What do you mean hasn't been seen in hundreds of years?" Chloe asked in disbelief.
"Yes what we saw there were Pokémon from ancient Sinnoh, but they haven't been sighted in the wild for hundreds of years" Raifort explained "So why would Team Galactic have them now?"
"Team Galactic has always had an interest in the timeline it wouldn't surprise me if they managed to mess with the timeline to get their hands on them," Gary remarked. "Don't forget that we're also in Area Zero where time can get a bit bizarre so it may be brought them here too"
Another portal opened up in the ground, Ash braced for something to come through but the portal remained silent.
"Perhaps if we go in there, we can find out where Team Galactic is coming from" Gary suggested.
"I'll go!" Ash volunteered "Everyone else gets back to higher ground we can handle this"
Ash stepped into the portal. After a brief burst of pink light Ash and Gary stood inside a dark room.
"Intruder Detected! Intruder Detected!" an alarm started blaring and a swarm of Team Galactic grunts stormed down the hallway.
Charizard and Blastoise easily took out all of the grunts Pokémon with Hydro Pump and Flamethrower sending them scattering well Ash and Gary continued down the hallway.
"So Team Galactic is using these portals to get to and from their base of operations," Gary remarked.
"Where did they come from though and how do they get them to open?" Ash asked.
"Don't know but whatever it is we need to find the source of it"
They came across a large steel door that Pikachu and Electivire cut open with Iron Tail. On the other side was a large room full of control panels and static tv screens. Nobody was in the room but the scattered papers and headphones that were still plugged in someone was here recently and left in a rush.
On each end of the room was an exit "You check one exit I'll check the other one" Ash was okay with letting Gary take the lead here he wasn't the best with leading things.
Ash cautiously opened one of the doors Pikachu and Charizard were ready to attack in case but there was nothing on his side.
"Ash your gonna want to see this" Gary beckoned over to the other exit. The entire stairwell had a strange purple aura clinging to it.
Ash shouted in pain when he stepped on one. The aura lashed out at him stabbing him with a sharp energy "We're gonna have to clear all of these things"
Ash and Gary slowly made their way up the stairs well their Pokémon cleared the purple energy. When they reach the end of the stairwell the door opened to the outside world a dense marshy woodland.
"Now way!" Gary remarked in disbelief.
"What is it?"
"According to my GPS were in Kalos, Route 14 to be specific"
"I guess that portal must have taken us pretty far then" Now that Ash was looking at the forest look like Route 14 when he traveled through Kalos.
Now Ash's mind was starting to wander, What was Team Galactic doing in Kalos? How did they have such a giant bass without anybody noticing? How deep did something like this go?
Something moving fast in the trees caught Ash and Gary's eye.
It had melded back into the forest as swiftly as the shape was there.
"That seems like it's important," Gary remarked sending out his Dodrio to track the mysterious shadow.
Seconds later the forest was alight as something attacked Dodrio with Flamethrower.
Ash and Gary ran after the commotion although it seemed painfully slow with how their feet were bogged down in the wet soil.
Dodrio leaped over the Flamethrower attacking what looked like a person with Drill Peck.
The human form shifted into a Hisuian Zoroark which took off into the forest.
"Not so fast Pikachu use Quick Attack!" Pikachu shot after the Zoroark dodging a Bitter Malice and blasting it with Thunderbolt.
Before Ash could corner the Zoroark it disappeared into another portal.
"We need to get to the abandoned house if Team Galactic is going to be anywhere then they're going to be there" Gary suggested.
"Sounds like a plan to me" Ash and Gary elected to ride on Charizard and Dodrio to save time.
"Mars I need to know how did that portal open!" someone shouted from inside the abandoned house.
"No matter now can you still open another one?"
"Charizard blow off the roof with Air Slash!" Charizard cut off the roof with blades of wind exposing Team Galactic underneath it.
"Stop this at once Team Galactic!" Gary ordered.
"If you're so insistent on that why don't I let Zapdos do the talking" Saturn replied.
Zapdos jumped out from behind the Galactic commander swiping with a Thunderous Kick that Blastoise blocked with Rapid Spin.
"You handle Zapdos I can handle Team Galactic" Gary order throwing out Arcanine and Umbreon to stop the Team Galactic admins from opening another portal.
Zapdos lunged forward again with a Drill Peck at Pikachu and Charizard which both were barely able to dodge. Zapdos ended up charging through the wall taking their fight outside.
"Use Thunderbolt and Flamethrower!" Zapdos countered the attacks with Agility dodging the attacks and running rings around Ash.
Zapdos dashed beside Charizard and Pikachu smashing them with Brick Break and Drill Peck, darting off before they could respond with an attack.
Ash needed a plan to counter Zapdos.
"Charizard use Flamethrower on the trees!" Ash ordered, the burning of the trees drawing out Zapdos.
With Zapdos now out in the open Ash could get a better view of the galarian bird.
When Zapdos flew forward with a Thunderous Kick Ash was prepared to counter.
"Pikachu use Iron Tail on the ground!" The Iron Tail kicked up the boggy ground. When Zapdos slammed down with Thunderous Kick its foot began stuck in the muddy ground.
Zapdos squawked loudly in protest as it yanked its foot out of the ground leaving it blindsided by Charizards Seismic Toss picking it up and slamming Zapdos into the ground.
When Zapdos got up from the ground Pikachu struck the collar around its neck breaking Zapdos free from Team Galactic's control.
With its mind now free Zapdos ran straight for the house that Team Galactic was inside of.
Inside the building, Gary's Arcanine had taken down Skunktank and Purugly with Flame Wheel, well Umbreon was holding up Toxicroak and Zoroark with Psychic.
Zapdos leaped through the ruined walls glaring down at the Team Galactic admins.
As it ran forward with another Thunderous Kick Jupiter was able to open another one of the portals saving them from getting struck by the attack.
Zapdos snorted in disappointment leaping out of the abandoned house and into the woods.
In the blink of an eye, all evidence of Team Galactic was gone but a ruined house and some burning trees, which Blastoise was already taking care of.
"Sorry about those trees it was the only way that I could think to get Zapdos out of the forest"
"That's not what I'm concerned about right now" Gary replied gruffly hauling somebody off from the floor.

