Flashback over

The case got solved really soon with Abhijeet's efforts. The next day HQ people arrived bureau again. They found the whole team in the bureau and working silently. Team stood up and greeted all. DCP came forward and asked –

Kll ek case report hua tha. Agr voh case agle 24 ghante mein solve nhi hua toh…(interuppted)

Abhijeet (forwarding a file) – Case solve ho chuka h sir. Ye rhi uski puri report.

DCP got shocked and took the file. He read the file and found no mistakes. Even Daya was shocked. He knew the case was solved at night only. This means Abhijeet completed the whole report at night and did not take enough sleep…again! He is not undersanding why Abhijeet is doing this. He has involved himself in bureau so much that he has no personal time left. He is working like a machine day and night without complaining and without sharing his part of grief. He was lost in his thoughts when Freddy jerked him and asked in tension –

Sir aap theek h?

Daya (realising his surroundings) – Abhijet kaha gya?

Freddy – Sir aapke saamne hi toh gye Abhijeet sir… conference room mein h. Meeting h HQ walon ke saath… phirse.

Daya nodded and looked at the conference room window. It seems Abhijeet was trying to convince the HQ people for something… but What! After a good one hour discussion they came out and DCP asked Freddy to call Salunkhe and Tarika in the bureau. Freddy did as ordered and soon they arrived. DIG came forward and said –

We are here to make an announcement. We feel very proud to announce that Senior Inspector Abhijeet is ACP of CID Mumbai from now.

There was a pin drop silence for a moment in the bureau. DIG himself broke the silence again and said –

Congratulations Abhijeet. Tumne in dino mein proove kr diya CID Mumbai ka Acp tum hi ho skte ho. Afsoos ki baat h k Pradyuman nhi rha ab hmare beech tumhe congratulate ke liye.

Abhijeet (with a smile) – Thankyou very much sir.

DIG (forwarding the papers) – Ye papers sign kro and officially apna bureau sambhalo.

Abhijeet took the papers and signed them. After signing the papers he handed them over to DIG sir who too signed it and left the bureau with other people. Abhijeet sighed in relief but immidiately regretted it as he has other problem to deal with. Everyone in the team has heard his sigh of relief which was shocking for them. Abhijeet turned around with a normal look and asked –

Kya hua? Tum sb log ese kyu dekh rhe ho mujhe. Congratulate nhi kroge mujhe tum sb?

Salunkhe (with a sarcastic smile) – Bhut -2 mubarak ho (stressing on) ACP Abhijeet. Aap apne mission mein kaamyaab hue h. Acp ki kursi apne kabze mein krne ke mission mein.

Saying so, he left from there. Abhijeet too left from there saying nothing. Freddy broke the silence -

Mujhe toh lga tha Abhijeet sir kabhi ye prmotion accept nhi krenge.

Nikhil – Abhijeet sir ne toh ek bar bhi mna nhi kiya.

Pankaj – Maine kabhi nhi socha tha k Abhijeet sir esa krenge. Mtlb itne dino se voh Acp bnne ki tyari kr rhe the… hum sb log abhi tkk is shock se nikal paye h k Acp sir hmare beech nhi h… aur Abhijeet sir…

A minute later a peon came with a new chair and placed it Acp's cabin. He took the old chair on which Acp sir used to sit and Daya stopped him immidiately with –

Ruko… ye chair kahi nhi jayegi. Ise yahin rkhdo.

Daya took that chair and kept on a secure place and faired his hand over it. Abhijeet came back and ordered –

Sb log abhi tkk yahin khade ho… aapna -2 kaam krne baitho.

Saying so, he left for his cabin sat on his new chair and started working. He looked from the cabin and saw everyone at their desk working. No new case reported today and in the evening Abhijeet asked all to leave early.

Next day…

Whole team was working on a new case with Abhijeet when Salunkhe came and handed over an envelope to Abhijeet. Although he knew what was inside he asked –

Kya h ye?

Salunkhe – Mera resignation.

Daya (in shock tone) – Sir… aap resignation nhi de skte… please.

Salunkhe – Daya… mujhe rokne ki koshish mat krna… main mere dost ke qatil ke saath kaam nhi kr skta.

Daya (trying to convince him) – Sir… dekhiye esa kuch nhi h… aap meri baat smjhne ki koshish kijiye.

Freddy – Han sir… Acp sir hme chod kr chle gye. Aap bhi hme ese chod kr jayenge toh hum sb aapke bina akele ho jayenge na.

Purvi – Please sir… aap ese nhi ja skte… aapke bina ye CID pariwaar adhura h.

Salunkhe – Purvi bache… Tum log mera dukh smjhne ki koshish kro… main (looking at Abhijeet) is aadmi ke saath ek minute nhi bita skta.

He kept the envelope on the table and about to leave when Abhijeet said in a calm voice –

Theek h Jayiye.

Team looked back at him in shock while Daya said in shocking tone –

Abhijeet… ye kya keh rhe ho tum. Hm unhe rokne ki koshish kr rhe ho aur tum!

