Gaining New Magic Skill from a Book
Eina is seen doing some paperwork in the back while trying to enjoy another peaceful day along with her fellow Guild workers.
"So, did you hear what happened, Eina?" Misha asked, getting Eina's attention. She has pink hair and pink eyes. She wears the Guild uniform.
"Another Adventurer from the Soma Familia was able to rack in a ton of Valis out of nowhere again." Misha informed.
"Why are they so preoccupied with making money?" Eina wondered.
"No idea, I mean they've been selling so much alcohol, I don't see how their Familia could be possibly hording for cash." Misha confused as well.
This got Eina confuse as she hopes that the supporter with Bell and Leina isn't like the rest though she couldn't shake the bad feeling away about all this.
(With Bell's Group)
"Here they come!" Risty shouted as the Killer Ants and Almirajs coming at them.
Bell charges in slashing away two ants and three Almirajs making them puff in black mist and leaving their magic stones.
"Okay, let's try this." Leina held her sword tightly and thrust forward piercing through some Killer Ants.
Two Almirajs jump at Leina for a horn tackle attack to her flesh, but Risty intervene and slams her mace into their bodies so hard that they died upon impact to a wall.
"Thank you." Leina thanked.
"Sure, anytime." Risty smirked.
"Master Bell, look out!" Liliruca warned about a Almirajs running at him.
Bell dodges its horn attack though he trip falling on his butt and one Killer Ant comes in to attack him while he's down.
"Leave him alone!" Liliruca shouted and fired a fireball from a magic dagger, burning the Killer Ant a bit which gave Bell the chance to kill it and continue fighting with the others.
Liliruca sigh in relief that Bell is okay, but quickly realize what she just did and hid the magic dagger into her cloak hoping no one saw her use it.
"(Shit, I wasn't supposed to use it.)" Liliruca thought hopped no one except Risty saw her use it.
"You two, stand back." Risty reeled her right arm back with the mace tightly in her grip.
"Mace Boomerang Throw!" Risty threw her mace as it smashes through most of the Killer Ants and Almirajs while still going until it bounces from one wall to the next then back to Risty as she catches it.
"Wow!" Bell and Leina shouted of starstruck.
"How about you two handle the rest?" Risty offered with a smirk.
"Okay, let's go, Bell!" Leina charged towards the few remaining monsters.
"Right!" Bell nodded charging by Leina's side.
Bell and Leina preformed some slashing attacks in perfect sync as they finish off the last Killer Ant with a combined downward slash strike.
"Alright, we did it!" Leina panted.
"We sure did." Bell exhausted as he sat down.
"Are you two okay?" Liliruca asked running up to them.
"We're fine, but the fire magic just then. Can you use magic?" Leina asked as Bell is also curious about it.
"Uh, no, I have a magic knife." Liliruca revealed.
"Really? You chose to use something that available for me. That's so nice, thank you!" Bell smiled making Liliruca feel tense again.
"It's… It's nothing, I just wanted to help you out though I wasn't really thinking about using it." Liliruca scratched her cheek.
"Looks to me like your body moved on its own, probably have some deep thoughts about wanting to save Bell. Maybe you have a crush on him." Risty teased.
"Ah! Don't be stupid, Risty! I didn't save him for a stupid reason like that!" Liliruca snapped while her face is turning red.
Soon, everyone sat down together to eat some sandwiches Melpha made their morning and share some which is a little surprise to Liliruca as the only person she has ever shared with is Risty and the red-haired woman nodded that it's okay.
"I have to say, magic really is something! You could probably do amazing things that no normal human could ever do." Leina commented.
"You could say that again, I wish I could use Magic to do some incredible things and be stronger for my Familia." Bell amazed before eating his sandwich.
"Hey Master Bell, Lady Leina, would it be okay if I took the day off tomorrow?" Liliruca asked.
Leina and Bell look at each other for a moment as the blonde young woman shrug before looking back at the little supporter.
"Sure, I guess it's okay. Is there a specific reason why?" Bell asked curious.
"Just a little meeting with my Familia, I sort of have to be there." Liliruca answered uncomfortably and clenching onto her legs.
"How are things at your Familia, no one is hurting you or anything?" Leina asked concern.
"Thank you for your concern, but there's nothing to worry about even though I don't get along with most of the Familia members there." Liliruca said with a small smile.
"I'm sure they wouldn't mind if you miss one meeting." Bell stated.
"I said there's nothing to worry about, we'll see each other again the day after tomorrow." Liliruca assured.
"If you say so, just don't be afraid to come to us whenever there is trouble." Leina advised.
"Yeah, sure…" Liliruca said before biting on her sandwich.
"(Hmm, maybe those two can really help Liliruca live a better life. Away from that stupid ass Familia.)" Risty thought hoped.
(The Next Day)
"And there! You're all set, Leina." Cattleya helped finish putting Leina's armor on the wearer.
Leina look at herself in the mirror seeing that she is back being her old self again and perhaps feeling better than ever before, she twirls around and pull her sword out of the sheath to see the shiny reflection.
