"I'm fine,just nervous is all I've never been around this many people before."Which was half true,I've never seen this many people before. I sat down next to Kuma who had already gotten me my food.I smiled and thanked him.
"So guys out of the three Kings who would be the most likely to get a perm?"Smoker asked everyone.I stared at him,is he serious?And what's a perm?
"It's a hairstyle."
"Doesn't king Newgate already have a perm?"Tashigi asked,I am so confused right now."No he doesn't have any hair where did you even hear that from?." Marco asked completely baffled."Come on guys just answer!"Smoker wined.
"I think king Law would."Kuma stated with a straight face.Everyone just stared at him with confused faces.
"That doesn't make any sense Kuma,he would look like a weirdo with a perm!"Smoker shouted."Well that was kinda the point."
We continued talking until everyone was done eating.Marco went off on his own while Kuma, Inazuma,and Tashigi went to a meeting room.Which left me with Smoker.
"Well Lu is there anything you want to do?"He asked while getting in my face with and excited look."Well….. are there perhaps any books I can read?"He looked at me puzzled."Normally kids don't like books….?"
"This guy isn't that smart."
"Well I do,I find them fascinating."Part of that was true,but the main reason I wanted books was to see if I can find anything to understand the world more.Being stuck in a room and tortured for seven years doesn't give me any experience to go off of.
"Your right it gives you trama!"Go away get out of my thoughts. "Nah."
"Well we do have a library,Kuma likes books too and so does Tashigi,so they started collecting them over time.And other revolutionarys helped saying it would be useful to have any information we can get.Of course though,we haven't read them all,and some of them we don't understand."
"Can you take me there?!"I exclaimed a bit louder then intended. "Well yeah we can,but keep in mind it's a library so you have to be quiet and the librarian isn't exactly a kind lady."
"Ok then,i'll be quiet!"I said visibly excited.He lead me there and when he opened the door my jaw dropped,it was huge and had well over a million booksI didn't even know where to start.
"Start with a book on how to not be stupid,thats a good start!" Really……you're mean."Nooo me mean never!"
"I trust you will be fine by yourself."Smoker whispered,and i nooded still I awe.I stared running around the library opening random books, there were stories of wizards, demigods, werewolves,good and evil, but my favorite one was pirates.They could sail across something called the sea and look for treasure.There were also history books but they were written in another language.Which lucky for me due to Corpses powers I can read them.
Some of the books were so old they were taped together.But I found if stroke The spine of the book it'll will be brand new again. Great more strange ability's,I mean at least this one is good.
Eventually I came across a book that was so old the words had either all been smudged or completely gone.So I stroked the spine, it was a book called 'The Era of Dreams' I started reading it and found some awful stuff.It was an old reasearch book about Devil fruits,back when the powers actually went into fruits and not people.
This book could have answers!I flipped through a few pages, which most of them were talking about an experiment that eventually failed,this was over half the book.Then I got to a part of the book that was talking about a massive break through,and how they found out how to use multiple fruits in one person,which back then more then one fruit would kill you.
The name of the test subject is was horrifyed me though. Coarpse,the spirit that lives in my body right now.Apparently he was the first and only success at the time,and eventually they were able to give him every fruit in existence. Every logia,every Zoan and every paramecia,all of them.But something went wrong,Corpse apparently wasn't a full human,and lost all empathy.And the last entry,was awful.It said Experiment gone crazy and killing staff,im the last one,And since the experiment had so many devil fruits he was immortal.Then it said the world is ending goodb-
Whoever it was that was writing this must have died while writing goodbye.But a part of me wasn't even sad by that,I mean I know what it's like to be experimented on so I felt no compassion who the writer,he was not a good person at all.And now im living like this due to this man.I looked through the book again to see if I could find his name to see if it might help.He never did write his name but he did write his sons name.Shanks,no last name nothing and he's only mentioned towards the end when the writer was saying he loved his son Shanks and that he was sorry for what he'd done to him.I've never heard that name before,and I doubt i'll ever hear it again as this was written over eight hundred years ago so Shanks is most certainly dead.
I looked at the clock and saw it was getting late,and I still need to clean the bathroom.I sat walking down the hall towards my room and I saw Marco kinda off in a corner talking to someone.I couldn't hear what they were saying and I didn't wish to ease drop so I just went in my room.But just as I did my hearing amplified ten fold,only for a moment though and all I heard was the other person ask "is this Luffy person a threat to our plans?" And Marco saying "Undetermined still trying to understand his powers."
"Trust no one."
That's when my hearing went back to normal,it gave me goosebumps,and scared the daylights out of me,I quickly locked my door,and tried to calm down.Is Marco evil?I mean I guess he definitely has a different aura then the other revolutionaries, and it doesn't feel friendly,in fact it feeling threatening.I'll just have to keep an eye on him.
