[Training Camp From Hell – Part 6]
When Nedzu got the email from Aizawa that detailed to him that Tsuyu Asui, a student who had been showing some promise in her future as a hero, had died because of that Vampire, somehow, Nedzu was both furious and confused.
Furious because another student was caught in the crossfire between The Speedwagon Foundation and whoever was targeting them, and confused as to how that could've happened. The email explained how she had been planted with one of the Flesh Bud things that Sugimoto had described. But that didn't explain how that happened.
It took him a while to put the pieces together on how exactly Tsuyu Asui met her unfortunate fate, but eventually, he did. The only time that one of his students could've been able to be caught off guard and ambushed long enough for The Vampire to get its monstrous hands on them would be when the lockdown was lifted for Students for the rest of the day on July 26th, 2124.
The Vampire most likely knew that it only had one shot, and using that logic, it took advantage of the opportunity it was given, and in doing so, guaranteed that at least one more student from Class 1 – A would meet a rather tragic end. Whatever it was that Tsuyu was "ordered" to do had succeeded in causing chaos to spread throughout the training camp when she was "activated", so to speak. And seeing as she failed in whatever The Vampire wanted her to do, she was killed by The Flesh Bud as a result.
However, it should be noted that Kira Yoshihara and Aizawa both tried to stop The Flesh Bud from killing Tsuyu Asui. Aizawa had noted that when the two of them closed in on the creature, The Flesh Bud seemed to writhe and squirm faster than it had originally. Meaning that the creature was sentient enough to know that it was in danger, and sped up the process so that its sole purpose was completed before it perished in the process of silencing Tsuyu Asui.
The mammal hadn't expected to be given such aggravating information the moment he woke up. Especially after not sleeping for three days doing legal work for his ongoing lawsuit against the Ida family and the Idaten Agency for Slander and Defamation towards U.A. Something that, mind you, U.A. was being dragged for as the public saw it as a large school silencing a grieving family. To that, he scoffed. He was just doing what had to be done to protect his school from false rumours of neglect.
To some, his actions and his words might have been disturbing, almost villainous. But when you consider the fact that Nedzu was not a human, and didn't need to think like a human most of the time, his actions and mindset made sense. At his core, he was a Rat. Nothing more, and nothing less. He wasn't supposed to be what he was, and now he was forced into a position as a "hero" and as a principal lording over a bunch of young humans.
To that end, Nedzu tried to detach himself from his students so he didn't suffer any emotional damage should anything have happened to them—not that he had many emotions after all of those experiments. Besides, humans weren't worth losing any sleep over, nor were they worth shedding a tear about. At least, not to him.
At the same time, this was someone from his school. Someone the parents had trusted him to take care of, and had trusted him to make sure they were able to get through these next few years of their life relatively safe and sound—this was a hero course, after all, and some accidents were going to happen regardless of what either party wanted. But that was neither here nor there.
It hadn't even been a full semester since someone from U.A. had died. It had been maybe two months to a month ago, and that was if he was remembering correctly. He had a lot on his mind as of late, and even with a brain like his, there were times when he could forget even the simplest of things.
All of that aside, one thing was clear about this situation. And that was that it shouldn't have happened. There was no excuse. The Vampire was starting to prove more of a nuisance than it really should've been. At any rate, it was going to become target number one not only by him but also by the SWF if this kind of thing kept happening. He had no idea if Jonathon had been emailed about what had happened, but chances were that he was informed, especially because his son was in the same class as the victim of this horrible tragedy.
All of this resulted in what he was currently doing, that being where he was now sitting in front of the Asui family—the mother and the father, anyway—whom he had called to have an in-person meeting with the pair. Talking over the phone with the student's parents made his tone of voice sound more detached and unsympathetic, as well as making him seem more distant than he technically was. And while he couldn't tell them the full truth, he could tell them what technically happened.
It was a rude thing to do—to not tell the whole truth of the situation at hand, but if one were to be in his shoes one would understand his reasoning. After all, why expose something as deadly as that Vampire to a pair of parents who would potentially try and seek revenge? In a superhuman society, that would be far more likely to happen. That, and he had a contractual obligation to keep his mouth shut, so there was also that.
When the two parents entered his office, they shared a quick greeting, before the two sat down in front of his desk. The two parents looked at him, slight confusion in their eyes. They were most likely wondering what this in-person meeting was about. He had mentioned over the phone when he arranged this meeting that it was about Tsuyu and that he'd give them more details if they showed up in person. To that end, they had done just as he asked.
"Is something the matter, Headmaster? Our daughter didn't do anything wrong, did she?" The mother questioned as Nedzu's expression knit into a grimace, whilst he put out his Cuban Cigar, before looking at the two parents of Tsuyu Asui.
The mother of Tsuyu looked almost exactly like her in every way, with the only exception being that her head was a little more round, and quite literally shaped like a sideways egg. Her hair was the same as Tsuyu's, as was the case with her skin tone. She appeared to look like a frog human, rather than either a human or a frog. Ganma Asui was the opposite of that, looking more like a frog that had learned to walk upright, with the advantage of being able to grow to similar heights to humans, which was no slight against him. It just showed how diverse Quirks could be in the modern era.
The mother was wearing a blue wool open-short-sleeve coat, as well as a button-up white shirt with long sleeves, along with a pair of dark green jeans, held up with a black belt and a copper belt buckle designed to look like a frog. The father was wearing a similar shirt, and similar pants, though his jeans were light brown to contrast his dark brown frog skin, held up by a similar belt. Both were wearing black running shoes, and both were sitting with an anxious look in their eyes.