"Amazing, no, it's more than amazing! Thank you so much, Cattleya! Now I feel like I am whole once again!" Leina cheered.
"I'm glad you think so, the shield was a little hard to fix consider the special martial we used to make it, but I'm that Rana was able to find some in the back." Cattleya smiled to see a happy customer.
"I always like those magic stones we always keep even though mama doesn't use them anymore, but I always wonder how they are used to make the magic weapons use by Adventurers today." Rana bragged little as he holds a little magic stone with little sparks inside.
"Easy with that stone, Rana. Even the blacksmiths in the Hephaestus Familia have to be extra careful when using magic stones and other mystical items to make weapons." Cattleya warned.
"Uh, if you don't mind me asking. Did you and Owen used to be part of the Hephaestus Familia?" Leina asked curiously.
"That's right, we were the top blacksmiths in the whole Familia, being admire for our work and craftsmanship. They were good times." Cattleya smiled though has a little sadness in her eyes.
"Hey Leina, did you get your armor back?" Bell asked as he entered the store.
"Why don't you see for yourself?" Leina smiled as she shows the armor to Bell.
"Wow, I never get tired of seeing you in that armor. It's more you than ever before than that borrowed one." Bell complimented making Leina blush.
"So, you two are taking a break from the Dungeon today?" Rana asked.
"That's right, our supporter is at a meeting today and we're trying to think of something to past the time." Bell answered.
"Hey Bell, what's the book you got?" Leina asked, noticing the white book in Bell's arm.
"Syr gave this to me. It was left behind by a customer and it appears to be about magic." Bell answered showing the book to Leina.
"Sounds interesting." Leina said.
Leina and Bell leave the blacksmith store saying goodbye to Cattleya and Rana though they have a sudden encounter with two familiar faces.
"Well, well, the white boy who was dating that Goddess." The little girl grinned.
"You… You're that girl from the other day." Bell shocked to see her here.
"Yeah, you both came to me and Melpha to help us save Bell and Goddess from those other Goddess." Leina remembered.
"Glad you both remember us, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Yuit." Yuit greeted.
Yuit is a small elf girl due to the pointy ears with long black hair and blue eyes. Yuit wears a detailed green dress, with a big golden key and a green cape on her torso. She also has black satchel. She also wears a red feathered headpiece at the back of her head.
"And this here is my fateful friend, the Automaton Vante." Yuit introduced her friend who made a little eeri sound from her mouth.
Vante is the tall machine woman with long blonde hair and green eyes. She wears a traditional representation of a maids outfit, but her forearms and lower legs are robotic. Breasts sizes: G-cup.
"Automaton? As in a machine!" Bell asked gasp.
"That's right, Vante was built by me and I can use this remote control device to give a command to Vante on whatever I need like… protecting me from danger." Yuit used the remote to have Vante show the gun weapon built in her arm.
"Whoa, that's the most incredible thing I have ever seen!" Leina amazed as Bell agrees rapidly.
"Yep, and what makes her more special is that she's the only one of her kind." Yuit revealed shocking to Bell and Leina.
"That's amazing for such a young girl." Leina commented.
"Thank you, though I should let you know I'm older than I look." Yuit mentioned.
"Ah, Yuit, are you here for the checkup?" Rana asked seeing her and Vante.
"Sure am, see you later." Yuit waved goodbye and they enter the shop.
"Wow, we keep meeting such amazing people these days." Bell smiled.
"You're telling me!" Leina nodded.
(Church)
"Hey Bell, I'm going outside to do a little training on my own." Leina informed to test out how her sword and armor set feels now they've been repaired and checked by Cattleya.
"Okay, I'll just be here reading this book." Bell said as he sits down and begun reading.
Bell learns about two types of magic like Inherited Magic is depends on the race and what kind of magic they can do, and other one being Acquired Magic is determined by a Falna or a Blessing from a God. The more Bell read the book, the more it feels like he is drawn into something and began answering questions from a voice.
(Mindscape)
"What does magic means to you?"
"A weapon against a weakness. My own weakness." Bell answered.
"What does magic look like to you?"
"Fire, blazing hot. The opposite of the weak person I am. Red fire."
"And what is it you seek to become?"
"As quick as lightning, to become strong just like Ais, but also to be strong for others closest to me." Bell smiled.
"Is that all?"
"Well, I… like to become a hero like the stories I used to read, and for him to call me a hero just once." Bell answered honestly and strongly.
"How childish!" The voice laughed a bit.
"Sorry, but… That's just me." Bell smiled.
(Reality)
"Bell, Bell! Oh, please be okay." Leina worried.
"I'm sure he's fine." Hestia hoped she's right.
"Look, he's waking up." Melpha alerted.
True to the Priestess's words, Bell woke up seeing everyone here and confuse of what happened to him. Hestia decided to check up on his states.
"So, you were reading that weird book and then you fell asleep?" Hestia asked.
"Did anything else happen?" Leina asked too.
"I'm not sure." Bell confused.
"Well, at least nothing bad happened to you." Hestia said, then she became shocked upon seeing Bell's new current statues.
"Goddess, what's wrong?" Bell asked.
"Magic." Hestia said confusing the others.
