Kaylath slowly woke from his impromptu nap, his head killing him. It felt like he had just challenged a Wookie to a fist fight, and had lost terribly. It then dawned on him he was no longer within the confines of the room, instead he was in the hull of a Imperial Prisoner Shuttle.
The lights within the hull were dim, almost like they didn't want the prisoners to see each other. The best one could make out were the silhouettes of other people. Their dark outlines only being broken up when something in the aisle entered their line of sight.
If Kaylath had to wager, it was probably a Stormtrooper or two. Something he found rather weird, since it didn't seem like the ship was large enough to warrant a constant patrol. It was then that he noticed that it was eerily silent, not a spoken word from anyone. The only sound came from the engine as it powered them through the vastness of space.
Kaylath could do nothing else but lay his head back in his seat, the material biting into his back and neck. It was clearly not designed for a comfortable ride. Something he could probably thank the Empire for.
As he attempted to adjust himself, his cuffed hands pulled against the thin metal beam located within the outcrop of his seat, near his lower back. A decision to keep prisoners from getting up and causing a scene.
"They really want this ride to be as annoying as possible." Kaylath thought to himself. Guess he just has to endure until they arrive who knows where.
The next thing Kaylath knew his head as knocked to the side. A stinging sensation on his cheek as he hung in his seat, unable to move more then a couple of centimeters. He had just been sucker punched by something, or someone.
"Caught one trying to break their cuffs."
Suddenly the lights within the hull sprung to life, nearly blinding Kaylath in the process. Before him stood what he assumed at the start, a Stormtrooper. The expressionless look pressed upon the helmet as he stood above the seated human.
"Trying to escape?"
Was that a rhetorical question? How was he suppose to escape? He couldn't even get the cuffs off. Even if he did, where would he go? Its not like he could just mosey about the ship without a care in the world.
"Of course not, I was just stretching." Surely they would accept that answer.
The next thing Kaylath knew, he was getting slugged in the face again. He could only groan from the hit. A bruise already forming on his cheek from the blow.
"Move again, and I'll be forced to use the butt of my blaster. Do I make myself clear?" Ordered the Stormtrooper.
Kaylath nodded his head before speaking, "Crystal clear."
"Good."
With that, the trooper who had just been in his face turned on his heel and made his way back down the other side of the ship, leaving Kaylath alone to sit in silence.
Seated across the aisle from him was another Stormtrooper, his head tilted up in his direction. Just staring at him. In fact, nearly every seat in the hull was taken up by a Stormtrooper. The only other prisoner he could see was near the front of the hull, a Bothan by the looks of it. The poor creature having a bloody nose, possibly broken by a punch. The only other injury he could see was a bruised eye.
Kaylath turned his gaze to the floor. Nothing of interest was there, but it was better then getting hit again.
Where had it all gone wrong? Why had it come to this? He just didn't know, but, when he stopped to think about it, a sharp pain came to his head, as if it were trying to split apart. He had to stop, or he didn't think he could take it.
Unbeknownst to Kaylath, the ship was coming into view of the Prison. He jerked his head up as the ship's engines begin to slow down before stopping as the ship landed. A hissing filled the hull as the doors began to open, as a trooper approached him and freed Kaylath from his seat.
"Welcome to your new home, scumbag."
