Chapter 5: looking towards the future.
One year later
"Embry William call! graduating with a degree in chemical engineering."
Cheers were heard as Embry crossed the stage.
"Isabella Marie swan! Graduating with a degree in agriculture with a minor in animal science!"
Once again everyone cheered and clapped.
"We did it, babe!" Isabella cheered as she launched herself into his arms.
"I know! I have something for you" Embry told her.
"What is it?" she asked.
It was then Embry got down on one knee. Some of their friends began cheering.
"Isabella Marie Swan, I love you with everything I am, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?"
"Oh, Embry! Yes! yes, I do!" she gushed.
As Embry slid the ring on her finger, their friends surrounded them with cheers.
This was only the beginning.
….
" Babe, where do you want this box?" Embry shouted.
At the moment, he and Isabella were moving into their brand-new house. It was an old Victorian home, with six bedrooms and three bathrooms. They didn't need the space, but as soon as they saw it, they fell in love. It was hidden in the forest and the few acres behind them could be used for anything they wanted.
Isabella was thinking about starting her own farm. Maybe ducks and goats. She didn't know yet. But in the meantime, she would be the head agriculture vet for the farms in their area.
Embry on the other hand had been recommended for a top paying job, all the way in Canada. So that's where they moved to. A few weeks after graduation, the couple hit the courthouse, got married, and packed their bags for Canada.
"you have to read the labels Em!" she shouted back to him. Embry rolled his eyes in annoyance, and a laugh sounded behind him.
Embry turned to glare at the two men in their doorway. Jason and Kyle, are two of their close friends from college. The two men just so happened to live in Canada. When they heard Embry and Isabella were moving there, they hooked up immediately.
"What so funny?" Embry asks them.
Jason couldn't help but let out a full belly laugh.
"I mean she's not wrong em. You do have to read the labels. That one clearly says kitchen. It's a good thing my wife isn't here. She'd be tearing you to pieces for not reading."
Embry smirked as he looked at Jason.
"oh yeah, how about I call Barb, right now and tell her it was you who broke her most expensive iPod that would have been worth a lot of money around this time."
Jason straightened immediately and shook his head.
"That's what I thought. Now will you two please help me finish this, dinner's on me."
With that said the three friends got to work.
This empty house would soon become a home.
….
Two years later:
A/N: Bella and Embry are now 25 and 26, they both left home at 18 and haven't seen or contacted their family since
"Thanks for having us over Isa!" barb, Jason's wife said as she hugged Bella on the front porch.
"It's no problem, you know I love having everyone over." She told Barb. Bella waved to Sharon and Kyle who were driving away in the distance.
Embry came behind her, the warmth from the house hitting her back.
"you know Jason can't resist seeing us at least once a week." Embry joked as Jason walked past him, leftovers overflowing in his arms.
"you ain't lying." Jason laughed. "well, we better get out of here. Gotta get ready for the family Christmas party. Are you two sure you don't want to join us at our folk's house? They love having you guys over. And no one should be alone for Christmas."
"we're good man, we have some plans of our own. Don't you worry?" Embry assured them.
"alright if you say so."
With that said the friends departed and the calls went back inside. They had plenty of things to do.
