Here we are, chapter 18 and the first chapter of TLK 2: Simba's Pride! Enjoy!
"The film we just finished was about how Simba became king. This next one is about how Kiara and Kovu healed the rift between the Pridelands and the Outlands." Dusty announced. Timon grumbled and handed Pumbaa the grubs. "Don't worry, Timon, the one after this is about you and Pumbaa." Spirit added. "And before anyone asks, yes, this will show some of what happened while the Lion Guard and Makini were away at the Tree of Life." With that, the two siblings pressed play on their remote.
It is pre-dawn. Giraffes graze peacefully.
BS:
INGONYAMA NENGW' ENAMABALA
A breeze carrying milkweed floss blows by. One giraffe looks up and begins to walk away.
Goigoi got up to try to chase the breeze, but Reirei pushed him back down.
INGONYAMA NENGW' ENAMABALA
The breeze continues to blow. Elephants trumpet and begin to walk away.
INGONYAMA NENGW' ENAMABALA
Monkeys chatter and swing through the trees.
INGONYAMA NENGW' ENAMABALA
The silhouettes of birds fly past the moon.
Once again, everyone was spellbound by the scenery.
MS:
NIGHT
Below the birds, several animals march in a straight line.
AND THE SPIRIT OF LIFE,
A baby okapi bounds after its mother.
Beshte was reminded of his okapi friend Ajabu.
CALLING…
The Pride Landers march in a line across the savanna.
BS:
OH, OH, IYO!
MS:
MAMELA(OH, OH, IYO!)
Rafiki stands on the promontory of Pride Rock, gesturing to the crowd below.
UBUKHOSI BO KHOKO. WE NDODANA YE SIZWE SONKE.
The sun rises, silhouetting the marching Pride Landers.
"The sunrises really are beautiful in the Pridelands." Nirmala commented. "Agreed." Surak added.
WAIT!
Flamingos fly past Mount Kilimanjaro.
THERE'S NO MOUNTAIN TOO GREAT
Several topi join a line of marching Pride Landers.
HEAR THE WORDS AND HAVE FAITH (OH, OH, IYO!)
"What's going on this time?" Madoa inquired. 'They said this was about me and Kovu, so this might be what I think it is. Oh no…'Kiara thought.
OH! (OH, OH, IYO!)
HAVE FAITH
Several lines of Pride Landers march toward Pride Rock.
BS:
HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA, HEY MAMELA.

HE LIVES IN YOU (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
Rafiki lifts his arms to the sky, where Mufasa's spirit watches, smiling.
Mufasa smiled as he remembered that day, but part of him still wished he could've attended his granddaughter's presentation in the fur. Sarabi and Scar noticed this and comforted him.
HE LIVES IN ME (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
The breeze stirs Rafiki's mane. He smiles, his eyes closed.Rafiki gestures to the Pride Landers, who are gathered below Pride Rock.
HE WATCHES OVER… (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
EVERYTHING WE SEE (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
The breeze carries across a stream.
INTO THE WATER… (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
The Pride Landers bow.
All the Pridelanders felt peaceful, for even though Mufasa was gone, he still lived in the hearts and minds of his family and subjects.
INTO THE TRUTH… (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
A giraffe lifts its head. Zazu flies up to the promontory of Pride Rock.
IN YOUR REFLECTION… (HELA, HEY MAMELA)
Simba and Nala approach Rafiki. Nala holds an infant Kiara by her scruff.
Kiara groaned and blushed. "Looks like it's your presentation, Kiara." Kion smirked.
HE LIVES IN YOU.
Rafiki embraces Simba and Nala.
BS:
INGONYAMA NENGW' ENAMABALA
Rafiki gently takes Kiara into his arms.
"Aww, is that you? You look adorable." Kovu teased. "Kovu!" The young lioness's face turned redder.
INGONYAMA NENGW' ENAMABALA
Zazu bows. Rafiki holds Kiara up in the air. Below, the Pride Landers erupt into cheers. Mufasa smiles down on the ceremony. Kiara grins playfully.
"Aww. She looks so sweet." Ma cooed. "She was, although she could be a little mischievous at times due to her brother's influence." Nala smiled. Kopa whistled innocently.
The breeze stirs Simba's mane. He closes his eyes and smiles.
MS:
HE LIVES IN YOU.
Nala sighs and smiles.
FS:
OH, YEAH!
MS:
HE LIVES IN YOU! (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
Kiara swats at the milkweed floss that is being carried on the breeze.
"Reminds me of when our Rani was that small." Sahasi chuckled. "Yes, except she swatted at the flower petals the birds were scattering." Ananda reminisced.
WOO! HE LIVES IN ME. (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
The breeze stirs Rafiki's mane. He smiles and closes his eyes. The Pride Landers continue to cheer down below.
HE WATCHES OVER (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
The Pride Landers bow.
Makucha and Chuluun look at the screen hungrily and lick their lips, but a warning rattle from Rafiki and Makini's staffs made them stop.
EVERYTHING WE SEE (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
The Pride Landers bound into a nearby stream.
INTO THE WATER... (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
Two elephants rear onto their hind legs.
INTO THE TRUTH (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
The elephants slam back down to the ground, startling a flock of birds out of a tree. The birds fly past Pride Rock.
IN YOUR REFLECTION (HELA, HEY MAMELA. HELA)
Rafiki lowers Kiara and marks her forehead with red paint.
HE LIVES IN YOU. (INGONYAMA NENGW' ENAMABALA)
BS:
INGONYAMA NENGW' ENAMABALA. INGONYAMA NENGW' ENAMABALA.
Nala and Simba nuzzle Kiara.
"Where were you during this?" Fuli asked. "I was sitting with my grandmothers." Kopa answered. "He could barely sit still." Sarafina added.
MS:
HE LIVES IN YOU. (INGONYAMA NENGW' ENAMABALA. INGONYAMA NENGW' ENAMABALA)
Nearby, Timon and Pumbaa watch happily. Timon is resting on Pumbaa's head.
TIMON:
Ah, Pumbaa. Look at that little guy. A chip off the old block! And you gotta know who's gonna raise 'im!
"Her parents, obviously." Azaad quipped.
PUMBAA:
His parents?
TIMON:
Okay, sure. Get technical. But who's gonna teach him the really important stuff? Like how to belch?
Timon walks to the edge of Pumbaa's snout. *belches*
"One, I don't think that qualifies as important, and two, gross." Tiifu spoke.
And dig for grubs?
Timon jumps to the ground.
I'm telling ya, buddy, it's gonna be like old times. You, me, and the little guy.
"Little girl, you mean." Ullu corrected.
He gestures to himself, Pumbaa, and Kiara.
RAFIKI
laughs
It is a girl.
"Did they not know beforehand?" Ono asked. "We wanted to surprise them." Simba explained.
TIMON:
Girl.
TIMON AND PUMBAA:
Look at each other in exaggerated shock
GIRL?! Oy.
They collapse in a dead faint. The title card appears.
Everyone laughs. "Is there a problem with that?" Kiara teasingly raises an eyebrow. "No, no problem at all." Pumbaa answered.
"It's just you can't really teach a girl those things, since they usually find them gross." Timon clarified. "He's not wrong." Zuri agreed.
"Kiara was a little surprise for everyone, since there hadn't been a girl born to the royal family since Queen Uru, her great-grandmother." Rafiki added. Mufasa and Scar felt a pang in their hearts at the mention of their mother. "Really?" Anga asked. "Yes." The mjuzi replied.
TLK2 is off to a great start! Stay tuned for more coming soon!