Both of them had the same frog-like Quirk that Tsuyu Asui had. Seeing as they came from a closed community that consisted of frog Quirk users, that was to be expected. Many people assumed that the community in question was full of inbreeding, all because the Quirks were the same.
That wasn't true, obviously, otherwise, it would've been impossible for such a community to exist. Just like in the wild, there were plenty of different kinds of frog Quirks that gave them plenty of different abilities with a similar base, that being a frog.
In fact, if Nedzu was correct, Ganma's Quirk was Bull Frog, which gave him extra physical strength. It had been where Tsuyu's strength had come from. Unlike his wife, he had brown scaly skin like that of a bullfrog and had short black hair. He was also larger than his wife by at least a foot and a half, and from just a glance he also appeared to have the body of a bodybuilder. Whether it was natural to his Quirk or if he had built it up to be that way, Nedzu didn't bother to ask.
"I second what my wife asked. Is everything alright? Is our daughter in trouble, Headmaster?" Ganma questioned, his voice hoarse, most likely from not drinking anything before coming here. Or, perhaps that was just how his voice naturally sounded? Honestly, Nedzu had no idea and wasn't going to ask.
The chimera sighed, taking a sip from his coffee. When he put his cup down, he had closed his eyes and prepared himself to tell them the grave news. His expression became sullen, as did his body language. "I suppose it would be better if I said it like it is, rather than try to butter the pair of you up with niceties. But… I recently received word from Eraserhead, your daughter's teacher, that last night at 9:30 PM, she had disappeared after going on a walk in the woods around the camp."
"Is… Is she alright, Headmaster? Did they find her?" Beru questioned, worry entering her tone as Nedzu sighed, lowering his head. He watched as Ganma put a supportive hand on his wife's shoulder. If Nedzu had a heart that worked like a human's heart did, he probably would've felt his heart crack at the gesture, especially after knowing the information that he knew.
"I'm getting to that, Mrs. Asui," Nedzu replied, clearing his throat. This was going to be a long explanation. He knew it was, seeing as he had to do a bunch of improvised lying to get across what had "happened", and so with that in mind, he spoke. "Before I begin, I request you two to stay quiet until I'm done with all of what I wish to say regarding this topic. Afterward, you can talk as much as you wish. Are we in agreement?"
The two parents looked at one another. He could see the skepticism in their eyes but nonetheless, they nodded in agreement. Nedzu grunted in confirmation, and when he did, he took one last sip of his coffee to wet his throat, before beginning.
"Tsuyu was last seen with everyone during a special exercise meant to gauge what everyone needed to work on for training. To skip over details that aren't needed for the conclusion both seeing as we don't have a lot of details regarding the in-between, and also regarding the fact I am on a tight schedule today, unfortunately, at 9:00 PM last night, Tsuyu was later found without a head. From what we gathered from the preliminary investigation conducted by the heroes on-site, it was likely bitten off by some predator, if the bite-mark-esque markings on her neck are to be believed.
"However, considering their current location, it isn't hard to believe that to be the case, seeing as there are known predators within the woods they are currently in. Though it was a shock that it had happened the way that it did, all of the Heroes at the camp are currently conducting a thorough investigation to see if foul play was possible. Should we find any more information regarding the case, we will inform you immediately, as per our policy."
It pained him to lie for personal reasons, but this was protocol for anyone who had met their end at the hands of The Vampire. The Speedwagon Foundation wanted to keep its existence a secret so that the public didn't freak out. The Speedwagon Foundation was known to keep secrets, especially ones like this. However, now that he was being forced to lie, he wasn't all too fond of the situation he was being put in. After all, he quite liked being the one to tell the truth, as it made him feel better about his existence.
Even if Nedzu had a particular pension for disliking humans, there was no denying that telling a parent that their offspring was dead, no matter their species, was a disheartening thing to do. For someone like Nedzu, it wasn't as if he was without regret. He regretted lying to the Asui family, and he regretted having to keep information from them due to his contract with the SWF.
But… did he care that Tsuyu Asui was dead? Not particularly. Oh sure, it was a shame that such a young life ended at the hands of that blasted Vampire—the same vampire who had killed Ida Tenya, whose death had caused him more problems than he wanted to admit, and the same Vampire who was able to get past his defence systems. If anything, he was furious because he was being bested by a freak of nature, even compared to his standards.
There was not a single shred of empathy in Nedzu's heart. Not since it had been stripped away by those damned researchers. But that still didn't change the fact that Nedzu was annoyed at the loss of yet another student. It was going to be a PR nightmare, and because of that, he was going to have to stay up for another four nights in a row, again. Something that Nedzu was not a fan of doing, contrary to popular belief.
The reaction that Beru and Ganma Asui had was to be expected. Beru was about ready to break down from the news that her eldest daughter was deceased, and Ganma was furious if the raging inferno behind his eyes was anything to scoff at. Nedzu himself stared at the couple with a neutral expression, taking another sip of his coffee.
"We were assured the camp was safe…" Ganma muttered, his expression twisting into one of righteous fury, glaring at Nedzu. "You promised it would be safe!" He let out a bellowing croak, something that made Nedzu uneasy. But it wasn't as if Ganma could've helped it, he was a frog after all.
"I am well aware of that," Nedzu said, crossing his arms. "But one can not predict mother nature. And if I remember correctly Mr. Asui, I said it was safe from villain activities, not wildlife. It's a camp in the middle of the woods. One cannot control what Mother Nature does, regardless of what we want to happen, or try to predict what is going to happen," Nedzu replied curtly, his tone cold and detached. "Believe me, it was a shock when I got the news. I haven't had the time to even wake up when I was blasted with the news of one of my students being found dead missing a head."
