Earlier that same day, the Cybersquad was enjoying their summer vacation at the local city park, playing an exciting game of frisbee. However, their game was abruptly interrupted as the sky filled with tall, dark clouds, followed by heavy rainfall. They hurriedly sought shelter in Inez's nearby apartment, thankful to escape the sudden storm.

"Phew! That was a close call!" Matt exclaimed, catching his breath. "It's strange how the storm appeared out of nowhere without any warning."

"Yeah, just when I was getting into the game!" Jackie complained, clearly frustrated.

"Now that we're stuck indoors, what do you guys want to do?" Matt asked, looking around for ideas.

"Well, since my parents aren't home, we practically have the whole place to ourselves," Inez said excitedly. "How about we watch some TV? "May I Have A Word" is about to come on, and it's my new favorite show!"

"Is that because you have a crush on Bow Handsome?" Matt teased, a mischievous grin on his face.

Inez blushed, flustered. "No! I just really enjoy words, okay?" She replied defensively.

"Come on, Nezzie, just admit it," Matt persisted, using his nickname for her.

Inez's face turned even redder, and she hissed, "I don't have a crush on Bow Handsome, and stop calling me Nezzie!"

Jackie stepped in to defuse the situation. "Alright, calm down, you two. Let's just watch the show."

Inez sighed and nodded. "Yeah, I guess so."

"Yeah! You know I didn't mean to upset you, right?" Matt apologized, realizing he had crossed a line.

Inez smiled sympathetically. "Yeah, I know you were just joking around. It's alright."

Just then, Matt's backpack started vibrating vigorously. He reached inside, pulled out his Squawk Pad, and pressed a button. Digit's worried face appeared on the screen. "Hello? Can you hear me, Earthlies?" he asked anxiously.

"Digit, what's wrong?" Jackie asked, concern evident in her voice.

"Don't worry, I'm fine," Digit reassured them. "But I've been having this nagging feeling that something bad is going to happen."

"What kind of bad thing?" Matt inquired, curiosity piqued.

"You know, Hacker! Have you noticed how quiet he's been lately? What if he's up to something?" Digit explained, his worry evident.

"Why is that so bad? We've always managed to outsmart him before," Matt pointed out confidently.

"That's true, but what if this time he outsmarts us and takes over Cyberspace?" Digit responded, his concern deepening. Suddenly, a loud crashing noise interrupted their conversation.

"What was that, Digit? Are you okay?" Jackie asked, alarmed.

"Huh? Oh, that's just me and Dr. Marbles cleaning out the old downstairs storage hall. It hasn't been cleaned in eons!" Digit explained, trying to calm them down.

"And I'd appreciate it if you could lend a hand. It's a massive task for one person!" Dr. Marbles called from the background.

"Sure thing, Doc! I'll be there soon," Digit replied before refocusing on the conversation. "Anyway, I think we should be prepared. What if Hacker has something big planned? We need to find out before it's too late."

Matt reassured him, "Don't worry, Digit. We'll face whatever Hacker throws at us, just like always. Together, we can't be defeated."

Digit hesitated for a moment but finally relented. "Alright, I trust you guys. How about you go to the Northern Frontier and spy on Hacker? I'll be busy with Dr. Marbles, but you can gather information and report back to me."

Inez chimed in, "That sounds like a plan, Digit. We'll go there and find out what Hacker is up to. We'll let you know everything we discover."

"Great! Stay safe, Cybersquad, and remember, we're counting on you," Digit said, a hint of relief in his voice.

"We won't let you down, Digit. Take care," Jackie assured him before they ended the call.

Matt held up his Squawk Pad once more and pressed another button. Soon, a pinkish-purplish vortex materialized on the wall. They exchanged determined glances and, one by one, stepped into the portal.

….

"Hurry up, you Duncebuckets! The faster you build the portal, the sooner I can get rid of those pesky Earth brats!" Hacker bellowed, his impatience evident.

"We're doing our best, boss!" Delete gasped, beads of sweat on his forehead as he worked diligently.

"Yeah, it's not easy with just the two of us!" Buzz complained, hammering nails with haste. "Ouch!" He yelped, accidentally striking his thumb.

"I expect you both to focus on work and stop chattering!" Hacker snapped, irritated.

"Speaking of which, Hacker, what will you do once you've gotten rid of the Cybersquad?" Ledge inquired.

"It's simple, with those Earth brats out of the way, I'll be able to dismantle Motherboard completely! Then, I'll have full control over both the real world and Cyberspace. Picture it: grand statues and paintings of me everywhere, everyone bowing down and obeying my every command!" Hacker envisioned with an evil grin.

"And the best part? The Earth brats have no inkling of what I have planned. Nothing can stop me!" He declared triumphantly.

