Harmony eagerly demonstrated how to create an origami swan by folding it and then pulling the neck away from the body, exclaiming cheerfully, "Ta-da!" As she guided Hacker through the process, his swan turned out to be a bit sloppy and wrinkly compared to Harmony's, while Ledge effortlessly crafted a perfect swan.
"Wow, Ledge, that looks amazing!" Harmony exclaimed with genuine admiration in her voice.
"Why thank you, Harmony. I've only learned from the best!" Ledge replied, turning to look at Hacker with a smirk. "Although, I think that SOMEONE might need some help." Hacker rolled his eyes and sighed in annoyance.
"Don't worry, Unky Hacker. Just keep trying, I'm sure you'll get better! It took me lots of practice before I was able to get the hang of it," Harmony said, trying to encourage him and make him feel better.
"Of course, dear, you're right. I just need more practice." Hacker replied with a faint smile.
Buzz and Delete rushed into the room, shouting. "Boss! Boss! Come quick! The portal is finally done!" Buzz exclaimed with excitement.
"Yeah! Come see! Come see!" Delete exclaimed, jumping up and down with excitement, inviting everyone to witness the completed portal.
Outside the Wreaker, Hacker and his henchmen, along with Harmony and Ledge, gathered to inspect the finished portal frame. Hacker couldn't contain his excitement and burst into laughter. "Yes! Yes! YES!!!! The portal is complete! I must admit, you Dimbots have finally managed to proven your worth." He complimented the two with a hint of surprise and satisfaction.
"Gee, thanks, Boss! It means so much to us!" Delete replied gratefully, his eyes welling up with tears. Compliments from their boss were rare, making it all the more meaningful.
"Now, all we have to do is test it!" Hacker said deviously, pulling a small remote from his pocket. After pressing the large red button in the center, the portal almost immediately activated. Unlike Motherboard's portals, his creation was black with green particles emanating from it. Nevertheless, Hacker couldn't contain his excitement and continued jumping up and down. "Yes! Yes! It works! It works!"
"Wow! That's amazing! But why did you want to make a portal in the first place?" Harmony asked curiously.
Hacker didn't bother to answer her question. Instead, he turned to his henchmen. "Buzz, Delete, let's go! Ledge, I want you to stay here and watch after Harmony while I'm gone!"
"Awww! But why can't we come, Unky Hacker?" She asked, sadness and disappointment filling her tone.
"Harmony, dear, as much as I would like for you to come with us, I'm not exactly sure where this portal will end up, and I don't want you to get hurt," Hacker said sympathetically.
"I guess so," Harmony replied quietly.
"Don't worry, dear, I'll only be gone for a few minutes, it won't be that long," Hacker reassured her.
"Okay, just promise me you'll be okay." Harmony replied.
"Of course, dear!" Hacker spoke as he bent down to hug her.
"AWWW!!!" Ledge, Buzz, and Delete exclaimed in unison. It was rare to see their boss being so soft and kind. Hacker turned and glared at them. He then turned back to Harmony and smiled sympathetically. "Alright, we better get going." He said softly.
"Alright, bye Unky Hacker, bye Buzz, and Delete!" Harmony waved as they, one by one, entered the portal, with Hacker being the last one. He turned around and smiled peacefully at her before stepping into the portal.
….
As the trio stepped out from the portal, they were shocked by what they saw. The real world looked nothing like what they were expecting. Instead of a peaceful scene, they found a city in ruins, with abandoned cars scattered on the streets and giant robots patrolling. Smaller robots were also flying in the sky, capturing terrified crowds of people.
Hacker's face twisted into a sadistic grin. Though unsure of what happened, he believed a genius had taken control of the city. He saw an opportunity to team up with them, combine forces, and take over both Cyberspace and the real world, finally eliminating the Cybersquad.
"Uhh, Boss, are you sure this is a good idea? I'm not so sure about this," Delete asked cautiously.
