FDolores and FMariano went and sat next to the Dolores and her side of the family. They both smiled at Dolores with a knowing smile. FBruno went and sat with his past self, with a reassuring smile. He leaned over to Bruno and whispered that everything is going to work out. Bruno shyly smiled. Mirabel, in her excitement at seeing another Bruno, ran over to hug FBruno. He smiled down at her and hugged her. She decided to stay there for a while, which caused jealousy with her side of the family, her tia's side of the family, and her abuela. They sort of glared half-heartedly at him. FBruno just kind of smirked victoriously at them, and winked. Bruno just quietly laughed at his families antics. When everyone was settled down the movie continued.
Once Abuela and Isabela had left the frame Mirabel appeared and walked up to Bruno's door. She opened the door, having to push and lean with all of her weight to get it open.
She was surprised when she entered to find a small room with one wall pouring sand. Maybe that was what happened when people left? Maybe their rooms become small and have only a small reminder of who they were and their power?
She walked up to the sand placing her hand under it.
MIRABEL- "Hmm. Casita. Can you turn off the sand?"
The tiles bounced at the threshold showing that Casita couldn't do anything.
MIRABEL- "You can't help in here?"
Everyone, except for FMirabel's husband, FDolores, FMariano, Bruno, and FBruno, looked at FMirabel like she has grown a second head,
"You didn't know that Casita couldn't affect our rooms," Camilo asked, tilting his head in confusion. FMirabel looked at him with a deadpanned face.
"No I didn't, remember I still sleep in the nursery, so no I didn't know that Casita couldn't affect the rooms, since he could affect the nursery," FMirable told them. They all looked at each other with pained expressions. FMirabel saw the looks and quickly explained that she now has a room for herself. They looked at her confused, never hearing of someone getting a room who doesn't have a gift. She told them that it'll be explained in the movie.
MIRABEL- "I'll be fine. I need to do this. For you, for Abuela, maybe a little for me. Find the vision. Save the mirac- Woah. Ugh. Woah. Oh, hello."
MIRABEL- "Lot of stairs, but at least I have a friend... nope he flew away immediately."
Everyone laughed, except for FMirabel. She just pouted, and flushed red in embarrassment. Her husband snickered at her, which caused her to elbow him in the stomach.
MIRABEL- "Alright. Welcome to the family Madrigal. There's so many stairs in the Casa Madrigal. You'd think there'd be another way to get so high 'cause we're magic, but no."
MIRABEL- "Magical, how many stairs fit in here? Bruno, your room is the worst!"
"I know right, so many stupid stairs," both Brunos exclaimed. This caused everyone to snicker and laugh at his antics.
Once Mirabel had reached the top there was a large gap.
MIRABEL- "Come on..."
MIRABEL- "Okay, I can do this."
"Mirabel Madrigal, tell me that you are not about to do what I think you are." Julieta said. FMirabel just whistled innocently, not looking at her mother. Julieta just staired at her harder, hoping to get her to confess what she hoped wasn't true.
MIRABEL- "Oh. Woah! Ha, whoo!"
"Mirabel Madrigal. You could have gotten hurt! And no one would have known!" Her Mamá scolded. FMirabel just winced at the mom voice.
"Sorry, mamá."
"That's a long way down." Luisa said as the stone fell and a loud noise signifying that it had reached the bottom yelled out.
As Mirabel and the newly dubbed Toco entered further into Bruno's room they were both startled by either Toco knocking pottery or Rats jump scaring the two. Finally, Toco had decided that he had had enough.
MIRABEL- "Quitter!"
Everyone, once again, laughed. Well, except for Julieta, who is still glaring at FMirabel. FMirabel felt her stair and stopped laughing and looked down to avoid looking at her mother.
Mirabel entered the new room that had been found.
MIRABEL- "Empty."
The screen cut to a shot behind her as the door slowly closed.
Once the door had slammed a green glow from below Mirabel lit up the room. A bunch of small green dots from under sand shone brightly. Mirabel lent down to investigate digging at the sand. It revealed a shard of green glass.
