Chapter 65

Ghost of love

Lincoln and his friends get ready to enjoy the festival, until they ran into three familiar faces.

"Jessie, James, Meowth? what are you three doing here?" Lincoln asked."

"we're here to enjoy the festival," jessie replied."

"that's cool," Bobby said.

"Why don't we enjoy the festival together," Lincoln suggested."

"Good idea," Meowth said."

James was busy seeing a beautiful woman.

"James, aren't you coming?" Jessie asked."

He came to his senses," oh, coming," he replied."

He joins up with the others, the woman suddenly turns into a Ghastly and disappears.

The group enjoys the festival with Jessie, James, and Meowth. while Lincoln buys some souvenirs for his family. they soon met up at a shrine where an old man displays a picture leaving the audience surprised.

"it's her," James said." she's the girl of my dreams don't wake me up."

James gets closer to the painting," stay back," the old man said pushing James back." The woman of this painting is from 2000 years ago."

"2000 years ago? please explain good sir," Clyde asked."

"Very well," the old man replied."

An image of a boat with warrior sailors starts leaving," She was in love with a brave young warrior who sailed off to battle," the old man explained."

"I'll wait for you forever, come back to me, farewell," the flashback maiden said."

She sees the boats leave in a distance, but only a helmet was seen drifting in the water." as she sees the boats leave hoping to see her true love return, but sadly, he never returned. So she waited and waited never leaving that spot, soon somehow her body was turned to stone waiting for her true love," the old man explained."

(crying)" that's so beautiful," Bobby said."

"Yeah, it's like she knows he out there and wants to stay in that spot hoping to see him," Clyde said crying as well."

"Is the statue still there?" Ronnie Anne asked."

"Yes, you can see it over there," the old man replied pointing at a cliff."

Later, the group heads towards the statue.

"Wow, she's really looks dedicated," Bobby said."

"I don't care if she's a statue, I'm still in love with her," James said." no one will keep me from her."

Jessie looked annoyed.

"Welp guys, let's get ready for bed," Lincoln said."

"Good idea," Ronnie Anne said."

Everyone goes to the Pokémon center and gets some sleep. later a night a ghost appeared in Jessie, James, and Meowth's room.

"My love, I'm waiting for you," the ghost said."

(wakes up)" it's you," James said.

The ghost maiden appeared in Lincoln, Clyde, and Bobby's room.

(bobby wakes up)" hmm, (sees the ghost)" you! what are you-," Bobby said.

The maiden ghost puts him to sleep. the next morning Lincoln, Clyde and Ronnie Anne are looking for Bobby until they were in front of the shrine.

"Bobby, where are you?" Lincoln called out."

"I checked around town, and didn't find him," Clyde said."

"it's weird, why would he suddenly disappear?" Ronnie Anne asked."

The trio suddenly meets up with Jessie and Meowth.

"What are you two doing here?" Clyde asked.

"Looking for James," Jessie replied."

Suddenly James and Bobby are thrown out of the shrine knocked out.

"What the heck?! how did they get in the shrine?" Ronnie Anne asked."

"No idea, but they're knocked out," Lincoln replied." Pikachu wake them up."

"On it," Pikachu said."

He zaps them to wake them up.

"Ouch, talk about shock therapy," Bobby said."

"I'll say," James said."

"What happened to you two?" Lincoln asked."

"We saw the ghost!" Bobby replied."

"And now she wants us," James said."

"Aw, the maiden has chosen you two," a voice said."

The group turns around and sees an old woman.

"What do you mean?" Clyde asked."

"Every year the maiden's ghost finds her true love, once the male is chosen, she'll take you away." the old woman said."

"How do protect my brother and James?" Ronnie Anne said."

"Follow me," the old woman replied."

The group enter the shrine. after sitting down, the old woman places stickers on Bobby and James.

"These are anti-ghost stickers, they'll help protect them for tonight," the old woman said."

"Tonight?" Lincoln asked."

"Yes, she'll come for them tonight," the old woman replied."

Shrine nighttime,

the others hide while Bobby and James (covered in stickers) sit in plain sight.

"let's hope this works," Clyde said."

Suddenly the shrine doors start shaking," she's here!" the old woman said."

The doors fly open with a gust of wind blowing off the stickers from Bobby and James.

"Hello, my loves," the ghost said."

"I'm not your love, I'm already taken," Bobby said."

"I'm scared! I'm really scared!" James cried."

"Now we can be together," the ghost said.

She leaves the shrine levitating Bobby and James taking them with her.

"Help!" Bobby screamed."

"I don't want to go!" James said."

As they were about to pass the cliff, Lincoln, Clyde, and Ronnie Anne, grabbed Bobby's legs and pulled him back.

