"That's not exactly I high bar to clear" Meowth scoffed.

"Hey now it's not like either of you knuckleheads ever suggested using are old Pokémon to teach are new Pokémon"

"Didin't we all agree that we hated the Gacha machine and agreed to not mention we lost it" James suggested.

"Oh ya your right"

"Well that's beside the point it was still my idea to let are more experienced contest stars teach are new contest stars"

"I'll admit it was a good idea I just wonder what they're talking about?"

Pelipper-So you want us to attack our teammates correct?

Carnavine-Yup

Pelipper and Bombirdier start fighting.

Yanmega-What happened to the Gacha Machine anyways

Wobbuffet-It fell off a collapsing cliff like somebody had I don't know left it their hoping it would fall and he would finally be rid of it.

Carnavine-What?

Wobbuffet-nothing

"So do you think that he'll be okay?" Ash asked frantically as he barged through the hospital doors.

"Yes, Sir he appears to be recovering just fine we just need to keep him overnight for observational purposes" the nurse replayed telling him which room Goh's room was in.

When Ash got to Goh's room Ash practically flung himself at Goh wrapping his arms around him like a lifeline.

"Oh, Goh I'm so happy to see you!"

"I'm so happy to see you too, god when that Hisuian Zoroark grabbed me that was probably the most terrified that I've ever been in my life"

"What happened? How did this happen?" Ash somewhat forcefully. Since he first saw Goh in Gary's arms he had been asking how when with so many strong trainers including two champions, Goh was able to be snatched like that.

"I was just fighting this Avalugg and then… then the ground was sinking below me and then I… I tried to run but… but… but then that Zoroark came out of the portal and then I was caught in its weird ghost energy and couldn't stop it" Goh's voice kept getting higher until he collapsed into Ash's arms and began sobbing.

Ash was taken aback to see Goh so distraught letting him soak his shirt with tears.

"That was the most scared that I've ever been in my life" Goh whimpered into Ash's shoulder.

When he thought about those words he realized that Goh was right.

The only things even close to this caliber that Goh had experienced were Heatran and Eternatus, both of which were simply battles to have a mysterious form of a Pokémon not seen in hundreds of years grab you into a portal the battling legendary didn't come close.

In comparison to Ash who had been in more dangerous situations in a few years than most people had in their life, there wasn't a lot that could faze Ash.

Seeing his friend break down before him was one of those things.

Ash had never been good at consulting or comforting people, but giving Goh a shoulder to cry on seemed enough for now.

Ash didn't know how long he sat there as Goh grew quiet Ash realized he had fallen asleep in his arms. Ash slowly sat him back down on the hospital bed and slowly backed out of the room.

Ash checked his phone to see had a ton of missed messages a bunch from his mom asking if he and Goh were okay one from Geeta asking to keep things private and out of the public discussion and a bunch from Iris.

"Do you remember that Ridly guy?"

"He was the guy who helped us with the forces of nature. The guy who looks after Meloetta"

"He's here in Pladea theirs something going on with the forces of nature and they're on their way here"

Ash had to read that one over again. The forces of nature were seriously crossing an entire ocean to travel to Paldea. Why did all this thing keep coming to him like he was some sort of magnet?

"He said he believes that it has something to do with something called Enamorus don't know if you know what that is"

"Here is a link to it"

Ash did a quick read-through on the Love-Hate Pokémon He didn't read the whole thing but he got the gist of it "Flys around brings spring to places attack people who disrespect life Therian forum looks like a turtle"

"Ridly wants to meet us to discuss this he said that there must be a reason that Enamorus has reemerged for the first time in centuries"

"Sure Iris I would be happy to meet with Rudy"

"Crap Ridly autocorrect be dammed"

"This is the information I could find in the library about Enamorus" Ridley huffed pulling what must have been 30 pages of information

"Most of this is old texts from ancient Sinnoh and Indigenous Unovans so it took me a while to decipher all of this but it seems like in ancient times it would show up after Landorus had already quelled Tornadus and Thundurus bringing warm weather to lands Landorus has already blessed to create bountiful harvests"

Meloetta danced around Ash and Pikachu throughout the entire speech happy to see people she considered friends again.

"The thing is sightings of Enamorus seem to stop before the start of both modern Sinnoh and Unova history theirs no reliable first-hand reports from Kalos or Galarian explores of it, So most modern records report it as extinct"

"You don't think that Team Rocket could be behind this?"

"Oh no" Ash laughed "Team Rocket has been almost an afterthought for me aside from Jessie and James and I think they're going to be in Kalos for a Pokémon contest anyway"

"Well the rest of Team Rocket hasn't been seen since Operation Tempest we have been having problems with Team Galactic it doesn't seem like a coincidence that it emerged just after we stopped them from capturing the Galarian legendary birds" Iris explained.

"Do you think that they found it on purpose?"

"No not they've likely gone into hiding with plans foiled and their leaders likely going into hiding"

"Besides, isn't Area Zero like make time all weird and stuff couldn't it just teleport Enamorus from the past to today?"

"It could be that would also explain the appearance of ancient Sinnoh Pokémon under Team Galactic control but Area Zero is a strange place anyways and those books that Goh has don't seem to answer much it doesn't even know if those Pokémon come from the past or they're a manifestation of peoples imagination"

"Wait what?" Ash and Ridly asked Simultaneously.