MIRABEL- "What's hurting the magic?"
Here Abuela sat up straight. She looked uncomfortable, not liking the fact that something was hurting the last gift from Pedro.
Mirabel turned the shard of glass so the straight edge faced the floor. It then cut to Abuela who was sweeping up leftover flower petals from where Isabela had walked. Before long it cut back to Mirabel in Bruno's tower.
She dug again to find another shard connecting the two. Unbeknownst to her cracks were beginning to grow in the room around her. She grabbed for a third shard and connected to the other two as the cracks grew larger and larger.
She tilted the three shards a bit before seeing an image of herself in the glass.
MIRABEL- "Me?"
Abuela frowned, not believing her sweet nieta would hurt her family. It must be something else, I will never believe that Mirabel would hurt us, she loves us too much to do that.
Sand fell on top of the glass in her hands, causing her to look up. When she did she saw the room around her breaking. She frantically dug at the sand, doing her best to go as fast as she could to collect each and every shard.
Everyone was tense, watching the scene in front of them. They so wanted to reach into the screen to save Mirabel. Julieta hugged FMirabel in a vice grip, while Abuela snatched up Mirabel into her arms to make sure she was safe.
She ran to the door and began slamming herself against it trying to pry it open.
Julieta's grip tightened, and FMirabel is finding it hard to breathe. All she could do though was to comfort her mother by patting her arms, that are wrapped around her.
Suddenly the door swung open and Mirabel came flying out in a wave of sand.
Everyone let out sighs of relief.
As she exited the room she bumped into Abuela.
ABUELA- "Where are you coming from in such a hurry?"
MIRABEL- "I'm sorry, I was...
"Here comes the panic speaking," Alonso spoke up, teasing his wife. She glared at him and motioned FDolores to smack the back of his head, which she did. He pouted at her, while everyone laughed.
"Never make a comment like that in a teasing voice or you'll regret it," Agustin told Alonso.
ABUELA- "What is in your hair?
Before Mirabel could give an answer Luisa ran in.
"And here comes the suspicion," FMirabel muttered to herself, making sure to be extra quiet so her mother don't hear.
LUISA- "My gift! I'm losing my gift!
"WHAT," everyone shouted, except for both Dolores, who covered their ears. Everyone looked at them with apologetic looks.
ABUELA- "What?"
LUISA- "Mirabel and I were having this little talk about me carrying too much. So, I tried not to carry so much, but then I realised it was putting me behind. And I was going to let everyone down. And I felt really bad, so I was grabbing all the donkeys, but then when I went to throw the donkeys in the barn they were... heavy!"
"Oh, Luisa, you really need to have a break, honey," Everyone told the girl. Abuela looked at her little strong girl with sorrow in her eyes. She looked down in sadness and anger. Sadness for putting her family through so much torment, and anger at herself for not seeing what she was doing to her family.
ABUELA- "What did you do? What did you say to her?"
"MAMA/ABUELA," everyone exclaimed at her. She once again looked down in anger at herself.
MIRABEL- "Nothing I... I don't..."
ABUELA- "Mirabel. I have to go get the Guzmáns for Isabela's engagement. Stay away from Luisa until I can talk to her. Tonight we can't have any more problems. And whatever you're doing, stop doing it!"
Julieta glared at her mother. She was very angry with her for accusing her daughter with everything that is going wrong. It felt like she was fixing to explode and snap at her mother.
oOoOoOoOo
The screen changed to Mirabel in her room setting out a few pieces of Bruno's vision.
MIRABEL- "Why am I in your vision, Bruno?"
A loud crash of thunder caused Mirabel to jump.
MIRABEL- "Tía! geez."
"Sorry Mirabel," Pepa looked at her sobrina with an apologetic look. FMirabel just shrugged her shoulders in reassurance.