"You gave your word…" Ganma growled, his glare maintained. "You said that my daughter would be safe if she remained in The Hero Course. First the lockdown, now this… do you really think you'll get away with everything!? U.A. was said to be the most protected school out of the three options available… but now I see differently…."
Nedzu sighed, bottling his annoyance as he coughed into his paw. This was starting to get out of hand, and quite frankly he didn't like Ganma's tone. But, then again, his daughter was dead and he was just finding out. He could give him some leeway for that. "Tell me, Ganma Asui. Would blame the victim of a terrorist attack for the deaths of the innocent?"
"Wha—"
"Answer the question, Ganma Asui," Nedzu interrupted, narrowing his beady black eyes at the frog as Gamna kept his glare steady. After a moment of staring down one another, he answered.
"No… I wouldn't."
"Then you'd be wise to shut up. I don't like this anymore as you do. Tsuyu Asui was an amazing student and had a bright future ahead of her. Her death is unfortunate, and something no one saw coming. I—"
"You're lying…" Beru spoke up, making Nedzu snap to attention. The woman looked at him, wiping a tear from her left eye, her expression perpetually stuck in neutral though her voice spoke clear of the amount of malice that seeped through. "You're hiding something… I can tell. It's in your eyes…."
"Damnit…" Nedzu thought, chewing on his tongue. That… that wasn't good. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything that could be done about it. A flame-like red aura appeared over him, as a single mechanical pawed hand appeared on the desk. It was connected by a string-like limb, stitched together and mixed with a fleshy upper arm. The rat, dog, and bear mixed head floated above Nedzu, its bloodshot red eyes glaring down at the Asui family, its lion-esque mouth pulling back into a fierce snarl, with ectoplasmic drool dripping from the sides of its lips.
The rest of the chimera Stand's body rested like that of a snake wrapped around Nedzu's own body, almost as if it was protecting him, while the other human-like hand grabbed the edge of the desk, gripping into the wood and cracking it. The hand was connected to a similar-looking arm to the one that was resting on his desk, though that didn't matter.
"The Animal In Me…" Nedzu muttered. When he did, the chimera-like Stand snarled as the two parents looked at Nedzu, confused. "It is a saying that keeps me calm. To remind myself that I am not a human. I am an experiment made by a bunch of greedy humans who wanted to test the limits of Quirk science. I always try to remind myself that at least once a day. To humble myself so that I don't get an over-inflated ego. Not to mention, it's so that I never forget my beginnings. Not only that, but it allows me to keep a level head, despite my shortcomings."
"What does that have to do with you lying to—"
"That being said," Nedzu interrupted Beru, his tone sharpening as he glanced over at the woman. "There are certain things that make me lose my cool no matter what I say to myself. One of those things is being accused of lying. I hate being told I'm a liar. Everyone I ever met tells me I'm just a small human with a strange Quirk that changes my appearance, like most other Mutant-Type Quirks, despite that I am genetically a Rat, with Dog and Bear DNA thrown into the mix.
"Every day, be it by some stupid investor, or some hair-brained journalist, I am told that my experiences aren't real. That you worthless, spineless, careless humans could never harm anyone, ever, especially to that degree, when the society that we live in directly contradicts that—where even some of my own student's lived experiences directly contradict that pathetic, annoying, revolting notion. I've been called a liar all of my life. So you can see why I hate being called one.
"Humans have been atop the food chain for hundreds of millions, if not billions of years thanks to their minds, wealth, and abilities. So it only comes naturally that other species will evolve to become a competitor. But when one came close, they were wiped out. Like the orangutans. Humans got scared and wiped out their competition. They tried to do the same to me. Instead, they created a monster. One that's smarter than them, and one that's more vindictive and sadistic than they could ever imagine.
"All of this to say, there are other creatures out there that have existed for far longer than you worthless primates. Creatures that are anomalies to humanity, but that I've known about for a long time both during my time of heightened existence, and my time being a simple lab rat. Creatures that dwell in the darkness, or creatures that have blended into human society so well, to the point that they are extremely difficult to separate from other, normal humans. And I don't mean Mutant Quirk users, just to clarify," his Stand growled as it cracked the table, something that Ganma noticed, as he looked back up at The Headmaster with shocked and confused eyes. Beru was terrified, and Ganma's right hand had clenched into a fist, meaning he was ready to jump in and defend his wife should something happen, not that anything was going to happen.
Besides, Animal In Me was a simple Stand that allowed him to retain his intelligence, while holding back his animalistic side. Something he could switch between at any given time thanks to his Stand. It wasn't all that dangerous in his current state, but in his animalistic state… well, he didn't remember much when he was in that state, but the last person who he had fought with his Stand active had lost a hand, a lower leg, and their lower jaw.
Nedzu frowned, grabbed his coffee cup, and took yet another sip, his expression and eyes giving way to a more annoyed and upset version of himself. He didn't like talking down to grieving parents, but once he started going, he couldn't stop talking.
"Due to a contract I have signed with The Speedwagon Foundation, I am not allowed to tell you what really happened to your daughter. But it's better for you that you don't know the details, aside from the facts. She was killed in a brutal way, to the point where it seemed impossible had I not seen it once before. You should know that her last moments were in absolute agony. That what had killed her took pleasure in her suffrage. The creature in question has been targeting Class 1 – A for some time now for reasons unknown. A creature that has stayed elusive for decades, and has only been found out recently."
"Stop talking…" Ganma rumbled, his body shaking as Beru was openly sobbing. Nedzu smirked, tilting his head with a sadistic gleam in his eyes. He could feel his malice burning, and his want to rub salt in the wound humming incessantly in the back of his head. Against his better judgment, he continued.