"Hi, Unky Hacker!" a little girl's voice cheerfully interrupted. Hacker turned to find his niece, Harmony, standing there. He tried to put on a welcoming smile, despite his apprehension about her arrival.

"Harmony, my dear! What a pleasant surprise! I'm thrilled to see you. What brings you here?" He asked, attempting to sound cheerful.

"Auntie said she had to visit her sister in Radopolis for a week, and she asked you to take care of me," Harmony explained. Spotting Buzz and Delete working on something, she exclaimed, "Ooh! What are they building?"

"It's something very important!" Hacker replied, maintaining his facade. "Come inside, my dear. We mustn't disturb them."

"Okay! But first, I want to show you something!" Harmony exclaimed excitedly, rushing into the hideout.

Ledge couldn't hold back his snickering, and Hacker shot him an annoyed glare. "Unky Hacker?" Ledge chuckled under his breath. Rolling his eyes, Hacker refocused on his henchmen. "You two, keep working! I'll be back to check on your progress, and you better not mess anything up!"

"Don't worry, Boss! We've got everything under control," Buzz assured him.

"Yeah, we won't let you down!" Delete added.

….

Meanwhile, behind a large hill not far from the hangar, the Cybersquad arrived, carefully observing Hacker's hideout. They watched intently, unsure of what the building process was leading to, engaging in a lively debate about its purpose.

"All I know is that whatever they're building, it can't possibly be good! Who knows what that contraption is or what it will do? What if it enables them to eliminate Motherboard?" Jackie exclaimed, her worry escalating. "We're in big trouble, BIG trouble!"

"Jackie, calm down! Panic won't help us until we know for sure what they're up to," Matt said, attempting to soothe her anxiety.

"But what should we do? We can't just stand here and do nothing," Jackie insisted, her voice filled with urgency.

Inez chimed in, trying to bring some reason to the situation. "Maybe we should wait and observe until they finish building. Once we understand their plan, we can figure out how to stop them."

"Could it be a portal they're constructing?" Matt speculated, studying the circular structure taking shape.

"A portal? But why would they need a portal?" Jackie asked, her confusion evident.

"Perhaps it's a means for them to travel quickly between cybersites," Inez suggested. "But we can't be certain until we have more information."

"Well, if it truly is a portal, it can't be good news for us," Jackie continued to worry.

"I'm not completely sure it's a portal, but we'll find out soon enough. Our priority should be to stop them before they succeed," Matt determinedly stated, his mind already working on a plan.

"I'll inform Motherboard and Dr. Marbles. Maybe they can provide some insights," Matt said, retrieving his Squawk Pad from his backpack.

….

"We appreciate your vigilance, Earthlies. Keep a close eye on the Northern Frontier and report any findings to us," Motherboard instructed, her voice projecting assurance.

"Don't worry, we'll keep Cyberspace safe. You can count on us," Jackie promised, determination in her tone.

"We won't let you down, Motherboard. You can always count on us!" Matt affirmed, his voice brimming with confidence.

"Thank you, Cybersquad. Stay alert, and remember, together you are a formidable force," Motherboard encouraged them.

"FOR AS LONG AS WE'RE THE CYBERSQUAD, WE'LL STICK TOGETHER AND NEVER GIVE UP!" They proclaimed in unison, their hands forming a tight circle.

Digit couldn't help but chuckle. "Is that the official team cheer?"

"Yep! We thought it would be cool to have our own cheer. It reminds us that we're a team," Jackie explained proudly.

"It was actually Nezzie's idea, by the way," Matt added with a grin.

Inez's cheeks flushed slightly, but she soon joined in the playful laughter as it filled the room, lightening the atmosphere. "But seriously, don't call me Nezzie!" She scolded.

As the circular structure continued to take shape, their speculation grew. The possibility of a portal troubled them, raising questions about its purpose and potential consequences. As the sun began its descent, they reluctantly conceded that it was time to bring their endeavors to a close.

"Thanks for at least trying, Earthlies!" Digit replied with a faint smile. "We'll keep an eye on the Northern Frontier and let you know if anything's up."

"No problem, Didge!" Matt exclaimed. "And don't worry, everything will be fine; there's nothing we can't handle!" He added boastfully.

"I just hope you're right." Digit said quietly. "You know, I can't help feeling that you're going to jinx us someday." He admitted.

"How am I going to jinx us?" Matt asked defensively.

"Don't you think you're being a little too confident?" Digit asked.

Relax Didge, we've defeated him hundreds of times in the past. Sure, he's had some close calls, but we've managed to stop him!" He replied confidently. "So why wouldn't this time be any different?"

"I suppose." Digit scratched his head. "I just don't want to be too confident, that's all."