PEPA- "Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean to... shoo, shoo, shoo, shoo! I just wanted to get the last of Toitño's things and then I heard the name we don't speak. Great, now I'm thundering. And that thunder will lead to a drizzle and a drizzle will lead to a sprinkle... Clear skies, clear skies, clear skies."
"Don't speak the name, what does that mean," Pepa asked confused and sad. All the future people looked at each other and said at the same time.
"It's because when I/Bruno left, you were crying at his name, so we had the rule so you wouldn't accidentally drown everyone," everyone nodded at this. Pepa looked down in shame, when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She looked up to see her hermano smiling down at her. He offered her comfort, and she smiled gratefully.
MIRABEL- "Tía Pepa? if Bruno... if he were to have a vision about someone, what would it mean for them?"
PEPA- "We don't talk about Bruno."
Once again, Pepa looked down sadly, but perked up looking at her brother, knowing that he'll always understand. He's such a good brother, I wished I protected more. Which was running through her mind.
MIRABEL- "I know, it's just hypothetically, if he saw you...
PEPA- "Mirabel, please, we have to get ready for the Guzmáns."
MIRABEL- "I just wanna know if it was generally positive or like less positive?"
"Dang Mira, you're very stubburn," Isabella said, smiling at her sister.
"Yeah, it probably runs in the family," FMirabel said sarcastically, smirking at Isabella. Everyone laughed at this, while Abuela looked down to hide her blushing face. No one needs to know that they get the stubbornness from me, she thought. Though, she does admit that she is proud that her family takes after her.
FÉLIX- "It was a nightmare!"
"Felix," Pepa exclaimed, jumping from his sudden appearance. Felix comfortable hugged her, saying he was sorry for the sudden way he showed up.
PEPA- "Félix!"
FÉLIX- "Hey, she needs to know Pepi, she needs to know."
PEPA- "We don't talk about Bruno!"
FÉLIX- "He would see something terrible, then boom it would happen."
PEPA- "We don't talk about Bruno!"
MIRABEL- "What if you don't understand what he saw?"
FÉLIX- "Well then you better figure it out, because he was coming for you."
"Wow... you guys really painted me as the villain, huh." Bruno said to no one in particular but still causing Pepa to dip her heads in shame.
"Actually, I think I'm over dramatizing this to calm Pepa down, though in hindsight, probably not a good idea," Felix explained, observing his on-screen self.
Pepa:
(Singing)
We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no
We don't talk about Bruno, but
It was my wedding day
Here, both Brunos turned to stare at Pepa, with an eyebrow raised, making him look like Abuela in a way. When she saw this, she looked at him smiling proudly that he can look like her in this moment.
Félix:
It was our wedding day
Pepa:
We were getting ready
And there wasn't a cloud in the sky
Félix:
No clouds allowed in the sky
Pepa:
Bruno walks in with a mischievous grin
"I/He likes to act, so it was probably a way to calm Pepa down from her nerves, hoping she would see my/his silliness," all the future people talked at once. Pepa looked at them, shocked not thinking about Bruno's love for acting at that moment. She looked at him, and he was just looking at her smiling. She relaxed and smiled back and mouthed a thank you towards him. He nodded and went back to watching the movie.
Félix:
Thunder!
Pepa:
You're telling the story or am I?
Félix:
I'm sorry, mi vida, go on
Everyone smiled at the love between Felix and Pepa. Abuela was happy that her daughters found love, though she wished Bruno also found love, someone to cherish him and care for him the way that he deserves.
Pepa:
Bruno says, "It looks like rain"
FMirabel looks at both Brunos with an eyebrow raised up," So, you tell the person who can control the weather with her emotions that it looks like rain, when it's her wedding day," at this both Brunos blushed deeply and was looking at everyone sheepishly. Everyone laughed at this, including Abuela. Oh, Brunito, what am I going to do with you?
Félix:
Why did he tell us?
Pepa:
In doing so, he floods my brain
"What does that even mean," FMirabel said, looking very confused. Everyone else looks confused, except for Alonso.