"Oh? But I thought you wanted to know the truth. Or is the truth so bad that you can't handle it?" Nedzu mocked, a hatred unlike any other rolling off of him. His beady black eyes narrowed even further, as he glared at the two parents. "You were the ones who called me a liar. So I'm telling you the truth. That a monster of unknown power, intellect, and ability killed your daughter and that we know nothing of where it is. For all we know, it could be on campus, as it has shown its ability to break through our security system without so much as trying, despite our best efforts and help from the Japanese and American military.
"Do not misunderstand me, Asui Beru, Asui Ganma, I lie sometimes to protect myself. But other times, I lie to ensure that no one has to deal with the information I receive, especially the gruesome details. As for your daughter's remains, they will be delivered to you in the coming days. Do with them what you will. I have said my peace, so if neither of you have anything else to say, you may leave."
The two frog-like Quirk users stared at Nedzu, Ganma openly glaring at the back of Nedzu's head, who was now looking out the window of his office. Animal In Me had been dispersed, and with nothing else said, the Asui's left the office.
Perhaps he had been too harsh on them. Or, perhaps he hadn't been harsh enough. Either way, Nedzu had been all out of care to give at the moment. He needed to get his desk repaired, and Maijima was currently in Kyoto Prefecture with his family. He'd have to outsource the job to someone else. Meaning he'd actually have to pay someone twice the amount he'd typically have to pay Maijima for the repair job on his Desk. And out of his own pocket, no less.
"What a pain…."
xxXXxxXXxx
The death of Tsuyu Asui had rattled a lot of people in Class 1 – A. But no one else had it rattled more than Yoshihara, who had been there to see the death in person. She could hardly close her eyes without seeing the grizzly image in her head or hearing the teen scream out in pain as the demonic creature tore her head apart like some sort of hyper-advanced space parasite, like something out of Dead Space.
Tsuyu's body had been taken to be put into a coffin and delivered to her family. That was standard protocol for heroes or hero schools. Thankfully, everyone who had been affected by Ocean Pearl was back to normal now. Mina got her arm back, but just as the possessed Tsuyu had said, she was now lacking an eye. When she came back to the land of the conscious, she passed out from pain almost immediately and was taken to receive medical treatment.
It was now 8:30 AM, and the tension between everyone in the class was heavy. It would take an extremely hot knife to cut through the tension in the air, especially between Yaoyorozu and Kira. The reason was that Yaoyorozu had got it into her head that because Kira had been near Tsuyu's body, that meant she had to have something to do with Tsuyu's death. That Kira had somehow caused The Flesh Bud to react.
At this point, Kira was done entertaining the idea that Yaoyorozu could, at any point, be a better person than she was portraying herself to be. At one point, Kira thought it possible, even after she had ousted her for having that abortion to the whole class. She believed that Yaoyorozu could change, but at the rate things were going it wasn't going to happen anytime soon.
Kira felt bad for Yaoyorozu because it was clear that she was starting to believe her own words. In the past, probably not. She had agreed with Yaoyorozu on a lot of things. Such as the needless deaths of Death Arms and that kid—something that she didn't have control over due to the lack of being conscious, but she digressed.
But after that? When Ida had died? That was when she got ridiculous. That was when Yoshihara believed that Yaoyorozu was buying into what Bakugo was saying. And now, it seemed that she firmly believed that Kira was no good. That whatever irrational hatred she had for her was most likely justified by some unseen force.
The blonde sighed, taking a bite out of the chunk of tofu from her Miso Soup. She was wearing her hero outfit, as instructed by Aizawa, seeing as she would be filling the role of a teacher today. Training was going to happen regardless of Tsuyu's death. They couldn't be behind schedule any longer, and Tsuyu's death was a prime example of that.
And while Yoshihara was seemingly alone at a table, left alone by everyone else as according to her wishes, in reality, she wasn't alone. As a matter of fact, sitting next to her in all of his spiritual, unseeable glory was Yoshikage Kira, arms crossed as he looked over at Yaoyorozu Momo, eyes narrowed.
"I'm shocked that woman has diluted herself to that point…" Yoshikage murmured, glancing over to Yoshihara, who shrugged, swallowing her food before responding.
"I don't know what to tell you, Jiji. If someone says one thing about you multiple times, eventually it sticks," Yoshihara replied in a hushed whisper. Yoshikage, for his part, sighed, brushing a hand through his ghostly hair, his soulful blue eyes scanning the rest of the class.
The blonde had decided to sit alone, namely because she wanted to talk to Yoshikage. Of course, she didn't tell anyone that. She just said that she wanted some time to think about last night's events. Izuku was still asleep and probably wasn't going to be up for a while due to his injuries, and everyone else understood. So that's all that mattered.
"I could understand if it was because you actually did something. But you didn't. If anything, you tried to save that lass. If you told her that, she would probably change her mind," Yoshikage suggested, only for Yoshihara to wave it off.
"She wouldn't believe me no matter how many times I'd try to tell her that. She's set in her ways. Quite frankly, it'd take a miracle for her to come over to the side of reality. But you know how conspiracy theorists are. They're unhinged, and they won't listen to a single word of reason if they believe what they're saying wholeheartedly," Yoshihara whispered back in reply.
"Yo, Kira. Can I talk to you for a second?" Touya's voice rang out throughout the outside dining area, earning her attention as Yoshikage faded away. The blonde got up from her seat and walked over to the patchy man. He was still dressed in his undercover villain attire, now without the badge on his outer right shoulder. When she got over to the man, he spoke, his tone hushed. "How're you feelin'? You know, after seeing all of… that."