Abhijeet (calm voice) – main theek keh rha hun Daya… jaane do unhe. Vaise bhi unme himmat nhi h mere rehte hue yahan kaam krne ki. Kayar h voh.

Salunkhe (in anger filled tone) – Kya! Mujhme himmat nhi h. Main kayar hun… main!

Abhijeet (in loud tone) – Han aap… kayar toh kya aap sbse bade jhoothe h… aap mujhe qatil kehte h apne dost ka… sach toh ye h k aap us dosti ke kaabil nhi h.

Pankaj – Abhijeet sir… please bas kijiye.

Salunkhe (loud tone) – Nhi Pankaj… bolne do tumhare ACP sahab ko… (To Abhijeet) kya kehna chahte ho tum.

Abhijeet – Bhool gye aap apna wada?

Salunkhe – Konsa Wada?

Abhijeet -Katori Tamta wale case mein jb DCP sir Acp sir ka wax ka sar (head) lekr aagye the… Jb Acp sir wapas aagye the aap dono ne ek wada kiya tha…

Flashback

Salunkhe was moving to and fro in anger in his lab. Acp was moving behind him and saying – Acha yr maaf krde ab… maine kaha na mujhse galti hogyi. Mujhe krna pda ye sb plan.

Salunkhe (in anger) – Tum kro us DCP ke sath plan… main chla… Infact main CID hi chod deta hun.

Acp – Yr dekh ye galat h… Tu CID nhi chodega…

Salunkhe – Main ja rha hun.

Acp (coming in front of him) – Dekh Salunkhe

Salunkhe (pointing towards his finger) – Dekho Pradyuman

Acp (naughty tone) – Han Dikha Salunkhe

Salunkhe (stopped for a moment) – Nhi sudhroge tum kabhi.

Acp (taking him in side hug) – Sorry yr…is baar maaf krde.

Salunkhe (surrendering) – Acha theek h… lekin ye akhri bar h han.

Acp Pradyuman (forwarding his hand) – Lekin wada kr… tu kabhi CID nhi chodega. Hum dono ek sath retirement lenge.

Salunkhe – Lekin agr hum mein se kisi ka upar ka ticket pehle kat gya toh?

Acp – Toh bhi dosra CID nhi chodega… CID mei rehkr hmare bachon ka khyal rkhega.

Salunkhe – Done

Acp -Done.

Flashback over.

Salunkhe fell silent for a moment. He remembered his promise to Pradyuman. He took his resignation letter, tore it into pieces and looked Abhijeet in his eye and said –

Mujhe CID mein rok kr tumne bhut badi galti krdi h Abhijeet. Tumne Acp ki kursi toh haasil krli lekin mere rehte tum chain se ji nhi paoge.

Saying so, he left from there. Abhijeet ordered everyone to continue their work and went to his cabin, while Daya gave him a dissapointed glance Later that evening, Abhijeet went to airport, boarded a flight to Hyderabad. Reaching there, he called someone and asked the person to meet him. They met at a café talked for an hour. After much discussion, the other person just turned his head down while Abhijeet smiled a little. He left the café took a taxi and reached in front of a building. He went inside did some work there and left after 2 hours. After that he came to airport again boarded the flight to Mumbai.

Next day

DCP Chitrole came to bureau and handed over Abhijeet's new badge to him. He while giving him some keys said –

As ACP tumhe naya ghar allot hua h HQ se aur nyi gaadi bhi. Ye h uske papers and chabi.

Abhijeet (taking the keys and paper) – Thankyou Sir.

DCP – Tumhe formally as ACP welcome krne ke liye HQ ne ek party arrange krni h…(interuppted)

Abhijeet – No sir… Mujhe koi party nhi chahiye. Infact abhi team mein se koi ready nhi h party vagereh ke liye… Acp sir ke demise se abhi bhi sb log… Koi party nhi hogi.

DCP – Theek h. Main chlta hun… zroori kaam hote h mujhe tum logon ki tareh free nhi baitha hun.

Saying so, he left. While Abhijeet played with the new house keys in his fingers with a smile on his face and left for his cabin. While team gave a dissapointed look. Daya too was thinking –

Naya ghar aur gaadi milne ki itni khushi. Tum itna kab badal gye Abhijeet. Tum toh kehte the k tumhe sb ke sath ek hi society mein rehna pasand h aur kabhi us society se nhi jaoge fr aaj kya hogya.

Later that day, Abhijeet came out of his cabin and said –

Mere paas ek news h sbke liye. Jaise k tum sb jante ho k main ab ACP hun aur Daya hi senior inspector h toh hme ek aur senior inspector ki zrorat h. Hme aaj ek naya senior Inspector join krne wala h. Hum sb usee pehle se jante h.

A person entered the bureau with a serious face. Abhijeet gave a smiling look to him while team was shocked to see him.

Freddy – Sir aap

Pankaj – Sir aap toh Hyderabad mein the na.

Daya – Tum!