"It is a psychological concept, it basically means this, You may be experiencing what is known as emotional flooding, a psychological concept that describes when someone becomes overwhelmed with emotions. To understand emotional flooding, we first need to understand our nervous system. Our nervous system regulates the automatic processes in our body," Alonso explains, everyone just looks at him, "I took some years studying the human psyche, so I can help people mentally, and emotionally."
Everyone just nodded and smiled that he cares enough to study something to help someone. They are really starting to like Mirabel's future husband.
Félix:
Abuela gets the umbrellas
Pepa:
Married in a hurricane
Félix:
What a joyous day but anyway
Everyone looks at Felix like he was crazy that marrying in a hurricane was a joyous day. He just shrugged and went back to watching the movie.
Pepa & Félix:
We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no
We don't talk about Bruno
Dolores:
Hey, grew to live in fear of Bruno stuttering or stumbling
I can always hear him sort of muttering and mumbling
I associate him with the sound of falling sand, ch-ch-ch
It's a heavy lift with a gift so humbling
Always left Abuela and the family fumbling
Grappling with prophecies they couldn't understand
Do you understand?
"You have a good singing voice Lola," little Mirabel told both Dolores. They smiled at her and had the biggest urge to smother her with hugs and kisses. So did everyone else.
Camilo:
A seven-foot frame,
rats along his back
"Woah... a little bit of an overestimation don't you think?" Bruno said to his sobrino.
"I was five when you left okay."
When he calls your name it all fades to black
Yeah, he sees your dreams and feasts on your screams (Hey)
Here everyone looked at Camilo with raised eyebrows, then they looked at both Brunos and started laughing, because they know that he is not seven-foot tall.
Pepa & Camilo:
We don't talk about Bruno, no, no, no (We don't talk about Bruno)
Dolores:
No, No
Pepa & Camilo:
We don't talk about Bruno
Dolores:
We don't talk about Bruno
Townsperson 5:
He told me my fish would die, the next day, dead
"Well, maybe, if you took care of it properly it wouldn't have died." Bruno said.
Ensemble:
No, no
Townsperson 1:
He told me I'd grow a gut and just like he said
"Maybe don't eat as many fatty foods?" Bruno called out.
"Yeah, if you are going to eat unhealthy foods and not exercise, then you don't need a vision to show you that you are going to gain some pounds, also if that was a vision, then it is a vision that you can change easily by eating right and be active," Alonso said with a frown at the audacity of the town. "Also, in my opinion, why have good visions, where it could be a wonderful surprise, I would want a bad vision to either change it or if it is a death of a loved one, then spend as much time with them as possible so they can die happy." Everyone looked at him with surprised looks, especially both Brunos. FMirabel looked at him with a smile, knowing he would never hate on her tio for his visions. Both Brunos looked at Alonso with bright smiles that made everyone stop and stare. Everyone was sad that he doesn't show that smile that often, and they vouched to make it happen again.
Ensemble:
No, no
Townsperson 6:
He said that all my hair would disappear, now, look at my head
"Yeah.. no. That was bound to happen sooner or later."
Ensemble:
No, No
Your fate is sealed when your prophecy is read
"Clearly the town should study seers and see that isn't true, the only way a vision is sealed is if it is set in stone," Alonso said, now really frowning in displeasure. He looked at both Brunos and declared this, "I am now going to swear my life to always protect you from these villagers, who can't seem to understand that you only see the future, not control it." FMirabel was looking at him with hearts in her eyes and swooned at his words. Everyone saw this and cooed at her, which caused her to bow her head and blushed.
Isabela:
He told me that the life of my dreams
Would be promised, and someday be mine
He told me that my power would grow
Like the grapes that thrive on the vine
Isabela smiled at the vision that she'll get (assuming she hasn't gotten it yet, I don't know when she had gotten this vision, also realized I was spelling her name with two Ls instead of one).
Abuela:
Óye, Mariano's on his way
Dolores:
He told me that the man of my dreams
Would be just out of reach
Betrothed to another
It's like I hear him, now
Here, everyone from the past looked at both Dolores shocked.