"I'm fine," Yoshihara said, rubbing her upper left arm. Her expression twisting into that of slight discomfort. "I had a hard time sleeping, but… I'm doing a little better now. I just… I was right there… I could've saved her, but I was too slow…" The blonde muttered, a look of regret shining in her eyes as Touya placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
"Listen, kid. It isn't your fault, you know? You tried. I was there. I don't know what exactly it was you tried to do, but I could tell you tried to do something. Besides, I don't think there was much that anyone could do to save that girl," Touya said, earning a quiet hum of acknowledgement from Kira. The blonde didn't know what to say, but she knew that the former villain was right.
Still, if there was nothing that she could've done to save Tsuyu… that meant Izuku was right. More people were going to die, and there wasn't anything they could do to stop it. It was a bad omen, but at least it was over now, right? There was no way anyone else was going to die during this trip. Right?
"Oh, and before I go back to The League for another round of spying, I already told Vlad and Eraserhead, as well as The Pussycats, but The League Of Villains are going to be attacking this camp tonight. They're already preparing for the raid, but I just thought that you would want to know. The Vampire is going to be here, along with another Stand User. So if you want to get your revenge, today will be your chance," Touya said as Yoshihara's eyes widened.
"W-wha—"
"I can't elaborate any more than that. All I know is that I'll be paired up with Twice, a guy who can make duplicates of others who can use the Quirk of the original person. If you see another version of me, that's a clone, because I'll be in the back of the forest. Take it down if you see one. I've told the other teachers the very same, so keep that in mind. If you see the real me, I've made a code word that only I'll know. The code word is Speed, alright?"
Yoshihara went to say something, but stopped, nodding in response as Touya smirked. "Good. Now, I gotta go before Shigaraki gets suspicious. See you soon, kid."
With that, Touya left the outside dining area, and slipped into the forest, most likely to meet up with someone to transport him away from the camp so that he could talk to that Warp Villain. When he left, Yoshihara walked back to her table, looked down at her food, and frowned. Today was going to be a hectic day, especially if what Touya said was true. Still, that blasted Vampire was going to be there, and she'd be damned if she wasn't going to get revenge for all the pain and suffering he's caused.
He had taken away one too many of her friends, and he wasn't going to get away with it any longer. She would make him pay for his crimes, and when she did, Yoshihara would know that Ida and Tsuyu could properly rest in peace, knowing that their killer was dead.
It was the least she could do.
She looked back over at Yaoyorozu. She was still eating breakfast, seemingly poking at her food. Perhaps it was annoyance at the fact that Aizawa-sensei said that training was going to be delayed until the afternoon? Either way, it didn't matter. Honestly, when Aizawa had said that, Yoshihara didn't know why, but now that Touya had explained what he had, it made sense that the reason for the slight delay was because of the new information.
Still, the idea of the camp being raided by the League Of Villains… it wasn't something that she had thought possible. She thought that the troubles of what had happened with Tsuyu were going to be the worst of things to come. But now… now she knew otherwise.
The League of Villains was coming, alongside that blasted Vampire.
The only thing that could come with that- would be more death. Not unless Yoshihara had her way, though. If she was correct, that Vampire was going to make a beeline straight to her. All she needed to do was bait the vampire to where she was. The question was… how?
"So…" Yaoyorozu spoke up, earning everyone's attention. Yoshihara didn't make it known that she was listening, because if she did, the teen would stop talking. "Before we left for the camp, I decided to do more digging into Kira's background…."
"Can you please just stop talking, Yaoyorozu?" Uraraka interrupted a frown on her face, right hand placed on her cheek, slumped forward as she stared at the ravenette. "I mean no offence, but the last time you did that, it nearly got her arrested for something that she needed to do so that she didn't die. I mean, Headmaster Nedzu had said that you shouldn't go snooping around someone's personal life. Didn't you learn the first time?"
"While I appreciate that, and while you're right, he did say that. I'd like to know where all of her behaviours came from. After all, it's better to know everything about a criminal rather than know nothing," Yaoyorozu said as Yoshihara narrowed her eyes.
"Criminal? I mean… don't get me wrong, I don't like Kira. But a criminal?" Mezou asked. "I mean… if you count Death Arms and that kid who was killed, both of which were stated to be accidental, which is still wrong mind you but I digress, what exactly about Kira makes her a criminal? The worst she's done on purpose was killing that psychopath who broke into her house."
"Yeah, and besides, I don't know about you, but unless this is revealing her to be a serial killer, I don't really care," Kaminari said, taking a bite out of a sandwich he made. He swallowed, before continuing. "That, and aren't you afraid that Kira's gonna beat you up?"
"No, I'm not. Because if she knew better, she wouldn't. I'm not one to threaten people with lawsuits, but I will press charges if she does," Yaoyorozu said before pointedly glaring at Kujo. "And no Speedwagon Foundation lawyer is going to get her out of it, Kujo."
"Kick rocks, Yaoyorozou," Kujo spat, getting up from the table. "I have more important things to do than listen to your nonsense." As Kujo said that, he left the table and made his way to the dorm building. His hair was finally starting to grow out, so Yoshihara guessed that he was going to try and put it back into a pompadour.
Yaoyorozu huffed, before looking back to her table. "Well, regardless. I don't see the harm in saying it. It's not anything disastrous, but I found it interesting nonetheless."
"You find paint drying to be interesting, signora," Zeppelli quipped, earning a glare from Yaoyorozu.