"Hang on bro," Lincoln said."

"We got you," Ronnie Anne said."

"Thanks guys," Bobby said."

Jessie shoots a rocket at the ghost causing James to fall into the water.

"Hey girl you can't take him, you don't have a ghost of a chance," Jessie said."

(climbing the cliff fast)" you really do care," James said."

"it's not because of you, women like her annoys me, always waiting around for her man, he never comes back, she cries but I say see ya later," Jessie said." besides, she's not even that pretty."

"it's attitudes like that, is the reason you'll never get a boyfriend," Ronnie Anne said.

"I've been waiting, you cannot interfere," the ghost said.

The ghost unleashes a powerful wind and some spirits scaring everyone.

"Lincoln, this is like that episode of Arrgh!" Clyde said."

"I agree buddy," Lincoln said."

"Pokémon detected," Dexter said."

Lincoln looked around pointing dexter everywhere until he pointed at the ghost revealing to be Gastly.

"Ghastly! you're behind this?" Lincoln asked."

"So, you figured it out, I can be the maiden ghost, or the mysterious old woman, but no matter what i turn into (changed into its real form)" I'm obviously Ghastly," Gastly replied."

"I'll take you down," Pikachu said."

"How about a mousetrap," Ghastly said."

He takes a form of a giant mousetrap and chases Pikachu.

"Mousetrap won't hurt Meowth," Meowth said."

He runs towards Ghastly until a ball appeared, and he played with it.

"Go Arbok!" Jessie said."

Arbok tried to wrap Ghastly, until a mongoose appeared," Dinner time," the mongoose said scaring Arbok."

"Bruteroot, shell Shocker, attack together!" Lincoln said."

Ghatly makes a Venosaur and Blastoise appear. they both fused becoming Venostoise scaring Bruteroot and Shell Shocker.

"Dang it," Lincoln said."

"Ghastly," a voice said."

They turn around to see the real maiden ghost.

"Whoa, no wonder James fell for her statue," Clyde said."

"She has Ms. DiMartino beat hands down," Lincoln said."

(looking annoyed and jealous)" she's nothing compared to me," Jessie muttered."

"Forgive me, I was trying to find your love and those two resembled him," Ghastly said."

"Oh, I see, you were her Pokémon," Lincoln said."

"Yes, I am. I was a gift to her be her beloved, I knew he died thus I figured he was reincarnated," Ghastly."

"Your heart was in the right place, but all that did was scared them," Lincoln said." did you ever think that he was waiting for her on the other side?"

"I... never thought of that," Ghastly replied."

"Ghastly, that never crossed your mind?" the ghost maiden asked."

"No, he didn't," a male voice said."

The group sees the maiden's love as a ghost.

"My love," the maiden said as she embraced him."

"Ghastly, I appreciate you trying to see if I was reincarnated, but I wasn't," the ghost warrior said."

"I see," Ghastly said."

"Now that you two are together again, you can pass on," Lincoln said."

"Indeed, join us Ghastly," the ghost maiden said."

"I shall," Ghastly said as the three disappeared.

"I'm glad they're reunited," Bobby said crying."

"Me too," Clyde said."

The group head back to town and explained what happened. after that they enjoyed the final night of the festival, Jessie and James play the big drum while Meowth plays the flute. Lincoln (wearing a kimono) and Pikachu enjoy the snacks.

"Talk about crazy right?" Pikachu asked."

"Yeah, though it really surprised me that you're scared of mousetraps," Lincoln replied."

"Hey, I may be a Pokémon but I'm still a mouse," Pikachu said."

"Hey lame-o," Ronnie Anne said as she walks up to them in her own kimono making Lincoln blush.

"Come on let's join the dance," Ronnie Anne said as she takes Lincoln's hand."

The two along with Pikachu enjoy the festival along with Bobby and Clyde. at the end of the festival, Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were looking at the stars.

"Hey Ronnie Anne, if the same thing happened to me, would you wait for me forever even after I died?" Lincoln asked."

"First I would see proof, and I would keep going knowing you're watching over me," Ronnie Anne replied."

(holding her hand)" me too," Lincoln said."

She rests her head on his shoulder smiling, Lincoln smiled back, he suddenly sees a couple with a Ghastly.

"Could day be? nah," Lincoln said."

"Thank you, for reuniting me with my love," the woman whispered."

Lincoln was speechless,' I guess they were reincarnated,' Lincoln thought.

The scene shows the maiden's statue, now has her beloved by her side smiling.

That's chapter 65, next chapter will be another report.

How will the louds react to the safari zone, the fossil Pokémon, and the maiden ghost trying to take James and Bobby especially Lori.
