Next day

The day was usual like other days. One case was reported and team was working on it. Abhijeet was sitting on the table on which he used to work when he was senior inspector having the case file and was ordering the team and allocating works to all of them. Team was responding to him professionally. Team cracked the case by 4 PM. Nobody got the time to go for lunch due to the case. So after closing the case, Team went to cafeteria to have snacks and some tea. Daya was there with team. Abhijeet was still working in his cabin. Since morning, Abhijeet was having headache and he was pressing his forhead time to time. Team has noticed it well but did not ask him or say anything. Daya got worried seeing this. He was thinking –

Aaj sbne Abhijeet ko apna sar dbaate hue dekha pr kuch nhi kaha. Agr maine jldi kuch nhi kiya toh team toh Abhijeet se aur door ho jayegi. Ye CID Family toh toot jayegi. Mujhe abhi kuch krna hoga… vrna bhut der ho jayegi.

Suddenly Freddy asked – kya baat h Daya sir… aap itne chup chap h. Kya soch rhe h.

Daya – Kuch nhi Freddy… main soch rha tha k apni team kitni badal gyi h… baki teams ki tareh hogyi h.

Freddy (straight tone) – Sb log nhi badale hai sir. Kon badal gya h aap bhi jante h.

Pankaj – Aap sahi keh rhe h Freddy sir.

Daya (keeping his cup down) – Han Freddy… lekin kyu badal gya h? Iska jawab h kisi ke paas?

Rajat – Sir iska jawab toh aapke paas bhi nhi h.

Daya (thinking) – mere paas tumhare saare swaalon ke jwaab h Rajat… pr main nhi de skta.

Daya said – han shayd mere paas jwaab nhi h… pr tum log socho ki kya vajeh ho skti h.

Nikhil – Voh ab ACP bn gye h… shayd isliye.

Pankaj – Han… aur kya vajeh ho skti h.

Daya – Nikhil Pankaj is waqt tum log sirf gusse se soch rhe ho. Thande dimaag se socho. Itne saalon se hum log CID mein saath mein kaam kr rhe h…ek pariwaar ki tareh. Ek insaan achanak badal jaye esa kaise ho skta h.

Freddy – Toh sir aapka mtlb h k is sbke peeche unki koi majboori ho skti h.

Daya – Han Freddy.

Purvi – Lekin esi kya majboori ho skti h sir… jiski vajeh unhone hum sb ke saath esa behave kiya.

Daya (sad sigh) – DCP Chitrole

Freddy (shocked) – Kya! Sir aap saaf -2 btayiye ki kya baat h?

Daya – Tum logon ko yaad h…Acp sir ki death ke baad itne saare cases aagye the bureau mein… cases badte ja rhe the… aur Abhijeet pr HQ ka pressure. Uper se DCP Chitrole ne is sbka jimmedar Abhijeet ko thehra diya… usne kaha k Abhijeet as ACP apni responsibility nhi nibha rha h… usne Abhijeet ko team ko tod dene ki dhamki dedi. Usne Abhijeet ko dhamki di k voh sare team members ka transfer krwa dega agr sb cases jld se jld solve nhi hue toh.

Tum logon ko yaad h…ek case mein Abhijeet ne hum sbko 24 hrs ka time diya tha. Us case mein HQ ki taraf se usee 36 hrs ka time mila tha… Abhijeet janta tha k hum sb toote hue the us waqt… voh janta tha k team ko ek saath krne ka aur tootne se bchane ka ek hi raasta h… usne vhi kiya… tum sbko challenge kr diya aur khud se door kr diya… natija hum sb ek saath hogye aur usee harane ke liye humne voh case 20 hrs mein solve kr liya…agr voh case hum log time pr solve nhi kr paate… toh aaj hum sb ek saath nhi hote. Usne Salunkhe sir ko bhi rokne ke liye yhi tareeka apnaya. Unhe jaan boojh kr uksaya aur dikhaya k agr voh yahan nhi honge to team akeli pd jayegi aur Abhijeet se team se badslooki krne ke liye ldne ke liye koi nhi rhega.

Purvi – Lekin Abhijeet sir ne fr Rajat sir ke saath esa kyu kiya. Jis tareh se voh unko yahan laaye h… humne us din aap dono ki baaten sun li thi sir.

Freddy (looking at a blank point)– Kyunki shayd fr DCP Chitrole apne kisi aadmi ko team mein senior Inspector bna ke le aata aur hum pr nazar rkhta. Aur team ke tootne ka khtra hmesha bna rehta…(looking at Daya) maine sahi kaha na sir.

Daya (while nodding his head in yes) – Mana k Abhijeet ka tareeka galat tha… pr agr voh esa nhi krta toh aaj hum sb usee ek sath baith kr kos nhi rhe hote. Saari team usse door nhi hoti.

Saying so, Daya got up from there and left and everyone kept thinking. After some time team got back in bureau and started working. After enough of struggling with his thoughts, Freddy got up and left the bureau. Soon he returned with a cup of hot smoking coffee and a sandwich. He knocked on Abhijeet's cabin and entered inside without receiving permission. Abhijeet was standing with a file in his hands behind his chair. He got shocked seeing Freddy entering like that. Before he could say anything, Freddy kept the cup and sandwich on the table near him without even turning his head up. After leaving the things there, he left the cabin.

Abhijeet couldn't react for a moment. After more than one month, someone from team came to him and for him only. He smiled a little and kept the file. He had the sandwich and coffee with a little smile on his face. Team saw that from outside and their eyes were not questioning Freddy for what he did.

Daya too smiled internally seeing all this. Afterall how long this golden heart man named Freddy can stay away from his Abhijeet sir. How can he see him in any kind of pain when he knows the truth. He has giant big heart. He loves his CID Team unconditionally.

In the evening…

Two people could be seen standing on the terrace and having coffee quitely. The only noise of cool wind flowing was there. Breaking the silence one person asked –

Toh kya patti pdhai tumne Freddy ko?

Other person – Kuch nhi… bs itna hi kaha k DCP ne tumko team ko tod daalne ki dhamki di thi. Tum ye sb sirf team ko bchaye rkhne ke liye kiya tha… Freddy tumse jyada din naraaz reh bhi nhi skta.

Abhijeet – Freddy ka dil bhut bada h Daya… Hum kuch bhi kre voh hme smjh leta h…maaf kr deta h… afsoos ki baat h k hum log usse kuch nhi keh skte.

Daya – Pta nhi jb sach sbke saamne ayega tb voh hme maaf krega bhi ya nhi.

Abhijeet (thinking) – Sach saamne aane ke baad toh shayd tum bhi mujhe maaf nhi kroge Daya!