"You're in love with Mariano and I'm trying to get him and Isabela married, I'm so sorry Dolores," Abuela said, looking at them sadly. FDolores just waved and motioned that she and Mariano are together. Abuela just nodded and smiled at her.
Isabela:
Hey sis, I want not a sound out of you
"Isabela, we do not talk to our siblings that way," Julieta said, looking at Isabela angrily. Isabela was just looking at them confused, wondering why she would treat her little sister that way. FMirabel just smiled at Isabela and told her that they made up. Isabela smiled at her and went to hug her, not going back to her seat just yet.
Dolores:
It's like I can hear him now, I can hear him now!
Mirabel:
Um, Bruno
Yeah, about that Bruno
I really need to know about Bruno
Give me the truth and the whole truth, Bruno!
Camilo
Isabela, your boyfriend's here
Everyone looked at Camilo with raised brows, thinking that was kind of weird.
Abuela & Isabela:
Time for dinner!
Camilo:
A seven-foot frame, rats along his back
Pepa:
It was my wedding day
Félix:
It was our wedding day
Isabela:
He told me that the life of my dreams
Dolores:

Camilo:

Félix:

Pepa
You're telling the story or am I?
Félix:
I'm sorry mi vida go on
Isabela:
Like the grape that thrive on the vine, on the vine
Dolores:
Always left Abuela and the family fumbling
Grappling with prophecies they couldn't understand
Do you understand
Abuela:
Óye, Mariano's on his way
Pepa:

Félix:
What a gorgeous day
Dolores & Isabela:
And I'm fine, and I'm fine, and I'm fine, I'm fine
Ensemble:
He's here
Don't talk about Bruno, no
Mirabel:
Why did I talk about Bruno?
Ensemble:
Not a word about Bruno
Mirabel:
I never should have brought up Bruno
"That was kind of hard to follow, but everyone has a good sining voice," Abuela told them, smiling at everyone.
oOoOoOoOo
AGUSTÍN- "Miraboo. Got your party pants on? 'Cause I..."
"Busted." Mirabel said to herself.
MIRABEL- " I... broke into Bruno's tower, I found his last vision. The family's in trouble. the magic is dying. The house is breaking. Luisa's gift is fading. And I think it's all because of me?"
MIRABEL- "Pá?"
AGUSTÍN- "We say nothing. Abuela wants tonight to be perfect. Until the Guzmáns leave, you did not break into Bruno's tower. The magic is not dying. The house is not breaking. Luisa's gift is not fading. No one will know. Just act normal. No one has to know."
DOLORES- "I know. Hmm."
MIRABEL- "She's gonna tell everyone."
ABUELA- "Time to eat!"
AGUSTÍN- "Miercoles."
"Why did dad say a day of the week," Luisa asked very confused, along with the other kids.
"It's our way to not curse in front of you kids, but please don't say that word in that context," Julieta told them, with the a stern voice towards the end. All the kids nodded and said that they won't.
oOoOoOoOo
ABUELA- "The Guzmáns and the Madrigals together will be so good for the encanto."
SEÑORA GUZMÁN- "Yes. Then let's hope tonight is not a horrible disaster."
"She just jinxed the diner," both Brunos exclaimed, looking around for their salts, then deflated when they didn't see them.
ABUELA- "To a perfect night. Salud."
ALL- "Salud."
Mirabel and Dolores sat there having a staring contest. Knowing if someone broke eye contact they were doomed.
"That is a really instense game of a staring contest," Camilo joked. Everyone burst out laughing at that, relieving the tension that everyone from the past felt.
MARIANO- "Avocado?"
And... eye contact was broken. They were doomed. When Mirabel caught sight of Dolores again she was already spilling to Camilo.
DOLORES- "... Bruno's vision."
Camilo seemed to choke on air as he began to shapeshift into Mirabel then Bruno then back to himself.
FÉLIX- "Camilo. Fix your face.