"Anyways," Yaoyorozu began pointedly, "I was curious as to what Kira did before she came to U.A. After all, behaviours like hers are often formed from the environment they've grown up in. And while I couldn't find anything based on police records of the last sixteen years, disregarding what happened recently, I was able to find a past employee listing on a very sketchy website."
Yoshihara's eyes widened, and it was at that point that she knew what Yaoyorozu was talking about. She looked over her shoulder, her left hand gripping into the table as Yaoyorozu continued talking. "The site was linked to a club called "Tomodachi no Kuro", the boss of whom was a man by the name of Akira Tomodachi. And as I was looking through the Wayback Machine to check a list of employees of this strip club I—"
It was then that Yoshihara got up from her seat, walked up behind Yaoyorozu, grabbed her by the mouth and yanked her off the table, forcing her to stand up as the blonde looked out from over Yaoyorozu's shoulder and smiled at the table. "I'm going to be borrowing Yaoyorozu for a second. She'll be back in just a moment." The false cheer in her voice made it evident that she was furious, and everyone seemed to note that as they just stared, but otherwise said nothing, looking at one another.
Yaoyorozu was flailing, but it didn't matter. Yoshihara proceeded to drag the ravenette into the dorm building and entered the first room on the right. When she did, the door was slammed shut behind her and locked from the outside by Killer Queen. Afterward, Yaoyorozu was thrown up against the rear wall, staggering the ravenette, before Yoshihara marched toward her, flanked her left, grabbed her by the ponytail with her left hand, and lifted her head upward as she slumped against the wall.
The glare in the blonde's eyes was filled with nothing but pure, raw fury, as she sneered at the ravenette, whose black eyes stared into Yoshihara's. Her eyes were also filled with hate, though for a different reason. "You bitch—"
Yoshihara balled her right hand into a fist and slammed it into her mouth, bursting her upper lip, and drawing blood. The ravenette's head knocked against the wall as she gasped. "If you were smart you would keep your mouth shut. Understood?"
"I—"
"I said, understood." Yoshihara's voice was sharp, filled with malice, and was to the point. Yaoyorozu for her part, simply spat at the blonde with a mixture of saliva and blood. Yoshihara scoffed. "Such uncouth behaviour from you, but I'll ignore it. But disrespect your teacher again, and you will pay for it."
"You're not a teacher…" Yaoyorozu snarled as Yoshihara slammed the back of the ravenette's head against the wall again, only this time it was harder, and it left a dent in the wall.
"For as long as we are at this camp, I am. So you will treat me as if you treat Aizawa-sensei. So far, you're failing that aspect. If I had as much power as Aizawa, and if I really was your teacher, officially, I would've expelled you by now. But that's beside the point," Yoshihara said, keeping her glare on Yaoyorozu. "Now, I've been nothing but cordial with you—patient, even. The only time I wasn't was when I lost my temper with you when you revealed the accidental pregnancy that I had terminated to save my life."
"That's a lie…."
"And if it is, you have no proof, so it doesn't matter. What matters is how you knew about that. You committed a cybercrime because the only way you could've gotten that information was if you hacked into my email. The only people who knew of what I did were Izuku, obviously, Dr. Zeppelli, Joekid, and myself, along with the U.A. staff who were in the know such as my mother, Aizawa, and Nedzu. All of which were communicated via email."
"What's your point," Yaoyorozu spat as Yoshihara narrowed her eyes.
"I'm getting there. Now, shut up," Yoshihara said, punching her in the nose this time, a sickening crunch echoing in the room. Blood spurted from the ravenette's nose. The Yaoyorozu heiress shouted in pain, only to get another punch to the mouth, which shut her up. "Now… seeing as you had access to my email, and presumably still do, that means you have access to my previous emails, and my emails with my previous employer, Akira.
"This is where you found the information about what I did in the past. I'll freely admit it. I was a whore, and I am not ashamed of it. At first, I was, but I've come to accept it for what it was. I did what I did to survive. But you know what? It doesn't concern you, and it concerns no one but myself, my former employer, and my mother. But once again, it seems you've completely disregarded that and stuck your nose in a place where it doesn't belong."
It was then that Yoshihara knelt at Yaoyorozu's level, her face inches from the ravenette's. who was slowly inching her head away from the blonde's. "I've had it up to here with this petty behaviour. I've warned you time- and time again, that one of these times I'd reach my limit with you. Todoroki has presumably spoken to you about this if Izuku is to be believed, and frankly, I'm starting to think you like pissing me off. That you get off to it. Well, guess what? You've fucked up now."
It was at that point that Killer Queen appeared, reached around to the back of Yaoyorozu's neck, and tapped once with its index finger. Yaoyorozu felt it, and her eyes narrowed at Yoshihara. Before she could speak, the blonde spoke. "Killer Queen has planted a bomb on the back of your neck. Though before you freak out, it won't kill you. First, though, you should know the rules behind this bomb. It's a nice little invention I came up with should I ever have to do interrogations. I call it Let Me Live. It's my Fourth Bomb because the third one is still a work in development. That aside, I find Let Me Live to be very interesting."
"Firstly, the bomb only begins to activate once you make a false or slanderous statement. Not a statement I deem false or slanderous, but a genuinely false or slanderous statement that the universe itself knows. You'll know once it activates when you hear a ticking noise in the back of your head. Afterward, you will have sixty seconds to correct the statement. Should you fail to do that, the bomb will blow up. And this is where the fun part kicks in.
"See, the bomb isn't strong enough to kill someone. As a matter of fact, it's so pathetically weak that it doesn't even result in an explosion. But what it does is far, far worse. See, I've placed the bomb in the cervical portion of your spine, which is just below your neck. Once the bomb blows up, it will compress that part of your spine, causing a complete and total shutdown of your movements. Meaning, you'll be paralyzed from the neck down."