"One of the theories in the book mentioned was that the Pokémon of Area Zero are the manifestation of people's imagination whatever people think of it creates"

Ash thought about this alternate theory. It could make sense. Team Galactic was from Sinnoh so if they knew about Hisuian forums then they could imagine hard enough until Area Zero created them. That would also explain why all of the Paradox forums had such weird dex entries about them If they were just from someone's imagination.

"Either way we need to find wherever Enamorus is because the rest of the Forces of nature are on their way here and even if you believe that Team Galactic is subdued for now its still best to make sure that we know Enamorus's location before they do"

Goh couldn't remember what he was dreaming about he just remembered vague notions of purple swirling around in his head vague whisperings of sweet nothings tantalizingly out of reach.

Goh eventually woke up from his disoriented sleep quickly rubbing the sleep from his eyes, the events of what happened last night came back to Goh.

"Oh my did I really break down in front of Ash?" Goh sighed humiliated.

Goh got his things and check out of the hospital and quickly started power-walked his way back to the academy.

What exactly he wanted to do Iris, Ash, and Gary had all recommended that he take the day off but taking time off wasn't something Goh did very often and he had no idea how to actually spend his day off.

His thoughts about whether it was acceptable to spend the whole day binging world coronation battles by the trail of raw in his path.

The trail led to a dumpster in an alleyway behind a butcher shop where something was making a loud rustling.

Inside the garbage can was a large pair of butterfly wings.

"What in the?" Goh was trying to think of what kind of Butterfly Pokémon had wings like that when the insect turned its head to face him.

Goh froze like a deer in the headlights.

Not only were its wings huge but the Pokémon they belonged to was also giant at least ten feet long and tall enough to come up to Goh's chest at ground level.

The piercing yellow eyes the giant wings the long tail.

Goh's mind flashed back to one of the images of the Scarlet Book.

Slither Wing in the ancient forum of Volcarona.

With a loud chirping noise Slither Wing lunged forward at Goh nearly grabbing him with its front legs.

Goh quickly shifted from power walking to sprinting as Slither Wing chased after him.

Considering it was eating from behind a butcher shop Slither Wing definitely wasn't the type to eat flower nectar.

Goh turned down another alleyway putting distance between him and Slither Wing who had trouble getting through the tight space.

With enough space between him and Slither Wing Goh was able to send out Cinderace to battle it.

"Cinderace use Pyro Ball!"

To Goh's horror, Slither Wing overpowered the Pyro Ball with Superpower slamming Cinderace in git and sending him flying into Goh.

Goh scrambled back to his feet returning Cinderace to his Pokeball to let him recover well he continued running from Slither Wing.

If Cinderace couldn't beat it nothing he had on him would stand a chance.

Well, he turned down another alleyway, he pulled out his phone and sent a message to the first number in his contact not even bothering to look who it was.

The message only said Help! With his location.

Goh kept turning down corners and alleyways well he heard the pitter-patter of Slither Wing's legs as it pulled itself through the ally seemingly hell-bent on catching him.

Goh quickly sent out Arctozolt and Boldor to create a barrier with Icy Wind and Stealth Rock well he thought of a way to escape.

A latter perfect.

Goh quickly scrambled up the latter well he heard Slither Wing crash through the barrier behind him.

Goh scrambled across the rooftop only to come to a stop at the edge.

Theirs was no way he could make the jump to the next building.

And behind him, Slither Wing used its wings to help pull itself up the wall.

"Hey, Goh! What are you doing up there" town below him Ash was riding his Tauros.

Makes sense that he was the first person in Goh's contact list.

At the sight of Ash Slither Wing changed targets gliding off the roof to face Ash.

"Oh that's what you were doing up there"

Ash hopped off Tauros and sent out Primeape to let them deal with Slither Wing.

Goh watched the battle unfold well he caught his breath.

Tauros went for Fissure creating a hole that forced Slither Wing to move right into Primeape who smacked it with Mega Kick.

Slither Wing retaliated with a Lunge pouncing on top of Primeape and pinning him down.

Slither Wing began assaulting Primeape with Dual Wingbeat slamming its wings down on him.

Tauros charged forward Zen Heatbutt slamming into Slither Wing with glowing pink energy getting it off of Primeape.

Both attacked with Ice Punch and Take Down further Pushing Slither Wing into a corner.

Slither Wing let out a loud screech and its body began glowing white as sunlight radiated out of it.

Goh cursed internally of course the thing knew Morning Sun.

With its energy replenished Slither Wing went on the offensive again knocking Tauros and Primeae back with Superpower.

Slither Wing lunged forward again pinning both of them down with Duel Wingbeat.

Well, Ash was getting ready to send out another Pokémon Primeapes fist started giving off a glowing purple and blue energy punching Slither Wing in the mandibles.

Slither Wing attacked Primeape again with Lunge Primeape attacked with its new move again the aura around it getting stronger from the blow.

Tauros and Primeae attacked again with Rage Fist and Take Down knocking Slither Wing back into a corner again.

Well, Slither Wing charged up another Morning Sun Ash started fishing something out of his bag.

He pulled out an Ultra Ball.

And threw it at Slither Wing well it was using Morning Sun.

One.

Two.

Three.

Ash had caught Slither Wing.

Big capture there at the end I felt like Slither Wing was the best Paradox Mon for Ash since he hasn't caught a bug type since Unova.

Also, Primeape learnt Rage Fist I'm sure that won't come back later.

Sorry, these last two chapters have been so short they haven't been the most story-packed the next chapter should be longer.
