A/N: I'm done with this story. I came to dislike Ling, I found her boring, and uninteresting and I gave her a generic design. I don't want to write for a story I actively hate. What's down below is what I managed to write before saying to myself, "No more,"
About 20 hours passed, and Ling was having a meal with Goku and Gohan. It's also the first time Ling had a complete 8 hours of sleep. She's never felt so refreshed, "So Gohan taught you everything he knows?" Goku asked with a mouth full of food.
"Yeah, he based his fighting style on yours and Piccolo's. I tried to find my own, but I can't quite get a hang of it," Ling explains. She wraps her tail around the handle of her mug and brings it up to her lips.
"Did he finish your training?" Goku asked.
Ling shook her head, "No, he died when fighting the androids," the white-haired Saiyan said, looking away, "Not even his training was complete, so he had to learn the rest on his own,"
"I see. That means I just need to finish what Gohan started," Goku smiles.
Ling was about to eat. When suddenly, Ling, Gohan and Goku sensed Piccolo Ki skyrocketing. "Mr. Piccolo is fighting the androids! We need to help him!" Gohan shouts and is about to fly off when Goku stops him.
"No, Gohan! The three of us aren't strong enough to help him. I hate to say this, but we'll just be in the way," Goku said with a pained expression. He then looks in the direction where he's sensing Piccolo's Ki, "All we can do is believe in him,"
"I just wish we could help him," Ling growls. She stands next to Goku.
Goku puts a hand on her shoulder, "I understand your frustration. Trust me, this is all we can do,"
"Okay," Ling sighs and clenches her fists.
Together with Gohan and Goku, Ling keeps a lock on Piccolo's Ki. They feel his Ki go higher and higher. By how strong Piccolo is, Ling believes he can take down the androids. "How did he get that strong?" Ling asked.
"He fused with Kami, his other self. But doing that, the Dragon Balls don't exist right now," Goku explains.
"That's going to be a problem," Ling gasped.
"Don't worry about it, Ling. I know how to fix that problem," Goku winks and gives a thumbs up.
"You're talking about New Namek, right, Dad?" Gohan asked happily.
Goku nods, "Yeah, I don't know where it is, but I can find it,"
The three of them sense one more person near Piccolo, and their blood runs cold.
"Is that Cell?!" Ling gasped.
"Yeah, and he's stronger now," Goku growls.
Piccolo's Ki then suddenly vanishes. "MR. PICCOLO!" Gohan shouts. He powers up and is about to fly off, but Goku catches him.
"No, Gohan! You can't go!" Goku said firmly.
Ling didn't move because she remembered her first encounter with Cell. The horrid images of that poor man remain fresh in her mind.