Yaoyorozu's eyes widened and fear, as Yoshihara grinned. It was a terrifying expression. The kind of expression only someone who was genuinely insane would wear. The way the shadows covered her eyes, but left her psychotic smile wide and visible was more than horrifying for Yaoyorozu. "This is what happens, Yaoyorozu, when you push me too far. I've had enough of you. You have 24 hours, and by the end of those 24 hours you do not hand yourself over for your cyber crimes, this bomb will detonate. And do you know the best part? I have a condition set in that if you so much as think about telling someone about what happened in this room, the bomb will instantly blow up. After all, I can't have you squealing like the pig you are."
Yoshihara let go of Yaoyorozu's ponytail, as she dropped to the floor. But just as she fell to the ground, Killer Queen slammed its fist into her stomach, making the ravenette cough up and spit all over the place. The force of the punch was enough to crack the wall behind Yaoyorozu and make the ravenette slump lopsided against the wall.
Yoshihara stood up, looming over Yaoyorozu, who looked up at her with pure terror in her eyes. "Remember, Yaoyorozu. You have no one but yourself to blame for this. Perhaps, in another universe, we could've been friends. You could've been a decent person. You could've even been a part of my group, or a group of people who would see you as a good person. But here? You're nothing but scum. We're done here."
Yoshihara had Killer Queen unlock the door to the room, and when she walked out, she closed the door behind her. When she exited the room, she was met with a sleepy Izuku walking down the hallway, rubbing out the sleep in his eyes. He was looking better than he had before. The bruising around his arms was fading, and he was no longer limping. His Hamon training with Zeppelli really was paying off, even if it was minor.
From what she knew, he had only been doing the basics, and he was already practically using it like he was a master. Zeppelli had been shocked when he was told Izuku was using it in his sleep, and just like Yoshihara had thought, someone using it like that was no minor feat. Using Hamon in one's sleep was something that only a few masters could do, and only those who were a part of the Warrior Teibietan Monk clan knew Hamon back then, one of whom was a man by the name of Tom Petty.
Of course, Izuku was nowhere near Tom Petty's mastery level, and he still had years to go before he could even be half as good as Tom Petty. But the fact that he could use Hamon in his sleep showed that he could go far.
"Morning…." Izuku murmured as Yoshihara smiled.
"Good morning, sleepyhead," Yoshihara walked up to the green-haired teen and hugged him, getting one back as he nestled his head on her right shoulder. "Tired?"
"mhmm…"
"Well, get something to eat and wake up. Because at noon the class is going to begin their training. It was supposed to be the morning, but things changed and the teachers are prepping for something," Yoshihara said, as Izuku stepped back and looked at the blonde, before nodding.
"M'kay. Also, I felt the building shake… was there an earthquake?" Izuku asked as Yoshihara shook her head.
"Nope, I just put Yaoyorozu in her place," Yoshihara said, walking away and gesturing to the green-haired teen to follow her. He raised an eyebrow but followed suit. The two walked out of the building and outside. When they got outside, they stayed under the overhang as she spoke. "She thinks I placed a bomb on the back of her neck that, when it blows up, will paralyze her from the neck down. In truth, I don't have a bomb like that. It's a good ol' case of reverse psychology… and torture. But still…."
"Wha—Yoshihara! What the heck! I mean… don't get me wrong, she's done some bad things, but why?" Izuku questioned as Yoshihara sighed.
"She hacked into my email, which I figured out was how she found out about the whole abortion thing. But she also dug into my past and found out I worked at Tomodachi no Kuro before I met Midnight. She was going to reveal that to everyone, and that was when I drew a line in the sand. So now, in her mind, she has 24 hours to expose herself for her cyber crimes or she'll be "paralyzed from the neck down". At least, that's what she thinks. She also thinks that if she says something about it, the bomb will blow up immediately. Of course, she could wait out the 24-hour limit, but considering she was freaked out, she won't." As the blonde spoke, Izuku just stared at her, before facepalming and groaning.
"You know what? I give up… If it works it works. I mean, I knew that speaking to her would've done a fat load of nothing, but still… maybe you went a little too far?" Izuku said, rubbing the back of his neck as he looked over to the outdoor eating tables. Everyone had all but left, leaving only Kaminari and Uraraka who were talking about something.
Yoshihara for her part scoffed, crossing her arms with an annoyed expression on her face. "It didn't go "too far", I went far enough. Frankly, if I had it my way, I would've broken her arms and legs and left her there. But I can't do that, because that'll get me in trouble. Besides, Yaoyorozu is gullible. I'd rather mess with her mind than break her physically. That worked for Bakugo, but not her. She sees me as a villain, so for her, I'll be a villain. It just so happens that that's not a good thing."
As she said that, sighed. "Aizawa is probably going to reveal this when both Class 1 – A and 1 – B are joined up for training, but… Agent Todoroki said that the League of Villains would be invading tonight, and they're bringing The Vampire." As Yoshihara said that, Izuku's eyes widened. "I don't know what the game plan is, but I can only imagine it'll be an evacuation. I don't know what he did to give them this information, but my guess is that he told them The League's plan."
"W-Wait, the league's going to be here!?" Izuku exclaimed as Yoshihara hummed.
"The question is… what are they planning…. What are they after, and more importantly, how did they know we were brought here?" Yoshihara muttered to herself, rubbing her chin in thought before her attention was snapped to the door. Yaoyorozu came stumbling out, holding her stomach as the two shared a glance. When Yaoyorozu saw her, her eyes widened, and she immediately scrambled away, running off to the right and away from the general vicinity.
