him he wanted to continue this little game of his. His little story of his. So, heaving a sigh he backed off. His features softening.
"I apologize," Megatron said, backing away and adverting his gaze. "I'm just...I thought I have lost you."
Oh, Primus this was painful. Megatron grimaced.
"I-I'm right here." Jack told him. "You brought me back... Were you and I..." Jack trailed off, uncertain of how to continue. That eerie feeling still lingering.
Megatron was still silent as he looked away once more. His talons fingers trailing across Jack's faceplate, as he looked down at him. Megatron sighed. "I always thought we would, but with this war I tried to keep my feelings for you Optimus caught on. Hence why he attacked you."
Jack was silent as Megatron drew closer. Only to have Jack back away. Megatron huffed as he stepped back. It was time to call it a day, Megatron had several other tasks that needed his attention. And he was certain that there was no way that Jack would be able to slip away while he was gone. Trailing his fingers across Jack's bottom lip, before turning his back to the younger mech.
"I have some tasks I need to see to." Megatron told Jack, looking over his shoulder at him. "You are to remain here until I say otherwise." And with that Megatron left alone.
Jak watched the door slide closed behind Megatron, leaving him alone at long last. Jack released the breath he hadn't realized he had been holding, as he sat down on the berth. This was Megatron's room, there was no doubt about it. Megatron. Jack worried at his bottom lip. He couldn't put his finger on it but that same feeling in the back of his head had told him that Megatron just couldn't be trusted.
Why?
That was another question that Jack couldn't answer, Megatron had been there when he first woke up. Had fixed him up when the Autobots had attacked him, so why the doubt? He's lying to you. A voice whispered in the back of his confused mind. Don't trust him. Jack couldn't sit still. He knew that Megatron had ordered him to stay put, but he just couldn't. Walking towards the door he pushed the button, the doors hissing open.
Looking left and right he saw nothing as he stepped out into the hall. Seeing no one Jack moved down the hall. He needed to know more, he needed to know the truth. However, his thoughts were soon cut short as the sirens began to blare, damn near making Jack out of his armor, as he ducked down one of the halls.
What was happening?