It was as though Ash's brain had short-circuited, unable to process what Gary held. He felt suspended outside of his own body suspended over them. For the strangest moment, he felt like he was dreaming.
Wrapped in Gary's arm was an unconscious Goh.
"Rinto report back to us our things holding up on your end?" the grunt asked through the radio.
"All well and good how did the mission go?"
"Unfortunately, we have experienced a major setback. Somehow Ash and Gary Oak were able to get through one of the portals, Zapdos and Goh have both been lost"
"How unfortunate what's the game plan now?"
"The boss's just said to fall back and keep low until we can figure out a new plan"
Rinto silently breathed a sigh of relief. Goh and Ash were safe this was the best-case scenario that he could think of.
"There have been reports from the main team about another Pokémon coming through the portal. Not much is known about it right now but it appears to be related to the weather genies of Unova"
A slight sense of rage began to creep up Rinto's spine.
Of course, something like this was going to happen, opening portals with Tera Crystals was bound to start dragging who knows what from who knows where into the modern day.
"Iron Leaves use Psyblade" Iron Leaves slashed one of the crystals with psychic energy creating another portal to burst wide open above him.
"Of course, I had to get them out of this mess" Rinto scoffed "Geeta and whoever else runs that circus managed to get them into a mess like that"
Rinto returned Iron Leaves to its Pokeball as he prepared to go home.
"Rinto, Rinto, are you still there Rinto talk to me!" Rinto turned off his radio, What the admins thought be dammed.
Once he was in the alleyway safely behind his house he brought out Iron Leaves and opened another portal, one for Ash and Gary to come back through.
"I'll have to check up on Ash and Goh it's the least that I can do for them"
To Rintos disappointment the door was unlocked.
"Hey, Rinto how's it going?" Rika asked overly chipper considering what just happened.
"Oh it's going good how was your training?"
"Training was fine how was your day?"
"Oh, you know the usual lots of computer work"
Ya sure Computer work, great excuse from his sister.
That at least explained where Mom and Dad were something as big as this would require an absolute tone of paperwork.
"Fucking typical of the league more concerned with trying to weasel their way out of something that their lack of concern caused. All those that they interfered with be dammed!"
"Rinto? Rinto? You okay?"
"I'm fine" Rinto replied a bit too harshly when he stormed up to his room.
"Rinto I'm sorry if I offended you it has been hectic lately with all the stuff happening at the academy" Rinto could practically hear the gears turning in Rika's head well he stuffed Iron Leaves back in the box underneath his bed.
"Did something happen today with the training? You know if someone was making fun of you again I won't hesitate to fight them for you, I need to get my win streak back up since I lost to Ash you know"
"I'd rather not talk about it" Was the only thing that Rinto could think to respond.
"Alright then, but remember the other always stands"
"I'll keep that in mind" Once Rika was a comfortable distance away from the door Rinto started browsing his phone.
Ignoring the various messages from the group chat Nemona had invited him into he went straight into his research.
The Team Galactic grunt had mentioned something about a Pokémon related to the weather genies, so naturally, Rinto threw himself into researching anything connected to the genie trio.
After a bunch of stuff on Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus and their forum he finally found what he was looking for.

A different guise from its feminine humanoid form. From the clouds, it descends upon those who treat any form of life with disrespect and metes out wrathful, ruthless punishment.
"I knew bringing all those ancient Sinnoh Pokémon through Area Zero was a horrible idea" Rinto moaned into his keyboard.
If things couldn't get any worse now they had this thing running around doing who knows what.
Rinto continued down his rabbit hole of information trying to find any and all info he could on Enamorus, righting down anything that he thought was important.

Rinto had been studying this thing so long that it was already night.
"Shit I really need to get to bed" Rinto sighed finally getting ready for sleep.
Something about this couldn't be right.
According to the most recent reports the forces of nature were on the move, way off their normal course.
Meloetta was clearly disturbed to she had been prancing about the town in unease.
"At the rate that there going they'll be leaving Unova and over open water" Ridley reviewed the findings in confusion.
Stranger still was the fact that none of them appeared to be fighting all of them appeared to be moving in a uniform motion.
"With the path their taking they're going to go straight across the Atlantic"
Meloetta let out a dainty cry pointing at one of the books on Ridlys extensive shelf.
Flipping through the book on ancient Pokémon forums Ridly landed on the page about Enamorus.
"You really think someone found Enamorus?"
Meloetta hummed as if to say yes.
"If that is the case then this a serious manner" Ridley started jutting down a note explaining the situation and where he was going.
"If Enamorus really did reappear then it's likely that someone has awakened it for a nefarious purpose" Meloetta hummed again as Ridly pulled out Golurks Pokeball.
He needed to get over to Europe as fast as possible.
Considering what happened the last time something happened involving the forces of nature it didn't end very well.