Yoshihara smirked, before looking back at Izuku. "Well, since we have till the afternoon, and since Aizawa is still sleeping in the teacher's lodgings a whole hour away from here, get something to eat and come to my sleeping quarters. Don't keep me waiting."
"B-bu—"
"Nope! You heard me, don't keep me waiting."
As Yoshihara said that, she re-entered the building, leaving a stuttering Izuku. Sometimes she really liked flustering the teen. And she wasn't kidding. She wasn't going to be teaching anything while in a foul mood. And Izuku always knew how to get out of said foul mood.
Was she addicted to sex? Perhaps. Was that a bad thing? Depends on who you ask. For Yoshihara, she was fine with it. Until Izuku says that he wants to take a step back and put a lid on their activities, she was going to get what she could out of it.
Besides, today was going to suck anyway. She was stressed with the prospect of The League invading, and she had to deal with a bunch of ignorant teenagers later. The least he could do was fuck her silly and make her feel better.
Once she got to her sleeping quarters, which was a standard bedroom with a bed, bedside table, and dresser to hold clothes, it didn't take long for Izuku to show up. When he closed the door behind him, and when she walked up to him and pressed him against the door, right hand clenching the rear of his All Might-themed pyjama pants and left hand cupping his chin, smiled. "C'mon, big guy, get that worried look out of your eyes. Relax… no one's gonna know."
"It's not that… it's just…. I don't know, Aizawa-sensei said we shouldn't do this while we're here. A-And… well, it just doesn't feel right after Tsuyu's death." Izuku paused, eyes glancing around the room, before continuing in a hushed whisper. "A-Also… Are you on the pill?" Izuku asked.
"Frankly, Tsuyu's death has nothing to do with what we do, as crappy as her death is, it shouldn't affect us. And, of course, I am. Helps stabilize my periods anyway, so it works either way. So I don't have a reason not to be. As for Aizawa, he doesn't need to know," Yoshihara let go of his pants, before wrapping both of her arms around the back of his neck and kissing him. The boy was taken aback but melted into it either way.
There was something different about it this time. Izuku noted that, and he figured out why almost immediately. Yoshihara's expression of love was different, namely because of her past. She was very, very physical, to the point where it made some people uncomfortable. Not Izuku, though. Obviously, because he'd have already said something by now if that was the case, but he digressed.
The way she kissed him. It wasn't forced per se, but it was almost… how did he put it? Different. Like she was trying to forget something. Her body language, too, signalled that, edging close to his body and pressing herself up against him, almost as if she wanted his warmth for another reason other than for sexual purposes.
Almost like she wanted him to protect her. And if what she had said was true, that The League was going to be showing up, then that made all the more sense than usual. It also didn't help that over the last few days she had been very, very active. More so than usual.
For the last three days, they have had daily sex. It was strange because she typically wasn't like that. She'd typically go a day or two without it, then complain about being pent up, and he'd help her relieve that pent-up feeling. But as of late, she had been growing more needy.
Perhaps they needed to talk about it. Because while having sex was fun, and apparently it had health benefits, there was such a thing as having too much of a good thing.
But… perhaps, not today. After the supposed horror show of tonight. Because again, if The League of Villains really were going to show up, perhaps doing something fun before he trained the day away wasn't a bad idea.
The couple pulled away from one another, a singular line of saliva connecting the two's lips, a subtle blush dusted the pair's cheeks, before Yoshihara smiled, her hand reaching down to his crotch, her hand feeling up his covered-up erect member, the only indication that it was there was due to the large lump at the front of his pyjama pants. "See? Now I've got you all worked up. Can't have you walking around with this, yeah? That's just bad etiquette. We wouldn't want to disturb the rest of the class, now would we?"
"N-No… I don't suppose we would want that…" Izuku murmured, earning a near-silent giggle from the blonde.
"Smart boy. Now come to bed and make me feel good. I don't want to be in a foul mood all day, and I think you'd rather not be all sluggish. A nice little bit of activity should wake you right up~" Yoshihara cooed, grabbing his wrist and taking him to her bed, laying him down back first, before straddling him, her face tinted red. As she began to unbutton her suit top, slipping it off of her shoulders and throwing it to the ground, and as she began to take off her shirt, Izuku blushed heavily, and that was the end of that.
About a minute or so later, outside of the room, Josefumi walked past after having a shower and re-styling his hair into a pompadour. As he was walking, he heard noises coming from said room and immediately recognized what they were from. Immediately, he looked away so as to not hear Izuku and Yoshihara's uncomfortably loud lovemaking, and continued walking. He even put fingers in his ears as he continued past just so he was double sure, because he did not need nor want to hear that.
He was a little annoyed, especially considering Aizawa had said that they weren't allowed to be doing that, and had especially made sure to remind Yoshihara of it before they went to bed last night. But it seemed as if the couple didn't care.
The young Kujo sighed. He'd leave them alone. Today was going to suck anyway, and they knew that. He wasn't going to ruin their fun, because it would probably be one of the last times they'd get to do it. Considering what was going to happen today, he had no doubt in his mind that something major was going to happen, and it would be a complete disaster.
Besides, he had a little brat named Kota Izumi to go train with his Stand, which apparently was named Watermelon Sugar. And if yesterday had told him anything, it was that it was going to be one hell of an event. Because that kid did not know how to listen.
Once he got a fair distance away from Kira's bedroom, or at least far enough away as to not hear Izuku and Yoshihara's lovemaking, i.e. downstairs on the first floor, he went to go find Kota.
Today was going to suck.
