"A couple of minutes my foot." Kaylath groaned.

How long had it been since that Officer left? One hour, four? He couldn't tell anymore. All he knew was that he was left alone in a cramped room with nothing but a metallic table and his own thoughts.

As he sat there he started to wonder if it had been the smart thing to take the test. Surely they couldn't have formally charged him with what they had, right? Maybe it was stupid to put his faith in a test he knew nothing about. Regardless, it was too late now. He just had to accept whatever fate had in store.

Lost in his own thoughts he hadn't heard the approaching footsteps of leather boots on the metal floor, nor the door opening behind him. As if on cue, the Officer that had promised to take just a few minutes walked in, flanked by two Imperial Stormtroopers.

"I apologize for the wait, but things took an unexpected turn."

Hearing the Officer speak shook him from his thoughts. "What do you mean it took an unexpected turn? Am I being charged?"

The Officer remained silent for a moment before speaking. "Yes, you are being charged. In fact, you've already been found guilty and have been sentenced to a remote Imperial Prison."

"What do you mean I've been found guilty? There hasn't even been a trial!" Kaylath was starting to feel irritated at this point. This couldn't be right, he was a citizen of the Galactic Empire for pete's sake. There was no way the Imperial Courts could rule against him so fast. It was impossible.

"Why do you think it took so long? They wanted this done as soon as possible. It appears those you wished to rob had far reaching pull within the upper echelon of our socity."

"This was perfect." thought the Officer. It had all worked out in his favor, surely his bosses would be pleased with his work. Perhaps he could earn a promotion for this.

"Please, come with me and make this easier on yourself."

Kaylath just sat there, silent. A thousand thoughts running through his mind as he was more or less forced to take the ruling in. "It had to be a mistake, just a huge mistake."

"I refuse." That was the best Kaylath could utter at this point. All of his underlying rage collapsed in on itself as he sat there.

As if the Officer had expected this outcome, he stretched out his arm and gave the two Stormtroopers a simple command, one they had heard all two often in this part of the Galaxy. "Detain him and put him in cuffs."

With the precision of highly oiled machines, the two beings dressed in a suit of solid white plastoid plates encroached upon the sitting man. With a solid kick to the legs of the chair, Kaylath found himself laying facedown on the cold conrete floor. A boot pressed to his back, as his arms were jerked back by one of the Stormtroopers and placed into cuffs.

The Officer could only smirk in smug satisfaction as Kaylath was drug to his feet, a Stormtrooper on either side of him.

"You really should have come quietly. You just made this worse for yourself."

"Go to hell." Spat Kaylath.

It was at this point the Officer started to grow annoyed at this sub-human trash. It was time to show him just who ran the place around here.

"I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that." was all that came from the Officer as he slammed his fist into Kaylath's gut, nearly bringing him down to his knees. If it hadn't been for the Stormtroopers holding him steady, he surely would have fallen.

As the Officer turned on his heel, he started to make his way out of the room, only to stop at the last second. "Show our guest the express route to his destination."

With that he left, leaving Kaylath at the mercy of the men holding him, who promptly dropped him to the floor. Before he could respond he felt the feeling of a boot at the back of his head before darkness met him.