"No,what you need is to stay away from him."
After I calmed down and cleaned the bathroom with some kind of black hole ability,I went to bed,I was worried about Marco but I pushed to the back of my mind and quickly fell asleep.
The next morning I was awakened by someone knocking on my door.I got up groggily and opened it,at first I didn't register who it was,but after a few seconds I recognized them as Marco.I need to remain calm,and not give away that I heard any of his conversation, but I still acted cautious,after all I already was cautious of all of them and he knew that.
"Hi Marco what's up?"It was hard to sound friendly and cautious at the same time.
"Well I was wondering if you would like to train with me,so we can see your fighting style and see if you need any improvements in certain areas,I mean this is an army we need our members to be able to defend themselves."
"Wow that was a lame excuse,he may as well of said that he just wanted to see if your a threat."
"Sure sounds like fun."
But I might learn a thing or two about him if I agree.
"But he'd also learn a thing or two about you,not good."
"Great we can start after breakfast."
He left and I went back in my room to change,after that I went down to the mess hall to eat.I sat with the group just like I did at dinner.
"Hey Luffy is going to show me his fighting skills any of you guys wish to join?"Marco asked while smiling at the group.Smoker immediately sprung from his seat.
"Yes,we can all fight him and see where he lands in the power scale!"
Everyone except Marco looked annoyed by this.
"Great we start after we're done eating."
Smoker started eating so fast I thought he was going to choke. After everyone was done eating Smoker bolted to the training room.The rest of us walked there after him.When we got there he was bouncing up and down like a child.I'm the actual child here and he's acting more immature then me.
"Ok who's going first?"Tashigi asked.
"I will im the one who asked him after all."Marco said with a a kind smile.
"Ok but we each only get five minutes."Smoker yelled at Marco.
He walked to the center of the room and I followed.When he stopped walking he turned to face me.
"Ok Luffy I will not be actually fighting you,but I want you to attack me with all you got,don't worry about hurting me,im a monster called a blood Phoenix so attacks won't hurt me even powers bassed ones, this is just to see your fighting style."
I looked down at my feet.
"Well….. here's the thing…I don't really have one…"
" Excuse me what?"Marco looked kinda angry but at the same time confused.
"I've never fought anyone before,I don't even know how to fight or use my powers,so I guess this is also for me to see what I can do!"
"Very well then,come at me!"Marco yelled.
I ran at him and he looked ready to defend,but I quickly jumped over him.But I didn't land instead I was floating above him,as Marco turned around to see if I was behind him I kicked at his head,my foot went right through his head as his head turned into blood like flames.
"Nice,your able to float then."
"Yeah,I accidentally floated after jumping up from someone trying to trip me once."
"That could definitely come in handy but is that all you can do I mean a lot of people in the army are able to fly so you got to have more then that."
"Hey that's enough you already had your fun fights over Marco your time is up."Kuma softly stated.
"Ok,whose next then?"
Smoker bolted towards us.
"ME!"He screamed in Marcos face,and Marco still just smiled at him.
"Ok then Smoker have at it."After He said that he walked towards the others and observed us.
"Ok similar to Marco I have a power that makes it nearly impossible to to hurt me,i'm made of smoke so attacks will phase through me just like Marco,now show me what you got kid!"
He seems a bit to exited for this.
This time I didn't move but instead focused and summoned crystal like swords spinning around me and launched them at Smoker.They passed right through him,he smiled at me.
"Not bad kid,I think Tash will be able to train you to use that ability a little better."I smiled as he said this,but inside I was panicked,my ability's are random so that's going to be hard.Also in that same note,they're going to find out eventually.I guess i'm going to have to play the ignorance card.
"Ok,I want to go next!"Tashigi walked to the opposite side of me and Smoker walked back to the side lines.
"Ok Luffy i'm going to test your defenses,also im not like Smoker or Marco attacks will hurt me so please keep that in mind."I nodded as she said this.She then summoned a sword and charged me.
The moment she was right about to bring the sword down I crossed both of my fingers on each hand and summoned an unbreakable barrier to block her attack.When she hit it here sword shattered into several pieces.She stared at me in awe, the started giggling.
"Well that's almost like an instant win button you got right there."
"Thanks I didn't even know I could do that."
"Well now you do,and considering that the limit is three powers I think it's safe to say that was all of them,so I guess we'll have no more surprises."She smiled and started walking away,and Kuma was now in front of me.Oh boy they are going to be in for a surprise,because I definitely have more then three powers.And there random so I won't even be able to fake it.At this point I was kinda panicking and I didn't hear anything of what Kuma said.
"Luffy are you ok?"
I barely Heard him,my vision started going white and my ears started ringing.It was like I completely left reality,I could start to see something play out in front of me….
