Brief Reference Guide

This is my first reference guide page to give you an understanding of what somethings are in case some don't know and so you wouldn't see my Author's notes for every tidbit of information about what I said. Here's some terms and names of martial arts and military terms you will see in this story.

Dirty Wrestling: Dirty wrestling is the more street fighting orientation of wrestling that uses more lethal techniques seen in the ancient Greek hybrid battle form Pankration used by the Spartans in regard to its more brutal technique.

CQC: CQC or Close Quarters Combat is a method of combat in close range that involves hand to hand combat, or fighting with melee weapons. Said practice is used by Gangsters, Police or Military units.

CQB: Close Quarters Battle as it's also known is a method of combat involving room to room clearing of all enemy opposition.

CTU: Counter Terrorism Unit is a unit with a role of counteracting terror cells across the world.

Fencing: Is the more technical focus of swordsmanship focusing more on blade and footwork.

Chausson: is a French Sailor invented street fighting form and progenitor of modern savate.

Neo Classical martial arts: Neoclassical martial arts is traditional martial arts that have been refined and improved upon.

Herbalism: is the study and practice of herbal medicine.

Wushu: An umbrella term for Chinese martial arts.

Krav Maga: Also known in Israel as contact combat. is a hybrid fighting system that combines various fighting techniques of various martial arts to be used for more combative focuses.

ARB: Is a Russian method standing for Army Hand to Hand fight in English translation that combines Boxing Sambo, Wrestling, Karate and Judo into one fighting form.

Counterterrorism: is counteractions against terrorist acts

Counter insurgency: military or political actions against guerillas and revolutionaries

Insurgency: actions carried out by guerillas and revolutionaries.

Irregular warfare: is warfare that focuses on small scale warfare such as hit and run fighting, stealth engagements, and assassination.

Asymmetrical warfare: warfare between two opposing forces that would involve unconventional warfare tactics.

Bujinkan: Is an encyclopedic combat system of various lineages from various schools of Samurai martial tactics and skills to various schools of ninjitsu.
