It was getting dark, with only the moonlight providing illumination as Cedric was walking the silent pathway of the forest. He was tasked to cast a spell that will help the trees grow longer.
After what seemed like a whole day, the tired sorcerer can finally go home
Upon continuing his way, he noticed a certain girl up ahead.
"A girl shouldn't be alone in the forest this late" he uttered to himself
He then pondered to himself whether he should accompany her, or stay quiet of so – then it would seem as if he is stalking the poor defenseless girl in this night.
Cedric had terrible experiences with this before, most especially with girls in his teenage years. They would brand him as a creep even just by walking behind them. This traumatized the poor sorcerer, which would add greatly to the social anxiety that he is still carrying till this day
Somehow, he couldn't blame them either. He would be terrified too if some tall lanky man is stalking him from behind.
As he remembered this, Cedric then paused for a second there. This is definitely the same scenario as of before. He didn't want this girl to be uncomfortable whatsoever and so he decided to take another path.
Cedric turned, but as he takes another step – he stumbled upon a stone which caused a big noise, catching the attention of the girl up ahead
When she turned around, Cedric knew it was all over. He would be branded off as a creep who stalks people in the dead of the night. He remembers it quite well with all the torture he had to go through with his female classmates
Suddenly, he heard footsteps getting louder and louder in his direction. He raised his head up which revealed to him who this girl was
"Mr. Ceedric!"
Sofia yelled as she crashed unto him, snuggling close to his robes. Cedric was speechless, He never expected the girl to be no other than Princess Sofia
"Sofia?" he asked while patting her back
"What are you doing here?"
The poor girl sniffled as she raised her head up to meet his gaze
"I was looking for some pinecones, but then it got dark and I got lost in the way" Sofia cried with tears flowing on her eyes
Cedric couldn't help but feel bad for the poor girl, her sky blue eyes reflected the shine of the moon which was very beautiful to look at.
He then wiped the tears from her cheeks as knelt down to the ground.
"Don't worry Princess Sofia, I'm here now." Cedric whispered softly
Sofia embraced him again, with her nose close to his neck. She loved his scent, it reminded her of classic books and the fresh breeze of early dew
She took a sniffle again which tickled Cedric, causing him to giggle a bit
"What was that?" He exclaimed
The Princess giggled upon hearing this as she held on tightly and did it again
"What are you doing? That tickles!" Cedric stated with a laugh
He then gripped both of her shoulders away, which revealed Sofia's face to him. She was happy now.
The sorcerer then noticed a strange line from her nose to his neck, a slimy wet thing that connected to her nose
"Did you just sniffle in me?"
"Oh… I'm sorry, Mr. Ceedric…" Sofia coyly responded
Cedric then wiped off his neck with an expression on his face that is both disgusted and amused at the same time.
"I swear, you're still a child deep inside Sofia" Cedric uttered with a slight chuckle
"Anyways, let's go home now"
xXx
Cedric and Sofia went on their way through the deep forest of Enchancia. It was already night time but the light from the moon above illuminated their way.
A large worry was lifted off Sofia's shoulders, finally she can go on her way without having fear of losing her way again – after all, she has her favorite sorcerer on her side
But they could still be separated, and that could definitely cause more trouble.
Sofia had one idea on her mind to make sure they don't get separated
"What the…"
Cedric exclaimed as he felt something brush slowly in his palm
It was Sofia's hand
Sofia gave him a toothy grin to alleviate his worries
"Hah, you're still scared, aren't you?"
"Not in the slightest, Mr. Ceedric!" Sofia responded in a enthusiastic manner
"Then why hold my hand?"
A sudden rush of embarrassment came up to her upon hearing that. Good thing she had a legitimate reason on doing so
"It's uh… we could be separated and all, and I don't want that!" Sofia answered with a nervous smile on her face
"Well, if that's the case…"
Cedric then pulled his sleeve unto her
"You can just grip my sleeve here, it is surely long enough for you to hold"
Sofia didn't budge however, she even gripped his hand tighter because of this. This certainly caused Cedric to be uncertain
"Umm… did you hear what I just said?"
"Oh don't worry about it, Mr. Ceedric~" Sofia said softly with an innocent smile on her face
The sorcerer huffed out a sigh upon hearing this as he whispered
"Still the same old Princess Sofia for you…"
And so they continued on with their way, straight up ahead to the village of Enchancia while the night is still young. While they were busy conversating, Sofia accidentally stepped on a stone which made her fall to the ground, spraining her ankle upon doing so
"Sofia, are you okay!?" Cedric bit out as gave support unto the poor princess's back
"I'm fine, but something happened to my foot" she responded in a slight hysteric
Cedric groaned to himself upon seeing her ankle, it was definitely sprained. He knew damn well because he had a similar incident in the past and he couldn't walk for almost a day
He definitely didn't want that to happen to Sofia. Cedric then turned around, turning his back to her and knelt down for Sofia to climb
"Do it slowly"
It took Sofia a few moments to process what he was offering, but upon doing so…
"Are you sure!?" Sofia's face lit up
"Yeah." Cedric responded with a smile
Without hesitation, Sofia climbed unto Cedric's back like a puppy with a very amused look on her face
"The view here is ah-mazing~" Sofia uttered with her face as bright as the moon above
She then leaned her head to his back, with her arms holding her neck tightly. At that moment, Sofia didn't ever want to let go
"Thank you, Mr. Ceedric…" she whispered softly into his ear which made tickled the sorcerer
"You know how ticklish I am, stop that!" Cedric whined in response as he raised her legs up and started moving
Sofia giggled feintly upon hearing this, with her head almost leaning close on his back like a pillow. His scent was the same as before, and she thoroughly loved it
The fresh breeze of the wind brushing past them, the calming sound of Cedric's footsteps on the ground, the beautiful moonlight's illumination…
And the warmth of her favorite sorcerer.
The trail continues on with a smiling Sofia leaning on a Cedric's back. Her mind was blank, she didn't want to think whatsoever, but somehow, her thoughts found their way back
"I changed my mind – being lost isn't that bad after all"
Sofia opened her eyes slightly to take a peek of Cedric from behind. For some reason, her heartbeat started thumping a series of beats as she watches him closely. A warm smile forms on her lips as her eyelids slowly closed...
"Especially when you have a certain someone to come find you..."

They were almost halfway to the castle, as Cedric exhaled a couple of pants. Carrying a certain princess for a long period of time was easier said than done
He never expected Sofia of all princesses to be lost in the first place. Cedric always thought of her as smart and resourceful
"Wait… resourceful?"
A realization came to Cedric as he turned his head sideways to talk to her
"Hey Sofia, if you can talk to animals, why didn't you just…"
Cedric paused when he notices something, a series of warm breath tickling his neck accompanied by a wet sensation coming from a soft feeling that could be immediately assumed to be her drool
It didn't take seconds for Cedric to decipher what's going on.
"Aw, Merlyn's Mushrooms…"