"Of course it is! What are you, some kind of fool? Look around! They've taken control of the city with all these robots!" Hacker bellowed, his excitement overriding any doubts.
"But how are you planning to find them? They could be anywhere!" Buzz questioned.
"Well, I have a feeling that City Hall or some important building would be a logical starting point," Hacker explained. "Now come on, you Duncebuckets! I want to find them as soon as possible!"
"Alright, we're coming!" Delete shrieked as they hurriedly followed their boss's lead.
Inside City Hall, Hacker and his henchmen observed as one of the robots carried someone they believed to be the mayor from his position. Intrigued, Hacker led the way inside, where they were met with a cacophony of shouting. Curious about what was going on, Hacker cautiously approached the door from where the voices emanated and pressed his ear against it.
"Hey, Boss? What are you...?"
"Quiet, you Dimbot!" Hacker hissed, silencing any potential noise.
Inside the room, Zach and the other villains were engaged in a heated argument over who should rule the city.
"Well, it should be me! If I hadn't managed to get a hold of some Lexonite and rig the cell phone tower in the park, we wouldn't have been able to take down WordGirl!" Mr. Big asserted.
"Yeah, but it was MY idea in the first place, so it should be me!" Zach pouted, feeling a bit defensive.
Chuck nervously interjected, "Yeah, well... what if… what if I wanted to rule over the city too?"
Dr. Two-Brains scoffed dismissing Chuck's idea." Yeah, like that's going to happen!"
"Well, maybe I should rule over the city! We need a leader who's smart, organized, and knows how to handle deadlines, not to mention someone who understands everything about paving pavement. With me in charge, this city will grow and improve, and we'll get rid of all that disgusting nature!" Paisley declared confidently.
"Oh, please!" Victoria Best scoffed. "It should be me because…"
"Yeah, yeah, we know, you'd be a good ruler because, 'you're at best!' We've heard it all before!" Zach replied sarcastically, rolling his eyes at Victoria's self-praise.
"Well then, since you all can't decide, how about if I become the city's new ruler?" a voice beamed, startling everyone. They all turned towards the doorway, where a tall, green-skinned figure stood. Beside him were two robots of some sort, one tall and shrimpy, while the other was short and round.
"And who might you be?" Dr. Two-Brains asked, appearing displeased by the unexpected arrival.
"I'm The Hacker! The most feared cyborg in all of Cyberspace!" Hacker loudly proclaimed.
"Yeah, and I'm Mary Scott, Princess of Ireland," Victoria Best replied, clearly unimpressed.
"What do you want? Can't you see that we've got important things to attend to?" Paisley scowled.
"Well, it's rather simple; I see that you all managed to take over the city," Hacker said with a grin.
"Yeah, and we would've finally gotten rid of our arch enemies, the Kratt brothers, and WordLady, but then these three kids came out of nowhere and ran off with them. We've spent all night looking for them, but so far, no luck!" Dabio explained with frustration.
"What did these three kids look like?" Hacker asked, genuinely interested in the new development.
"Let's see, there was a boy with a green shirt and blue pants, and oh yeah! He also had a red backpack with him," Chuck explained.
"There was also this girl with a yellow shirt and blue shorts; she had tied black hair and some of the TACKIEST jewelry I've ever seen!" Donita continued.
"And there was this much shorter and weaker girl with them; she had glasses and wore a pink shirt with a yellow star on it, a purple jacket, and aqua-green shorts," Gourmand added.
"Hey! These kids sound EXACTLY like the three earth kids who always come to Cyberspace and foil your plans, Boss!" Buzz pointed out.
"That's because they ARE! And you just LET them escape?" Hacker angrily shouted, but his anger was quickly replaced by a realization as an idea that came to mind. "You said you didn't know where they were, right?"
"Well, yeah, they had run into the forest, but that was hours ago; they could be anywhere in the world by now," Dabio replied, expressing doubt.
"I think I know where they could possibly be!" Hacker said, his grin growing larger as a cunning plan formed in his mind.