"You can… use magic!" Hestia revealed shock, and then Leina and Bell shouted in shock.
"It's Fire Bolt. I really never thought you pick up a magic ability." Hestia said as Bell looks at his statues.
"But how did it even happen?" Leina wondered.
"(Probably because of that Liaris Freese.)" Hestia thought guessed.
"A-Amazing, I can use magic! I can use magic!" Bell cheered.
"I'm happy for you, Bell!" Melpha clapped her hands smiling.
"Hold it." Hestia held out her hand getting the three mortals' attention.
"I assume that you three have heard is the only way to make magic work is by saying a specific chant." Hestia mentioned.
"I think I heard of something like that." Leina said.
"Usually, when you first gain a magical ability, a spell will appear in your statues. However, somehow your statues isn't telling me anything except for quick attack magic." Hestia explained.
"Does that mean Bell's magic skill doesn't need a chant?" Melpha guessed with her arm between her breasts.
"Most likely, you should probably test it our when you two go down to the Dungeon tomorrow." Hestia suggested.
"Tomorrow?" Bell winced a bit.
"Come on, Bell. You just got a new skill and it's best to wait on using it at the right place." Leina stated.
"She's right, now off to bed with everyone." Hestia ordered.
Bell decided to do as his Goddess says and soon, everyone went to bed, except Bell waited for everyone to be fully asleep so he can sneak out of the church and made his way to the Dungeon at night.
Bell went down and found a lone goblin as it saw him and starts charging to consume its next prey while Bell begins to use his new magic skill.
"Fire Bolt!" Bell fired the attack spell which completely destroyed the goblin in one shot.
Bell looks at himself for a few seconds and felt how amazingly awesome having a magic skill feels like as he went on finding more monsters like goblins and other little monsters using his Fire Bolts on them, and he didn't care about picking out the magic stones after killing the monsters.
Soon, he got tired from using Fire Bolt so much and realize that he went deeper in the Dungeon thinking it's time to head back up, but his body gave in to the exhaustion and fell unconscious.
"Wait until they hear this, you defeated a Floor Boss all on your own." Riveria amazed as she and Ais walked up the path.
Ais only has tiny scratches on her armor and left side of the white shirt is ripped showing the bottom half of her breast, she feels proud that she managed to beat the Floor Boss knowing she is getting stronger for her goal.
A weird black mist was about to consume Bell, but it quickly retreated as Riveria and Ais arrived at the scene seeing Bell unconscious on the floor.
"It looks like mind down, he must've used magic without knowing what would happen to him." Riveria figured out.
"It's him, from that night at the Hostess of Fertility." Ais recognized.
"Ah yes, with the Hestia Familia. Also, the one from our mistake with the Minotaur." Riveria remembered.
"I would like to make it up to him." Ais said.
Soon, Bell woke up from his exhausting state seeing Ais's face right above his though didn't recognize her at first accidentally calling her mother.
"No, I'm not your mother." Ais said.
"Am I dreaming?" Bell asked, a little tiring.
"No, this is not a dream." Ais answered, blushing a little from having Bell's head rest on her lap and petting his head a little.
It took Bell five seconds to register all of this and began sweating like a pig that he is in such a position, and the next thing he did was run away from Ais by rolling away like a ball while screaming.
"Why does he end up running away?" Ais asked.
(Hestia Church)
Bell ran as fast as he could to make it back home still in shock that he was so close to Ais like that and feels really bad for running away on her like that, then suddenly he stops when a sword is pointed at his beck by an angry Leina.
"G-Good morning, Leina?" Bell greeted scare.
"Bell, you snuck out last night to try out that new spell. Didn't you?" Leina asked sarcastically.
"Uh, yes…" Bell answered.
"Well then, I hope you had fun because Goddess Hestia found out something else about that book of yours." Leina said.
Bell and Leina went downstairs to the room where Hestia and Melpha are waiting, both angry at Bell for sneaking out and Melpha scolded him for betraying his Goddess's words, then came to the truth about the book.
"A Grimoire?" Bell surprised.
"Yeah, it's a book that makes you do magic just by reading it. So, it's super powerful because once the first person reads it, all the power disappears without a trace." Hestia showed the empty pages to Bell much to his shock.
"Oh no, I have to go apologize and…" Bell panicked.
"No, Bell, it won't do you any good." Leina stopped him as he asked why.
"According to Goddess Hestia, one single Grimoire is worth the top items at Hephaestus's store, maybe even ten times more." Melpha informed, causing Bell to feel the coldness of fear.
Hesita offered to take care of the situation with the empty book, but Bell and Leina were able to convince her not to and they took it to the restaurant to apologize to Mamma Mia and Syr was playing the innocent victim. But Mamma Mia pointed out the damage is done and the idiot who left it here is the one to blame, Bell would have insisted on taking responsibility, but the woman gave him a scary look to shut it.

Bell has finally gained his fire spell skill from reading the powerful Grimoire book which he got it from Syr at the restaurant, and he sure had fun using it all night until he found himself on the lap of his first crush Ais before running away in the form of a ball. I always found that part funny.