Camilo shook his head to return to his natural form.
ISABELA- "Water?"
Just like that eye contact was broken again. But this time Camio was telling his Papá.
CAMILO- "... Bruno's vision.
Caught by surprise Félix spat water all over Mariano and Camilo had to try so very hard not to laugh.
ABUELA- "Mirabel."
MIRABEL- "Hmm?"
ABUELA- "The cream, please."
MIRABEL- "Pá, the cream?"
When Mirabel turned her attention back to the issue at hand Tío Félix was already telling Tía Pepa.
FÉLIX- "... Bruno's vision.
A storm cloud grew and grew until it cover the entire table.
ABUELA- "Pepa, the cloud."
PEPA- "Clear skies. Clear skies. Clear skies."
Julieta seemed like the only Madrigal who had no idea what was going on. And it didn't take long until she did
"Tia's face as she is very confused on what's going on," Camilo said laughing. Julieta blushed and glared at Camilo.
PEPA- "... Bruno's vision."
Mirabel did her very best to avoid her Mamá's gaze. Then she noticed a large crack forming underneath her.
"Man, ya'll can't keep a secret to save your lives can ya," Alonso said, laughing, no noticing the glares everyone is giving him. When he finally noticed he stops laughing and went pale. He looked at his wife to see that she has a look that promises pain.
MIRABEL- "Huh?"
MARIANO- "Mirabel. Everything okay?"
AGUSTÍN- "Everything is great. She's just excited. For you to propose. Which uh, you should do."
MIRABEL- "Yes."
AGUSTÍN- "As fast as you can."
"I feel like I should have been clued in on something regarding this with the way everyone is acting," Abuela deadpanned to everyone. They sheepishly looked at her, when she laughed. They looked shocked.
MARIANO- "Uh, I was actually gonna..."
MIRABEL- "You were actually gonna! Great!"
She quickly turned her oldest sister's chair to face Mariano.
SEÑORA GUZMÁN- "Well. Well, well, since everyone here has a talent, my Mariano wanted to begin with a song! Luisa, could you bring over the piano?"
LUISA- "Okay."
MIRABEL- "Uh, It's actually family tradition to sing after."
Mirabel shoved him out of his chair and onto his knees.
MARIANO- "Isabela, most graceful of all Madrigals."
Then she noticed a crack forming not too far away. And decided that jumping on it was the best way to fix the issue.
"Well, that's not suspicious," Alonso said looking at his wife, raising one of his eyebrows at her, which she glared at him.
MARIANO- "Um..."
MIRABEL- "You're doing great."
MARIANO- "The most perfect flower in this entire encanto."
MIRABEL- "No!"
MARIANO- "Will you marry..."
MIRABEL- "No!"
SEÑORA GUZMÁN- "What is happening?"
DOLORES- "Mirabel found Bruno's vision. She's in it. She's going to destroy the magic. And now we're doomed.
"Wow, way to throw me under the bus there Dolores," FMirabel said, looking at her. She just shrugged.
TOWNSPEOPLE- "Felicidades! Oh."
oOoOoOoOo
ABUELA- "Señora, por favor!"
Abuela called out ash she chased after the Guzmáns.
MIRABEL- "Abuela, please! There's gotta be an explanation."
ISABELA- "I hate you!"
LUISA- "Uh, I'm a loser!"
AGUSTÍN- "Luisa!"
PEPA- "What did you do?"
MIRABEL- "I'm not doing anything! It's Bruno's vision! It's..."
Mirabel's attention was captured by four rats running each with a piece of the vision.
MIRABEL- "Huh?"
She chased after them.
ABUELA- "The magic is strong! Everything is fine! We are the Madrigals! Mirabel!"
With this, future Delores and Mariano said bye and fanished, leaving future Bruno, as he knows what is coming next. Everyone is confused on why he is still there.
"I will appear soon, and I have a feeling I am not going to like the outcome," FBruno explained, while also looking worriedly at Pepa. She was confused on why he was looking at her like that.
